*Stands out in the class. Peugeot are killing it with their designs.* 👍
I work in a Peugeot dealership and see these cars everyday, but will I listen to Thomas blab on about them for 36 minutes? Absolutely!
Nice job you have! And Peugeot cars really have a beautiful design.
@@DonDixit Thanks for you reply! I think the PSA group is doing a good job, Peugeot looks nice (I am not a fan of that small steering wheel, though), Citroen is on a good path too C4 and eC4 and since they bought also Opel, which by the way has this very catchy project called Mokka X, but electric, they are more powerfull.
My father owened a Peugeot 306, a sedan. Very elegant even at that time.(2000-2006). So Peugeot has a reserved place in my heart even if I own one of the German brand, now. The boring one. ; )
I am 185 cm, and I have no problem finding a good driver position that looks over the steering wheel.
The driver driver so good and here in 2024, you can buy a used one for like 16.000euro.
I bought a used 2022 gt.
I saw this car in plastic, rubber and iron. A spectacular little car, design wise, which demonstrates an EV doesn't have to be ugly as hell.
I have to say, Peugeot nailed it with this design. This is a good looking car, too many models have too much going on right now, but not the 208. Well done them.
I'm going to make a cup of coffee, lean back in the sofa and relax while watching another Autogefühl review 👍
EXACTLY what I do.. but on my break at work 😂👍🏼
This presenter's voice is so soothing 😅

My wife got one of those last week. It is awesome. The most brilliant and cool looking small EV.
In 6 weeks i am getting my Polestar 2. I hope it is better :)
Great test again as usual.
Please tell us more about fuel consumption
@@mattym8038 I live in Norway where EVs are 100% tax free so they have the same price as their petrol/diesel equivalents (+/- 10%).
It was time to buy new cars so it was just luck those two came out now :)
Also electricity in Norway is free this whole summer because the production is too high. So it is no brainer to get an EV .... they have no road taxes for now, half tolls, and they pay very little for public parking (4 euro per week....)
@@ravenheart369 I drive a petrol BMW at the moment so i know all about that too... been a petrolhead my whole life but 2020 EVs are gamechangers... for me at least :)
The fact you did not buy a Tesla means several things: the market in Norway for EVs and their infrastructure is mature enough to not depend on Tesla supercharging network but rather to feel free to have your own choice; Tesla still has drawbacks like - built quality, expensive repair service, overpricing for relatively spartan interior with no true luxury, faster than other EVs battery drain while parked due to continuous computer run and not being able to calm down, very low profile tires with harsh ride often becoming flat in potholes, no sound proofing, very poor quality brakes for salty Norwegian roads desintegrating in a winter season;
you do not travel so often outside Norway to NEED a Tesla to be able to use ALL fast charging networks available on the way, which outside Norway people prefer on very long trips; the design and features in Peugeot e208 and Polestar-2 do fit better your and your family needs than choices provided by Tesla.
That is so cool and remarcable when one is looking back to the history of EV adoption in Norway starting from very humble beginnings not too long ago with Kewet, Buddy, Th!nk and so on.
@Oi Oi Oi! Well we usually pay 1-1,5 NOK per kWh but at the moment it is at 0,03 NOK per kWh. In addition to that we pay 0,4 NOK/kWh for net-fees. So currently it adds up to ca. 0,04 Euro per kWh.... which is basically free. The reason is that Norway produces over 80% of its power needs from Hydro electric stations and right now they are over-producing so they are giving the power for free...
A few years ago, I worked on that infotainment system - don’t kill me, I worked only on the speech recognition and navigation announcements part.
The last hardware revision has 8GB of RAM, which is kind of insane for these systems(usually these have 512MB to 2GB).
Hi there (yes a reply after 1 year). I was wondering what the system uses all that memory for. Do you know?
Such a pleasant voice! Also detailed, professional review. A pleasure to watch even if you're not interested in the car.
Hey could you do a head-to-head of the e208 and the Zoe? Acceleration, range, charging, and drive them from 100% side by side to close to 0%. That would be a great video since the cars are so similar. And also an Opel eCorsa, a head-to-head-to-head video with all 3 of them driven from full to empty would be so awesome. Cheers.
