How did they miss the opportunity for the BEST Star Wars theme knife there is?! Darth Maul! An OTF with red blades the come out the top and bottom of the knife! Two separate slide buttons and independent blades; open one or both depending on the situation. Don't care how much it would cost, it would be SO worth it for a two-bladed OTF with red painted blades! We need to petition Microtech to come out with this one ASAP!!!!
That circular design on the screws and glass breaker is called “ringed hardware” they use them on special runs and some signature series
one thing you can say about these knives is the y are the safest knives all round to use in most situations , most folding knives will fold on your hand , or you have to hold the knife with a weak grip around the opening port of the folders , so when u have a otf knife u can can get a proper grip and be ready to draw ..... boom

I own the jk ultratech and carry it all the time it is my favorite knife the coating on the blade is durable and beautifully done the action is smooth and no blade play love it
I was wondering how they would take care of two dark side knives they had to have to for the light side I definitely like their solution
Right on man, my UTX 85 comes tomorrow, can't wait. I totally agree with you about OTF knives being far safer than any folding knife on the market, or fixed blade for that matter. There's just no way to accidentally cut yourself reaching into your pocket or a pack even! Good review

what would of been really cool is if the StormTrooper knifes hilt was red with a black accent and called in the IK (imperial Knight.)

Agree with you on the SL (red one), but the Stormtrooper is pretty sweet as is the JM.
If I had to choose only one, would probably go for the JM.
I have been wanting knives to be like this for ages!!! But I wanted them to have replica hilts.
It would be cool if the paint on the blade glowed.
Could also put in a speaker with makes the humming and clashing of the saber haha

They did do a monkeyedge frag pattern textured grip a few years prior to the newer textured grips.
got the SL love it. now waiting for the JM. sadly the bounty Hunter was sold out when I wanted it
I had the Stormtrooper model and loved it. sadley, I found that otf's weren't for me. I did sell it and pocket some profit. Totally worth it though, cause it allowed me to get a Large Sebenza 21 Insingo Micarta Inlay. great knifes though if you are into otfs!

Bad choice. Should of kept the otf and saved for the other knife . But then again the storm trooper model is the meh 🫤 of the bunch
The sith lord clip needs more then just SL . It’s basically a regular model with a red blade .
Now I have a sl but it's done with the jm style grip hellhound tanto blade black grip with red hardware

Wow, not too much into star wars, but that first brown one you showed is NICE, and the price is way way better than most of the microtechs I have seen, 268 compared to what I have seen in the 1200 dollar range.. great deal! I may have to pick one of these up as last summer all of these became legal in Nevada.

That SL version looks beautiful. Specially my two favorite colors. But realistically how durable is that red? That red is just going chip away. Specially if it's just painted on or what ever

You should leave the clip tight. If you pull the knife out with pulling up on the bottom of the clip it slides right out .

I love the light saber ones, but you can't carry dagger blades in Texas. The Stormtrooper ones would be sick though

I wish they kept making the trigrip as an option.
I was on the fence on buying an Ultratech because a few have told me they were safe queens and not full on EDC knives. But now that you have given your approval of this knife, I am totally going to buy one!
Also what's your opinion on the Spyderco Paramilitary in S110V? Is it worth the wait and the slight price increase?
+Santa Jaws Depends. If you don't have any version of the Paramilitary 2 I don't think the S110V is particularly worth waiting for or paying extra for. Most folks new to it won't tell a difference.

As complicated as it would be, they should do one with bladed pop-out crossgaurd. Also in red, of course.

Would've been nice if the SL had the imperial logo on it instead of the microtech logo. The other knives have their respective logos so it makes sense they all should.

I was wondering if you had done any thrusting strikes. As in, if you need to stab something will the mechanism fail under those conditions?
I did not, no. I'm sure there are some such demos on TH-cam though.
you liking the tri grip? i didnt and sold mine to my buddy and got the older smooth...slab sided? ultratech. the tri grip was a lot more grippy and the smooth/slab's are more slippery and my blue handle has worn down the anodizing horribly from pocket carry. wish i just went black lol. thinking about blasting it down but i dont really feel like taking it apart. i also prefer the older spike with hole glass breaker. i didnt want to buy a separate tool to switch the pocket clip or even tighten it up. i taped mine up and tried to hit it with pliers and took a lot of the black off.
+jacob manalang you know what? i think my pocket clip caught on something and bent and i had to bend it back and thats why i didnt have problems with ripped up pockets LOL! thats why i had to tape up the glass breaker and try to tighten it with pliers
how durable it is when stab to a hard object?
Why isn't the tri grip all over the handle on the other ones?
I like a couple of these, but it doesn't trip my trigger that they're star wars related.

I have cut myself many times closing a folder. But have NEVER cut myself with an OTF knife. They are the safest EDC knives there are.

+LawlFakers That is the funny thing about OTF you just can't get them. Banned in rich countries, too expensive in poor ones.
I bought a Benchmade Pagan recently. I ordered from two places, but neither would ship to California. One required proof/evidence of being a member of the military/law enforcement. Finally, ordered one another company and they shipped me the knife no questions asked. Moral of the story if you look hard enough you can find whatever you want :)

no, that's why they couldn't put "Jedi Knight" or "Sith Lord." they also had to change up the logos a bit. the only reason they could put stormtrooper on there was because that term became popular after... I think it was WWI
