    I'm curious about trying this on the out side of the thigh, the IT band. That area is a problem for me.

      Hey, David!Hi To use The Shakti Mat on your calves, thighs, and legs, I'd suggest: 1) Set your Shakti Mat on either a bolster or pillow. You can then lie on your back, lift your legs to a 90-degree angle, and slowly set the calves onto the Shakti Spikes.     For many people sitting straight up like that can result in a back injury. Always roll to the side - any pain from the mat is nothing compared to a back spasm.

    I tried lying on my abdomen and after about 20 mins had the most insane surreal experience of muscle release (I think it was myofascial) where my mouth dropped on one side then the other involuntarily link when someone had a stroke except it felt food and my jaw spontaneously opened and I started laughing. It was so so weird and all these emotions flooded through me and it felt like I was being exorcised of all the tensions and bad emotions. It was almost like being on drugs. I've felt so good since - my jaw tension and abdominal discomfort had just been gone all day and night since. It was really uncomfortable for a while so if you want to try it you have to try and push through that. This was on the level 3 shakti

      I love my mat and neck rest - not sure what that this is called, but it’s like a spiky semi-cylindrical pillow. Bought them both four months ago, and they’re just great. I’m lying on it right now! It’s a great wake-up thing in the morning as part of my exercise routine and personally after about a week or two of using it every day, I have found it very easy. I started using the mat in the evenings, but once I got used to it, I ended up falling asleep on it. So I switched to mornings as I felt it was better getting me going at the start of the day. Slight surprise to me is that once you get used to lying on it on your back, you can also lie on it in other orientations, and it somehow doesn’t seem to hurt the way it initially did when I first tried it on my back. So maybe your body gets used to the idea of it as well as to the actual contact. The only bit that slightly hurts is peeling yourself from it at the end of a session! But I think it’s wonderful, and I’m really glad I bought the mat and neck rest - and hope my experience helps anyone else thinking of buying one.

    I have what feels like sharp pain from coughing a little too intensely when I had a sinus infection a few weeks ago. I don’t believe it is a hernia, but my question is, would this be good to use in this sort of situation?

    Got mine today...the 1st 2.5 mins was a bit painful but then after that I started drifting into sleep and didn't even felt the prickling. Initially I only planned for 5 mins. I ended up on shakti for 10 mins. I felt so relax and it made me feel sleepy, It's a bliss. Tomorrow, I'll shoot for 20 mins.

    My Shakti mat and pillow arrived today. I did a 20 minute back/neck session against bare skin and then my feet for 5 minutes while standing barefoot on the mat. Each was intense for several minutes, but then a sensation of improved blood flow and ultimately muscle relaxation. That was in the early afternoon after which I worked out for two hours followed by a hot shower. Body has been a state of euphoria since. Looking forward to my session tomorrow!

      @@ShaktiMat1 ... 10 straight days now. 30 minutes in the morning with my back on the mat and the curved pillow against my neck and upper shoulders -- followed by a cold shower. I'm a semi professional musician and practice up to 5 hours a day. Much more relaxed back and shoulder muscles throughout the day. Rotator cuff issue all but gone.

    The worst part is when you get off of the mat. Like your skin is teared off. Think I have to get used to that part, being a beginner 😅

      Hey @hennieboesveldable, we completely understand how getting off The Shakti Mat can be an exciting challenge on its own. We all tend to have our personal ways to peel ourselves from The Shakti. Some like to get it over with and sit up quickly (think of that way like ripping off a bandaid) while others slowly roll of it. Some lift up one side of the body, then fold the mat over (spikes to spikes) to lower the body, while others say that it is not nearly so stingy and sore if you try to get off slowly! Hope you find the best way for yourself!🧡

      Hi Hobbes, 1. Lie down comfortably on your back and place The Shakti Acupressure Mat on a flat surface. 2. Position The Mat/Pillow beneath your upper back, aligning it with the right side of your trapezius muscle, where the phrenic nerve is located. 3. Gently lower your body onto The Mat, allowing the spikes or nodes to apply pressure to the targeted area. You may adjust the positioning slightly to ensure proper contact with the right trapezius muscle. Please note that while acupressure may offer relaxation and potential relief, it's not intended as a substitute for professional medical advice or treatment.

    It took me a month to work up the courage to use my green Shakti mat. Yesterday was the day! Yikes! The pain was crazy but I lasted about 15 minutes. I ordered a pillow last night. I’m all in!

    I can’t get enough of my mat. The first time I laid on it I almost cried because it feels so good. I never have pain from it, just relief. I wonder if my autonomic failure has something to do with that. Thank you so much Shakti.

    Would it work to use the Shakti pillow underneath instead of a towel or blanket?

      Hi, Kim! I'd suggest you use a different item to support The Shakti Mat. the sharp spikes on The Pillow may damage The Shakti Mat if you were to use it underneath. A regular pillow would work!

    Bought my shakti after a recommendation Uncomfortable at first now after a few weeks of use my only regret is that I didn’t discover this amazing product sooner I genuinely feel 10 years younger So I would highly recommend
