    Absolutely agree on the craft implementation being awful. I should not have to rely on video guides in order to actually use a block.

      Right!!! My excitement quickly turned to despair.. It's like the most complex block in the entire game -.-
      There have even been countless mods that added autocrafting. & all of them were nice and simple to use...... So sad so sad.

    Oh this is perfect. After having multiple issues with how this works I just went off the game knowing everyone’s got afk crafting for gold blocks and sitting there hours doing it. Literally made me quit playing but this should get me back into the game. I wanted to add one of some sort to most farms and even add to some like decorating the creeper farm in some sort of huge sugarcane farm that’s also automated making the possibility for afk fireworks and so on. Hundreds of examples could be created yet the crafter spitting out ingots instead of turning them into blocks etc is annoying. The system of it seems a little lazy on how they’ve added it is all but it works well enough for people it seems.

      I totally agree!!! I was honestly very upset when I learned how it worked. It is very very very needlessly complex and jank. I love all the new possibilities it brings, but it is insane what you have to build just to do simple things....
      Like at the end of the video I show an afk rocket farm, & it's just crazy lolol I tried to design it as compact yet straightforward as I possible could, but it still ended up being huge and crazy -.-
      Def great for gold farms though since getting gold ingots is super annoying XDD

    I like your ideas for improvements to the crafter. Currently I can only see using the crafter as a compactor for automated farms, though the use of the crafter would probably take more space than just adding more chests...

    • @OmLedu
      @OmLedu  หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      @@OneEyedOneHornedGian Exactly!!! My thoughts as well hahaha
      Like i can add a compactor to my iron farm, or in the same amount of space I can just add like 3 double chests lmao
      Now for gold farms on the other hand.... constantly squishing nuggets into bars by hand gets annoying really quickly X]

    • @CriticalCipher
      @CriticalCipher หลายเดือนก่อน

      Lets check that maths: without crafters you can store you can store about 3456 iron ingots per double chest Add a small 5 by 2 circuit to craft it into 31104 per double chest and if you make a small 5×4×7 shulka box maker that can store 46 thousand shulka boxes and so you never have to craft a shulka box again and this lets you store 839,808 whoch means 1 double chest equals 243 chest to store the same amount and this is 9 times worse for gold nuggets. Now for 2 comparators, 2 crafters and 2 redstone dust this seems like a fair system. As for more conplicated system you just need to use timing for th3 logic say by distrabuting items using hopper minecrafts but to craft things from gaurdian farms, or making rockets and such those are super simple and need nothing but a comparator and a hopper clock and a small and gate since most recipes from farms only have 2 items. Otherwise it's quicker just to use the crafting table which is the point, the crafter is not ment to replace the crafting table merely to do it's own thing in gettting rid of tedious tasks

    • @OmLedu
      @OmLedu  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@CriticalCipher That's also assuming you will run the farm for 10,000 hours lolol
      For most people they will never even need to condense any of the items on their farms. For others, a simple shulker loader or doing by hand once in a blue moon will suffice just fine.
      But for the rare few who do need the mass automated storage, I'm happy that it exists! Again, like in the other comment, I'm glad you enjoy it the way it is, & happy that the crafter exists. Just because of it not being user friendly or compact, it doesn't have a use in the average players' experience. & that makes me sad!!!! Not GOOD, but possibly "good enough" would be for the crafter to not emit a redstone signal for the first item on each slot. That would make things much simpler, while keeping the "spirit" of the current crafter pretty much intact.

    I agree so much with the zero out of ten implementation. I got so frustrated with these that I just stopped using them. The only thing I make is bamboo blocks.
    They require so much space to accommodate all the extra redstone.
    Previously it took me less than 10 seconds to take sugar cane out of the chest and make it into paper. So for a lot of recipes it seems like a lot of extra work for a little bit of convenience.
    I wish they would let us pick only one item for it to craft without comparators. I only want it to make paper. I never want it to make sugar.

