Great video ! The missing features of the system are noted, and that's where our system shines with full control !
The removing 15 miles of duct tape earned you a sub and like. You had me cracking up.
Thank you!
Greetings from CA! I just set up my lights! Your video was fantastic! Added bonus it was great to learn you are from MN. I grew up in MN and I am still a huge Vikings fan.
Thank you for the comment! SKOL!! Enjoy your lights!
Get the curtains for your garage doors ‼️💯
That's super cool! Thanks for making a good video show casing them! I left my LED christmas lights up all year and there are sections that are out due to crazy midwest weather during the summer lol. It will be interesting to see if they stay up during the harsh winters, I'm assuming you're in MN... it gets real cold and lots of snow.
Fantastic video! Also SKOL! 👏 (even though times are a lil rough currently 🙃)
Thank you! SKOL! Gotta stay strong during these trying times. 😂
Stumbled across your video looking for reviews! Great stuff. DO you think the adhesive will hold in cold weather (think Canadian winters).
I think it will. I'm in Minnesota so I get the hard winter worries. It's 3M adhesive and 3M headquarters is about 30 minutes away. Hopefully they understand them too! 😂
This is great! Thanks for sharing this. Is there a lightning feature that many of the permanent lights are doing now where the whites in sections flash occasionally?
I'm not entirely sure but if it's not a pre-programmed one, you can definitely do a diy setting for it.
Great idea! Thanks!

I just ordered a set using your Bank of America Visa. I hope your card is good ;) lol Great Video!!! Thanks
😂😂 It's definitely not a valid card. But feel free to try!
Great video. I'm trying to figure out how to use them as accent lights but only at the corners of the house.
How do you diy to choose only very few specific lights?
Damn the exposed wires look like hell ! No wonder trimlight is better finish wise as expensive as it is
Hi. Trying to find out how to set up using multi patterns from with in the GOVEE app for out door lights. say start 5pm with mode -Festival-Christmas and to run for 30 min and then to stop that pattern and then for the next 30 min to run with Christmas Gift light pattern with in the app and after 30 min to go to Christmas Tree pattern for 30 min then to Sled pattern for 30 min and so on and to repeat those 4 cycles every 30 minutes for the next say 6 or 8 hours like to 1am or to 2am and then would shut off. i have been searching all over TH-cam but nothing available on how to do it. Any help much appreciated
Thanks for the vid......you talked me into getting these lights. Very interested in halloween lights and All white Christmas lights
You won't regret it. There aren't any all white Christmas scenes by default but that would be easy to program.
can you give us a breakdown of your layout, meaning how did you organize your light on your houre all on one strand, trying to figure out the best way to do mine.
I wish I could say that I had a plan..... but I didn't. I started near the power source and just went with it. I ended at the top of my house and had about 4 extra lights that I mounted out of view. Then I realized the extra strand leftover would fit perfectly underneath the overhang.
How to make jumps with the govee lights
Really cool. I wish these were out when i bought my Twinkly icicles lights for xmas years ago. I want the govee permanent ones but can no longer return the Twinkly and these things are expensive. Im curious though do your neighbors complain? I love lights and want to have them lit each night with diff themes but worry it might bother my neighbors. Peace
I've only received compliments from the neighbors!
@@dontburnthehousedownvideos cool. Im in New Jersey, ill see how it goes lol. Also i was going to order and found out they have a Pro version of the lights coming out this month.
Just in time almost Christmas Time you house would look crazy are they resistance to cold temperatures ?
They claim to be able to operate down to - 4 F. Where I live in Minnesota, we'll definitely test that. However, I may unplug them when the temps drop to prevent damage to them.
I’m installing 2 150ft stands on my house.. since they can not be connected, can they be programmed on the app together so if using some light settings they are in rhythm?
Yep! The app let's you pair up individual lights into groups. You can even use other light models from Govee to pair with these.
When you do DIY. how do you get them to move? Right to left..left to right...on and off...thx
Just for you my friend!

When installing under the sofit there are some ridges every few inches. How did you solve gluing them to that?
I either stopped just short of the ridge or spanned the light across it. Just depends on where it was on the string.
Hey did you got any information about working temperatures? I’m also in MN and I’m hesitating to buy them bc it says the working temperatures are -4F - 104F ; and we know -4F is nothing in MN
I haven't had them through the winter yet but once the forecast hits below zero I plan on unplugging them. No sense in risking damage to them.
Question! If I buy the 100’ old style and eventually want to add another 50’ (to not go above the 150’ recommendation) is it easy to do so without cutting, splicing? Plug and play?
Absolutely. To my knowledge, the power inserter and the controller are the same on both versions. But I believe the extensions are sold exclusively on Govee's website. You wouldn't want to buy the 100 foot kit now and then the 50 foot kit later. That would be a waste of money when you can simply buy the extensions.