With no government grant, almost no charging infrastructure and one of the highest electricity prices in the world this car sadly makes no sense here in Belgium. That's why I went with 130hp petrol version. But I have to fully agree that the EV version is more fun to drive and the better option if you have a healthier climate for EVs in your country.
best car reviews on TH-cam Thomas - I really enjoy all of them - thank you
highly appreciated! :)
I truly hope that PSA imports this vehicle to the U.S.. We need more EV choices here in the States. Thank you Thomas and team... very thorough review. Greetings from Arizona. 🌵🌴☀️🌵🌴🌵
Best greetings, love AZ 🌵
32'59" - Thomas shows respect to cyclists !!
of course - always!
That's because he is a 100% considerate guy..
Hey Thomas,
Excellent review for a pleasant unique little EV car.
Congrats!
🙏🙏
Hands down the prettiest hatch in town in ICE or EV.
I think the black wheel arches is a mistake. Makes the wheels look too small and the distance between the wheel and the body huge.
Peugeot is designing some very good looking cars lately. This one is an exceptionally designed coupe. Great review again Thomas. This is a winner. Better than all the crap coming from Korea.
@BananaPeal0 I think it may be expensive because it has looks the other horrible electric economy model cars do not have. (Kia, Hyundai, Golf etc) Looks make the difference in this world. Think Chanel handbag; there is no need to own one for thousands of dollars, when a common handbage for $20 does the job. But a Chanel looks better. ha ha
Mine e-208 GT is coming in 10 weeks (I hope nothing will mess up that)! 😍
Great Review and detail, as per normal Thomas - many thanks. Nice looking car. I like the light coloured seats. Shame the ride is a bit harsh - that will not be good at slow speed on the UK's torn up, rough city streets. At 31:15 you didn't show us that 'fast' vehicle - we missed it! Best wishes Team.
I've found it good on bumpy Irish roads, no better/worse than UK roads, but on sharper edged bumps/potholes it is a bit on the harsh side. I've had ours up on a few twisty mountain roads and it drives well pushing on a bit with predictable handling, I don't expect it to be a Gti but it's not a slouch.
My favorite color is easily the mustard yellow - gorgeous!
Lovely Review, only the best from this channel.!
I love how positive people are and forgiving when it comes to any other segment that does not involve Teslas. I wish it was like that for every car that is being made as many people put their life efforts into making one and the people discard it with a 2 second comment on TH-cam because they don't want to see their investment depreciate...
Peugeot is doing the same great stuff now that they did in the 80s and 90s. Good job. Great video again :)
cheers keep following !
Hi Thomas, I am wondering if there is a reason why short reviews are available before the long ones. Sometimes I am interested to watch only the long version, but because I can't wait for it to be published, I watch the short one first... and then the long one! So I watch them twice in a way! Good thing for you is that you get more likes, haha! But why do you release the short version first?
Peugeot with their "stupid" small steering wheels : Thomas, be honest : you have no clear view to the display instruments now do you ? It distracts if you want to read information. Distraction means more time to read the data which results in don't looking at the road....
The wheel is perfect!
I must disagree I have a 3008 and find it perfectly fine, in fact got so use to it that I've recently drove a Renault Clio with conventional setup and found I had to take my eyes off the road to check the speedo where as I don't with the 3008. Give it a go you might be surprised?
I'd like to see a head to head comparison between this and the ID3.
Not the same category tho
@@TonyyHD In what way? They have similar specs and similar price, and are a reasonably similar size.
Monsta Munch not correct. The ID start at 38k€ base price where the e-208 starts at 31k€.
The ID is in the compact size category where the 208 sits in the smaller one (city size/economic).
You can’t really compare them directly.
@@TonyyHD You are mistaken ID3 starts at €30,000 and the e208 at roughly the same. They are both classed as compact.
@@TonyyHD The 38k price you're quoting is for the 1st Max version which is the highest spec. For a fair comparison to the e208 you'd be comparing it to the GT spec which is 36k. Again, a negligible difference
If i was going electric this is where i would put my money.
Great review, Thomas!
Any big difference between e208 vs. e2008 from a performance or powertrain or range perspective?
Hey Autogefühl you guys are doing a great job!!
Please make 4K videos!
I’m crossing my fingers for you that it’s got a Vegan leather interior! I always love your videos!
Would be nice a comparison between the e208 and its brother, the Corsa-e
Check it out here: th-cam.com/video/0qRxq6NXja4/w-d-xo.html
How about the 2024 face lift?
When will they make an GTI one? Should have 180-200 bhp that would be good
I wonder that if there are lots of things between GT and GT Line. As I understand GT Line also have everything almost GT has some minor things... Like wider trims etc.