      @@OmLedu that would be sweet. I already have a couple bamboo farms in my world that use observers and pistons. So I wanted to just change out the chest at the bottom for a crafter but as I mentioned there was no way to fit all the extra redstone.
      I wanted to have it make a bunch of pointless items just for the hell of it. I wanted to come back to a chest full of chests or sticks.
      The other problem I ran into is the bamboo farms cant keep up since some recipes require multiple autocrafters for example: bamboo>blocks>planks>chests.
      I had 30 bays of the bamboo pistons and most crafters would only have a few blocks in them.
      I guess the solution would be to funnel all bays into one hopper but then the new challenge would be making seperate auto crafters.

    I agree with the complexity of the auto crafter. I just don't know what could have been done differently that would not have limited how you can use it. I'm sure it can be done better. I just have not hear any specific thing yet.

    • @OmLedu
      @OmLedu  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@ClaytonHarbichTechnically, they way it is now, you could make some insanely complex system to have 1 autocrafter craft many different things. But it would be way easier just to have multiple crafters...
      If it had a crafting table UI where you select the recipe, that would automate the entire process, no redstone needed at all.
      If it could only craft items when all slots were full, that would simplify the redstone since you wouldn't need to prevent it from crafting nuggets, pressure plates or bars when like condensing iron.
      If it ignored 1 item in each slot, that would essentially allow you to manually input the recipe. So wouldn't need redstone to limit crafting & could even just program it auto craft when it had 2 of each item. Requiring no redstone at all.
      If it didn't drop items on the floor if the container was full, wouldn't need an off circuit.
      If like with all other containers, it had a signal strength of 15 when totally full, wouldn't need to have limiter circuits.
      I've seen tons of mods throughout the years add some form of autocrafting. Some were strange, others were good, but all were more user friendly than what we got :<
      All in all don't get me wrong, I'm glad it exists. It opens up tons of new ways to combine farms. Mainly by automating bonemeal crafting. They won't change it anyway, but I do wish it was more user friendly because casual players would have tons of fun making it craft silly things X]
      That would make me happy.

    Your idea of what the autocrafter should be is really really boring, the implementation is perfect cause it's not too easy but easy enough to make small contraptions. If all you need yo make a redstone block work is a hopper and an observer clock then you don't make anything, you don't usr your brain and might aswell as play in creative. The idea where you set a recipe was avoiding cause thats boring, now you can make it save recipes by taking a comparator output from hoppers and the output chest so it switches off when it's full and only crafts if items stack in the hoppers. Super simple, while the idea of just setting a recipe and it magically crafting whatever you set when it has enough is not a redstone block.

      @@CriticalCipher I'm happy that you like it the way it is! I just wish it was a little more new player friendly, and didn't have to be needlessly bulky. Building a 5x5x5 contraption to do something I can do by hand in 1 second just isn't practical :<

      @@OmLedu no redstone is user friendly, it's mostly an extra bit of the game that 99% of players don't even use or if they do they copy someone else design. I don't think it's un userfriebdly since like you said yourself people will craft shulkaboxss themselves and those are the most annoying things to craft so if people are crafting those by hand then they are simply not gonna use the crafter. And if it was easier I honestly think no one would really use them, like they already only take like 8 blocks to make a circuit for so like if thats too much then what ever you use it for can be done by hand. The conplaint I see with it isn't that it's not user friendly but that it needs other redstone to make work, your solution seems to be to make it a block that uses no redstone which is fine but personally think thats super boring, like saying they should make auto dropper/dispensors and brewers that use no redstone
      Which is kinda just lame in my opinion

And how would you personally implement it without it being too easy, cause if it's too easy might as well cut out the middle man and just play creative. I see the crafter like I see factorio where it is as use friendly as it needs to be to those that use it, it's design is only useful for making thosands of things not a stack, as mojang want people to still use the crafting table but wants to help those who don't want ti craft nuggets into ingots by hand when afking rhe gold farm so that they can give it to piglins, or to helo craft large quanties of items you use all the time like prismerine. So am curious if it was easier to use what would you personally use it for?

