You state repeatedly that it is a good beginner's bike. I would like to add that it is also a great choice for an older rider who wants a full size motorcycle that is lighter than some of the heavyweight bikes. At 70 years old, I have no problems handling my 2005 C50T Boulevard. Before purchasing this bike four years ago, I did a lot of research and found that this thing is bulletproof. They just don't cause any trouble when properly maintained, and I like that a lot. Hope you enjoy your Boulevard as much as I do mine. Ride safe!!

My thoughts exactly. I'm 65 and looking to downsize and an easier bike to flatfoot than my current adventure type VStrom 1000xt. And comfort becomes the major consideration. This is my choice as I have total confidence in the Suzuki V Twins.

I just bought a Suzuki Boulevard C50T, 2005. It's my first bike. I am 5'2". I also have a 28" inseam and I love the comfort of the bike. I also have gel seats and cobra pipes on it. I am looking forward to getting out riding and see how it handles. Great video and I am happy to hear it's a recommended starter bike for some of us who would like a bigger bike. Cheers from Alberta, Canada 🍻🇨🇦

At nearly 72 years of age, I can say without reservation that this is an outstanding motorcycle. Its size and looks remind me of some bigger Harleys. The weight is under 600 pounds, and the power is more than the average man or woman needs to have fun riding. Walking up on this bike looks way more significant than expected, especially since it's an 805 cc bike. Overall, this is a fantastic-looking riding motorcycle, and you don't need to apologize to anyone for it. By the way, I've owned a beautiful mother-of-pearl chromed to-the-gills Harley Roadking. Just ride!

As an owner of a FI-operated VL800 2009 model (owned one since 2009 till 2020) and a carburetor-operated VL800 Volusia 2003 model (bought one last year and later gave it to my GF, when I bought myself a US-imported 2007 model of Boulevard C90T) I think I can safely state, that this bike is a true gem amongst cruisers.
Here, in the EU, it was marketed as a "city cruiser" and though it looks really big and fat, it handles very easily and feels quite light to maneouvre without the engine. Its dry weight is around 240kg / 530lbs, curb weight is between 260kg / 570lbs and 265kg / 585lbs (both depending on year of production, of course). Periodic low cost service check & maintenance every 6000km / 3750mi keeps this bike ultra-reliable - I haven't had a single failure or even a problem ever - and not even heard about any issues from other VL800 / C50 riders. Its 45deg V-Twin liquid-cooled 805ccm engine (so hot summers are not an issue) on top of a quite short, 5-speed gearbox is ideal for riding in the city and cruising the countryside roads (as gearing up can be done at 20+ 30+ 40+ 50+ kmh, but immediate power at the turn of the throttle is still there until around 120kmh / 75mph). Yet, it is also perfectly capable of handling highways at speeds of over 140kmph / 85mph, fully loaded and with a passenger in the rear seat. The range of above 300km / 185mi is sufficient, with FI-operated models being slightly more fuel efficient. Also replacing metal parts with plastic ones on newer models made these lighter and thus even more economic to ride (btw therefore, since 2005 with FI introduction, the tank got shrunk from 17l / 4,5gal to 15,5l / 4,1gal).
From experience I need to add, that even after 70000 km / 43500mi the engine was still in perfect condition and the clutch-plates were barely half-way through their life. What more could you ask for, from reliability and cost perspective? 🙂
Lastly - when I ocassionally park my heavy C90T and then re-saddle onto my GF's VL800, it feels like a bicycle to handle - but I haven't experienced any feelings of a 'downgrade' a la "weak, underpowered, slow", but more of those "lighter, nimbler, more friendly" ones. Enough said, I think.
    Ride hard & ride safe.

I'm 47 years old and amputated my right leg in 2022. I got hit by a car in 2019. I've had many bikes before, like Harley's, Pan European, Vulcan etc. most of them big bikes. Now I wanted a smaller cruiser that I can reverse with easier and handle because of pain in my knees. So I picked up a 2006 M50 last year with only 6000 miles on it. I also wanted a bike that was low maintenance. So the M50 is perfect for me. Great for new and experienced riders.

