- We are visiting the last Lighthouses on the Southern end of Anglesey, Llanddwyn Island.
There are two Lighthouses Twr Bach and Twr Mawr. Bach means small and Mawr means big in Welsh. There isn't much to see I'm afraid as the big tower was just an empty shell, and rather sad inside. The Lighthouses are not open to the Public, and it is a pay car park to get near them. However, it is stunning scenery down there and well worth a visit.

Good way to start Sunday morning.
Thank you very much and I hope you have a pleasant day. Take care
Absolutely brilliant. I’ve been to Llandwyn island many times it’s a lovely walk and remember looking through the window of that lighthouse wishing I could have a little explore but thank you so much for filming inside it. It was wonderful to see.
Thank you very much, glad you liked it. Yes, I think Llanddwyn is a rather nice place to visit, glad my video triggered some nice memories. Cheers and stay safe.
Marvellous video, agree your comments, sad indeed. Also enjoyed the wildlife sounds.
Thank you very much. Llanddwyn is one of those places where you can just chill and listen to all those sounds. Cheers and stay safe.
the sound of the waves.... nice touch
Thank you very much. I have never gone down the route of putting music on my videos, but my sound effects, waves etc are from Anglesey that I have taken myself.Cheers and stay safe.
love watching your videos.
Thank you very much and take care.
Great vid as usual Peter.
Thank you very much, much appreciated. Cheers and stay safe.
Really interesting. So sad that the lighthouses lost their keepers. It is like the beating heart was taken out of them. Where I live in Canada we still have some staffed lighthouses. They did try and automate them all but the need to have human eyes and ears on the ground in very remote parts over-ruled that. So they survive today. I wonder where else there are staffed lighthouses?
Thank you very much. Yes there must be other countries that decided to keep their Keepers? Glad that Canada kept at least some. Cheers, take care and stay safe.
lovely clip ♥♥
Thank you very much, glad you enjoyed it. Cheers, stay safe and take care.
Excellent clip Peter, what year would you estimate this footage was take? I notice compared to other clips the camera resolution on the motion footage has improved , was there a camera change?.
Keep the footage coming, I always look forward to watching them on Sunday Mornings.
Thank you very much. The footage is from the early 1990's, along with some photos taken much later on. The camera was a sony camcorder, which was an update from the sanyo one that I used before. Also, as and when I could afford it, I would use Hi 8 video tape instead of the 8mm tape that I could normally afford. Cheers and stay safe.
