Interesting thing about people who are incredibly intelligent, many of them experience sensory overload. Being someone incredibly gifted like Anakin, he had a huge drawback that made it difficult for him to relax and take comfort in more simple things. That's why the Dark side called to him, simply it was easier to use his anger and frustration to fuel his potential rather than make morally just decisions.
Another fun fact: his suit was purposely made extremely vulnerable to palpatine's force electricity in case Vader ever tried to overpower him. And lo and behold....
@@drunkbastard3466 he is stronger. in revenge of the sith palpatine says “Vader will become more powerful that either of us” however the suit restricted him. He became so powerful that the only thing he became afraid of was Losing his power which eventually of course he did. Unfortunately he tried to kill his apprentices son, then his apprentice killed him. Oh yeah did I mention he was killed by a scavenger girl who swings her lightsaber like a baseball bat because of plot armor. Ironic he could shoot others with lightning but he zapped himself

@@misery3261 That moght be. I am just pointing out, how the video states thatbit is impossible for Vader to lift his arms over his head, because of his shoulder paddings just to say a few moments later, that he can easily lift a man above his head.
@Saurav Choudhary He literally says in his video, that due to his armor he can't lift his arms above his head. The armor is the limiting factor. It's like the batman costums which doesn't allow to turn the head. So yeah...of course with enough force and pain involved you could break the restrains of your armor, but shouldn't the armor then...you know...break?
@Saurav Choudhary It seems like you don't get the point. The video contradicts itself...it's just bad writing in this particular point. The channel itself is filled with great work. This is just a small dud.
He just can't raise things over his head because the shoulder pads actively block his mobility because of their shape, not just their weight. Also inconsistent writing
Well people have been known to lift cars to save their kids. Without the aid of a super suit. I'm not terribly strong, but to save my kids I've exhibited more strength than I knew I had.
@@justheretowatchtheworldbur6611 you’re missing the point. The video already said his suit stops him from lifting his arms above his head. Therefor he shouldn’t even be able to lift a human over his head, even if he’s strong enough.
@@jamesbizs 2:25. It made it extremely difficult to raise his arms to full height. Never was it said to be impossible. Also, my point was that he lifted the Emperor to save his SON. Parents can and do make nearly impossible things happen by sheer force of will and adrenaline alone under such circumstances. Now add amazing force abilities to that. That's all I'm saying. But watch the video again. I did. Just to be sure.
@@jamesbizs Raise shoulders to 90 degrees (perpendicular to the ground) and then flex at the elbows to raise something above head height. I think the problem here is not so much in Vader's history as it is in the way this channel described it. He doesn't have full articulation so doing some fancy twirl thing with a lightsaber above your head just isn't going to happen because he doesn't have the range of motion. Lifting someone up clean and throwing them off something however? Sure, no worries 😁
You forgot to mention that the suit was specifically designed by Palpietine to suppress Darth Vader's power to prevent Darth Vader from turning on him l. That was why the armor was made heavy and restricts mobility and speed. Every other aspect for comfort was designed to keep Darth Vader from noticing. Even the helmet itself is made to mess with his mind to make it harder for him to think and strategize. That's actually what makes him feel claustrophobic
I do have a book about Vader's suit, it was neat cause it told me a lot of neat things that I didn't know about it. Like the reason why he never runs in games and what not is cause his armor was so heavy he was never able to run. Learned that when I was 5. Also the reason why he could never force lightning was because of his robotic limbs
I always thought he used the force to block Han's blaster bolts, but then that power was never used at all across the rest of the saga, so it never made too much sense to me. Having blaster-proof gauntlets makes more sense!
I Am The Master Baiter yeah he sadly wouldn’t have faired well, Palpatine has said somewhere that Vader would only be at most 80% of his (palpatine) power, while if Anakin was in once piece he’d exceed him by many times over
And don't let this distract you from that fact that Darth vader is going to be running 3 Honda Civic's with Spoon engines, on top of that he just came into Harry's and ordered 3 T66 turbo's with NOS, and a Motec system exhaust.