    • @OmLedu
      @OmLedu  หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@CriticalCipherYeah, no redstone would be the most noob friendly. But it's not like necessary or anything. I think casual players would have a ton of fun derping around with autocrafting if that was the case though. More fun than advanced players just using to condense mega farm storage X]
      It would make me happy to see casual players super excited all the time making random auto crafters all over the place for no real reason.
      But really even if it just had 1 of the simplifications it could be half the size. Like to autocraft rockets from a mob farm; as it is it ends up being absolutely massive for what it's doing. Half the size also means double the applications! Could fit it easily into different kinds of contraptions.
      Tbh though even if it was more simplified I wouldn't use it for anything except gold farms & maybe nether bricks. I don't even use shulker loaders 99% of the time because I don't have a need. I don't enjoy dedicated afk sessions for farms, or hording items I'll never use. My iron, gold, gp, etc all get used as soon as it's collected. So I never do any condensing at all, by hand or otherwise.
      Servers tend to do seasons, reset the world. So I try to balance time spent with time saved, and not be left with rollover items upon reset since those just equal time wasted. Even like rockets as an example; I would have to use/craft like 100,000 rockets during the season to actually save any time from building a rocket crafter on a mob farm. Since it takes 2 seconds to craft an inventory full and 2 more seconds to dump that into a chest. Or for iron; I use 1000s of hoppers during a season, but I never even need a stacked iron farm to supply my demand. I just build one at my base or at a project im working on so that it runs as i build. Never need more, but also never need to condense down into blocks. In fact if I condensed into blocks automatically that would actually waste time from me having to turn it back into ingots to craft stuff with it.
      Now some people I play with love love love the afk. As an example one guy has a 16 stack iron farm and he will def def def need a loader + crafter condenser. He never really uses the iron, but he loves the afk hording. And that's awesome!! I'm all for whatever makes people happy! Which is also why i wish it was a tad more user friendly. Casuals get happy over the funniest things & would have an absolute blast autocrafting silly things. But functionally, most players, even serious ones, are never going to fill up even a single double chest of shulkers full of iron blocks unless that is what makes them happy; the collecting.
      So again, it goes back to the crafter is super epic for those who need it. Is absolutley awesome for those who want to have fun & be creative with it.
      But all could benefit from just 1 simplification or another, not even the full crafting table UI. Even something simple would half the size of the redstone which would allow for even more posibilities!!!
      Plus make it less intimidating for casuals to mess around with. Allowing even more poeple to have fun & be creative

    • @CriticalCipher

      @@OmLedu alittle confused what you mean half the size, you mean like a half slab? Or you talking about the circuitry? Cause you only need 6 blocks including the crafter and 1 redstone dust? Heck you can get it down smaller to like 6 blocks total if you really wanted to and like how much time do you need to make 6 blocks? Also making a block like this that doesn't use redstone doesn't seem that friendly or intutive does it magically know when to craft? Like you make it sound like it takes hours to make a 4 by 4 contraption (size of one of my rocket makers slice) I can't see any one making this if ot wasn't a redstone decice, like surely you'd play with it for like an hour them never use it again as it's boring to use. Like my comparason earlier this is like wanting an autobrewer, and autominer that you craft from a mod and does everytjing for you with no effort. I've given friends full diamomd kits enchanted and they leave the next day as they get board as people tend to if you give them everything they wamt with no challenge. This block removes tedium and I think thats enough esoically since people who play lile you describe tend to play with mods that makes the game beyond easy in some ways and more challenging in others like RL craft where mining and recources is beyond easy. Will say is intresting seeing a different side as everyome else on youtube in this space says the crafter is the perfect emplimentation with it being fun to build things with and challenging new problems to solve with it aswell as it being useful to anyone who wants to make hundreds of stacks of items
