These videos with others on the track are by far the most enjoyable videos. Watching you get around others gives the best experience visually to your speed. I think it also servers well to showcasing the cars ability. Not to mention your ability to go closer to the cars limit then others is fun to watch.
Christian Augustin Safety. Need to be able to clearly communicate a pass, and in the case of an accident, safety stewards need to be able to pull you out of the car. Regardless of what the TH-cam commentariat says, it's a much safer means of handling a track day.
@@finddavid7 I just test drove a 2017 stage 2 car. I couldn't stop laughing at how normal it looks, but how quick it is. My wife called it an angry little bulldog.
Literally, half of those who comment are just plain uneducated. Matt is driving an 11 second car on a road course like a boss. 11 seconds is extremely fast, whether most of you Saturn sl1 drivers believe it is irrelevant.
Talk about a video right up my alley. Rolling in a stage 2 Volvo S40 T5 AWD presently and a no-compromise step up to an S3 has always sounded good to me... after seeing one speced out exactly how I would handling itself beautifully - on my local track no less - the finances will be re-evaluated very soon.
Thanks for posting this! I particularly liked how it showed the S3 could beat a heavier car with the same HP (the Macan) by being able to brake later, and then moments later beat the BRZ using HP on a straightaway. Good showcase of the modified S3's range.
Garzanberg Tempered glass can break if you get hit. If I can break it with a hammer, another car slamming into you would do it as well. It's a safety thing or it wouldn't be such a big deal.
012antrode So you can wave other cars past. On tracks in my country you use your indicators so you don't take you hands off the wheel which in my opinion is a lot safer
Yup, I've been telling people it's great. It's not like most modern turbo cars where it just picks up a bunch of mid range it also picks up a decent chunk of top end.
For those of you that want to keep your warranty and not Flag TD1 codes use DTUK chips. stage1 equivalent to Revo/apr maps(380bhp/420lbft with apr intake) Very impressed with this APR. if you could find a way to Map the car without flagging the TD1 then I would of gone with yourselves this time.
Vern B audi was some of the worst brands you could buy back in the day(80s & early 90s). absolute...garbage. always something wrong..and they rusted like they were Chinese made. their cars nowadays are maybe fantastic for all I know. things change over time so..
Awesome video! I've started seeing a lot of these now (I work at an Audi/Porsche dealer) and I've been curious as to what kind of magic APR can do to these things... Once again, I'm not disappointed.
Jeff K I tried a few different options, all with negligible increase in performance. if you can recommend a specific mic that plugs into gopro and won't be affected by electrical interference like the others I've tried, I'm open to suggestion.
TheSmokingTire I use a cheap ATR-3350 lav mic attached to the GoPro HD3 Black in our Right Foot Down videos and I think the audio is good. Might give that a try.
TheSmokingTire You could always get an audio recorder and mic up to that. You can get a Zoom h1 for $100 and it'll fit in your pocket, or in a cup holder or whatever. Then you just have to composite the audio recording from that onto the video in post. A little extra hassle but could be worth it.
Sothasilenium we did that too but found a lav mic is still required and with the GoPro it picked up voices well and the car audio too. I'd like to try an H2 with a lav mic on myself and another routed near the windshield for best of both worlds.
Jue_boy same chassis, motor, and trans as the mk7 Golf R. They are very quick cars compared to the older models. APR has a few stage 2 cars (like the one in this video) running 11.7s on pump gas and street tires.
Jue_boy Yeah, I think even better might be the supped up version of the TT. I have a GTI and love the platform, it really does deserve all the awards. Having the bottom end sport version of the platform makes look at the S3 and TT and go Hmmm.
The TT has the same motor as the GTI not the same motor as the S3 and Golf R. Now the TTS has the same motor as the R/S3. The MQB platform has been a great platform so far and responds to mods very well.
RB26 likeaboss Safety Issue. Makes it easier to get out of a car ( or be pulled out) in case of emergency. I'd like to know why they want the windows down at all times.
I believe it's to 'wave' people past safely
***** that would be such a stupid rule. letting people past by letting go of the wheel? why not just use the indicators, it works on the nürburgring
