I know you’ll love the Boulevard. Mine was a 2005 too just in black. I liked the red and almost bought one but got a better deal on the black one. It’s a great bike and lighter than your Heritage but a lot like it. Have fun !
I had a brand new 50. Within two weeks the clutch apparently malfunctioned, the dealer said it was hydra locked. So, they replaced it. The issue never resurfaced. After that I was exiting a toll booth in rush hour traffic. The bike apparently was stuck in first gear. I had to crack the throttle off and on repeatedly to get it out of first into second. This issue never resurfaced. I had an AC100 Suzuki when I was a kid. And a 550-4 about thirteen years ago. I also had a 40 cruiser about eleven years ago. These bikes were great. Suzuki bikes in general have been good. But once you plunk down a check for a new bike. You just don't need any headaches. I just bought a new street bike. It is a Honda. I walked right past a used Suzuki 50, in the same dealership. I wish y'all the best. With your 50's.
I had my Suzuki C50T for about 10 years and it was a good bike and very reliable. But I did have to replace the clutch on it. You certainly won’t regret buying a Honda. I had a couple and they were rock solid. Thanks for watching!

I've got a 2006 C50 which I've owned since new and agree with your assessment. I don't really mind not having a fuel gauge because like you, I'm OK with checking mileage until the yellow light starts flashing showing 1 gallon left. I've wondered about getting Mustang seats, but thanks to your recommendation I'll do it!
I rode a C90 for about 3 years and really enjoyed it. The previous owner had put on a very comfortable Mustang seat, a set of Cobra pipes and a Gman sub tank that added 2 1/2 gallons of fuel capacity. Unfortunately I wrecked it in 2015. After riding for over 40 years, I had a wreck. It wasn't real serious, but ruined the bike (according the the insurance Co.)
I rode American cruisers for 35 yrs been riding for close to 40 yrs enjoyed it. I now have an Indian but I will say it till the dirt hits my casket. Metric cruisers better more reliable and low maintenance cost bikes ever in the cruiser category.
I agree with you on that. I’ve never had a bit of trouble with any of my metric bikes in the past. So far so good with my new Harley-Davidson Heritage Classic. I’ve had 2 trouble free years from that bike. I think reliability is better for most newer bikes these days but you can never go wrong with metrics. Thanks for watching!
The GPS overlay is from the editing software that came with my Sony action cam. I mostly use my GoPro Hero 8 these days but occasionally pull out my trusty Sony to do these videos with the route overlay. GoPros are great cameras but Sony makes an excellent vlogging camera as well. Thanks for watching. Ride safe.

I use the Sony HDR AS-300 Action Camera mounted to the side of my helmet and this video was edited using the software that comes with the camera. You can turn the GPS tracking on or off when you edit the video footage. I've owned and ridden a lot of bikes. I have this bike a year newer, and you will NOT regret it. I've had them all, and as far as an all around, easy in and out, comfortable, performing cruise, this is about as good as you can do. Now, I don't ride over 70, and usually not even that. But once I was feeling my oats and wanted to see what it had. It hit 105 and was climbing when I backed off scared, and I'm 260 lbs.
And yes, great video. Very accurate. I agree with his likes / dislikes. And he gave me a great idea. I rode for about 2 hours with my wife on the back and my butt and lower back were hurting so bad I kept having to stop and stretch and stand up for a minute on the way home. I am definitely checking out that mustang seat!

I am mainly a Harley-Davidson rider , but I have ridden , and owned many metric cruisers as well . I owned a 2007 Suzuki C 50 C , meant factory custom , same as a regular C 50 . An excellent entry level bike , or a great bike for anyone who may be short . These bikes rev high , at higher speeds , which is normal . Mine was a great machine mechanically , never gave me any trouble , rode very well , was a joy to ride . I sold it just because I had four Harley's , and was thinning the herd , I do miss it a bit . I got a really nice 06 C50 less than 9k a few months ago after 25 years without a bike. took some getting used to even though about same size as my 700 Shadow. Just a big bike. Love it, I like just cruising at 45 to 50mph. did put a slipstreamer 15in windshield on so it still looks good. So hood to be back in saddle again. Did take on interstate but like to just enjoy the machine and scenery at country roads.
Your'e gonna really like this motorcycle. I was in the same position as you when I bought mine about 4 years ago. It's great for the backroads and that is where I usually stay. I have had it out on the interstate and it has decent power for that but I prefer the country two lane roads. RIde safe and thanks for watching.
I just got me one. First bike ever. I noticed it needs to warm up a lot though or it'll die when i shift it into 1st. It only has 3100 miles...is this normal ? Or should i be concerned.
It's the Sony Action Cam. Model HDR AS300. It has an option to turn on or off the GPS feature for the video where the speedometer and other data is shown on my video. I always leave it turned on for the camera and then when I download the video file and edit it with the Sony software they provide with the camera - you can decide if you want it on the video or not. I have it on some of my videos and some I don't. It's a great feature on a great camera.

shawn h. I have an Arai Signet Q full face and currently use a GoPro Hero 7 Black with microphone routed to inside my helmet. For this video I was using a Sony Action Cam HDR-AS300 mounted to the side of my helmet with a Sony microphone routed from the camera to inside my helmet. Both were great setups.
Good video. I recently got the 2011 model to complement my smaller Bully S40. I have to say that both vibrate almost the same at 80 mph. The S40 can get to 95 fast but it has a hard time to get to 100 mph. The C50 gets to 90 fast but has a hard time getting to 110 mph. I wasn't able to get it to go beyond that in flat and straight road but hey, I was just testing. I'm happy to get it to 100 mph when needed and stay at 80 all day.
No power on fast highways ,you will find people riding your ass . It will vibrate the hell out of you over 65mph ,and the transmission will become hard to shift in hot weather .
I have had the light come on a few times but I am nervous I won’t be able to find a gas station so I usually try to gas up before it comes on. Thanks for watching and commenting.
@@GARamblinMan I'm the same way. When I think of what I want to do on any given day, "Push motorcycle down highway to gas station" does not make the list.... Lol It depends on where you live too. And where you ride. I take my truck through the city to work and the bike is for open roads where there may not be a station for a long time.
I had a C50 for 6 years.. loved it. Its worth the price has a decent resale value too. Great on fuel too. Really recommend it for starters or experienced riders.

