You know you’re the GOAT when the opposing team’s strategy is to “not piss Jordan off”
Hahaha I remember a player saying that this is how he approached playing against MJ. You just kill him with kindness and you don't give him any reason to take sh*t personal 😂

And plays in a league where you can’t touch anyone. 65% of MJ’s career was during a time you could body check someone and not even a get a flagrant foul. MJ had every single tool. Jordan has more amazing highlights just during random games no one remembers like 2.3.90 against the Spurs and Robinson.
shit tim donaghy would beg to differ quote “I was in Philadelphia and I am refereeing Sixers-Bulls. They were cracking down on the spin move that they wanted the officials to call traveling. Michael Jordan makes the spin move, I make the call. Phil Jackson comes off the bench and he starts giving me sh*t. I say, 'wait a second, Phil. You know as well as I do that's the spin move they're telling us to call.' And he said, 'while they might want that play called, they certainly don't want it called on him', and he pointed at Jordan who just walked by and stared at me. I got in the locker room, the other referee said, 'they want that call but don't want to on him.”
@@yosnags8447Ummm… I was a teenager in the 90’s and I’m incredibly bored watching basketball now. However, I can say this irrefutable statement: BOTH MJ and LBJ get calls in favour of them. I wouldn’t be harping on that point as I see LBJ get all calls his way. You know he ISN’T getting a normal call his way when he’s screaming at a ref throwing a HUGE princess fit.
Are you kidding? MJ invented the legal travel. and had weak guards facing him in big games - mostly 1v1 with no zone defense. Ex, Danny Ainge, Dan Majerle, Craig Ehlo, Scott skiles, 175lb Kevin Johnson, etc. Dumars was ok, but the size of Steph curry and MJ lost to him lost of the time.
@@grillbuster1519 He had two step travels on breakaway dunks. They get about four steps today. There were lots of good defense guard, but even if you claim they weren’t, at least people played hard defense then and you had to be willing to get physically punished if you want to drive to the hole often.
My man you just destroyed a debate that wasn't even supposed to exist

Lebron👑🦁
@@naveenreddyadmala3669 Dude if we assume that Lebron is more athletic, that would make MJ even better than him because MJ has accomplished a lot despite being less athletic.
Jordan may very well be the goat/better player. I am a person who is really neutral on that topic. I would say that just because Jordan’s opponents in the finals won a lot of regular season games doesn’t make them just as competitive as the teams Lebron’s teams lost to. I feel like no team could ever beat the warriors teams with KD on them. Period. They are the goat juggernauts and they are weak for teaming up like that but no team is touching them in any era. So if the bulls would have had a chance to beat them and did, I would feel this way about Jordan, but I know they’d get punished like Everyone else who’d try to take on the 2 best shooters ever and the best 7 footer-ish ever in KD. And yes, he may be 6’11” but he is not 6’9” lol.
Scouting report on LBJ: make him go left. Send him to free throw line. Give him midrange jumpers.

It was an honour to be able to watch MJ all those years ago. No doubt the GOAT. The best there is, the best there was, the best there ever will be.
Maybe there will be someone who will come close someday... but by today's playing standards, the fact that playing actual defense in the league is almost non existent, I truly doubt it!