Brilliant review Thomas! 👌🏻
Does it have that crappy torsion bar suspension setup in the rear?
whats the Price of this car??
Compared to the bulky proportions and huge overhangs in the noughties Peugeot´s exterior car design has definitely moved in the right direction. I like the taut lines and crisp details like the lights. Still not sure about the dashboard layout though. I like to sit low and have the steering wheel relatively high up and wouldn´t want to live with constantly blocking my view on the main instrument unit.
Excellent review. Thank you 🙏

Good video with Thomas
Quality video as usual 😎👍
So thomas : this 208 or the ID.3 for the same budget ?
@BananaPeal0 For the same price the ID3 will have a really shorter range and a slower charging speed. Thus, Peugeot 208 wins for long travels.
Interior quality of the 208 is also really better and more luxurious.
nice car, and review!)
Could you please make a video of it’s Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop & Go function. Thanks again for a good video!!!
Getting the 16 inch wheels for better ride comfort.
i know its an unusual question, but can "you" drift with this or other electric cars?
Model3 has track mode and can be drifted more or less. This is front wheel drive soo..
If you could add the numbers as you are saying it would make an even greater video
Im new to the whole electric world really; but seriously on the verge of getting this. Can anybody recommend good sits for looking up a fast charger (or indeed a site that talks about electric charging options) for France (and Europe too if possible). There are all these networks and norms and, other than Tesla ones; im confused!
nice video
Greetings from Normandy, Great video as usual, I like the Thomas blue Peugeot, but I think if I buy a car for myself I will get the Skoda Eniyaq, but I might wait for the coupé...
How long until we see ~200kWh batteries in small and mid size hatchbacks in the 20k€ price range? 5 years? 10? To be comparable to modern gasoline and diesel engines.
Peugeot: The French Mercedes Benz!
Citroen: The French BMW!
?
Yea, right. Name a single Citroen that is even close to a Mercedes in the same segment, or a Peugeot that is close to a BMW.
What similarities are there between M-B and Peugeot? 😂
Things less smart: the position of the dashboard and the infotainment system.
Is this a re-upload or I can forsee the future?
This was very freshly filmed. I have never driven the e-208 so far, I did drive the combustion version here: th-cam.com/video/1d4Z8yAA6oA/w-d-xo.html
@@autogefuehl oh! Yes same car, same color, same roads?
But this time it's the electric version, no wonder I confused it with the other video. Thank you for the explanation!
woow good review i recently reviewed the e 208 in my channel its a wonderful car woow
I too know of this "3 finger trick" you speak of Thomas. Use it on my girlfriend often, though usually also works with 2. 🤓😏
great video. Limited car quality
Nice looking car, but not sure about the instrumental panel design. It looks like an ergonomic disaster and certainly the steering wheel is designed by someone who had no idea of the position of the dash, or vice versa! Quality looks suspect too! Additionally, yet another penny pinching by Peugeot Group with no cover for the AC charging port. The fact that water can get in just from washing the car risk water getting into the electrics. A simple hinged cover will probably cost PSA less than 1 Euro.
where can i get me one of them Poojoe's??
France or Europe or maybe some other countries just google it ...it's that easy

It is a simple design built on simple shapes and simple details that do not require any tangible skills to create.
This has been combined with an odd vertical line in the front and stern and a simple double angled line in the side.
And then they have added different DRL lights at the front and a taillight panel.
The whole is different, It is not a bad or completely failed design, it is satisfactorily good, however, if you look at it as it really is, it is not fantastically designed or especially skillfully executed.
It creates a first superficial impression that deceives everyone, it can look impressive until you start critically examining it in detail.
The proportions for the back door is very poor, the fuel cap is carelessly placed in the design, the tailgate and the C-pillars lines, seen straight from behind, are without finesse and actually boring.
The large grill follows the same fashion as everyone else with large grills, here one does not try to find one's own form, strangely enough.
The front is not ugly, but the stern is as close to ugly as you can get, the vertically cut stern is very "strange"... it is uncomfortable without harmony and clumsy, playing the only card to look different.
208 trys to look like a WRC car and they do not prioritize looking good.
Great :)
Seats are animal free?
You can get animal free seats for this one yep
Still that naff Peugeot steering wheel
Does it have liquid battery temperature management? NO , Does it charge at more than 50 kW DC ? NO, Does it charge at more than 11 kW AC ? NO, Does it have semi-autonomous driving ? NO, Does it have OTA ? NO. etc, etc, etc
... what does this have to justify costing 35.000€ for ONLY 290 km real range ????