I'm a new rider and I recently bought a 2006 C50 with 38k miles on it. So far, it runs great. My only complaint is my butt gets pretty sore after a long ride. I see many people mentioning 'Mustang' seats, so I will definitely check those out. Thanks!
I know you will like this motorcycle. My butt was sore too after about an hour on the stock seat and I bought the Mustang seat and it was the best upgrade I did in that bike. I know that this video has been around for a bit, but I enjoyed seeing roads that I am VERY familiar with. I live in north Hall county and I regularly ride 369/20/372 and all of the side roads through out that area to get where I'm going in either North Fulton or Cherokee county. Even though I have two HDs now, I still have my '05 C50 (bought in '07 with only 112 miles on it!) and ride it regularly; it was my re-entry bike and at 70k miles, I'm not likely to get anywhere near the money for it compared to the enjoyment that I still get out of it. As a matter of fact, I bought it in Woodstock, and rode it home that night on East Cherokee Drive to Cotton Road (whee!) to 20, to 369 and on up to 400, with my poor wife trying to follow in our old Grand Cherokee. My mods have included removing the PAIR valve (which makes valve adjustment easier; I used the Baron kit), rebuilding the seat with memory foam, discarding the stock rear lights in favor of reproduction vintage auto units in LED, handmade fender tips from 1/8" aluminum stock, and some cheap aftermarket hard bags with built-in lights in the turning circuit. I just put a new clutch on a couple of days ago, and the only major trouble I've ever had was a coil gone bad at about 40k. I run Rotella diesel oil in dino 15W40 and Wix fiters and change every 3k. These are amazingly durable and maintainable motorcycles, but more importantly, they're just plain FUN. Thanks for a great video!
Sounds like you’re nine is awesome with the mods you’ve done. Glad to hear you have 70K miles on it. I have about 25K on mine now and look forward to many more. I will probably keep mine too when I buy a new motorcycle - it’s not worth a great deal of money and it I just love it so much I hate to think of parting with it. Howdy sir, I was wondering if my wife and I could both ride on the c50t? I'm 210lbs and my wife is 160 or so ha ha. I found a 2008 with 3000 miles on it and it is pretty, black and like new. Thanks
You could ride two up on it. It may not have the pulling power going up hills that a bigger bike would have but if you are looking to cruise along comfortably this bike will be fine. Just give yourself plenty of time for accelerating and stopping. It’s a very comfortable motorcycle and for the price you can’t beat it.
I tend to agree with you on that and definitely wonder why Suzuki hasn’t at least put a rear disc brake on the C50T. They have on the heavier C90T but still only have a single disk on the front of that one. One day they will be required by law to have ABS brakes on all their bikes and I’ll guess they will change the design then. I’m sure it’s all about price and cost. Great comment. I believe i noticed about half way thru the video when you came to a stop sign, you didn't downshift?? Why? I'm sure you know how much that increases your braking power!? Been riding for 55 years and i automtically down shift as it can be the difference between life and death to be brutally honest.....just saying......maybe this is the reason why you didn't care for the brakes??

After owning 3 Goldwings I went without a bike for 7 years. Found a 2005 C50 with 8200 miles on it and one of the first red ones with ghost flames. I love it! Since it was first sold it has been converted into a "C50T" fully dressed out. I weigh 135 lbs. so the light weight and manueverability is perfect! I agree with the braking as well as the top end on this. However, I am 55 now and am really just into this because I enjoy it. It's not really necessary for me to hit 100 MPH. Your review is exactly how I feel about my c50t. With the mustang seat it is a great, comfortable bike! but lacks the power and some amenities. I have so far tried the voyager and vstar 1300 but didn't feel excited about either one. Harleys and Indians will be next before I decide on an upgrade!
I'm keeping mine for awhile. I have a difficult time deciding on what I want next, so I'll wait until I'm sure and have all the cash saved. I'm kinda liking the Yamaha FJR1300 lately.

I rode a 2002 Suzuki Volusia (previous name to C50) for a couple years. The bike looked great, rode pretty easy, and had very decent acceleration for an 800cc Cruiser (these things were actually capable of running 0-60 mph is just under 6 seconds and could turn a 14.5 second quarter mile in the 90 mph range). I also believe this is one of the best sounding "dual crankpin" V-Twins out there. Generally, you only get a sweet V-Twin exhaust cadence from a single crankpin design. I did have some issues in cold weather on the Volusia with gasoline containing ethanol. However, it was carbureted and I believe the C50 has been fuel injected for some time. The Volusia was my entry back into the world of motorcycling after a 9 year hiatus. However, my wife hopped on the back and never got off. This was a total surprise as she'd only ridden on my previous motorcycle a total of about 50 miles in 15 years. For me the biggest drawback of the Volusia was highway rpms. We traded up for a Honda VTX1300 which had only slightly stronger performance but cruised the highways at almost 1,000 rpms lower so it was MUCH more relaxing. Rode that 2004 VTX1300 for 12 years and loved it (as does the present owner who purchased it from me). Incredibly Honda dumped this splendid model for the stupid Stateline models and now they're toast in the Cruiser Market. Unfortunately, I let the wife talk me into getting a fully loaded Goldwing in 2016. Got a great deal on a 2009 model with just over 20,000 miles on it. Looks and runs like new. However, I classify the Goldwing as a car on 2 wheels rather than a motorcycle. Darned thing even has an airbag on it, and I can't believe how poor the fuel economy is on the Goldwing. Any 1800cc car can do as well or better on the highway. Good job it's got a big tank. At any rate, I needed something to have some fun on as well and picked up a 2017 Honda CB1100EX for solo riding. Now this thing is a riot and an absolute blast from the past whilst also being totally modern. Wifey rode on the back of this one once and never again. She hung unto that seat strap for dear life. LOL!
I love the retro look of the Honda CB1100’s. Bigger version of the CB 350 I had in the 70’s. The C50T does cruise at higher speeds ok, it like you point out, its at a higher RPM and the engine just feels wound out. The fuel injection in the models now is great. @@GARamblinMan My first bike was a 1972 CB350. A GREAT bike which I rode for 15 years was a 1982 Honda CB450SC Nighthawk. Surprisingly, the horsepower of that carbureted and air cooled 37 year old 450 is almost the same as the 2017 fuel injected and liquid cooled CBR500. So much for the progression in engine technology. The ergonomics on that Nighthawk were amazing and I've had no other bike with a more comfortable seat. Ironically, the 1st edition Nighthawk seats from 1982 look pretty similar to many Corbin seats that I've seen. Hmmmm???? If Honda had brought that Nighthawk series back instead of the CB1100, I would have bought one in a heartbeat, but probably the 750cc version.
Great sounding bike, and good talking points on it overall. I'm looking for a larger cruising bike, especially for the wife, but I really don't want to get rid of my 650 Vstrom. Between the 950 Yamaha Vstar and this I'm leaning to the Yamaha because of the brakes. I do like the shaft drive on this though. As cheap as both of them are, I may be able to keep Vstrom if I'm patient for the right deal.

I bought my 2013 C50 from the showroom floor. It’s a great bike for getting around and has plenty of power. Easy to ride and very maneuverable in traffic.
I disagree. I got rid of my C50T immediately because the brakes were awful and I couldn't pass a car on the highway if my life depended on it. Needs more like 85-90 horsepower at minimum for a bike this size and weight, not 48.

I just bought a 2008 Boulevard with 5,000 miles on it. Love this bike and I am not even that experienced with motorcycles. Friends told me that its not a good beginner bike but I disagree.