This is one of the most comprehensive videos I've ever seen on the Goat debate. I think one thing we can add to the eye test element is also how, just like at the end of the video, you see some of MJs circus shots, the outrageousness, the sheer poetry and elegance with which he plays. He's an artist and a killer rolled into one. Lebron's highlights are impressive too but they just don't have that wow factor that takes your breath away no matter how many times you watch it.
As for the longevity factor, it should be more about peak. Whose peak was higher.. Jordan accomplished more in a shorter period. If longevity is about who sustained his peak, then Lebron by right should have 10 championships. The fact he lasted at a high level longer than Jordan but probably only scratched the surface of MJs peak... That simply means MJ's peak was brighter higher stronger. That alone tells u something.
There is just no comparison. But here in this day and age people want their new basketball God and the most convenient guy and the guy who's always selling himself with his army of Nick Wrights and Shannon Sharpes... is that guy. And if you don't think Bron's the Goat, if you think he's number 2 behind MJ, wch is still high compliment but to his legions of rabid fans is unacceptable, then you're a hater. 💁🏻♂️
Adding to the Eye Test, try watching Lebron play today. Don't follow the ball, just watch him. It's astonishing how bad he is and the media still tries to tell you how amazing he is
Arguing who is the greatest player in NBA history is such a waste of time. The argument should be who is no. 2.
I’d argue Wilt tbh
@@nickmcmurray3130Absolutely--for that no. 2.
Nick McMurray if you’ve looked into anything about Wilt’s time you would know it was obvious that Russell was a better player. Coaches, analyst, and other players from that time say the same thing. Wilt isn’t even top 5
Lightnin I don’t really think it’s that obvious or simple. Russell was an incredible player and you could argue he was the most unselfish, most team oriented player of all time. And also the greatest rebounder and defender of all time. But Wilt just dominated too much for me not to consider him better. The fact is Russell played with better teammates and Wilt still took the Celtics to elimination games on multiple occasions. Wilt was a far better scorer, lead the league in rebounds more, played almost as good of defense, and even lead the league in assists one season, something no Center had ever done. And I believe that season the Sixers won 68 games, so it’s not like he was just doing it to stat pad, it actually lead to a really good winning record. Wilt holds more statistical records than anyone in history, while being a 2 time champion, a 4 time MVP, a Finals MVP, a 7 time scoring champion, ASG MVP, and won one of his MVPs as a rookie. Don’t mistake me for disrespecting Russell because I’m not. He’s the GOAT defender and was the most unselfish player in history. But Wilt was just different

The Bulls struggled in the first half of the season with a 23-25 record at the All-Star break.

@@neutralgirl8997 keep in mind lebron has been playing longer than mj and he didnt retire twice and come back in his 40s
They don't understand and will never understand...
In the words of Stephan A Smith "This shouldn't even be a discussion"
LEADERSHIP isn't mentioned here. Lebron has had the luxury of making team management trade everything they have (including future drafts) to get the teammates he needs to win while he's on that team. This is on every team he has been on, every year, except maybe when he was a rookie. Jordan took the teammates given to him, lead and managed them so that they would produce what he needed of them.
I think Jordan is the goat but we can't deny that jordan definitely had his hand in getting arguably one of the best rebounders in history to chicago
Lebum didn’t lead anything
He’s traded his whole team instead of making them better
While jordan stayed on his team and made the players around him better
That’s not the quality of a goat that’s the quality of a liter

What was Jordan “the goats” playoff record without pippen btw?
The Rabbit sent me.
Michael most underrated accomplishment was how he is the main reason why so many All-Time greats don’t have rings. Ex: Patrick, Barkely, Reggie, Malone
Gary payton gotta be up there too, imagine being known as the guy who clamped up jordan
I'm so glad he stopped malone from getting a ring
Also he managed to not lose 3 times in a row in the 90s which is insane
I concur.
44ron well he got one on the heat I believe

Pre-Championship MJ was Thanos without Infinity Stones, Post-Championship MJ was Thanos with the stones.
And lebron is loki
MJ even stole my stones lol
100% AGREE! 👍👍👍
6 stones
6 rings

