- Hello and welcome to Saabkyle04! TH-cam's largest collection of automotive variety! In today's video, we will take an up close and personal in depth look at the 2006 Chevrolet Impala LTZ 3.9L V6. During this presentation, we will take a 1st person look at what the vehicle is all about beginning with the start up, performance data, fuel economy, the occasional track data, and build quality. Also, I will teach you how to use most of the interior and exterior features in a detailed fashion, that before, you could only get from going to a dealership yourself! Throughout the video, I will highlight key styling and unique differences about the vehicle, any available options, and of course it would not be an enthusiast car video without the good ole engine portion with rev and exhaust note with interior and exterior perspectives. A thorough tour/review of this car designed to give others a greater overall appreciation of the vehicle.

Me and my wife both have one. These cars will fly!!! Super fast. They're light as a feather. They ride and drive good. Great for touring
i like how he holds and inserts the key so perfectly at 1:13.
It was satisfying

For some reason, I find the 2006-2013 model year Impalas' design cute
they’re quite simple but a simple luxury; easier to maintain imo, isn’t as much to change rather than your usual oil, and just everything is easy to change.
@@jorgenvonstrangle000 POS Chevy Impalas
They all look the same to me 2006-20010
Same.
@@devinmczeal7430 because they were in the same generation range.
You be seeing these cars everywhere in the hood 😂😂
Savann Williams how many times do you need to comment on this video?
TheMW2informer I only commented 2 times, and it’s TH-cam. I can comment how many times I want to. So excuse you 😉
@@savann-gp2yz they be in the hood but they don't be this nice & clean!! 😂😂
probably not the ltz.
The LS version, with 268,000 miles!
i love the way it sounds i honestly wasnt expecting it to sound like that
I like the LTZ Impala Fully loaded with Leather
This is like my dream first car
Me too lol it's a great car to have as your first or second.
***** why just an ls trim, why not Lt or ltz trim or are there hardly any differences?
Same here
My dad has this car and it has 142356 miles on it
I've had mine since I was 18 and I'm 22 now, it's an awesome car
The best Impala Chevrolet ever made! I got one and it still running! It been 2 months now!
HW2800 is it still running strong? Any problems
Are you kidding.. This is the worst impala..
First, second, third and seventh gen Impalas would like a word
I just bought a 08 Impala LTZ with the 18" ten spoke wheels. Red Jewel exterior with black leather interior. Man, it is a sharp car! I'm coming from driving a worn out 99 Jeep Cherokee, so this thing is like a Caddy compared to what I'm used to. It makes me want to drive any chance I get. I think I'm gonna love this ride for a long time!
Josiah Hanna its it a good car? Have you had any problem I'm thinking about buying a 2009 ltz with 137k miles for 6k
@@p.capes1 Sorry for the late replay. I love the car and I haven't had to do anything major to it so far. The transmission slips sometimes upon takeoff so I may have to deal with that if it gets worse.
Josiah Hanna How many miles does it have?
I love my 06 Impala. I have the SS model. its a great car.
With 300hp, you bet your ass I would too! haha
There is the 3.6L which has 305 horsepower for V6. The SS was 303 horsepower for a V8. Your pick.....
@@JWiLLfoReaL 5.3 has 323 lb-ft of torque, 3.6 has 262 lb-ft. I'd take the V8 any day
phillip perkins I guess he is lol
Any exhaust clips?
I have a 09 Impala LTZ, same color and everything, but with chrome handles, different 18 inch rims and the windows are a little tinted (thats how it was when I bought it). Its a great car for sure!
I have a 08 Impala LTZ with the 3.9 engine and I get way better than 25 on the highway. She'll do 36 mpg at 60 mph. at 70 I still get about 31 mpg. Combined I get 26-27 mpg.