It was designed to always be kind of uncomfortable yes; but if the suit was too uncomfortable poor Anakin would have died in a month, his internal organs would be destroyed of overheating. Not even the force can protect you from the feeling of being in a living hell.
Yeah, I mean, if Vader can't sleep, he should be _a lot_ more unhinged than he is in the movies. Not only should he have anger issues, he should have immense difficulty in thinking or even focusing, which should also inhibit his ability to use the Force. He should hallucinate regularly, and as such, should frequently be seen talking to someone who isn't there. He'd be a wreck - a walking powder keg with immense power but pretty much no control - not the coherent, intelligent, completely in control villain that we see.
The fact that his suit could have a lot more advanced, but Palpatine opted for a cluncky one just make the character a lot better. First that any other being on a tight suit with loud breathing, itching skin and rendered movement would go insane. If he was a Sith since the beginning probably he would loose his mind, but since he was a Jedi before he was trained to calm his mind. Second that again, rendered movement. He can't move his hands above his head if he wanted, his lightsaber is heavier to a point he needs to hands, he can't do flips or run, he can't do a lot of shit and HE STILL won almost every battle. The only ones to master him was Palpatine with force lighting in his vulnerable breathing system, Starkiller because he's fucking Kratos from SW universe and Master Luke, which he held back and legitemaly got scared when he raged after him.
If he required synthetic skin grafts, he wouldn't feel anything including itching as the nerves would've been burned as well. Also it would make him unable to sweat.
This is excellent . I will say it is so ironic how this suit keeps him alive yet is also like a tomb, and the look on Anakins face as his mask lowers over to cover it for the 1st time? A look of pure horror and perhaps realization of his error(s).
That was probably implemented out of necessity, he wanted Vader to being unable to overthrow him in a fight, but also he didn't wanted to turn him into a vegetable; Vader would die without some kind of climate control.
Don't let this distract you from the the fact that in 1966, Al Bundy scored four touchdowns in a single game while playing for the Polk High School Panthers in the 1966 city championship game versus Andrew Johnson High School, including the game-winning touchdown in the final seconds against his old nemesis, "Spare Tire" Dixon.
The poor guy, that suit didn’t even moisturize his skin. That’s important when you have skin as badly burnt as Vader’s because the pores in your skin produce oil that keeps your skin moist and pliable. Without those oils your skin will crack and in effect become chap.
My favorite fact about the suit is a small random factoid I think I saw in one of your earlier videos and that would be how Vader’s suit could provide nourishment and remove waste for him. My very young son saw this video, and he has some serious medical issues that revolve around this type of issue. He was absolutely floored that a badass like Vader could have problems like him and it never slowed him down. In a small way it helps him not feel so different at times and to be more confident. It is such a small thing thing - but it made a huge impact on a little boys confidence.
Some of the things I don’t know if they’re sure but that I’ve heard, is that Vader’s suit greatly dampened his force abilities and also made him exceptionally susceptible to lightning and electricity. Both of these were Sidious’s way of ensuring he could contain and control Vader even though Anakin was massively more powerful than Palpatine or anyone else in the Star Wars universe.
Vader has already lost so much potential he was 80% of Palpatine when Obi Wan severed his remaining limbs. The suit actually severed the opposite purpose (except for the susceptability to lightning). The discomfort kept him constantly mad, and powerful emotions strengthen your connection to the dark side
It's a fantasy. Choose whatever stories you like best and ignore the others. There is no real Vader, Palpatine, Force, or Vader suit to actually know anything about.
@@skeptic_lemon Ok, how DOES it work, then? Did Lucas or his team have any of this in mind when they originally brought Vader to life in Star Wars, or have all these ideas been added on after the fact to create a backstory that isn't really necessary?
This is how it feels to be Anakin Skywalker, *forever:* You can hear yourself breathing. It comes hard, and harsh, and it scrapes nerves already raw, but you cannot stop it. You can never stop it. You cannot even slow it down. You don't even have lungs anymore. Mechanisms hardwired into your chest breathe for you. They will pump oxygen into your bloodstream, forever. - On Anakin's rebuilding.