What may be even more impressive than Michael Jordan, is that this is this guy's first video on youtube. You talking about coming out strong!!!!
Strong like a Bull ( pun intended )
It’s also his only video
Wow thats probably the best first video ever
Probably just a different username
@@jadenf6606 Yup his 1st video and its a banger!! He's got 1 in the bag already lets see if he goes 6 for 6 like MJ 😂
Jordan is the GOAT. He even push his teammates so hard to make his team the best team (most of the stars in Bulls after they join Bulls and winning with Bulls). Being Jordan's teammates wasn't easy, he want you to be better and train so hard everyday. I am not saying Jordan was the only one who make Bulls success, but he was one of them.
Thank you for providing this argument is a fair way. People on the internet and tv can’t do this comparison without getting toxic
“That’s God disguised as Michael Jordan” - Larry Bird
@@bigbillyjoe2487 i dont think the lebron thing cuz he plays very differently from both jordan and kobe if anything if there was no jordan LBJ might be the goat cuz he didint pattern his game with the two so he would still play as how he plays now and would prolly have the same accomplishments cuz he playd in a different era
@@gargar5508 thank you! I'm a LeBron hater but they need to leave the man alone he's his own person, very unique style of playing the game and different approach to the game. Kobe tried to mimic Jordan and modelled his game after Jordan the only difference is Kobe lacks the freakish physical attributes such as the leaping ability of Jordan, inhuman stamina and his athleticism Kobe compensated what he lacked with heart.
As for LeBron is LeBron there hasn't been another LeBron before, I'm a Kobe die hard fan but LeBron is modern basketball GOAT.
Jordan was one of a kind but outside the court he wasn't disciplined with his money and liked gambling and had bad habits. Kobe was a basketball monk but his legacy was tarnished by that sexual accusation back in 2003. There's literally nothing bad said about LeBron that has compromised his character, no controversy no nothing the dude dedicates to his craft and family.
The difference between this 3 individuals is simple Jordan did everything effortlessly, he had that killer instinct but he wasn't a try hard like LeBron and even Kobe. Even when he was facing adversity's and had the odds against him Jordan kept his cool, always looked like he was in control and had fun with it. Kobe and LeBron at times look like they don't want to be in the court, frustration got the best of them, they are very calculative and monotonous. Jordan was a box of surprises and made it all look effortless and fun. That's the difference, even though he was playing his ass off and leaving if all in the court he was so ahead of the competition that it looked like fun. LeBron leaves it all in the court and it shows, he looked vulnerable at times same with Bryant Jordan showed no weaknesses in the court.
Bird is the greatest all round player. He can dominate in 5 positions like no one else.
LeBron has been my favorite NBA player for as long as I can remember, but I can’t disagree with facts.
MJ is the GOAT. He is the ultimate winner.
Respect ✊🏾
Haris Wilkinson Bill Russell won the most*. That doesn’t necessarily mean he’s the “ultimate winner” considering there were less teams, less playoff games, and less talent during his era.
Kia Ghods couldn’t get out of the first round without pippen
@@datboidylan7200 Pippen was great. Put Pippen with Barkley, that would have turned the Suns into a consistent Championship contender.
Put Jordan with Barkley, that team wouldn't lose a Championship period, that's the difference.
Or give a career all-star caliber player another career all-star caliber player, you get a great team. Give a career all-star caliber player Michael Jordan, and you get a dynasty.
Swaggykilla without the rebound by bosh. ray allen and kyrie, Lebron would be 1-8 thank them.
Hell of a video for your first video!
You have to do more videos. This is the best I’ve seen. Appreciate you putting in the work for this!
So stupid to even argue this.
MJ won 3 in a row, took off to play baseball for two seasons, came back to win another 3 in a row.
One of the greatest stories in all of sports.
Imagine if MJ had been able to skip college. An extra 3 or 4 years of peak Jordan, maybe 2 more rings.
I agree there's really no comparison Michael Jordan is the goat.💯
With almost new roster in the next 3-peat
Wrong …. He came back lost to Penny and Shaq the. Won 3 more
So stupid to think championships determine who’s better bill Russell won 8 in a row but lemme guess he faced plumbers? Mj best competition KD alone is better than 98% of them people gotten more skilled overtime? Bron better
Jordan is in a class of his own. He created the expectacle that the NBA is today. You didnt went to see him play. It was to see him perform. Like an actor or a musician. He simply took the game to the next level.
"Like an actor or a musician" ... well said. A basketball artistic genius who put masterpieces as opposed to a 'hulk' who huffs and puffs !
I see the video title and “I took it personally”. 😂
1-on-1: Peak Jordan vs peak Lebron then Jordan absolutely stomps and schools Lebron 10 out of 10 times.
There is no debate. I am not massive basketball nerd. But, I have played sports all my life and I am sadly 50 today. I know what dominance looks like in game. I’ve seen both guys play. Jordan is the GOAT and nothing Lebron does or says will change it. #Jordan23 🙏
Great video sir, best vid I have seen on it, very well done!
Amazing !!! Very, very well-done!!!
who's here from the Ingersoll website?
This video is the best breakdown I’ve ever seen. We also forget that Mj retired twice while he was at the height of his career. If he never retired, he would have played 18-20 seasons, probably won 8 rings straight and his stats would be even more crazy. He will always be the greatest of all time.
An obviously biased video is not "the best breakdown video" dude.
@@samm552 Lol, you’re so butthurt. Third comment I’ve seen of you whining.

