    Tried it and it's delicious! I'm so used to putting in a bunch of spices and I expected this to be less flavourful because you only use a couple but boy was I wrong! Swapped that saffron for turmeric and loved it. Great!

    I'm cooking this right now, following every step. Thank you again for another gorgeous meal, the smell in my kitchen is driving everyone nut's, all I can hear is "when will it be ready, Dad?". I resisted the urge to tamper with the ingredients and I'm only adding garlic & thyme croutons'.

    made this one a few days ago - one addition, i added some cannellini beans (just because i love them in everything!) and it was delicious! so simple, and the flavor and aroma are so comforting. i could eat a bowl of this every day :) this channel has helped me change my diet to be much more plant based. thank you Albert!

    i made this last night for dinner - no green peppers in the house, so i had to use what i had: Red and Yellow bell peppers. This was so simple, and delicious!! Because of one of your other videos, i've started cooking using saffron. The aromas are just incredible through the house! This was a big "yes", and will be made again. Loved it!

    I am so happy to find this recipe as my 48 year old son just told me on the phone that he misses the yellow soup with potatoes and garbanzos that he remembers from when we lived in Spain... and guess what... we moved from Spain when he was 7 years old and he still remembers that soup!... So I promised I would look up how to make it... Thank you so much!!!

    Española aquí, siempre vengo a tu canal a por las recetas que hacíamos en casa de pequeña.
    La sencillez y el sabor de los platos españoles es difícil de emular.
    Este con espinacas lo llamábamos garbanzos con bufanda en mi casa.
    Y lo mejor es que al estar en inglés cuando la gente me pregunta que cómo lo he echo les mando la receta, porque vivo en Sudáfrica.

    Anda que he comido yo pocos platos!. La pinta desde luego la tienen perfecta ... Mum used to be a dab hand at preparing this sort of dish and I'm now convincing my English wife to use more legumes/pulses because as they say, it is a plato 'bueno, bonito y barato' ... specially when there is a glass of drinkable red wine available too!. What else can you ask for?. Anyway, glad to know that you are still presenting real food that real people eat back home. Well done and thanks ...

    As a Indian I can totally feel the aromas and taste but instead of saffron we add turmeric for flavour. I just Love chickpeas.

      Isnt turmeric do more for color, then taste?

      @@Vednier yes but a teaspoon or pinch of turmeric won't over power the colour or taste of the dish as many people can't afford saffron because it's costly

    These chickpea recipes are killers. I love chickpeas and I have tried these awesome recipes all. I added cumin powder, cayenne pepper, cinnamon and a jalapeño pepper to this recipe, and some chopped spinach. Oh my God! Grab a loaf of Tuscan bread and you are in heaven.

      Actually, you can make a chickpea stew out of everything. I'm from Spain and we make it with cod and spinach, with chorizo, with vegetables, with garlic and paprika... you can eat it with everything.
      And while it's true you can get very good canned chickpeas, I think you really get the best flavour and texture by buying them dry. All you gotta do is soak them in hot water at least 12 hours before cooking, and let them cook for 2-3 hours without letting them stop boiling, starting to cook the chickpeas with lukewarm water.

    My Mother-in-law who is Puerto Rican made this for me in the past. It was delicious & up to that point I had no idea chickpeas could be used anyway other than cold in a salad. She is now gone so I'm grateful for your video so I can make it for myself! Looking forward to more recipes!

    One of my favourite starters (together with Lentejas) here in Murcia where they include fewer peppers but always have Cale as an ingredient. Delicious and nourishing.

    Your vids are so straightforward, easy, simply and good - wonderful to watch b/c I instantly remember the recipes and it makes it easy to do. two spices i never use - paprika and thyme - barely know what they taste like except there is no heat involved.

    First time, prepared per recipe. Delicious!2nd time, I improvised. Added 3 potatoes ( needed to feed more people) and i had about a 1/2 c. left over marinara and I added 2 heaping T of olive tapenade and about 1T lemon juice. This is such a good recipe and lends itself well to improv

    Hi from Miami Florida, I am Cuban but grow up in the USA, my family still keeps our culture my grandparents were from Spain but move to Cuba in the early 1900s and my mom always made garbanzo but she used the real one from the package,Cuban people eat a lot of red beans white beans grabanzo,we add pumpkin, we add also the fat part of the pork and potatoes very similar like in Spain we have kept our heritage even in the USA.Thank you for your recipes.

    I love chick peas. I could eat them in any way. This dish looks so good and so easy to make. I also love bell pepper but no one else in my family dose so I will have to omit it. Thank you for this.....I'll be watching for you

    I made this last weekend, and it was delicious. I did not use as much garlic but added onion powder and garlic powder. I am allergic to tomatoes, so I substituted sliced black olives. It was amazing. Thank you so much. This weekend I am cooking the Authentic Spanish Vegetable Paella dish. I am hooked.

    Thanks so much for your recipes! I learned to make cocidos from a woman coming from Andalucia. I usually order the bone of a ham at the butchers (I live in Germany, and they mostly give it away free of cost) and add it to the stew (...take it out of the pot a couple of minutes before the stew's ready). This gives a nice flavour to it. It's not a vegetarian stew adding this bone, but maybe someone wants to try it out.

      If you use chickpeas that have to soak overnight cook them about twenty to twenty-five minutes before you add the potatoes because they will need a little longer to cook!

    I cooked this tonight with a couple of additions, mushrooms and the remains of the spinach from your other recipe I made earlier in the week. Superb and I am a confirmed carnivore but I will definitely make this again!
