- I'm a total pro at making bad predictions, but once in a blue moon I fail and manage to get something right. Here are four times that happened.

This one has been in production for like half a year. For some reason its release just kept getting pushed again and again. But Kane worked really hard on it and has been dying for it to go out, so go tell him how good of a job he did and how awesome the Paper Mario part was.

My sister predicted Yoshi's Island 3 years before it came out. She said the sequel to SMW would have all sorts of different colored Yoshis that you could play as. I can't think of anything truly impressive that I have ever predicted.

Geocaching is kinda like your Pokemon Go idea. It's an app where you can find and/or leave little trinkets around the world from other players. You gotta follow clues and shit. It's kinda dope.
Early geocaching was rife with huge expensive prizes.

In German we say "auch ein blindes Huhn findet mal ein Korn", which roughly translates to "even a blind cookie monster sometimes finds a crumb" and I think that's not exactly beautiful but quite accurate

I remember watching a Nintendo Direct with my brother, and suddenly we saw the Tetris logo. He said "What is this Tetris Battle Royale. Lo and behold it was the reveal of Tetris 99.
Arlo is the only TH-camr that can spend 18 minutes talking about how amazing he is and still remain humble and likable.

I once predicted the electric blue color for the original Nintendo DS in a dream. I owned a dark blue laptop at the time, and in my dream it transformed into a dark blue DS. The next day Gamespy had published an article saying "Nintendo sings the electric blues", showing Nintendo's announcement of the electric blue color. I bought one as soon as they were available.

I speculated back when I was in high school that there would be a revamp of Gen 1 Pokémon games for newcomer gamers who wanted to get into Pokémon. I originally thought of Pikachu and Jigglypuff being the starter choices because of Smash Bros having the two, but it ended up becoming Let’s Go Pikachu & Eevee.
Another prediction I’ve made that’s still made me laugh so hard I though I was going to pass out was that Waluigi was never going to be in Smash, and there would likely be a different bizarre Mario character choice for a fighter before he’d get an inch of a chance. I predicted it would either be between a Boo, a Piranha Plant, or a Chain Chomp.
Eevee was the correct choice, since Eevee is second only to Pikachu in all time popularity. Jigglypuff and the originally intended mascot Clefairy have been among the least popular since their inceptions. Jigglypuff only got where it is today by having a hilarious personality in the Anime.
I think my favorite Arlo prediction is him saying that there would always be time between reveal and release

I had an idea some time around Hyrule Warriors release. I thought a crossover with Persona would be amazing. Also, I too had the Origami idea for Paper Mario.

I've gotten a few things recently. I've had a few times where I called how a certain character's Smash trailer would generally play out (Inkling, K. Rool, Incineroar, Min Min), I managed to call the direct schedule between the February 2019 and E3 2019 Directs (Indies in March, Smash (New Content Approaching) in April, Mario Maker in May), and I managed to call the fact that we would get a new Mario Kart game in 2020 (I was mainly thinking 9 but I'm still happy I called that since that's been a prediction I've had since 2017). As far as I can remember though, I can't really think of anything else I've called.

The one time I can say I predicted something was this new Zelda game. After playing botw I told my friend I think the next game would be a prequel where you will play as Zelda. So I was half right lol
People have been saying we should have a game where we can be Zelda (or Peach) for a decade now. I'm still not convinced BotW 2 is actually going to be the one to do it.

@@carlotta4th We already had Super Princess Peach, where the script was flipped and you played as Peach rescuing Mario. Playing as Zelda though? The memory that poisons that particular well still lingers, it's called: Zelda: The Wand of Gamelon. Due to that we'll likely get to play as a female Link in a mainline Zelda game, before we get to play as Zelda in one.

I whatched that show when i was a kid, and when i grew upp and went to acting school, one of my teatchers were the voice actor for the jazz fragel, the green one with the cap. It was pritty cool.

I always look forward to your predictions. I like that you put so much detail into them even though that makes them less likely to be correct.
I find it so strange that we thought Zelda would release in 2020. Even without Pandemic related delays, that was a 2022 game at it's earliest, and the complete lack of info surrounding it should have been a good sign that the Zelda team do what they always have, making the game more ambitious, which in turn results in the release date being pushed further and further back.
I want to hear more about this Fraggle Rock reboot you have in mind, sir.

I like how all my classmates are tryna be cool and edgy and selling their switches because “nInTEndO gAMes aRe fOR kIDs” (while playing cod, ironic) and I’m just chillin watching a blue puppet talk to me like an ecstatic child because he predicted a game where you live with animals and plant flowers almost perfectly
(Just to clarify I really love Arlo and his content and do not think anything, Nintendo or arlo related is for kids, E for everyone not E for kids, that’s not how spelling works.

In my experience, when people grow up they stop trying to be like that lol. Like when I turned 17 I felt I could like the things I really liked with no shame, cause people around me grew up and realized they were just stupid kids

I remember that phase hitting my area when the GameCube was still Nintendo's newest console. After seeing me playing Metroid Prime, my friend group suddenly decided Nintendo certainly wasn't just for kids. Many of them also ended up lamenting selling their GBA prior to seeing that too.
Webcomic artist Katie Tiedrich described this as "The Pokemon Effect", and it's funny to see this happening with Nintendo specifically generation after generation.

When you talked about how in the game cube era Nintendo would just make games, that hit right in the feels. I grew up loving my Ps2 but craving the Nintendo experience, and now that i finally bought my first Nintendo console since the Super Nintendo, hoping i would have a similar experience as it was back then, they pull these kind of shenanigans. I still can't get over what they're doing with Super Mario 3d all-stars and the joycon drift

My main prediction that isn't publicly documented anywhere was that Wii would have motion control, made off the cuff during a presentation I did on the evolution of game controllers. Just after the DS released when all we knew about the Wii was that it was codenamed Revolution. I think there were some other things, but the clincher was a really cool gyro-sword game in a local arcade combined with how out there the DS was in terms of what it used as input devices. Did not expect the speaker in the Wiimote, though. Or how much I was going to miss that when that was ditched on the Switch...

I kinda predicted Pokémon Sun and Moon before it came out but my theory was super super wrong. Sadly I have no prof of me predicting those things so you have to trust me. My predictions for the next Pokémon games will be that they are based off Peru or Italy and have Pokémon in them.

I remember when NSMBU was first coming out, I was thinking about how cool it'd be to see a speed run mode. We ended up getting Boost Rush mode, which is close enough I guess.

That Colors idea sounds really fun to me.
Maybe some places still have color, but it’s faded to keep things more visually interesting with some white and black zones with the most damage.

You're point on the TH-cam algorithm reminded me of a Alpharad's start to 2020. He took a break because of doing a semi-daily release schedule and got messed up on his previously explosive growth. He has recovered but he still took a giant hit and it took him 2 months to gain in subscribers what he made in half a month in 2019.