After owning over ten bikes in my 40 years of riding (175cc ~ 1600cc) my current ride is the perfect fit for me, a 2015 Honda CTX700. As with most riders every few years you're looking for an excuse to make a change. But every time I get on the CTX I the ergonomics that is perfect for my 5'6" frame. The foot controls (somewhere between mid and forward), seat and handlebars are in just the right position to eliminate any stress or strain on my knees, wrist, elbows and shoulders. My need for speed has diminished over the years so the 670cc engine and relatively light weight make it a fun ride. I've heard 6'2" and taller folks say the C50 is perfect for them which leads me to believe it might be more of a stretch for me so I'd like to heard from any shorter riders (5'4" ~ 5'8") on how the C50 fits them.
I've done the bigger bikes but now I'm 65 with bad hips and knees so I got a C50. Less weight and I'm comfortable with the power I did have to remove the floorboards and foot controls and replace them with pegs and controls from a Suzuki M50...Gave me much better lean clearance and the pegs are much better on my hips and knees...Oh if you want to waterproof the bags there is a spray on rubber you can use to spray the inside with, works great.
Great video. I have a 2006 model of the exact same bike. I got it up to 105 once and it was still trying to go a little more before I got scared and backed off. I never drive faster than 70. And that is rare. He gave me a great idea. after riding a couple of hours with my wife on back my lower back and butt hurts so bad I had to keep stopping and standing up on the way home. So I'm definitely checking into the mustang seat. Great video!!!
You are braver than me to push it that fast. I think I got up to 85 once and was afraid to go faster. You will love the Mustang seat and your butt will thank you. I would opt for the slightly more expensive seat that comes with the back rest. I didn’t and I regret it.
I've always thought the C50 is a nice bike. I've ridden a friend's C50 recently and compared to my '01 Harley sportster 883, the C50 is incredibly comfortable and smooth running.
I owned a 2002 Intruder Volusia for 7 years and loved it so much that when I finally decided to upgrade to something with fuel injection I bought a 2006 Boulevard C50. For those not familiar with Suzuki, when they stopped using the Intruder name they renamed them the Boulevard and the Volusia became the C50. I also have the Mustang seat and love it. I also put a braided stainless steel front brake line on it, huge improvement.

Hello, I see that most of the time you maintained around 60mph cruising speed, can it cruise at 75 for a long time?. I'm planning to buy this bike for a 5000 mile trip, from Chile to Brazil. The one I'm looking for is a 5 years old, but 12k mi on it, almost brand new. The speed limit here is almost nonexistent and there will be very large road sections where I will be wanting to do at least 75. thanks in advance for any one that can answer this.
It will go faster but it's only a 5 speed why push it till it has no.more you want faster buy a bigger suzuki it makes no sence to expect a 100 mph out of it what's you point you want to go fast buy a 1800 Suzuki and if you have little experience riding dont do it
It will do it until it blows up 75mph is Getting at the end It's not good advice To run any moter Cycle in the red line constantly your destroying the engine

I've had two Electra Glides and now I want the C50T because I want something that is lighter to move around, better gas mileage, does not need the maintenance that my HD's did, doesn't cost and arm and a leg and looks really good. I have been looking at the Kawasaki Vulcan, Honda Shadow and this Suzuki and I will probably be getting the Suzuki. I like the shaft drive, cleaner and less maintenance. Thanks for the good review.
You won’t be disappointed. The newer ones have an electronic fuel gage snd big LCD display with the odometer and gear indicators really easy to read. And the engine is really bullet proof and low maintenance. Good luck with your search. New ones are a good deal and there’s a ton of used ones out there at really good prices. I’m still on my Suzuki C50T. It’s a 2005 model but still in great condition and runs like a champ. I’ll probably keep it a while longer so I can keep saving the $ for my next bike. This one suits me just fine for now.
I solved the leaky and un-lockable pannier problem by fitting a pair of Triumph ST hard cases to my C50T, i brought them for a couple of Hundred bucks never been used, I reversed the pannier brackets on the C50T and made a cross bar to lock the new panniers onto the C50T out 1/4" x 2" aluminium bar.
Wow. Great idea and I’m sure a nice upgrade. The unlockable bags and the fact they were not waterproof were a definite shortcoming for this bike. It didn’t have many but this is one. Thanks for watching!
You're right about the brakes. We know how to ride, how to break. But in a split second emergency break, you can't adjust front/rear brake control fast enough. I had an incident when I was 0.25 seconds decision time to get clipped and I over-engaged on the front and went flying because I was in a lean. I guess if I was an experience track-racer always in an emergency ride condition I might know how to throw a bike down every few months with years of dumping bike experience... but I'm not a racer nor do I put myself in emergency conditions nor do I enjoy being in those conditions. Like I said, you are right about having ABS all around and dual disc.
And they keep improving ABS braking now to include having sensors to know if you’re leaning or not. All this including linked front and rear brakes and traction control are just more ways to help the rider. There’s no substitute for knowing how to ride and brake, but this new technology certainly helps.

I usually downshift through the gears coming to a stop if I have time. It was a great bike and I had it for 8 years before I sold it and bought my new Harley-Davidson Heritage. I’m sure you would love it. Such a great bike for the money. Australia and New Zealand are on my bucket list to visit and ride in. Take care and good luck.

My wife has a Suzuki M50 and on a weekend she put more than 500 miles on it, no windshield no highway pegs. thru Florida sideway rain and scorching heat, and both keep on going like they have a purpose!!!!!
You are correct there. The the 5th gear on this bike is an overdrive gear and it cruises comfortably in 5th up to about 70 mph. After that you can really tell it needs that 6th gear. Thanks for watching!
agreed about the fuel and tachometer. Thats annoying. But its quite agile, I love how it banks. And I disagree about power, I accidentally got it past 80 today while not paying attention, it could have gone more.

I don't know what bike the rest of you are saying is so good. But I had a C50T for about 3 years and it was the worst bike I've ever ridden since 1977. Granted, it's the only cruiser I've ever had. All the rest were standards or sport touring. I found the C50 gutless with no passing ability as, as you say, it runs out of breath at higher rpm. It has poor range on the highway (mountain roads of British Columbia). Fuel economy when pushed was abysmal. Limited clearance on curves. The aerodynamics of the plastic sheet they claim is a windshield is so poor, I couldn't read road signs until I was at them as my helmet buffeted so badly at 100 kms/h (62 mph). No adjustment would fix it. This is a non performing, putz around town or local cruising shiny plastic bobble. It's a pretty little bike. But that's about all. It became my buddy bike when I bought my Honda ST1300. Friends used it for tours where I had to hardly wake up the ST and spent most of the rides searching for Suzi in the Honda's mirrors. th-cam.com/video/ZQ-MRu5zzdw/w-d-xo.html
Everyone has different tastes in motorcycles and it’s certainly not for everyone. It was pretty underpowered at higher speeds but I found the low speed and low end torque just fine. For the price, I still think it’s a good choice for someone who wants a standard cruiser experience but doesn’t have $20K+ for a Harley-Davidson or other more expensive option. You’re going to love this motorcycle. You got about the same deal I got on mine for similar age and miles. It feels big at first and looks big but it handles like a dream. Just practice the low speed turns and maneuvering and you’ll be fine. Great first bike. I bought mine thinking I would have it just a couple of years and move up to a big touring bike. I had no issues with mine except replacing the clutch in almost 10 years. And it was 6 years old when I bought it. Just fluid changes and it performed flawlessly. Thanks for watching.
Are your mufflers rusted out? C 50s are very quiet when new. Your bike sounds loud. (I heard on the end that you put on after market pipes). Sorry, but I prefer the more socially responsible stock pipes. Whenever a bike with loud pipes passes by my house, it's like the biker threw a bag of their trash in my yard.