Why on earth would anyone buy this B segment car with no technology or equipment and little range over a ID.3 that cost the same, is C segment outsite and D segment inside and can offer 420 km range and top technology and equipment?
As far as I know it has liquid temperature management and does charge at 100kW. 11kW ac is quite good for home charging and it is still about 5000 Euro cheaper than a similar equipped Id.3.
Nice Car Greetings from Honda #HondaE
Nada que ver este auto con el que se fabrica en Argentina.
Those tiny steering wheels ruin Peugeot cars. It feels like driving along whilst steering using a saucer. Other than that the styling of this car is fantastic.
@Autogefühl : Bei solch kleinen Wagen wäre es nicht verkehrt zu wissen, wie groß sie sind, wenn sie den Platz auf dem Rücksitz testen ;-)
Ich sag doch in jedem Review meine Größe
Peugeot needs to move away from that I cockpit nonsense. The steering wheel below the dials don't work and I know several people who bought a Clio instead of a 208 because of it.
SDav21 You are completly wrong. I drived several times cars with I cockpits. It was ways better than an normal steering wheel. You have to put the middle of the I cockpit steering wheel at the same height as in a "normal" car, and then everything is fine. But some people put the top of the wheel in the same level as in another car: then it's hidding the instruments.
By the way, in a car with a normal or big steering wheel, you can also hide your instruments by puting it too high or too low, that's not a problem at all...
@@marc_hm_ This is just from my experience. I've seen many people say they don't like it. I'm 184cms tall (so about exactly 6ft) and my knees touch the bottom plastic part of the steering wheel surround when getting in and out of the car. It's better in the 3008 but still. They should just do away with it.
@@SDav21 I am not that tall but I agree with you. I did a drive test with Peugeot 3008 before taking the decision on what car should I buy. Didn"t like the idea of having that type of cockpit every day. But the design is spectacular, without any doubt.
čak i audi za ovim zaostaje 10 god,štabi tek rekli za pola
The famous 3D instruments is a disaster in safe and efficient operation and usability, lots of information is squeezed into a small space without drivision and order with lots of distracting lighting effects and entertainment, this belongs on a computer game in the living room and not on a real car out in the traffic.
The Peugeot i-Cockpit is not functional, what Peugot claims is not true.
The instruments are not high enough, they do not use the space in the panel to sit so high that they would really work as Peugeot claims.
It is not a seriously meant function, only a PR ploy to get attention.
The luxurious center console makes the car narrower in the front seat and according to EuroNcap it damages the front passenger's legs in an accident.
Crash test shows that the front is more aggressive towards pedestrians in an accident.
The Traction Control system is less effective.
The 208 GT-Line LED headlights LED indicators is virtually badly functioning, the small narrow line placed next to the DRL line masks the function.
No fog lights.
This is not a good car, it is luxury and play and entertainment, absolutely nothing more, that there are so many rogue drivers out in the traffic who dream of a car like this is scary and dangerous.

in a Tesla the electric Motor is not very trustworthy. 😉
I have a Peugeot 7 year old with only 70000 km. Will never buy a Peugeot again, had so many problem I could make a long list here. With this new Peugeot I can guarantee that the battery will last much longer then the car itself👍
I have a 2014 Peugeot 208 GTi with 60.000 km. Beside a broken fuel pump in the warranty period no problems at all. Can't complain.
@@oliverhuhn9889 i have a 208 eHDI from 2012 with 100.000 Km. No Problems all the time. Best Car ever and the next Car is a Peugeot.
Peugeot is very poor quality. I also had a 207. Never again Peugeot! Nice design with the 208 though. Renault is way better from a quality perspective 👍
Had so many strange problem with my 207 last year built before 208 version. Except from two expensive oil leakage repair and another thing I had to buy new seatbelts to the backseat because they did not roll up again, never happens on any other car I owned before. Many issues like this and I’m sure everything is designed to last 3-4 year
I have a Peugeot 308sw since 2013 and before that I also had a Peugeot 308sw since 2007. I have had very few problems. Excellent quality cars.
I know people love to repeat the myth that French cars break down, but my experience is nothing of the sort.
The first of these cars we got from my father in law, and I had lots of prejudice against French cars back then but the car proved me wrong, so much that we got another one when we changed car again.