60 year old man here - bought my first bike for my birthday. Suzuki C50. I LOVE IT. I'm 6', 285. It feels great! I paid $2,200 for it and I tore it all apart, lubing all 3 parts on shaft drive, new brakes, oil/filter, air filter....I enjoyed doing this over the winter. I just LOVE my bike. Great first bike. If I crash it, I crash $2,200. Maybe someday will be a Harley or an Indian....but today and for the foreseeable future, it's the Suzuki

    Dirty Charlie
With 55yrs riding at 70 yrs old I whole heartedly agree with ReallySanta. This bike is an excellent choice for any caliber of rider for most any reason. My wife and I bought a 2022 C50 while on a short vacation in July 2022 and I just love my C50😊 and so does my wife. It's as tough as a GA Pineknot and reliable. It was priced right and very comfortable to ride! I've added a batwing fairing and windshield, aftermarket pipes and a K&N Airfilter. It will go anywhere you want but I don't particularly like the Interstates though. The only thing I don't like is the Oil Window for checking the oil level. You just can't go wrong with this bike!!!

The C50/M50 isn't just a beginner bike. It's a GREAT all-around package for any rider. Brilliant machine. Its a pity Suzuki decided to drop it in favour of the bigger cruisers. All the 1800 does is flatter the ego and burn more fuel. Personally I find it laughable that an 800cc machine is now considered middleweight. When I started riding in the 1970's a 750cc was a SUPERBIKE. I can't help thinking the marketing machine has persuaded a generation of riders that bigger is ALWAYS better. It aint.

I have an m109r because I ride hard and wanted a fast cruiser. Different bikes for different people. To me everything you just said about bigger bike this that is opposite from what I think. The way I like to ride I would be bored out of my mind on a slow 800cc and would quit riding. I’m buying one for my wife is why I’m watching this video because she wants a slow small bike that looks like mine. I my case bigger is always better.

I love my C50. I bought it for a shade under $3k three years ago and I've had to do nothing but basic maintenance on it. I spend about $600 for new tires, tubes and brakes for it, then just oil changes and wash it. I've put over 10,000 miles on it since I bought it as my first bike. I'm 5'6", about 250 lbs and I've found that the C50 fits me just about perfectly. I'm hoping to start doing some trips with it. Ideally, I'd like to do a run around Lake Michigan, with a fun little buzz over the Mackinac Bridge. I also have a bucket list tour of the Blue Ridge Mountains and the North Carolina Outer Banks swimming around in my head. I'm completely confident that my C50 will do all of this and more.

I got my first minibike on my 5th birthday. I am now 65 which means I have been riding for 60 years. I've had all kinds of motorcycles in my life including the 2006 Boulevard C50T I have been riding since I bought it new. It's the best bike I've ever had so while I agree it's a good bike for beginners it's also an excellent bike for those of us who have been riding a while

Due to my sciatica hade to downgrade from a 2013 Harley Electra glide Flhtp to a 2024 Shadow Aero 750
Being riding for almost 40 years it took me almost a year to make the big decision due to my condition to step down to an smaller and lighter bike,I’m really happy because I’m riding without pain

I bought a 2003 Suzuki vl800 with 9,000 miles for $3,000. Then I bought a bobber kit from Blue Collar Bobbers for about $1,500 with spring seat, fenders, and lights. Then I added 10 inch ape hanger handlebars, lowered the rear end 3 inches, and added white wall tires.
    It looks so good 👌

Rode a 2007 C50T for 6 years, never let me down, My likes: ultra reliable, low seat height for my 29" inseam, good mirrors and seat.. My dislikes : brakes are awful with single disc and rear drum, underpowered for 2 up, needs another gear for highway speeds..traded it in on a Yamaha V star 1300.. Would I recommend a C50 for beginner, absolutely !

My comment may be biased since i ride an older model (Marauder VZ800) but it def is a great beginner bike, enough power for highways, great in town and a very forgiving clutch. ✌😁

The feet-forward position is not a good configuration for any bike or any rider, and definitely not a beginner, unless they are a dwarf. I get the low seat height and the low centre of gravity. That makes sense. But cruisers suck!

    • @kerrymcclure7503
      @kerrymcclure7503 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +7

There's nothing wrong with forward controls. Cruiser bikes definitely do not suck.
They may not be what you prefer but that does not make them bad.