Now it does have a low fuel light that will come on, and I have ran 30 miles with it on.I don't think it will go much further than that, and I think I got lucky that time because it was all downhill and low RPM. Lol
I would like to correct a few things he said about the bike. I have 2006 VL800TK6 C50T. I have never found water in my bag. No I don't like that there no locks on the Bag. I have no problem getting the bike up 80 for passing and I don't like that air handler being in the way of the back brake. Im working on correcting this. I replace all the front lights with LED and had to add Load Resistors. I even replaced the stock turn signals with LED Fog Lamps and Turn signals. The head lamp flash amber when turning. I get 50 to 75 MPG and the bike does have a low fuel warning. First I went out, it was 55 miles to meet up, we road around for 100 miles, then 55 miles home all on the same tank of gas. I had a 78' GS1000 E and C50T beat the 1000 hands down. Riding 55 miles on GS1000 was hard on you, and it had Vetter Fairing and Hard Bags and Trunk. The C50T is tons easier on me. Everything he doesn't like Im doing something about to make MY Ride the BEST Ride. The plan is to ride to Stirgus next year and ride the Axanar Tour Across American. I also live in GA and ride the same roads as he did. The goal right now it work up to riding 200+ miles non-stop. When I take my van to FL I drive from Perry, GA to Kissimmee non-stop. FYI, I don't care that there only 1 disc brake on front and drums on the back. All the brake stuff he talked about wasn't around for bikes before 2012. IF he want all the stuff, then get a new bike. I don't need all that BS stuff. I got my 78' GS1000 in 1982 and rode it till 1996 when a cycl drop out after I add 75K miles on her. Before the GS1000 was a 74' 250GT I also put 75K+ on her. If you haven't figured it out they all Suzuki's.
Good comments. I only got water in the saddle bags once and that was in a pretty bad storm. I don’t tend to ride in weather like that much so it’s not a real problem. The fact they don’t lock doesn’t bother me too much. I keep everything in the Suzuki bags that zip up and fit nicely in the saddle bags. I just pull them out and carry them inside with me if I’m traveling. You get better gas mileage than I do. I get about 45 mpg pretty consistently and I usually go about 130 miles between fill ups. And that’s before the low fuel warning light comes on. I’m sure I could probably go up to about 175 or 180 miles but too risky for me. It is the most comfortable motorcycle I’ve ever owned. With the Mustang seat it’s an all day cruiser for sure. I realize the other options I wish it had would move the price point too high. For the money you can’t beat it. I think they will have to put ABS brakes on it soon because the US Government will probably mandate it. Thanks for watching and commenting. Ride safe. @@GARamblinMan We will have to get hooked up for ride with my ride/biker buddy. He is insane with his HD's, all 5 of then. He once told me he would never get a NEWER HD. What did he do over the winter? Got a 2015 FreeWheeler. to add to his 2 74' that don't run, 86' that he just had to rebuild the clutch because he didn't like it, 84' with side cart. HE still like for tail pipes that make him happy. My ride is in upgrade mode. The stock shield got some damage, ordered a NEW ClearView Shield, will be here next week. I need more light on the road, so Im replacing all the lights with LEDs. Head lamp and Fog lamps, all have turn signal options. I purchased a light bar. I end up not needing after I got creative when mounting the Fog lamps. I had to add load resistors for the turn signals. Im waiting for ring to mount the headlamp, I got to run a wire from the Lt Blue to the head lamp for the amber turn lamp and tap into the DRT lights. Also run wires down the bar for mirror turn signals I got. Then add Lizard Lights. I need to make trip back to this small motor assc shop north of 400 and 369 for a BT sound/talk system that attaches to the outside of helmet. Im also looking at rear floorboards. One thing I don't like one bit is the left bag blocks the helmet holder and lock. In FL I have Peace Sport Night Sky scooter (yes that a 50cc or was, now a 100cc). When I go FL, I take my Van and this give me something to ride around on the crazy roads down there. I had to restore this ride after it was stolen. Im still not finish. There a few body piece I need, but need new rims as they no longer roll straight. It will be a fun ride and be my FL "go to" ride when I get finished. the only Wholesaler is in Norcross GA.
Bought a 2006 last year from a friend. Hadn't been out on the road on a bike in about 10 years. I love it. Just a nice solid bike for putting on some miles in the open air. Thanks for posting GA Ramblin.

I am buying this bike tomorrow! A 2009 with a fuel gauge. It does have lockable saddle bags because that was on my list also. Ha. I did want cruise control but like you mentioned there isn't one. I noticed you didn't mention buffeting. The guy that I'm getting my bike from rides the freeways a lot and bought an added windshield part to help with that. My first bike was an 86 Honda Shadow VT700C. That had 6 speeds and a tachometer but a smaller tank. I only got about 120 miles per tank. But the power on that was pretty awesome. I never got it past 92 but if I needed to pass someone on a freeway, I had no problems. I am also looking at cobra pipes because I like the deep sound AND I think they're safer. My buddy had a 2004 Shadow that rode lower than my Shadow but his pipes were stock and cars got right up to me without noticing me. Thanks for taking the time to share!

I have a 2005 that I have owned for almost 7 years. No maintenance issues at all. Just tires and fluids. It starts up very easily and quickly even when cold. You will have no problems with a 2008 C50T. Thanks for watching and commenting. Hope you get it and enjoy many great miles.
If you google cam chains for Suzuki C50T Boulevard, you will find some good resources on cam chains, tensioners and other related tropics. Some good TH-cam videos pop up that show how you get to the whole assembly.
If you are a bigger guy maybe a C90 is a good choice. It’s bigger and heavier and probably has a better suspension for you. I’m 6-0 and 206 lbs and the C50T fits me fine.
Very weak bikes 45 horsepower is pathetic out of an 800cc and that's at the crank so by the time it gets to your rest wheel your only getting roughly 30 horsepower which is a lawnmower power
I have to say I think it has a little more horsepower than a lawn mower. I was very happy with it for the time I owned it. I have the Harley-Davidson Heritage Classic with the 114 cubic inch motor now, which is a significant power upgrade. Thanks for watching.

I like my Harley TriGlide with the 103 High Output because of the torque, hands free stereo, cruise control, storage and the fact that I’m paralyzed from the arms down the 3 wheels come in handy..lol

I asked the mechanic at the dealer about it when the motorcycle had about 18,000 miles on it and he told me that even if the Owners manual recommended it at that mileage that he didn’t recommend it if the bike was starting and running well, which it was. So I never had them adjusted and the bike had about 25,000 miles when I traded it in last year.
I just bought a used 2011 C50T and it is great beginning bike for me. They did start putting the electronic fuel gauges on them so I don't have to do the odometer trick.
@@GARamblinMan nice! I think it's bizarre they didn't make the gas gauge for the 05 and 06 then started back up in 07.. thank goodness for the indicator though!
I use the Sony Action Cam HDR AS-300. It's a great low profile camera and mounts easily to the side of my helmet. I have a video that shows my set up and you can buy it from Amazon from a few diffrerent sources. I highly recommend this camera. I had a brand new 50. Within two weeks the clutch apparently malfunctioned, the dealer said it was hydra locked. So, they replaced it. The issue never resurfaced.
After that I was exiting a toll booth in rush hour traffic. The bike apparently was stuck in first gear. I had to crack the throttle off and on repeatedly to get it out of first into second. This issue never resurfaced.
I had an AC100 Suzuki when I was a kid. And a 550-4 about thirteen years ago. I also had a 40 cruiser about eleven years ago. These bikes were great.
Suzuki bikes in general have been good. But once you plunk down a check for a new bike. You just don't need any headaches.
I just bought a new street bike. It is a Honda. I walked right past a used Suzuki 50, in the same dealership.

