There is nothing like the feeling of a home made fix. I once fixed a header exhaust leak on a '68 Fury using the bottom end of a beer can. Cut the middle out and made an aluminum ring gasket. Engineering at its finest. Felt so good, I had another beer ! Nice ride Cuz !
to be exact my 3" pipes stock baffles no mod, were too loud like a spaceship, after about six weeks of riding they become quieter (richer) better engine feedback, less smoother than before. I liked it.

I have seen some steel (such as intake manifolds) that came raw and can be buffed and shine to damn near chrome. Ur friend is right, and this is how all garage enthusiasts buff their stock parts on a dime to make them shine! Did u ever end up doing that to your rear rim? I think that would be much better than say, replacing the rim entirely.
Hey Bro. WHat did you do with the oxygen sensors. I have a 2015 M50 and just put the drag pipes on it. I disconnected the o2 sensors and added a "cobra fi2000 digital fuel processor", and the F1 light is on. The bike runs great though.
I didn't do anything it adjusted itself it, was stock when I started out, I guess you can say I was in range I didn't go out too far, so it just adjusted itself
I believe I went on line to and selected the cobra slash down pipes, I really can't remember what store, but just be sure to chose a well known store. I paid I believe around 375.00 for mine, just research it, you'll be fine.

He is hunting for that sweetspot between loud and just obnoxious. And I get it, I do love the sound of open pipes myself if I am revving at a parking lot or such but when on a highway and driving a steady speed the static drone does get old fast.

Doesn't it restrict the air flow out of the exhaust making it a little less powerful?

No its still the same since I put the gangster fender on the back it made the difference.
