Don’t ever let anyone “ flush “ your transmission! Just drain and refill and change your filter. Flushing forces fluid backwards through your transmission! On an older weak transmission it can really do damage!

I agree. Drain it yourself replace filter only, or not at all. Its not broke dont fix it.

Sweet find man. I had a 2008 LTZ and now have a 2011 LTZ I use in a similar vein to the 2016 Impala you have. My truck was in the shop for a while so I needed a daily driver to get to work. Bought a cheap 2011 and fixed it up since I had alot of experience with my 08. Never tried the V8 but the 3.9 V6 always had a good amount of balls to it while sounding nice. The great thing with these generation Impala's are the parts are cheap and plentiful.

I had a clean 06 Impala SS in blue and I loved it but the trans is their weak spot and due to it being so expensive to replace because no shops seemed to want to rebuild it I was forced to sell it. Fast and fun til they break. A thing I read is that Chevrolet for some reason decided to put a very small refrigerator magnet in the pan that doesn't do anything for it. Most forums say to drop the pan and put a heavy duty magnet inside and that should help some so i did it but mine was too far gone.

    • @duhdoddlebug7317
      @duhdoddlebug7317 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

(i dont own one so my word is hardly any weight) if you are mechanically inclined heres something, if not take it to a professional.
what kind of noise whining, screeching, rubbing, or ticking?
Run a quick obd2 scan if you or a buddy have a scan tool, check for codes related to the parts that could make noise.
has anything became more difficult after the noise arrived?
Any new modifications or mechanical work been done? could be something like new bigger tires that need more clearance on the turn radius or a new tech at the shop who put something together wrong.
check power steering fluid, if its low check for a leak in the loop. if no leak is found top off top the fill line.
search forums for related information like is the steering rack prone to failure from factory or fixes. if you gather nothing the post a question on the forums.
i tried to help a little but more info is need to be able to help more, good luck and i hope you get it running good.

That hydraulic hose you ran over… the lift company I’m sure has it or… since you live up there in farmland country… you should be able to find a local that makes hydraulic lines and can repair or make you another one. It is sad that GM wasn't able to build a transaxle durable enough for a 5.3 Liter front wheel drive car. Over the years, I have owned a number of Oldsmobile and Cadillac V8 front wheel drive vehicles. The Cadillacs were Eldorados with 500 cubic inch V8s while the Oldsmobile Toronados had 455 V8s -- with over 250,000 miles on each one, I never had a transmission failure -- they each received transmission services at 30,000 mile intervals. One of the Eldorados, a 1975, served as my tow vehicle for my 26-foot Airstream, and even it never had any transmission issues. GM should have been able to build a reliable transmission for late model Chevrolet Impala SS.

Hi Randy! When it falls below a certain temperature outside the AC will disable itself. However the battery issue could be disabling it as well

Randy, nice! You should keep the 1940, Audi, and the SSR in the shop at all times.

Our 2007 Impala 2LT 3.5 has been great. Just hit 103K miles. Wonder if the transmissions behind the three engines offered at the time is the same one. I hear the 5.3 is from the trucks, makes 303hp. I like the wheels.

I like the SS and I think you got a nice deal. A valve cover gasket, 4 decent speakers and some cleanup will take it to the next level.

Let me save you the drama the Taurus will destroy the SS that 5.3 is not fast at all

Another common problem is bad actuators you have to take out the glove box and it’ll be right behind the radio