I had my Suzuki C50T for about 10 years and it was a good bike and very reliable. But I did have to replace the clutch on it. You certainly won’t regret buying a Honda. I had a couple and they were rock solid. Thanks for watching!

I don't really mind not having a fuel gauge because like you, I'm OK with checking mileage until the yellow light starts flashing showing 1 gallon left. I rode a C90 for about 3 years and really enjoyed it. The previous owner had put on a very comfortable Mustang seat, a set of Cobra pipes and a Gman sub tank that added 2 1/2 gallons of fuel capacity. Unfortunately I wrecked it in 2015. After riding for over 40 years, I had a wreck. It wasn't real serious, but ruined the bike (according the the insurance Co.)
I rode American cruisers for 35 yrs been riding for close to 40 yrs enjoyed it. I now have an Indian but I will say it till the dirt hits my casket. Metric cruisers better more reliable and low maintenance cost bikes ever in the cruiser category.
I agree with you on that. I’ve never had a bit of trouble with any of my metric bikes in the past. So far so good with my new Harley-Davidson Heritage Classic. I’ve had 2 trouble free years from that bike. I think reliability is better for most newer bikes these days but you can never go wrong with metrics. Thanks for watching!

The GPS overlay is from the editing software that came with my Sony action cam. I mostly use my GoPro Hero 8 these days but occasionally pull out my trusty Sony to do these videos with the route overlay. I use the Sony HDR AS-300 Action Camera mounted to the side of my helmet and this video was edited using the software that comes with the camera. I think it would. I am 6 ft tall and very comfortable on the bike. Seems to have plenty of leg room and seating position us very upright.

I've owned and ridden a lot of bikes. I have this bike a year newer, and you will NOT regret it. I've had them all, and as far as an all around, easy in and out, comfortable, performing cruise, this is about as good as you can do. Now, I don't ride over 70, and usually not even that. But once I was feeling my oats and wanted to see what it had. It hit 105 and was climbing when I backed off scared, and I'm 260 lbs.
And yes, great video. Very accurate. I agree with his likes / dislikes. And he gave me a great idea. I rode for about 2 hours with my wife on the back and my butt and lower back were hurting so bad I kept having to stop and stretch and stand up for a minute on the way home. I am definitely checking out that mustang seat!

I am mainly a Harley-Davidson rider , but I have ridden , and owned many metric cruisers as well . I owned a 2007 Suzuki C 50 C , meant factory custom , same as a regular C 50 . An excellent entry level bike , or a great bike for anyone who may be short . These bikes rev high , at higher speeds , which is normal . Mine was a great machine mechanically , never gave me any trouble , rode very well , was a joy to ride . I sold it just because I had four Harley's , and was thinning the herd , I do miss it a bit . I got a really nice 06 C50 less than 9k a few months ago after 25 years without a bike. took some getting used to even though about same size as my 700 Shadow. Just a big bike.
Love it, I like just cruising at 45 to 50mph. did put a slipstreamer 15in windshield on so it still looks good.
So hood to be back in saddle again.
Did take on interstate but like to just enjoy the machine and scenery at country roads.
Your'e gonna really like this motorcycle. I was in the same position as you when I bought mine about 4 years ago. It's great for the backroads and that is where I usually stay. I just got me one. First bike ever. I noticed it needs to warm up a lot though or it'll die when i shift it into 1st. It only has 3100 miles...is this normal ? Or should i be concerned.
What's the overlay /camera you're using? I dig all the extra info it gives.
It's the Sony Action Cam. Model HDR AS300. It has an option to turn on or off the GPS feature for the video where the speedometer and other data is shown on my video. I always leave it turned on for the camera and then when I download the video file and edit it with the Sony software they provide with the camera - you can decide if you want it on the video or not. I have it on some of my videos and some I don't. It's a great feature on a great camera.

shawn h. I have an Arai Signet Q full face and currently use a GoPro Hero 7 Black with microphone routed to inside my helmet. For this video I was using a Sony Action Cam HDR-AS300 mounted to the side of my helmet with a Sony microphone routed from the camera to inside my helmet. Both were great setups.
Good video. I recently got the 2011 model to complement my smaller Bully S40. I have to say that both vibrate almost the same at 80 mph. The S40 can get to 95 fast but it has a hard time to get to 100 mph. The C50 gets to 90 fast but has a hard time getting to 110 mph. I wasn't able to get it to go beyond that in flat and straight road but hey, I was just testing. I'm happy to get it to 100 mph when needed and stay at 80 all day.
No power on fast highways ,you will find people riding your ass . It will vibrate the hell out of you over 65mph ,and the transmission will become hard to shift in hot weather .
It’s not really built for the fast interstate highways but does great on the 2-lane country roads.
it has a low fuel light that will come on before you run out of gas it will run 20//30 miles after low fuel light turns on

@@GARamblinMan I'm the same way. When I think of what I want to do on any given day, "Push motorcycle down highway to gas station" does not make the list.... Lol It depends on where you live too. And where you ride. I take my truck through the city to work and the bike is for open roads where there may not be a station for a long time.
Weird they removed the fuel guage, I have a 04 Volusia, basically same bike minus fuel injection and it has a bar graph fuel guage.
Just like mine, i've noticed the speedo is about 5 mph higher then it really is compared to a speed phone app. This happens after about 40 mph.
I’ve never had this problem with other bikes but I adjusted to it. Seems like an easy fix for Suzuki. They should address it. Thanks for watching m!
I had a C50 for 6 years.. loved it. Its worth the price has a decent resale value too. Great on fuel too. Really recommend it for starters or experienced riders.

I'm a new rider and I recently bought a 2006 C50 with 38k miles on it. So far, it runs great. My only complaint is my butt gets pretty sore after a long ride. I see many people mentioning 'Mustang' seats, so I will definitely check those out. Thanks!
I know you will like this motorcycle. My butt was sore too after about an hour on the stock seat and I bought the Mustang seat and it was the best upgrade I did in that bike. I know that this video has been around for a bit, but I enjoyed seeing roads that I am VERY familiar with. I live in north Hall county and I regularly ride 369/20/372 and all of the side roads through out that area to get where I'm going in either North Fulton or Cherokee county. Even though I have two HDs now, I still have my '05 C50 (bought in '07 with only 112 miles on it!) and ride it regularly; it was my re-entry bike and at 70k miles, I'm not likely to get anywhere near the money for it compared to the enjoyment that I still get out of it. As a matter of fact, I bought it in Woodstock, and rode it home that night on East Cherokee Drive to Cotton Road (whee!) to 20, to 369 and on up to 400, with my poor wife trying to follow in our old Grand Cherokee.
My mods have included removing the PAIR valve (which makes valve adjustment easier; I used the Baron kit), rebuilding the seat with memory foam, discarding the stock rear lights in favor of reproduction vintage auto units in LED, handmade fender tips from 1/8" aluminum stock, and some cheap aftermarket hard bags with built-in lights in the turning circuit. I just put a new clutch on a couple of days ago, and the only major trouble I've ever had was a coil gone bad at about 40k. I run Rotella diesel oil in dino 15W40 and Wix fiters and change every 3k. These are amazingly durable and maintainable motorcycles, but more importantly, they're just plain FUN.

