These impalas are special. I will defend that until I die. If you take care of it this car will drive until you’re old. & its pretty quick for what it has. Seriously underrated.
got one of these 3.5s with nearly 300k miles on it. had it up on the limiter for nearly 5 minutes the other night and it never hesitated and was stable the whole time. for what it is these are nice cars considering i paid $1000 for it and only put another $300 into making it safe for highway and higher speeds. (tires, brakes, fluids etc)
@@KaiGuy88 she still runs great, blew a serp belt off about a month ago but that was mostly my fault for ignoring it and it only took like 10 mins to fix. at 99k miles if you maintain it well you could have that car for a long while.
@@KaiGuy88 some common issues ive noticed with this car since i got it though, it goes through vent door actuators faster than any car ive ever been around, ive put 3 in since i bought it at 200k, wheel bearings are a fairly common failure but arent very hard to replace (imo if you can change a tire you can change a wheel bearing on this car). the blinker multifunction switch has a weird issue where the brights flash after the blinkers shut off if the headlights are on. easy fix just havnt got around to it yet. make sure you ONLY put dexcool (orange) coolant in it or you will corrode your heater core and radiator (ive put a heater core in this car and while obviously not fun it couldve been worse). also if you plan on putting a sound system in it chevy does weird things with their charging system, the alternator will only put out full charging voltage if a. the headlights are on. b the wipers are on, or C the battery is low. if none of these are on or needed then it will only output a charging voltage of around 12.8. all of this info only matters if your putting a stupidly large system in though and will not effect you in any way if not.
Have a 09 3.5 with 286k so what you said describes them perfectly. Paid about the same for mine. Very minor issues so far and most of them are just common maintenance issues. They are great cars for experienced drivers who want a power filled ride with minimal hassle or cost.
My 09 Pontiac g6 is very similar.2.4 liter and has almost 240k miles. Creaks and moans a little from age but runs like a top. Original engine and transmission fluid serviced regularly. Doesn’t burn a drop of oil between oil changes. Great vehicles
When I saw that 5 series station wagon bro was definitely in Germany. That’s a exclusive bet there that would sell like a beast over here in the US lol
The 3.6 in the 2012-2020 was far better. 300hp and a six speed versus the old 4 speed in this model. Still had to be a police model 9c1 to get a top speed of 150mph
I always thought that Chevrolet engineered this generation Impala to compete directly with the Toyota Camry and the Honda Accord. It's body lines definitely look similar to a 2007 Honda Accord. I have heard that some owners of this generation Impala have driven this car past 400k on the original engine and transmission. That's very Camry like, when it comes to longevity. I always wondered if this generation Impala shipped with an Toyota/Aisin automatic transmission.
An Accord will absolutely slap this Impala generation and even outlast it while getting 35 mpg on the highway. And no, the Impala with the high value engines came with a junk 4 speed tranny straight out of 1980.
I'm getting ready maybe to buy a 2010 Chevrolet Impala the transmissions out on it but the motor is good it really looks good he wants $800 for it I think that's a good deal

You can buy a decent flash tuner that will take care of the programing and boom limiter is gone but to do so usually costs about 300 usd pr more. For a good one

Ahahaha this was funny to watch! He only was able to hit 112mph because of the speed limiter. Get an LTZ or an SS and youll hit 140ish in the LTZ and probably about 150-155mph in the SS.

Mine is a 07 lt with the 3.5 very good car it's been good to me so far. It's a 231k with a rebuilt trans with 50 k on it and it's doing good.
the 3.6 L engine is sweet to drive. i have a 2013 ls impala. its got 300hp. Pretty sweet on the interstate me and my wife love it

I have an 06 3.9L monte carlo. Tops at 113 limiter but 7s way quicker getting there than the 3.5. My best 0-60 in it was 7.0. 0-100 is 19 seconds.

Just went over 320k miles on mine. Had to replace some things and it's looking rough, but engine and trans is holding up well!

Goes passed 140, but you need a computer plugged in to see. Speed censor reads up to 200mph but it's almost the same sensor in most gm vehicles.