Thank you so much for posting this, I was thinking of this exact scene all way through the movie. Revenge of the Sith novelisation is a truly spectacular book. 😊🥲
My understanding was the Grievous preceded Vader and was like one of their first attempts to create a cybernetic/human hybrid, but they didn't get it quite right which is why Grievous always had the wracking cough. So Vader was more like a 2.0 version
3:41 only he doesn't sweat because his sweat glands would have been completely destroyed, but the suit definitely would have had to regulate his body temperature because it couldn't do it on his own because of that reason.. good video though!👌👌
Fun fact related to number 7: it's not only that the suit is hot, amputees do actually have a harder time regulating their body temperature. That's because the body gets rid of excess heat through the skin, and with limbs missing you naturally also have less skin to utilise for cooling. (Not to mention that most of his remaining skin is also burned to a crisp.)
The most important feature is that the suit keeps out the SAND we all know Anakin hates sand it coarse and rough and irritating and it get everywhere...
George Lucas watches videos like this and says, “Dudes, I painted a firefighter’s helmet black and dressed him in a onesie. WTH are ya’ll talking about?”
Mike -_- nope it really isn’t difficult for Vader, even the wording he uses in the video says relates to this, the problem isn’t the weight really, just how it’s positioned on him, if two metal plates are literally pressing together, it’s hard to work around that either finding that one position where you can make it work, or literally forcing the plates to bend to allow you to, it’s range of motion rather then lacking the strength to do so, plus 25lbs is nothing for any force user, talking about people who can casually move multiple tons of debris
The REAL most obsessed Julie of the arts Fan! GOT, STAR WARS, HUNGER GAMES, HARRY POTTER, LORD OF THE RINGS, CHRONICLES OF NARNIA. These were all the films that you mentioned in this cryptic message.
If he’s lifting someone over his head, I imagine he’s a lot more anger driven than just using his lightsaber: which was a daily occurrence to him. It never said he was incapable of it, but that it was uncomfortable and difficult. There was no need to make himself struggle and be uncomfortable when there really was no need to.
Jesus how many people just cut off my man to make him sound like an idiot. If you actually cared about anything other than making someone look like an idiot, you would realized he said that he couldn't do it without extreme difficulty.
Curtis I mean you just straight up ignored the fact that he *Can* do it, just not without some difficulty which can be remedied with guess what? *The suit and the force*
@@EBTS-3 He has no sweat glands tho because his sweat glands are literally burned off. So he can't even sweat. One reason more that the suit needed to cool him down.
@@EBTS-3 More like half rotten flesh. Ever driven past a rendering plant? I'd think it's a milder form of that. Quite appropriate for Vader to carry the stench of death but maybe the suit dealt with that. Might be difficult to command respect if you stink like that.
Wait... It's extremely difficult to lift his arms up over his head because of the 25lb shoulder pads but yet his suit gives him inhuman strength and lifting people over his head is no problem??? Suuuuure....
I get that anger strengthens the dark side but I feel like constant itching and pain would kind of counter act this due to how distracting it would be.
I love how the suit was originally just thought of as a cool piece of armour for the bad guy to wear but then a whole dark backstory was written about why he wore it
P77777777 no, that’s what people thought before the backstory. I mean if you recall in return of the Jedi when luke took his helmet off, he was pretty fucked up underneath. Implying that the suit was he’a life support
@@0311tard Well I think they might've started thinking of the backstory around that time. You cant have a cool ass villain and then just kill him off without explaining anything about him
"Lord vader... don't you have to use the bathroom?" "Uh no, even tho i havent poopes in 30 years.." "Yeah i think we might have to build a bathroom..."
The explanation is that there's a waste recycling system integrated into the suit. The system is the same as the ones used by long-haul asteroid miners, so it's pretty reliable.
