    I've had my mat now for a week. I went straight to advanced with direct skin contact. It wasn't easy! Body went into flight or flight, heart beating faster but after 5 minutes? Glorious! Euphoria! So happy with my purchase.

    The first time I lay on my new ShaktiMat one afternoon last week, wearing no shirt, my first thought was "I can't do this" - for about a minute. Then I fell asleep for about 17 minutes. Ever since, I can fall asleep on it even with the TV volume turned up and my wife's laptop blaring its own sound. It seems impossible, but this mat does a lot of stunning things to you. I couldn't be happier!

    I've been using my Shakti Mat (started with Advanced!) every day since I received it 5 days ago. First day I fell asleep for about half an hour which set me up for many more positive experiences! I always do 40 minutes and fall asleep for some or most of that time. So far, I am wearing a very thin, old T-shirt but soon I will probably try on bare skin. I love my Shakti mat! These videos are very helpful and informative about how to do different areas of the body. Thank you!

    I’ve had my mat 18 months. Use every night before bed. Back aches have disappeared. Also rotate legs and do pelvic tilts at same time. Finish with child’s pose stretching. Just this week purchased the pillow. Keen to make it work I cant recommend this product too much. Thanks to Shakti and my daughter for giving me my mat

    My Shakti mat and pillow arrived today. I did a 20 minute back/neck session against bare skin and then my feet for 5 minutes while standing barefoot on the mat. Each was intense for several minutes, but then a sensation of improved blood flow and ultimately muscle relaxation. That was in the early afternoon after which I worked out for two hours followed by a hot shower. Body has been a state of euphoria since. Looking forward to my session tomorrow!

      @@ShaktiMat1 ... 10 straight days now. 30 minutes in the morning with my back on the mat and the curved pillow against my neck and upper shoulders -- followed by a cold shower. I'm a semi professional musician and practice up to 5 hours a day. Much more relaxed back and shoulder muscles throughout the day. Rotator cuff issue all but gone.

    • @ShaktiMat1
      @ShaktiMat1  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey, David!Hi To use The Shakti Mat on your calves, thighs, and legs, I'd suggest: 1) Set your Shakti Mat on either a bolster or pillow. You can then lie on your back, lift your legs to a 90-degree angle, and slowly set the calves onto the Shakti Spikes. You may need to remove a layer of clothing so that you can feel the spikes on your skin directly. 2) Check out our TH-cam video tutorial here to see exactly how to use the Shakti Mat on your legs! th-cam.com/video/ugpE79XEjlA/w-d-xo.html 😊

      Thank you for your question! While there isn't a strict minimum time for every position, many users find that around 20 minutes is effective for most areas. However, feel free to adjust the time based on your comfort level and individual needs.

    I’ve had mine for a week or so, and I’m getting mild symptoms of yearning for my Shakti Mat.
    I got the Mat/Pillow/Headband Bundle, but I haven’t used the headband yet. (I’m a little scared of it 😂😂😂).
    I have noticed that when I am lying on the mat that my body noticeably warms up, and that my heart rate noticeably speeds up and I have to consciously try to slow it back down, and I was wondering if this is normal(???) - No pain/chest pain or anything involved here.
    Also, I wanted to asked how long should it take to gradually advance through the different types of Shakti mats(???)
    Greatly appreciate your feedback/experiences around this.

    • @ShaktiMat1
      @ShaktiMat1  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, There! Don't be disheartened if you're struggling to adjust to your Mat - this is extremely normal, and you are not alone! 🤞
      The Shakti Mat is essentially putting intense pressure on your back, which is causing increased circulation directly to the area. As you noticed, your pulse is a bit stronger while you're lying on the Mat. That's a normal sensation. You may feel lightheaded after Shakti-ing; we'd suggest having a glass of water. It's always important to drink lots of water before and after Shakti-ing. Similar to a deep-tissue massage, hydration is an important part of the process! 💦
      It's important to listen to your body and be attuned to its signals. Your Shakti Mat journey is a personal one, and there is no one-size-fits-all approach. You have the freedom to explore and experiment, adjusting the intensity based on your unique needs and preferences. Pay attention to how your body responds and choose the level of acupressure that feels most comfortable and beneficial for you at any given time.🙏

    Question about the poses Nico demonstrates in this video when applying the shakti mat on your calves and back of the leg: do you only 'sit' on the shakti for just a few breaths per target area? It looks that way in the video, but then I am wondering what the effect of the accupressure is when it is only applied for 2 minutes max or so.