Howdy sir, I was wondering if my wife and I could both ride on the c50t? I'm 210lbs and my wife is 160 or so ha ha. I found a 2008 with 3000 miles on it and it is pretty, black and like new. Thanks
You could ride two up on it. It may not have the pulling power going up hills that a bigger bike would have but if you are looking to cruise along comfortably this bike will be fine. Just give yourself plenty of time for accelerating and stopping. It’s a very comfortable motorcycle and for the price you can’t beat it.

There is no excuse for ANY motorcycle to have drum brakes
I tend to agree with you on that and definitely wonder why Suzuki hasn’t at least put a rear disc brake on the C50T. They have on the heavier C90T but still only have a single disk on the front of that one. One day they will be required by law to have ABS brakes on all their bikes and I’ll guess they will change the design then. I’m sure it’s all about price and cost. Great comment. Rear drum is fine. Might be safer without abs cos you cannot lock it up. Front brakes are your go to anyways in the street
Would it be possible to replace the stock handlebars with 10” or 12” ape hangers? Would that affect the bike’s drive ability?
I’m not really sure. Probably a question for a Suzuki dealer but I don’t see why not. I don’t think the change would affect it handling too much. I have mini apes on HD Harley-Davidson Heritage and love them. Thanks for watching.
I believe i noticed about half way thru the video when you came to a stop sign, you didn't downshift?? Why? I'm sure you know how much that increases your braking power!? Been riding for 55 years and i automtically down shift as it can be the difference between life and death to be brutally honest.....just saying......maybe this is the reason why you didn't care for the brakes??
Suzuki makes a good bike. I’ve had my 2007 M50 for 11 years. Still runs great. I do want to move to something bigger soon though. Good video.

After owning 3 Goldwings I went without a bike for 7 years. Found a 2005 C50 with 8200 miles on it and one of the first red ones with ghost flames. I love it! Since it was first sold it has been converted into a "C50T" fully dressed out. I weigh 135 lbs. so the light weight and manueverability is perfect! I agree with the braking as well as the top end on this. However, I am 55 now and am really just into this because I enjoy it. It's not really necessary for me to hit 100 MPH. Good deal for a 2013 and low miles. I think I’d change out all the fluids including the direct drive shaft oil.
Your review is exactly how I feel about my c50t. With the mustang seat it is a great, comfortable bike! but lacks the power and some amenities. I have so far tried the voyager and vstar 1300 but didn't feel excited about either one. Harleys and Indians will be next before I decide on an upgrade!
I'm keeping mine for awhile. I have a difficult time deciding on what I want next, so I'll wait until I'm sure and have all the cash saved. I'm kinda liking the Yamaha FJR1300 lately.

I rode a 2002 Suzuki Volusia (previous name to C50) for a couple years. The bike looked great, rode pretty easy, and had very decent acceleration for an 800cc Cruiser (these things were actually capable of running 0-60 mph is just under 6 seconds and could turn a 14.5 second quarter mile in the 90 mph range). I also believe this is one of the best sounding "dual crankpin" V-Twins out there. Generally, you only get a sweet V-Twin exhaust cadence from a single crankpin design. I did have some issues in cold weather on the Volusia with gasoline containing ethanol. However, it was carbureted and I believe the C50 has been fuel injected for some time. The Volusia was my entry back into the world of motorcycling after a 9 year hiatus. However, my wife hopped on the back and never got off. This was a total surprise as she'd only ridden on my previous motorcycle a total of about 50 miles in 15 years. For me the biggest drawback of the Volusia was highway rpms. We traded up for a Honda VTX1300 which had only slightly stronger performance but cruised the highways at almost 1,000 rpms lower so it was MUCH more relaxing. Rode that 2004 VTX1300 for 12 years and loved it (as does the present owner who purchased it from me). Incredibly Honda dumped this splendid model for the stupid Stateline models and now they're toast in the Cruiser Market. Unfortunately, I let the wife talk me into getting a fully loaded Goldwing in 2016. Got a great deal on a 2009 model with just over 20,000 miles on it. Looks and runs like new. However, I classify the Goldwing as a car on 2 wheels rather than a motorcycle. Darned thing even has an airbag on it, and I can't believe how poor the fuel economy is on the Goldwing. Any 1800cc car can do as well or better on the highway. Good job it's got a big tank. At any rate, I needed something to have some fun on as well and picked up a 2017 Honda CB1100EX for solo riding. Now this thing is a riot and an absolute blast from the past whilst also being totally modern. Wifey rode on the back of this one once and never again. She hung unto that seat strap for dear life. LOL!
I love the retro look of the Honda CB1100’s. Bigger version of the CB 350 I had in the 70’s. The C50T does cruise at higher speeds ok, it like you point out, its at a higher RPM and the engine just feels wound out. The fuel injection in the models now is great. @@GARamblinMan My first bike was a 1972 CB350. A GREAT bike which I rode for 15 years was a 1982 Honda CB450SC Nighthawk. Surprisingly, the horsepower of that carbureted and air cooled 37 year old 450 is almost the same as the 2017 fuel injected and liquid cooled CBR500. So much for the progression in engine technology. The ergonomics on that Nighthawk were amazing and I've had no other bike with a more comfortable seat. Ironically, the 1st edition Nighthawk seats from 1982 look pretty similar to many Corbin seats that I've seen. Hmmmm???? If Honda had brought that Nighthawk series back instead of the CB1100, I would have bought one in a heartbeat, but probably the 750cc version.
Great sounding bike, and good talking points on it overall. I'm looking for a larger cruising bike, especially for the wife, but I really don't want to get rid of my 650 Vstrom. Between the 950 Yamaha Vstar and this I'm leaning to the Yamaha because of the brakes. I do like the shaft drive on this though. As cheap as both of them are, I may be able to keep Vstrom if I'm patient for the right deal.

I bought my 2013 C50 from the showroom floor. It’s a great bike for getting around and has plenty of power. Easy to ride and very maneuverable in traffic.

I disagree. I got rid of my C50T immediately because the brakes were awful and I couldn't pass a car on the highway if my life depended on it. Needs more like 85-90 horsepower at minimum for a bike this size and weight, not 48.

I just bought a 2008 Boulevard with 5,000 miles on it. Love this bike and I am not even that experienced with motorcycles. Friends told me that its not a good beginner bike but I disagree.

After owning over ten bikes in my 40 years of riding (175cc ~ 1600cc) my current ride is the perfect fit for me, a 2015 Honda CTX700. As with most riders every few years you're looking for an excuse to make a change. But every time I get on the CTX I the ergonomics that is perfect for my 5'6" frame. The foot controls (somewhere between mid and forward), seat and handlebars are in just the right position to eliminate any stress or strain on my knees, wrist, elbows and shoulders. My need for speed has diminished over the years so the 670cc engine and relatively light weight make it a fun ride. I've heard 6'2" and taller folks say the C50 is perfect for them which leads me to believe it might be more of a stretch for me so I'd like to heard from any shorter riders (5'4" ~ 5'8") on how the C50 fits them.