Thats strange I get 17 mpg even on the highway :/
nah wrong when mine was new it only got 29mpg now it gets 25
I drove a friends 2008 impala. it was a 3.5L and overall I was more impressed with that car than I thought I would be. the ride was pretty good and the damn thing was so quiet even on the freeway. the engine had good power and I barely felt a need to push it past 2000 rpm to keep up with traffic. no vibrations and the A.C. blew so cold. I'd consider one definitely I liked it.
form109 its awsome my dad owns one not impala ltz lt 1s jist impala which is now an aircab
just got this for my first car, 2015 but it's the old body style limited LT, love it, good on gas, love the radio, sunroof, nice rims too plus big trunk space when I travel
I got a 2014 same body style, but a LT.
Joe Luis they don’t make them in a 2014 or 2015 limited, you got bamboozled
Joe Luis maybe a 2014 limited but you don’t see any beside finding them at random pop up shops to sell them for more money
FazeTug Yeah, limited. Wish I had the spoiler and the five spokes. But I do have leather and chrome handles.
The Brave One so do I, mine is the 50th anniversary so I think that’s why mine comes with a lot of stuff but some stuff left out
I just got a 2006 impala LT same color but the inside is black with cloth seats and no sunroof and the same rims...i love my car!
We have a 2012 Impala LS as the family car. I drive it more than anyone but i just told my Parents i need one of my own. They have a lot of "Get up and Go" power! I caught myself doing 75 in a 45 mph!
I remember driving the base model of this car in Driver's Ed a few years back. It was better than I thought it'd be. Interior isn't impressive in any metric, but they're not very expensive cars nowadays.
I still got my impala! 07 paid in full. Still running like a champ
How's it holding up?
You always do such an awesome job showing vehicles. I've watch many of your videos.. Great job!!
What I like about this car is what I also like about the Honda Accord and Toyota Camry. And the Ford Crown Victoria. Easy to find, cheap to buy and own used, roomy and pretty reliable.
yes. there are videos of those cars, too
For 2006 this car looks really nice, but really outdated by 2012 - 2013.
i got a 2015 limited which is the old body style and I like it, does look sorta outdated except slight modifications like projector headlights and an apple carplay aftermarket radio with backup camera i got installed, really cool
Totally agree, they barely look better than 2000-05s, and they screwed up by making the monte carlo just a 2 door version of this car
I have the same car (same year) only it’s an LS. All it’s got is AC, power driver seat, mirrors, locks, and windows. Very very basic and I love it. It Currently has 220,000km (137,000 miles)
This was my dream car when I started driving. In drivers ed we had a new 06 Impala same color I think but only an LS. It always looked older which i liked. Now I have a Ford Taurus though.
My dad has this car it is pretty dang cool
I love the Impala!
They should have put a 3.8L 3800 Series 3 V6 L32 Supercharged engine in this car. But that's just my opinion.
that’s a smart decision. those 3.8s are great motors. but they did the ss as a 5.3. but the montes have the 3.8 supercharged trim
This makes about the same hp without the supercharger I do agree that the 3800 was a great engine this 3900 is also a great engine
Personally I wish they made it rwd or have an option for it.
I agree
+XG0WNLUK3X RWD is a bit harder for snowy weather.
+XG0WNLUK3X They need to just dump it, disgrace to the Impala name. In my opinion, the last true Impala rolled off the line in 96.
They need to offer the Caprice for sale for civilian use, or offer a base V6 for the SS. That'd more than double its sales having the cheaper V6 option.
Last good one was in 2005
I love my 09 ltz plenty of room handles great good gas mileage not so sure if I would enjoy a lower optioned impala but this one I’d definitely a keeper for me for the next cpl of years and then I’ll buy a 2019 impala premier!
My dream used sedan! Awesome job bro.
I just got my impala today and i love it!
i don't know why i just love this car keep up the great reviews
This was one of the first cars I drove in drivers ed during the summer at high school
one thing that kyle didn't mention is that there are 6 different preset lists that can be mixed around with the different bands... so there's no FM1 FM2, XM1 XM2, it's just AM FM XM, and the CD and AUX. We have the same stereo system in our 2008 Silverado LT Z71 4x4, and i personally love how we get to mix around so you can easily switch to a different band and favorite station with just one button push, and it's also pretty cool having 36 settable presets
These were made from 2006-2013 as the Impala, and 2014-2016 as the Impala Limited. There is something to be said of a car they made for 10 years. I was in love with these when they came out back in late 2005, I knew they would be successful but not built for 10 years successful. 🤣
that pre 2012 transmission though....smh
I wish I had this car. Its sooooooooooooooo comfy. Nice power, smooth ride, good stereo. Oh yeah.
hey Kyle this is a nice Chevrolet. my family drives all pre owned cars
Brings back a lot og memories. I had an Impala as a rental when I went to the States...
