    Thanks for the inspiration, Matt! 7 months off benzos, still tapering the SSRIs and I have faith this will get better too for all of us .. somehow I have been working again as well, despite the akathisia, and I think it's so true that once you are out of acute distraction and pretending to be normal are really the key players. Hey Matt. Thank you so much for this update. I found you when I first started my taper. I was on Klonopin and Lexapro for 6 years. I already tapered Lexapro. I didn't have a lot of problems with that one. I am halfway through my klonopin taper and it's a different animal. While my symptoms are nowhere near as severe as yours I have a lot them. Mostly a lot of anxiety and bad insomnia. I also have muscle twitches and nausea. You are an inspiration to me. Thanks for caring and sharing. You are a lovely guy. Love to you. Glenn

    So happy for your update and glad you're still here on yt! I am moving to another city with my boyfriend as well and I wanna be very optimistic about it. It's a more quite city and it's just what I need. It can feel equally as refreshing as scary. It has been so hard for me to loose food and other stuff I enjoyed back when my body could take basically anything. It's been 3 years tapering now, and I can finally drink coffee (decaf but were getting there!) and it's always been one of the best ways to start my mornings and just having that back, gives me so much hope. I'm so happy to hear how you're tolerating carbs again, it really does get better.

    I can feel from you the maze-like nature of the healing process (what I can relate from the tapering I do for years now and have more years to keep tapering) and the very high difficulty you face, but I also can see a very good sign of healing and improving and I want to strenghten you and to say that I am sure that you know exactly what to do and you do it just right, perfectly. Don't let anybody make you doubt your actions in the process. They can't and they don't understand. YOU are. Just keep going and spread your insights. Many people need it and get helped from that I am sure. I glad you come back to do videos I was concerned you would quit lol but you have, I believe, in a sense an aim to awake others to evolve in how they relate to mental health. Wish you all the success.

I’m 5yrs off and have improved a lot but occasionally get what I’d call throwbacks that make me doubt my progress and just want to know if this is normal this far out? For the first 4 years I felt so unreliable to my kids, family and friends. Back then I didn’t know when I was going to have a wave and be bedridden for a week. Each year gets better and better but I still have some time to go I feel. 5.5 years and I’m still trying to fathom that this shit goes on around the world . Good luck to you and your family. It makes living amongst the normal almost impossible. I find now as long as I manage my environment and keep my workload and stress to a minimum I can retain stability to an extent but any sudden exposure to heightened stimulus or conflict as such can send me spiralling backward and into a wave for a couple days.. although this one in particular has extended beyond a week and quite uncomfortable. I am very real with people who are in protracted and want me to do hypno with them- I don’t recommend it until symptoms have calmed down a lot. It requires the ability to deeply relax. • @Heymattmarin
      @Heymattmarin  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I’m so sorry you’re experiencing that. If your intention is to come off of the klonopin, my advice would be to do it extremely slowly. Get on inner compass exchange and read everything there is to read about tapering. If you can, work with a withdrawal coach- I always recommend Angie. Join the tapering support groups she hosts. If you’re having too intense of symptoms, slow down and pause for a while. Slow and steady is the name of the game, even with “low doses”. That’s a total misnomer when it comes to drugs like these. Sending you so much love.

      @@LanceJones-mh7tz yeah man I still struggle with it on and off. The long long nights of sleep are once in a while. You’re gonna heal whether you sleep a lot or a little, don’t worry. Your body is working around the clock on this. I still can’t daytime sleep either. I had a little window where I was able to nap a few times but it closed and I have yet to see it open back up. But I do believe we will all be able to nap and sleep through the night at the end of this bullshit. Keep going my friend. Much love to you.

    Hey Matt, I know you tried a lot of different supplements. I'm just wondering, did you ever try NAD+? There's been some talk about it in the community, and I thought of you. I thought, let me ask Matt, he may have some good advice or info on it. TIA.

      I tried it and sadly it skyrocketed my akathisia. I have heard of others being helped by it though.

Have started to experience more sense of normalcy.I became so allergic due to a migraine medication I could barely leave the house & was even triggered by fumes from other people’s food& products they were wearing, deodorants etc etc 😬Will never take a prescription again! I’m sorry you’re going through this. The gut healing portion of this recovery process was, for me, largely about time. I think alot of it is nerve damage that has to heal on its own. I also had to treat SIBO through a pretty intense protocol eventually but I was not physically ready for it until a few years out. I made a whole video about that you should check out. In the mean time, I would recommend sticking with as many organic, whole food meals as you can. I think that’s ultimately the best way to support our bodies overall. Sending love.