I've done the bigger bikes but now I'm 65 with bad hips and knees so I got a C50. Less weight and I'm comfortable with the power I did have to remove the floorboards and foot controls and replace them with pegs and controls from a Suzuki M50...Gave me much better lean clearance and the pegs are much better on my hips and knees...Oh if you want to waterproof the bags there is a spray on rubber you can use to spray the inside with, works great.

Great video. I have a 2006 model of the exact same bike. I got it up to 105 once and it was still trying to go a little more before I got scared and backed off. I never drive faster than 70. And that is rare. He gave me a great idea. after riding a couple of hours with my wife on back my lower back and butt hurts so bad I had to keep stopping and standing up on the way home. So I'm definitely checking into the mustang seat. Great video!!!
You are braver than me to push it that fast. I think I got up to 85 once and was afraid to go faster. You will love the Mustang seat and your butt will thank you. I would opt for the slightly more expensive seat that comes with the back rest. I didn’t and I regret it.
I've always thought the C50 is a nice bike. I've ridden a friend's C50 recently and compared to my '01 Harley sportster 883, the C50 is incredibly comfortable and smooth running.

I owned a 2002 Intruder Volusia for 7 years and loved it so much that when I finally decided to upgrade to something with fuel injection I bought a 2006 Boulevard C50. For those not familiar with Suzuki, when they stopped using the Intruder name they renamed them the Boulevard and the Volusia became the C50.
I also have the Mustang seat and love it. I also put a braided stainless steel front brake line on it, huge improvement.

Hello, I see that most of the time you maintained around 60mph cruising speed, can it cruise at 75 for a long time?.
I'm planning to buy this bike for a 5000 mile trip, from Chile to Brazil. The one I'm looking for is a 5 years old, but 12k mi on it, almost brand new. The speed limit here is almost nonexistent and there will be very large road sections where I will be wanting to do at least 75.

I've had two Electra Glides and now I want the C50T because I want something that is lighter to move around, better gas mileage, does not need the maintenance that my HD's did, doesn't cost and arm and a leg and looks really good. I have been looking at the Kawasaki Vulcan, Honda Shadow and this Suzuki and I will probably be getting the Suzuki. I like the shaft drive, cleaner and less maintenance.

You won’t be disappointed. The newer ones have an electronic fuel gage snd big LCD display with the odometer and gear indicators really easy to read. I’m still on my Suzuki C50T. It’s a 2005 model but still in great condition and runs like a champ. I’ll probably keep it a while longer so I can keep saving the $ for my next bike. This one suits me just fine for now.
I solved the leaky and un-lockable pannier problem by fitting a pair of Triumph ST hard cases to my C50T, i brought them for a couple of Hundred bucks never been used, I reversed the pannier brackets on the C50T and made a cross bar to lock the new panniers onto the C50T out 1/4" x 2" aluminium bar.
Wow. Great idea and I’m sure a nice upgrade. The unlockable bags and the fact they were not waterproof were a definite shortcoming for this bike. It didn’t have many but this is one. Thanks for watching!

You're right about the brakes. We know how to ride, how to break. But in a split second emergency break, you can't adjust front/rear brake control fast enough. I had an incident when I was 0.25 seconds decision time to get clipped and I over-engaged on the front and went flying because I was in a lean. I guess if I was an experience track-racer always in an emergency ride condition I might know how to throw a bike down every few months with years of dumping bike experience... but I'm not a racer nor do I put myself in emergency conditions nor do I enjoy being in those conditions. Like I said, you are right about having ABS all around and dual disc.
And they keep improving ABS braking now to include having sensors to know if you’re leaning or not. All this including linked front and rear brakes and traction control are just more ways to help the rider. There’s no substitute for knowing how to ride and brake, but this new technology certainly helps.
I had a 2006 one. The owner before me change the jets. It really was fast for a 800 cc.

I usually downshift through the gears coming to a stop if I have time. It was a great bike and I had it for 8 years before I sold it and bought my new Harley-Davidson Heritage. My wife has a Suzuki M50 and on a weekend she put more than 500 miles on it, no windshield no highway pegs. thru Florida sideway rain and scorching heat, and both keep on going like they have a purpose!!!!!

You are correct there. The the 5th gear on this bike is an overdrive gear and it cruises comfortably in 5th up to about 70 mph. After that you can really tell it needs that 6th gear. Thanks for watching!

I don't know what bike the rest of you are saying is so good. But I had a C50T for about 3 years and it was the worst bike I've ever ridden since 1977.
Granted, it's the only cruiser I've ever had. All the rest were standards or sport touring.
I found the C50 gutless with no passing ability as, as you say, it runs out of breath at higher rpm.
It has poor range on the highway (mountain roads of British Columbia).
Fuel economy when pushed was abysmal.
Limited clearance on curves.
The aerodynamics of the plastic sheet they claim is a windshield is so poor, I couldn't read road signs until I was at them as my helmet buffeted so badly at 100 kms/h (62 mph). No adjustment would fix it.
This is a non performing, putz around town or local cruising shiny plastic bobble. It's a pretty little bike. But that's about all.
It became my buddy bike when I bought my Honda ST1300. Friends used it for tours where I had to hardly wake up the ST and spent most of the rides searching for Suzi in the Honda's mirrors. th-cam.com/video/ZQ-MRu5zzdw/w-d-xo.html
Everyone has different tastes in motorcycles and it’s certainly not for everyone. It was pretty underpowered at higher speeds but I found the low speed and low end torque just fine. For the price, I still think it’s a good choice for someone who wants a standard cruiser experience but doesn’t have $20K+ for a Harley-Davidson or other more expensive option. my 2012 C50T tops out at 110 mph, my biggest dislike is the studds on the studded seat and bags the studs like to work loose

You’re going to love this motorcycle. You got about the same deal I got on mine for similar age and miles. It feels big at first and looks big but it handles like a dream. Just practice the low speed turns and maneuvering and you’ll be fine. Great first bike. I bought mine thinking I would have it just a couple of years and move up to a big touring bike. I bought one new in 07. C50 black. It's the most dependable motorcycle that I have ever known.
I had no issues with mine except replacing the clutch in almost 10 years. And it was 6 years old when I bought it. Just fluid changes and it performed flawlessly. Thanks for watching.
Are your mufflers rusted out? C 50s are very quiet when new. Your bike sounds loud. (I heard on the end that you put on after market pipes). Sorry, but I prefer the more socially responsible stock pipes. Whenever a bike with loud pipes passes by my house, it's like the biker threw a bag of their trash in my yard.