    • @ShaktiMat1
      @ShaktiMat1  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, Tessa! Thanks for your comment. The length of one session should be 20 minutes, and you can try each position for 2-3 minutes at your convenience. During the 'teething' phase, 2-3 minutes in each position are good. You can gradually increase the time as soon as your body is ready.🤞

    • @ShaktiMat1

The Shakti Mat works on the principles of acupressure and can support relaxation of tense muscles, relief from discomfort and healthy circulation to the area which are some of the common symptoms associated with sciatica. If you haven't already, you can join the Acupressure Facebook group and hear from other people who have used The Shakti Mat with sciatica 😊 (search sciatica in the search bar of the group) facebook.com/groups/372702590038061

    Got my mat today, finding it very comfy to nap on. I have a lot of pain in my hip - do you have any position recommendations for hip pain?

    • @ShaktiMat1
      @ShaktiMat1  3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Hi, The Shakti Mat may be a great way to ease some of the tension in your hips. There are a couple of ways to target your hips and hip flexors. Using a Shakti Mat you can simply lie on your side. This will apply a lot more pressure than lying on your back as there is less surface area. Placing a thin piece of material, such as a sarong, will help ease the discomfort you may feel on your skin.

      Hey, Graham! The Shakti can be great for easing tension in the knees! I find the best way to target this area is by draping your Shakti Mat over the arms of your couch and resting your legs on it, or by rolling it around a towel and resting your knees on it!

I love this thing!!!!

    • @ShaktiMat1
      @ShaktiMat1  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, Greg! The Shakti Mat is not a registered medical device, so generally, we can't give any advice around this. The Shakti supports the body and mind through the modality called acupressure. The Shakti Mat is a wellness tool most often used to promote deep sleep and relaxation in the body. It's also amazing for muscle recovery and supports tight and sore spots. If you're concerned about using the Shakti Mat for Neuropathy, we'd suggest asking your GP before using it.

      Hi Sehlla - the Shakti Footpad is great for feet! Acupressure after a day at work can be incredibly soothing. Try placing your feet on the spikes with socks on, to begin with, while sitting on a couch. From here gradually increase the pressure by either standing or removing your socks. Aim for a 2-5 minute session 😊

    • @ShaktiMat1
      @ShaktiMat1  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      The Shakti Mat is great for soothing discomfort in the body, so we recommend you give it a go 😊. The Shakti Pillow in particular might be helpful for targeting the area between your leg and hip because of the round shape. Simply lower yourself onto the Mat or Pillow and start there for 3-5 minutes (or more if you can!) Doing this after a sauna or bath is the perfect way to double down on relaxation and soothe any tension. Let us know how you go!

    • @ShaktiMat1

      Hi Edward Ryan - great question! 😊 We recommend between 2-5 minutes to begin. As you get used to the sensation of the spikes on your legs, build up to 10-15 minutes. You will find different areas crave it more, and so you can always adjust your session depending on what muscles are tense, and how much time you have. But 2 minutes is a great start! 🌞

    • @ShaktiMat1
      @ShaktiMat1  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Robert, while getting on and off The Shakti mat, try to remain still and calm so that there is no movement other than straight-up laying on the mat. Even during the sessions, try to refrain from moving or changing position while being in direct contact with the spikes to avoid any friction. Friction causes tangling of clothes with the spikes, which leads to spoiling of the material.
      Hope it helps!🧡