I just bought a 2007 impala 3lt it is awesome
The exhaust though I love it!
Everybody and they Momma got this car! This could replace the Buicks all the old ppl be driving around lol.
This gen Impala was our rental car while we vacationed in the Big Island.
I can’t decide which I like better. The 2000-05 Impala or the 2006-13 Impala. I think they both are unique.
All your car reviews are awsome Kyle! When you have a chance Kyle can you do a review on the Range Rover Evoque? Keep up those great reviews.
Great video as always Kyle! Nice Impala!
I bought the fully loaded 02 model and drove it 5 years and 48K with not a single issue with the push rod 3.8 CYL. It had 200 BHP. And had plenty of Go Power. Now the 2012 has the 3.6 found in the Camaro and Caddy and has 306 BHP and still offers great MPG. THE BEST PART is you can buy these loaded new for around $25K the LS MODEL Can be bought for under 20K NEW
Kyle can you do an SS of this same generation PLEASEEE
These are excellent cars. But my favorite generation Impala is the 96 Impala SS
I LIKE THE CHEVY IMPALA!!! MY FAVORITE CAR!!!! Thanks for uploading! :))
That looks like a new car 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
My Dream Car, Thanks Kyle !
I am in love with this car
I do like these cars and the 3.9 doesn't sound bad, but I would have to go with the 5.3 in the SS. The new ones have the Camaro's V6 that makes the same power as the 5.3 did in the SS, but I still think I would have the SS due to the extra torque.
حلوة اوى من جوة .عبارة عن كاءن خرافى
Looks like the same color as my foster moms but she died, and one of her nephews got it. Even though I love Impalas so much I'm not mad he has it.... Maybe I'll get my grandmas.
2006-2012 Chevy Impala
These cars along with any generation Honda Civic are EVERYWHERE!!!
automan224 Yeah, it's the vehicle that a whole lot of people like. One thing I don't quite understand though is, what makes the Impala an appealing car to a lot of people?
My friend has this car but its tan and I LOVE IT and I just want to drive it every where I go.
Thanks for the review man!
Nice ! I love the SS models too this weekend I'm going take a look at a LTZ can't wait :-). Good video !
I have a 2007 Impala Police 💜 I love it
Can you do a review of the 2014 Chevy Impala LTZ Limited and your impressions along with a test drive ?
Man I don't know about you guys, but I can’t wait until the 2014 redesigned Impala to come out in mid-2013, GM says it’s to be larger and more upscale than this generation Impala. Can’t wait :)
Old people love this car!
Just got a 2008 impala they drive amazing very good On gas !
My dad had one of these as a rental last summer it was an ok car. The engine had a punch but the widely geared 4 speed auto killed it. Interior was cheap feeling (this was an LS I'm sure the LTZ is better) but the seats were nice and plush. Stereo also packed a nice punch! Overall its not too terrible but I couldn't see myself driving one.
Thank you for your review.
Thanks for the upload very helpful! Hopefully I can make an impala ltz my next car soon.
I had this exact car but in silver and it gave me nothing but problems. I wish it was more reliable because it was a very comfortable ride
What do you do ? I Drive.
Now I know what to look for in a car
These cost about 2-6 grand for an 06 impale in Canada im thinking about buying this for a first car.. Should be reliable & last long considering they use these for taxis. I think its a very decent looking car not Beautiful. But u get a lot of car for the money. I could get an older Lexus 95-99 but they look wayyy too out dated this impala actually looks current.
+walih123 Run from these, don't walk. Taxis usually get the PPV package. Everybody I've talked to with an Impala has hated it and will never touch another.
