My husband wanted me to tell you THANK YOU! Your vid helped fix his long time problem with his truck, he is soooo happy. His truck is idling smooth, has power, running great!
I had this exact same situation!!! Same hose, same tape!! Owner that sold it to me used tape but it was cracking even more. Replaced the hose and now it's all good
I have a B3000 with the same engine. I started to see hesitation and misfires. I had a smaller vacuum hose that connects to the canister purge valve that was leaking badly.
I wouldn't use electric tape to do that , but I have used tape and other products to make it so that wear a hose is rubbing up against something else it doesn't rub through the hose . Maybe someone had the right idea but just used the wrong damn tools .
My same truck. Always thought it sounded like a sewing machine. Check engine light comes on about once a year. OBD2 says cyl 3 misfire. Knew it had a detectable miss at idle, but now has a rough idle after cold start. We'll see.
YOU ROCK THANK YOU SO MUCH! I'VE BEEN TRYING TO HELP FIGURE OUT WHAT'S WRONG WITH MY BUDDY'S RANGER FOR A WHILE! GOD BLESS YOU! 🙏
2 years later and your about to be the reason yet ANOTHER ranger is back running smooth and getting just a bit better mileage 😂 thank you sir!

That line was so easy to overlook thank you for posting this video your the G.O.A.T.
Wow! Been fighting this issue for years. Checked the line and found it was crumbling, with the help of some mice. Thank you so much!
What you are calling an alternator is actually the air conditioner compressor.
But your diagnosis is for sure correct.
I will check the same vacuum hose buddy I have the same problem, thanx very much
Good find man, I'll have to check my hoses and such
Thank you for the kind advice!
Thanks for the explanation. I will check it on my 2010 Ford Ranger.
I will check this out on my Ranger because it is having a rough idle.
Good job, kid.

Absolutely splendid 👌
Gotta look for this tomorrow ✌
That not the alternator that’s the ar compressor
He will get better, he's impressive, don't you think? Not some punk kid.
good job my brother

Dude, thanks! My leak seemed to cause very erratic idle speeds!
Ancient Chinese secrets
Where’s is the hose connected to in the back??
Under brake lines
Were you getting a flashing CEL because of a misfire at idle?
I don't think so maybe tho
Ancel s300 smoke machine has it's own pump to smoke out leaks. Ebay has it.
Your alternator looks just like an AC compressor 😂
Great video thank you🖖🏻🧔🏻♀️🇺🇸
Fuck yeah
Is that like 2001 4.0
99 acc pretty rare too
@@EveryDayCrew1 what is acc?
@@treyvinton3000 actually it's a 1999 4.0 this year with this motor also being the xlt 6'bed 1 1/2 cab

That alternator looks an awful lot like an ac compressor.
It’s called vacuum leak
Is this the same as a 4.0 #001
It is a 4 liter