@@dontburnthehousedownvideos yeah I figured that! But considering the “3 x 16.4 ft Extension Lights” are out of stock and run $150 right now lol I figured I’d get around that and order x1 50’ kit for the same price lol!
Fair enough!
Can you explain how you did the peaks without any excess i have 3 peaks on my home. 😊
A tall ladder! I used an extension ladder and had my step son hold the base while I climbed.
Makes me wonder if I’m over doing it with my installs. Your work looks great with very little effort. Good job. We are both trying to help the viewers with Govee lighting since you have to purchase extra accessories to get the job done👍
Also, the longer sections are broken into smaller sections. But the distance between lights is the same even at the end of one cord and the beginning of the next. It was just luck of the draw that I had almost the exact length I needed. At the very end, on the top right, I had 3 lights leftover. I kind of stuck them on the downspout pointing away from the street. The extension then went to the string on the bottom.
Can these be mounted on the back side of the facia instead of the soffit? Or mount them on the soffit near the facia? I don’t really want to see the bulbs when lit.
You can mount them anywhere you wish as long as they are out of direct sunlight. Just bear in mind that they are designed to cast their beam downwards to splash against the house. So your results will definitely vary. If you don't want to see them at all, you might want to look into rope lights or something similar.
Thanks for making the video! They look great on the house. One question - with the scenes in the app, can you create a playlist to move from scene 1 to scene 2 then scene 3 after a given time on each scene? Or do you have to do that manually on the phone to make changes through the night?
Thanks for the comment! I haven't found any way to move from scene to scene unfortunately. It's all done manually.
The new pro version at priced at 599.99 Canadian. This seems like a really really …..really expensive purchase. But im so tempted
I didn't see enough of a change to justify the cost personally. But if you get them, keep me posted on them!
Hey man, just wondering though but do you start with plug side or opposite? and where do you plug it in?
I started near the power source and worked my way to the other end.
So essentially, you started from the top and worked your way all the way to where the plug is. The trick is to work that way with these lights intead of plugging it in first then going? How would you go about it for someone new installing?@@dontburnthehousedownvideos
These don't plug in in the middle, they plug in on one end. That's one of the benefits. So my advice would be to measure out you're entire run to make sure you'll have enough lights. Then plug them in to power and start hanging them, working away from the power source. The segments are a short enough length that you likely won't gave a ton of excess on your strand when you get to your end.
Did u clean the surface before sticking the lights ?? If so what you do?? Just hose down the eaves then wait until dry ?? Orr
I didnt get it nearly that clean. I just took a damp rag and wiped it off. Mine were just dusty. By the time I wiped it off and took the backing off the light, it was dry.
The product specs say it works down to -4 degrees. Are you worried about them working in the winter?
Not really. I had the ground lights all winter long and they survived just fine. Also, I have the control box and power adapter actually in my heated garage (I routed the cord through the side door.) I think those are the the most temperature sensitive parts.
Where do you live? How cold does it get there in winter?
I just bought my first set of lights but not too familiar with the app. How do you make your own set of Patterns and save them.
Thank you.
That's under the DIY tab. My best advice is to click in and out of every option in the app. There is a lot to it and it can be daunting but you won't hurt anything, I promise. Just get familiar with it theiugh and through
If possible, can you show a video of how step-by-step? You did your 4th of July or anything of D. I. Y.
Thank you.
Question for you...I need to order 150' of these lights. How long are each strand before connecting them all together?
Each string is 16.67 feet long with 12 lights in each segment. They're all evenly spaced out so there's no extra cord at the beginning or the end. That's where the extension pieces come in really handy.
Thank you for the quick response! You did a great job with your set up. @@dontburnthehousedownvideos
Thank you!
So my house doesnt have eaves(i know). Are these safe to go under the gutters?
They're IP68 rated for waterproofing but I would be worried more about the adhesive staying alive if they're exposed to too much water or sunlight. They'll definitely work but I'm not sure for how long.
Can you just simply have soft white accent lighting for everyday use when not a Holliday?
Absolutely. That's what we use.
@@dontburnthehousedownvideos thanks for responding. I have been watching all these different videos but have yet to see anything but bright holiday colors as opposed to simple everyday accent lights. Again thanks for your time.
I WANT LIGHTS ON THE RIDGE CAN THIS BE DONE
How do you mean?
How many light light up on each segment?
There are 12 lights on each strand.
How long are the extension leads? I live in the UK and want to go up from my lower window to the roof
They're a good 10-15 feet long. I have another kit coming soon so I'll let you know for sure
id imagine the adhesive sticker will eventually fail thanks to the SUN
It's possible. However, the lights are on the bottom of the eve so they don't actually get any direct sunlight. Time will tell!
I got the reference god I’m old
You and me both brother!
PL? :)
I don't get it.....
