Touch the small square indentation on either front door handles to lock the car if your key fob is in your possession. No need to take it or your smartphone out of your pocket to lock the car. It's how I lock the car when parking in public places. Works every time.
I didn’t know that!! I’m going to try that now! Thanks for that tip. I’m making a follow up video and will definitely add this and credit you!
This is how I always lock my car. I wish I could lock it with the lock button inside the car (like I do with basically every other car with power locks that I’ve ever owned) but the proximity button on the handle is the next best thing I guess
Been driving this thing since February 2023 and I *just* learned this two weeks ago!
Great video Carlos, thanks. In the opening seconds you are shown plugging in your charger to a rather long extension cord (and a lighter gauge one at that). Best practice is to avoid extension cords entirely, and use the shortest and heaviest gauge extension cords (12ga/20A, 25ft max length, shorter is better) when a cord is needed. There are times when the voltage drop introduced by a lightweight long extension cord will cause the charging system's protective circuity to shut off charging (a nasty surprise to find the next morning when you're already late to work). There's also increased overheating/fire risk.
Great stuff. Another feature: most of the hard buttons below the touch screen function as toggles. If you are on the screen showing realtime energy use and press the Warmer button to turn adjust heated seats, steering wheel, etc., you can just tap the Warmer button again to return to the realtime energy. Saves digging through menus.
Thank you !!
Man such good tips! Getting mine tomorrow I'm so excited! Thank you for the really... Down to earth tips on many dayily things about the car !
Great tips! I learned some new tips like the Map and Nav filter or the trunk trick to turn off alert and light. Thanks for sharing.
Great video! I dont own a ev hyundai but your video is one step closer to owning one! Thanks for work and effort you put into this! Great info!
Greetings from Australia. Thanks for the video, Carlos. I am thinking of buying this vehicle this year. This video helped a lot.
Nice tips! I especially liked the Bluelink mapping one.
Excellent tips! Several I wasn't aware of (like the trunk). Happy New Year!
Happy new year! Thanks for watching!
Great video ! I'm waiting for my Ioniq to be delivered within the next few weeks and your video was very useful, thanks for it !
Great video bro! You are an EV expert
Great video! Helpful info, well done.
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for watching!
My Ioniq 5 is on order and this video has been brilliant in answering a few things I was wondering about. Thank you! 🙂
How do you like it? Finishing up the financing on mine tomorrow probably
@@jeffcressotti not hot it yet. End of April.
Appreciate the video as someone in the market for an Ioniq 5 (or maybe 6! we'll see once I test drive)
I hear the i6 is more fun to drive but the i5 is smoother. But I can’t say from experience, just what I heard from both owners.
Super helpful video. Thanks!
Great info. Thanks for sharing 👍🏾
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for watching!
Great video. The information you provided was clearly presented and actually useful for I5 owners. So tired of all the EV shills, and haters, cluttering up TH-cam these days.
Thank You! It was useful!
Good info. Thanks!
Great video, many thanks
Thanks a lot. Nice Infos. Greetings from Germany Berlin Ioniq-Owner Since 12.2023 ^^ AWD Uniq Pano 77kwh
For some reason, my local dealer has Ionique 5's on the lot but there's a queue for the Kona EV.
Thanks for your tips! Is there an alternative rubber cover for the charging socket or charging flap cover for the ioniq 5? This cover protects the charging socket from dirt, dust and water. But I don't like the look of this rubber cover dangling from the car when fast charging.
WOW CARLOS, SUPER ADVICE, I WANT AN IONIC 5, SUPER GREAT LOOKING, FUTURE TODAY. FANTASTIC ADVICE, YOU KNOW YOUR STUFF. 😁😁😁😁
THANK YOU!!!
You can also pre-condition in winter if you want more efficiency. Say you don't care about the energy loss heating the battery because you are charging at home, but you don't want to lose your range due to low efficiency.
