I owned the 3rd one to the right and I absolutely loved it....at first. Back home it worked like a charm and remained sharp and useful. However after 2 months in Iraq (2014) it became ineffective. I tried my best to maintain it with regular upkeep (i.e. cleaning out sand). I was able to keep it working for the most part but it was unreliable.
I bought UTX-70 at PA Knife Show last Saturday. I fall in love with UTX-70 a great lifetime! This UTX-70 cost me between $209.00 to $240.00. Yes those are very expensives. Great for women need that...
For microtech OTF series knives, do I have to use anti rust oil every time if the knife gets dirty or if water gets into the handle after washing the knife after cutting fruit? Thank you.

In severely disabled but I can take care of myself with the right tools.. Please help- any ideas would be welcome
Eric Johnson Try out pirrahnna knives co. They make some nice knives that shouldn't be illegal in most states. They are sturdy, good looking, and fit right into your pocket. I recommend the models, virus and or pirrahnna-X
I miss my Halo II. Sold it a few years back because it was illegal here. Now that Michigan has lifted its switchblade ban I can't even come close to affording one. :(
Get a AKC F-16 Italian made and very good quality for $50. Not like the Chinese knock offs. Very close to micro tech just lesser quality blade. But still a quality blade.
I want the utx-70 so bad. I have the ultratech t/e, and I love it, but I LOVE small knifes, and that little utx-70 would be even better for edc. Unfortunately, they're always out of stock, so I can never get my hands on them. My local knife shop has and still does have a utx-70, but I can't buy it since I am not military or law enforcement.

No, they have a fail safe in them and they won't fully fire if they come in contact with something. Though the Halo V would probably penetrate up to 3/4 of an inch on bare skin without fully firing
Even ones without safety, most double actions will barely penetrate, because they really only have spring power to deploy and retract the blade, and not much extra power.
The halo is the only one under tension and pressing the button releases that tension. Not likely to go off but it could. All others do not have any tension until you create it by moving the slide button.

Seth Adam you could flush it out with wd 40 and when it drys squirt a little ballistol in there. Prob kind of messy but wd 40 does dry up

That is the glass breaker which also holds the pocket clip on so not unless you want to remove the pocket clip.
Michael Murray it can be removed and replaced with a 10-32 x 3/16" Machine screw. I took the glass breakers off of all my MT's