Bolek Lolek Well like he said, it was so that he could really do it. But that just shows how much he despised Palpatine and how much he wanted to do it
👍👑 I heard that Vader's suit was graciously donated by EA Games, although anytime he wants to use one of the suits features he has to make a microtransaction I am groot
Nah, they still charged up front for the life support though that needs maintenance so for the next iteration they'll switch models to an upfront + ongoing cost + lootboxes
Better yet, if any of Vader's body parts is heavily damaged EA only give random star card or loot boxes that probably won't match the parts he needs most, so he will need to make multiple microtransaction until he can get the parts he needs.
But isn't there a rather sizable leap from barely being able to lift a lightsaber over his head, to lifting a grown man with ease? I'd think that even if he could lift the lightsaber above his head with great *ease*, tossing human bodies around in combat would still be a whole other bag of salty peanuts.
Well considering he saw his own son beg for his help and then giving him memories of all the pain palpatine cause to him it would kinda tip you over the edge and he could bare the pain for a couple of feet
well, he did also tilt his upper body and head bag while he carried the emperor those few paces, and his arms were still bended, that's different from putting your arms quickly over your head e.g. for an overhead downwards strike in combat
LOL “Shoulder armor was so heavy that it made it difficult for him to raise his saber” “Suit gave him super human strength, lifting a human over his head was no problem”
I would love to see a short video on Darth Vader’s surgery in graphic detail and to see how every nerve was connected to the suit. I know Star Wars 3 shows this very briefly.
What I find interesting is that anakin didn’t turn to the dark side cause he was horrible person. He had dreams of his wife dying in child birth. Who wouldn’t go just about any kind of extreme to prevent that? Palpatine convinced him that he could save her from death if he learned the ways of the dark side. I’m quite sure everyone has seen the movie revenge of the sith. But that’s just interesting to me. Anakin was this sweet little boy in the first one and as he grew older he loved her. He just didn’t want her to die😢❤️❤️❤️❤️. That’s really true love 💕

@@JOOKST3R he wasnt. That potential was destroyed forever by Obi-wan, George himself said it many times. He explicitly said it could be done with great difficulty. I don't think it's crazy enough to believe that difficulty was a non-issue at the time.
The Force helped him
@@misery3261 That moght be.
You’re telling me his strength lets him lift a whole human over his head but he can’t lift his damn lightsaber?
He just can't raise things over his head because the shoulder pads actively block his mobility because of their shape, not just their weight.
Also inconsistent writing
Well people have been known to lift cars to save their kids. Without the aid of a super suit. I'm not terribly strong, but to save my kids I've exhibited more strength than I knew I had.
@@justheretowatchtheworldbur6611 you’re missing the point. The video already said his suit stops him from lifting his arms above his head. Therefor he shouldn’t even be able to lift a human over his head, even if he’s strong enough.

He should hallucinate regularly, and as such, should frequently be seen talking to someone who isn't there. Tantalus010 have you guys forgotten what he is? He is a Sith Lord and before that he was a Jedi.

Our docters won't stop thinking if they can but not if they should.
Can't lift hands over head, yeah sounds reasonable, 2 minuites later, inhuman strength lifting emperor palputine over his head is no problem...what!?
euan todd The key words are, "without incredible difficulty." He could do it, but it took much more effort than normal.
Palpatine 🙄🙄
Love how a 4 second scene gets NOVELIZED into 300 pages of cannon.....groovy.
dis video and dis videos thumbnail is a trippppp fr
4:06 Did obi wan just yeet Anakin’s not so dead corpse into lava?
Yep he yeeted him into lava
LOL
“Shoulder armor was so heavy that it made it difficult for him to raise his saber”
“Suit gave him super human strength, lifting a human over his head was no problem”
The whole video is a mess
Confusion 5000
Ujuani Abelsen damnit! Are we even sure he has it anymore?!
The whole video is full of contradictions
Maybe its like Dragon Ball Z when goku trains on stronger gravity
I would love to see a short video on Darth Vader’s surgery in graphic detail and to see how every nerve was connected to the suit. I know Star Wars 3 shows this very briefly.
What they didn't show is that the operation lasted days and the burned skin had to be removed.
chamoo232 I would have loved to see that detail done :)
Until he chokes her while she’s pregnant 😢 all love was lost, only possessiveness and blinding jealousy/rage.