+flyer2359x got a 2007 3.9L ppv (I think its actually called something else) but it runs like an absolute champ. 160k miles
+flyer2359x I'm the exception i have a '13 impala and I love the car
+josh summers this is also 7 years older man. they blow sensors like a boss. trust me I have one.
I haven't had any problems with my impala
Dam B my 08 Impala LT 3.6 Leather, Spoiler only 180k Got Totaled Yesterday. Got hit from the Back but It really wasnt that dam bad smh. But aye I aint complaining. No more car payments for me!
I like that these still had the option for a bench seat and column shift transmission. Last of the traditional American full sized sedans.
no, that would be the Crown Vic/Town Car/Grand Marquis as they used body on frame construction, v8 engines, and RWD. These are unibody, v6 powered, and FWD. The CV, TC, and Grand Marquis also had column shifters and bench seats. The Impala is also classified as a midsize sedan, and the Crown Vic is 12 inches longer than an Impala. The RWD, v8, and body on frame construction is more traditional. You could also argue the Dodge Charger and Chrysler 300 are the last traditional American sedans, since they still offer v8's and RWD, but they are not body-on-frame. So the TRUE last traditional sedan would be the Crown VIc, aka the glorious PANTHER PLATFORM
I like this car.
There she is ! Chevy Impala, the most popular car in a state of California. Nobody will be looking at you :)
This is a clean car still I was I could buy it 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
8:38 missed the butt cushion folds up also with under cushion storage! Converting my'11 LS model this weekend
Please do the same tour for the '00-'05 generation ! :D
This steering wheel remind the VW's ones in the same era..
I like this car 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Hello, is this engine and transmission good? or is it better than 3.4?
Come to Europe Kyle... Here you can find beautiful old-timers ! Especially on the Balkan peninsula ! :)
Thinking about trading an 05 colorado for one. I live in a very rural area with bad roads.
9:03 Chevy Express still uses these.
nice car!
These things have deceptive speed. Fast af
I got same one but the leather in white & it’s 2007 year car with 112miles on it for 3,400 from a elderly rusian couple best deal ever
the 2006-2013 and 2014 as Impala Limited is assembled in
Oshawa, Ontario, Canada
Sounds good for a V6
i love it. i want one
The interior illumination are under the auto dimming rear view mirror in the 2006 Chevrolet Impala LTZ.
Re 6:20
I think it has 6 "pages" of 6 present stations. So, you could program up to 36 radio stations on it. See the little number 6 on the far left of the display? It's on page 6 of 6 in this video. Good if multiple people drive the car, if you're in distant cities a lot, or if you want to separate your satellite radio stations from your terrestrial radio stations. Yeah, it should be set up to receive satellite radio too.
@Saabkyle04.. I Think You Should Do The Review On The 2013-2015 LTZ/Limited. Im Aware That You Did The New Body Style Impala LTZ Already But Its Only Right To The Review On The Older Model w That Same Crazyy Engine. I Would Greatly Appreciate That Review, Preferably Summit White!!
The new body style has the nav and touch screen equipment. The interiors are a beast but i only like the body of the LTZ's becuz they make it more sportier than the models under it.
That's my favorite sedan, it may run 137,833 miles on it
Loyal Chevy owners must have had a 'Holy S--t" moment when the '55's came out!
Is the 3.9 a pushrod or an overhead cam engine?
My favorite Impala model. This and the '00-'05
I gotta get me one so bad
Hi kyle, just wondering why are you allways pushing the unlock key twice? ;)
@saabkyle04
I was going to ask the same thing if you had a Impala SS from this generation as well. Do you have a Pontiac G8 GXP as well? Did the 2006 Monte Carlo SS have the 5.3 as well? Was the Grand Prix available in 2 door as well with this engine?
Wish we got some of this era Chevrolet in Australia just to change it up back then most cars were toyota, nissan, mazda, EU and AU built fords and GM Holden not much from other company’s and absolutely nothing from the US manufacturers
I love Chevy Impala LS 2006 Sedan 3.5 L 4speed with Neutral beige interior mid size sedan
Please do a 2006-2009 SS Model.
I want this car because of the movie "Drive"