One trick to do it is navigate to a nearby fast charger. Shut down the car go home. Remote start the car, it will continue the navigation and start conditioning. You might need to do this 2-3 times if it's too cold because remote start only works for 10 minutes
Thanks. Where does one find the software update to download and put on a USB drive?
Thanks for watching! You can find it on the Hyundai site. Just go to owners tab> Update maps. Hope this helps
Thanks good infp
No problem! Thanks for watching!
Tip #1 - Don't use an extension cord!! Seriously! (but if you must, use a short one rated for 15A)
There's no such thing as "A/C Coolant." But perhaps the Owner's Manual will tell you what that fluid is. It looks like engine coolant (anti-freeze).
Otherwise, that's a lot of good tips.
its for the HVAC system so he is not to far off
Think you need a new windscreen
It must be noted that not all Ioniq 5’s have battery pre-conditioning. Long-range rearwheel drive Ioniq 5’s do not have this feature. This is a critical thing and is the one thing I hate about my Ioniq 5. Not having this feature means that cold weather charging is an absolute chore to do at a Level 3 DC Fast Charger. Driving the car for a while before trying to use a DCFC does not help either.
Feature added on the long range SE in 2023, I have used in winter and summer.
I have a 2022 RWD long-range SEL @@azdan1255
Here's a topic: how to upgrade you headlights
Dude! Get that windshield fixed
Lmao I’m working on it.
So what the hell is pre conditioning? What the hell is a filter? You talk like we're all electric car owners.
My absolute favourite feature of Ioniq5 is the $60k battery replacement fee. Better hope you don't drive over a rock in this thing.

Misinformation.
Battery will be much cheaper after 10 years
Tip 0.: Sell it... Oops, the Internet will hate me now
Tip number one... RUN back to the dealer and ask if they will take it back. To think the battery will cost you more than the car brand new.
Ah, another "the sky is falling" type. The chances of ever having to replace the battery is slim. Much like the chances of rolling your ICE car and having to replace the entire thing. Live in fear if you like. I won't.
Untrue, I'm sure you believe it but it's misinformation.
Here’s a tip… sell that piece of crap before the $60,000 battery dies. The high voltage battery in my 2017 Sonata PHEV died under warranty when the car was only four years old with 42,000 miles. Hyundai refused to repair or replace the battery under warranty. I had to go through non lemon law arbitration to have the vehicle repurchased, which I won easily. However, Hyundai then decided to miscalculate the repurchase amount and attempted to underpay me by $2000.00. This forced me to go through arbitration a second time, which I won (again). The whole process took 18 months…No loaner. If you own a Hyundai…Sell that piece of crap while you can…
My bet is you are the same guy posting all these dumb get rid of it "tips" using different names. You haters are sad people.
My tip would be based on my last year experiences with this car: DO NOT! Buy it. Low quality car and many many issues which could not be resolved like charging at home or loose seats….just terrible!
Tip number one, set aside $50,000 for when Hyundai decides to force a battery replacement when a pebble scratches your underside.
Ah, yet another "the sky is falling" type. The chances of ever having to replace the battery is slim. Much like the chances of rolling your ICE car and having to replace the entire thing. Live in fear if you like. I won't.
Wait, which is it $50K or $60K? A brand new Ioniq5 SEL is now $39K.
Total misinformation.
Tip # 16 DRIVE A TELSA
That's why tesla better
Tip 1: Get a gas hybrid, step 2: .....no, that's it.
What a moronic comment. Gasoline hybrids are the worst of both worlds.
Why? I’ve had the Ioniq 5 for two years and 50,000km; see no reason for a hybrid.
@@bungee7503 make sure you have lots and lots of warranty and time to wait for a magical fix when this POS breaks down. Its a warning, you will ignore, when this POS breaks down I will laugh and laugh and laugh.
No one asked
@bitbat9 You somewhat assume I care, trust me. I do not care about ypuat all. In fact. If I met you in a dark alley you'd be in trouble.... just because....no reason really.
