My answer to the title is yes. I've test driven a few EVs now. For the price this is the best all rounder I've driven. The range is the best of all in the price range that I've tested, it's got a nice interior and feels like a nice place to be, it is nippy and fun to drive. Lots of cabin storage space (although the glove compartment is tiny), could do with a little more leg room and head room if you're over 6'0" (my head was touching the roof when i sat up straight (slightly unnaturally but still) and my knees in the back of the seat in front but my feet could go beneath the seat with the floor being flat. I agree with the 5 annoying things, especially the alarm but the reversing camera isn't really an issue for me though as I've never needed anything to help me reverse park before so sod the camera. I think I'd go for the Allure model, just seems the best value for money, you don't get enough to justify the boost in cost between the allure and the gt line in my personal opinion. The MG ZS EV has been sold to me as the "best budget ev" but when i got a quote it was about the same cost as the e208 and although it's bigger the roof rails aren't standard and it's uglier, less luxurious inside and much less fun to drive. Practicality as a family car though, people might be right, but for me, the range is more important than that extra bit of boot space.
My first car was a 4th hand Peugeot 207 diesel hdi with over a 100k and that car is still going today. I think Peugeot diesels are some of the most economical around and can really last if looked after. Im seriously considering the new diesel 208 as I don't think I'm going to be disappointed. Thanks Matt for your reviews keep them coming!

Dude I can still see some fossils driving Peugeot 404 diesel around my city, and I ve heard that car was pretty often used as a taxi back in days. I mean, Peugeot do know how to make diesels and French know how to make cars, example: Renault produce engines for Merc A/B class, and even more Merc has a stake in Renault, so I would like peeps to stop talking against frenches they better than American cars 🤔
I have Got the E208GT premium what a fantastic car and lots of toys i’ve had it just over two weeks …I have had lots of diesel and petrol cars in my life different size engines, but this is something else charging is easy lots and lots of charging points don’t be afraid to go electric Enjoy ps and I am 73 …Love it…..
I’ve bought one of these. It costs less than the 300bhp petrol Audi that I had . Off the line to about 30mph it’s pretty much just as fast. Nobody follows me home now to see where I park so they can steal it. My fuel bill is now zero instead of over £120 per month because I live near a free charger. I’ve got Apple CarPlay which I didn’t have before and there’s no more having to pay Audi for map updates. Waze gives me instant traffic information. My insurance is less. It’s a different kind of fun, go test drive one. I drove the E Tron and the Tesla M3P but chose the e208 because it does what I want, looks good and costs way less than those. I like that it looks almost the same as the ICE versions, I didn’t want to drive a fashion experiment. And the best bit is the cool yellow paint is the no cost option. Well played Peugeot.
Except the Interior...I sat in a 508 recently and the interior quality is just awfully cheap, my almost 30 year old 309 and 306 have way more luxurious interiors than a new executive car.
With the glove compartment of a right hand drive, the cubby hole is nearest the driver and the manual actually goes to the left. Manual fits just fine Matt.
I own a Nissan Qashqai, which is having a small repair on a wheel at Ace Car care in Shrewsbury. As a courtesy car I have one of these e208 GT's. I think it's great, and it's in that Faro Yellow, it really suits it. Peugeot have done a great job on it. It's almost as comfortable as our Nissan (in some ways better). We couldn't live with it though due to issues getting in and out of cars due to bone issues and spinal injuries, hence the Qashqai. If we didn't have those problems and had the money for one, it would be a great little car to own.

If they want people to move into electric vehicles you have only two choices; do it the Tesla way or simply make electric cars so damn cheap that you are forced to have one. Selling slow charging mid-quality poorly powered hatchbacks for 30k€ (or more) ain't the correct choice. But they probably knew that already.
Amazing review thank you, I very much like your car review method, because you are Describing each and every aspect especially rates and milage . Keep it all 😁😂😀
Hi. Great channel ! Would appreciate it if you talked this year about the available commercial solutions (if any...) and the price for replacing the electric batteries in all these EV or phev cars. Just did a Tesla Model 3 test drive in Europe and as of now, battery replacement is 20 000 EUR. Doesn't this simply rule out these cars beyond their warranty deadline or as pre-owned cars for the greatest majority of people ? As of today what guarantee is there to have a compatible commercially available and affordable solution to replace the EV / PHEV battery beyond 160 000 kms or 8 years let's say ? Best.

Still troubled by the difference between kW and kWh I see (it's a 7.5 kW home charger, not 7.5 kWh). Quick crash course: * The watt (W) is the SI unit of power; 1 watt is the power applied in order to provide 1 joule (energy) over 1 second (time): power is energy divided by time. Additionally, a horsepower (hp) is also a unit of power, and 100 kW is equal to 136 hp. * The kilowatt-hour (kWh) is the amount of energy provided by a power of 1 kW, therefore 1000 W (k is the SI prefix for 10^3) over 1 hour (3600 seconds). Which means that 1 kWh is equal to 3.6 MJ (megajoules; M is the SI prefix for 10^6). Additionally, in a ballpark; 1 liter of fossil fuel has an energy equivalent, if fully burnt (100% efficiency... Your typical ICE car won't even achieve 20% at the wheel), of 10 kWh.
I somehow prefer the Opel/Vauxhall Corsa-e. I think it's due to the gloss black wheel arches on the Peugeot. I'm pretty sure they're not going to stay gloss black. They will eventually become scratched and matte so you'll end up with the jacked up Crossover look.