@@d_shiesty9451 he compared relevant stats tho… even the 8 most fundamental stats for basketball had jordan over lebron
@@amoron6435 no, the way he compared them was idiotic just to boost the narrative that Jordan is better… I believe Jordan is the goat but it’s extremely close and some the things this guy did and said was blasphemy. Instead of raw statistics he manipulated it in a way to make Jordan’s stats look better… there were far better small forwards in league history then SG who mainly had just Kobe, AI, and Wade who even Lebron was better at almost everything then them… Lebron has to compete with people like KD who arguably the best scorer of all time which rules scoring, Larry bird, erving, kawahi, PG, melo, etc… all players with crazy stats in certain categories, if Jordan was switched to small forward position he’d be lower, but even if that isn’t enough he didn’t even take in account coach’s play these positions differently, or the fact Lebron plays point guard a lot of his career, you’re supposed to compare stats… no matter the position, Lebron is a better rebounder, shot blocker, assist maker, better raw shooting percentage, and slightly behind in points per game. He also bashed on Lebron in Jordan’s winning categories while going easy on Jordan in the one Lebron won. Worst of all this idiot said physicals don’t matter in goat talk🤦🏽♂️ that might be the stupidest take I’ve ever heard, he was clearly biased

Ofcourse man MJ
To me it's simple. Lebron's 2007 finals performance where he shot 35% from the field and his 2011 choke job finals disquialify him from the GOAT convo. 3.5 Championships (Mickey Mouse championship) in 21 years whereas Jordan had 6 in 15. MJ all day

Nice job young man. I am 59 and got to watch it all. No one gets it unless you actually see it. Jordan was a killer. He would have been the best of anything he wanted. Baseball would have been his pitch if he went after it early in his life.
Here’s the thing, Jordan, after winning three titles with the Bulls, took a two-year break, then came back to a completely new weak Bulls team with only Scottie Pippen as a veteran from the old days. In the matter of a single season he turned that group of strangers into a championship team. Three years running. Let me know who else in basketball history did something like that through force of will alone.
they picked up rodman and steve kerr in those last 3 years
@@vickramsingh5814 And both of them had problems in their career at the time
@@vickramsingh5814 Steve Kerr was just a journey man backup PG before the Bulls, and Rodman was nearly out of the league before the Bulls because of his antics with the Spurs. Rodman brought rebounding and defense, Steve brought shooting. They were not as impactful without a superstar like MJ leading them.
He turned that team into a championship team in less than a full season. He came out of retirement and rejoined the Bulls after they already had played 50+ games.. Amazingly, he dragged that .500 Bulls team to the playoffs but they ended up losing to the Magic i think. Its completely understandable if you take into consideration that Jordan was not in basketball shape as he had been playing baseball for the previous year and a half.
Oh yes, the amazing Steve Kerr...who had a career average of 6 points a game.
Rodman was a great pick up, but was also seen as a huge risk. Because at that time Rodman was damn near impossible to coach and was a major distraction. Rodman was almost out of the league because no one wanted to deal with his nonsense anymore.
Not to mention he wasn't exactly in his prime when he joined Chicago either.

This video needs to be shown anytime this topic is brought up. You didn't use personal bias or weak arguments. You kept it entirely factual and put certain things in perspective that people try to leave out because of the "era" or position debate. Hands down the best analysis and if this is the first video you are on your way.
The producer of this video is the baby goat...are you kidding me? Great sound, great video, and SPOT ON narration of a perfect argument. Over and over and over...X2 was EPIC.

The crazy part is all these stats weren't avaliable at mj era and still he went out every game giving his best ... while nowadays players look at thier stats and thier personal accolades more than winning mentality
That's nothing new.
Look at Wilt before he got to the Lakers (though he was STARTING to change a little with the 76ers under the ONLY coach to ever beat the Russell-era Celtics).