Now it does have a low fuel light that will come on, and I have ran 30 miles with it on.I don't think it will go much further than that, and I think I got lucky that time because it was all downhill and low RPM. Lol
I head right for a gas station when the light comes on. I usually fill up before it comes on.
I would like to correct a few things he said about the bike. I have 2006 VL800TK6 C50T. I have never found water in my bag. No I don't like that there no locks on the Bag. I have no problem getting the bike up 80 for passing and I don't like that air handler being in the way of the back brake. Im working on correcting this. I replace all the front lights with LED and had to add Load Resistors. I even replaced the stock turn signals with LED Fog Lamps and Turn signals. The head lamp flash amber when turning. I get 50 to 75 MPG and the bike does have a low fuel warning. First I went out, it was 55 miles to meet up, we road around for 100 miles, then 55 miles home all on the same tank of gas. I had a 78' GS1000 E and C50T beat the 1000 hands down. Riding 55 miles on GS1000 was hard on you, and it had Vetter Fairing and Hard Bags and Trunk. The C50T is tons easier on me. Everything he doesn't like Im doing something about to make MY Ride the BEST Ride. The plan is to ride to Stirgus next year and ride the Axanar Tour Across American. I also live in GA and ride the same roads as he did. The goal right now it work up to riding 200+ miles non-stop. When I take my van to FL I drive from Perry, GA to Kissimmee non-stop. FYI, I don't care that there only 1 disc brake on front and drums on the back. All the brake stuff he talked about wasn't around for bikes before 2012. IF he want all the stuff, then get a new bike. I don't need all that BS stuff. I got my 78' GS1000 in 1982 and rode it till 1996 when a cycl drop out after I add 75K miles on her. Before the GS1000 was a 74' 250GT I also put 75K+ on her. If you haven't figured it out they all Suzuki's.
Good comments. I only got water in the saddle bags once and that was in a pretty bad storm. I don’t tend to ride in weather like that much so it’s not a real problem. The fact they don’t lock doesn’t bother me too much. I keep everything in the Suzuki bags that zip up and fit nicely in the saddle bags. I just pull them out and carry them inside with me if I’m traveling. You get better gas mileage than I do. I get about 45 mpg pretty consistently and I usually go about 130 miles between fill ups. And that’s before the low fuel warning light comes on. I’m sure I could probably go up to about 175 or 180 miles but too risky for me. It is the most comfortable motorcycle I’ve ever owned. With the Mustang seat it’s an all day cruiser for sure. I realize the other options I wish it had would move the price point too high. For the money you can’t beat it. I think they will have to put ABS brakes on it soon because the US Government will probably mandate it. Thanks for watching and commenting. Ride safe. @@GARamblinMan We will have to get hooked up for ride with my ride/biker buddy. He is insane with his HD's, all 5 of then. He once told me he would never get a NEWER HD. What did he do over the winter? Got a 2015 FreeWheeler. to add to his 2 74' that don't run, 86' that he just had to rebuild the clutch because he didn't like it, 84' with side cart. HE still like for tail pipes that make him happy.
My ride is in upgrade mode. The stock shield got some damage, ordered a NEW ClearView Shield, will be here next week. I need more light on the road, so Im replacing all the lights with LEDs. Head lamp and Fog lamps, all have turn signal options. I purchased a light bar. I end up not needing after I got creative when mounting the Fog lamps. I had to add load resistors for the turn signals. Im waiting for ring to mount the headlamp, I got to run a wire from the Lt Blue to the head lamp for the amber turn lamp and tap into the DRT lights. Also run wires down the bar for mirror turn signals I got. Then add Lizard Lights. I need to make trip back to this small motor assc shop north of 400 and 369 for a BT sound/talk system that attaches to the outside of helmet. Im also looking at rear floorboards. One thing I don't like one bit is the left bag blocks the helmet holder and lock.
In FL I have Peace Sport Night Sky scooter (yes that a 50cc or was, now a 100cc). When I go FL, I take my Van and this give me something to ride around on the crazy roads down there. I had to restore this ride after it was stolen. Im still not finish. There a few body piece I need, but need new rims as they no longer roll straight. It will be a fun ride and be my FL "go to" ride when I get finished. the only Wholesaler is in Norcross GA.
Bought a 2006 last year from a friend. Hadn't been out on the road on a bike in about 10 years. I love it. Just a nice solid bike for putting on some miles in the open air. Thanks for posting GA Ramblin.

I am buying this bike tomorrow! A 2009 with a fuel gauge. It does have lockable saddle bags because that was on my list also. Ha. I did want cruise control but like you mentioned there isn't one.
I noticed you didn't mention buffeting. The guy that I'm getting my bike from rides the freeways a lot and bought an added windshield part to help with that.
My first bike was an 86 Honda Shadow VT700C. That had 6 speeds and a tachometer but a smaller tank. I only got about 120 miles per tank. But the power on that was pretty awesome. I never got it past 92 but if I needed to pass someone on a freeway, I had no problems.
I am also looking at cobra pipes because I like the deep sound AND I think they're safer. My buddy had a 2004 Shadow that rode lower than my Shadow but his pipes were stock and cars got right up to me without noticing me.

GA Ramblin Man actually the guy stiffed me. 28 minutes before the meet he left a voicemail that said his friend contacted him and wanted his bike so the bikes been sold, even though he knew we'd made an agreement the night before. Sad. I'll keep looking

I got the 2011 c50t. I bought it as a beginner but within a week I wanted something larger. I love the bike, as you love yours but I like touring. Need more power. Great video!

I have a 2005 that I have owned for almost 7 years. No maintenance issues at all. Just tires and fluids. It starts up very easily and quickly even when cold. You will have no problems with a 2008 C50T. Thanks for watching and commenting. Hope you get it and enjoy many great miles.

If you google cam chains for Suzuki C50T Boulevard, you will find some good resources on cam chains, tensioners and other related tropics. Some good TH-cam videos pop up that show how you get to the whole assembly.
Really looking at this bike, but I'm a bigger dude. Would you recommend the C 90 T instead?
If you are a bigger guy maybe a C90 is a good choice. It’s bigger and heavier and probably has a better suspension for you. I’m 6-0 and 206 lbs and the C50T fits me fine.
Very weak bikes 45 horsepower is pathetic out of an 800cc and that's at the crank so by the time it gets to your rest wheel your only getting roughly 30 horsepower which is a lawnmower power
I have to say I think it has a little more horsepower than a lawn mower. I was very happy with it for the time I owned it. I have the Harley-Davidson Heritage Classic with the 114 cubic inch motor now, which is a significant power upgrade. Thanks for watching.

I like my Harley TriGlide with the 103 High Output because of the torque, hands free stereo, cruise control, storage and the fact that I’m paralyzed from the arms down the 3 wheels come in handy..lol

I was just wondering if you ever had to adjust the valves on your c50t?
I asked the mechanic at the dealer about it when the motorcycle had about 18,000 miles on it and he told me that even if the Owners manual recommended it at that mileage that he didn’t recommend it if the bike was starting and running well, which it was. So I never had them adjusted and the bike had about 25,000 miles when I traded it in last year.
I just bought a used 2011 C50T and it is great beginning bike for me. They did start putting the electronic fuel gauges on them so I don't have to do the odometer trick.

Otherthan that, I love my bike, and the price for it was too low to pass up.

The best video taken from a bike, I love the the angle of your camera and the way it shows the controls and the road. What camera did you use?
I use the Sony Action Cam HDR AS-300. It's a great low profile camera and mounts easily to the side of my helmet. I have a video that shows my set up and you can buy it from Amazon from a few diffrerent sources. I highly recommend this camera. It records in 1080p at 60 frames per second and has digital image stabilization. Thanks for watching and ride safe.
