In a few days I’ve gone from never playing a pikmin game to beating the first, playing the second, with the third ordered and the fourth pre-ordered. These remasters have allowed me to enjoy a completely new experience and I’m so glad for it!
I've played the 2nd and 3rd super excited for the 4th. I never got the chance to play the 1st one and nintendo 1st party are usually high at 2nd hand video game stores but now I can finally play it for a good price🎉
As someone who has wanted to get into pikmin and Metroid prime but never got the chance and dosent have access or the room for a GameCube, your exactly right about new people getting into the series. Metroid prime Remastered has me excited for prime 4 and I’m absolutely loving the first pikmin and plan on buying the rest of the series as well. I really hope they keep doing this because as a fan that only has a switch now it’s awesome to have all of them on one platform.
Yeah, I wanted to get into Pikmin for several years now. So the pikmin 1 and 2 is a great starting point. I could have bought Pikmin 3 deluxe a few years ago but the store didn't have the game only the case on display
It really IS awesome that the Switch is now THE home for Pikmin. (I'm sure there will be some Wii control defenders, but... the Wii doesn't have 3 and 4, heh.) Hope you actually buy Pikmin 3 and 4. Those games need to sell, ha. As for myself, those are the only ones I have so far, but I'll be picking up 1+2 soon.
well yes and no. skyward sword at 60 is an insult, while metroid prime remastered, essentially being the best looking switch game ever made for 40€ is a blessing
Going off of “Remakes are preludes to get exited and bring in fans to new games” I love the idea that the dark moon HD would be the prelude to a more serious remaster of Luigi’s mansion 1
The more games Nintendo remasters, the more people become aware of old titles, and the more interest in sequels grows. I see this strategy as an absolute win.
I think only downside is if new games/IP’s get back burner treatment, just like Hollywood and so many industries and companies have gone. Otherwise I want more lol
It’s a really smart idea. Once people’s interest has peaked with the older titles they’ll most likely want to look into the newer ones. It’s a good way to get the newer games to sell more copies.
Man... that Kid Icarus footage you threw in towards the end there made me feel all kinds of things. One of the best games I have ever played. It'll honestly be a crime if it never gets a sequel or at least a remaster
Maybe the shutting down of the Wii U and 3DS eshops signalled a new age for Nintendo to release more legacy content on their current platform. Finally played Metroid Prime and Pikmin each for the very first time this year and fell in love with both of them!
Another good thing about these current wave of remasters/ports, they are cheaper then some others released in the past. Prime Remastered being 40 dollars and both Pikmin games being 30 dollars (50 if you buy a bundle of the two) is amazing because you know if they did this a few years ago, they would all be 60 dollars, but the fact they are being sold for less is amazing.
I think it also depends on how big those games are and how much effort they put into improving them. I still don't see them releasing Zelda games at those cheaper prices and the Pikmin games are probably also cheap because they didn't improve a lot...Prime Remastered however feels almost like a complete remake and still got a good price...but yeah, more remasters for possibly cheaper prices is always good. But if I could chose between paying more for more effort remasters like Prime or cheaper ones that don't improve much like Pikmin, I'd rather have more 40$ remasters...
It's also cheaper for Nintendo. The game code already exists. That's arguably the hard part. Updating the graphics, especially when you have the original graphics to start from, is relatively easy. It's a lot of grunt work but it's not creatively difficult. So Nintendo can afford to sell at a cheaper price which makes the consumers feel good too.
It also gives me hope to see remasters and remakes like Super Mario RPG. I feel forgotten series are getting a chance to finally reach new audiences that could love them
Especially if this ecosystem continues, it’ll be so absolutely incredible. Imagine launching a brand new even more powerful system that has such a huge back catalogue of Nintendo Classics on it. Especially with the NSO apps. If those libraries just keep growing slowly but surely, then by the time we reach the end of the next console generation, they could be treasure troves of old software that is readily available and easy to access.
It also helps that they don't seem to be worried about the classics being available on NSO and remastering them too. In fact, we'll probably see SMRPG get added to the SNES a couple of months after the Remaster comes out. For example, Switch can play both Zelda: Link's Awakening DX and the Switch Remaster. People like to play the old version of games to compare them with new version or will play the original version and then enjoy it enough to get the remaster. So I think the net impact is generally going to be positive. I also like that they opened the door to region locked games and canceled games with Earthbound Beginnings and Star Fox 2.
@@verdantmistral442 not only that, but we’ve gotten a fair few games on the NA NSO that have never been released here before. The three Super Famicom games jump to mind. I can only hope it gets better from here, because it’s a really good start.
I think the reason they’ve been so stingey with legacy content all along is because they knew they had a gold mine to lean on basically whenever they want. Got a new Mario movie? Remaster Luigi’s mansion! New Metroid? Remaster Prime 1! Pikmin 4? Send 1 and 2! This can be done infinitely, and I guess in their minds releasing these any time before that marketing cycle kicks in is inefficient.
I hope that at some point they keep in mind that serious can be restarted and reimagend. Zelda games can be played out of order, most are unique, only a select few belong together and form a mini-series. Pokemon dual releases are one line - but Legend of Arceus is its own thing. Metroid Prime is a series - but so was Metroid NES and Metroid on SNES. 2D Mario starting on the NES is distinct from 3D Mario. "Paper Mario" and "Mario and Luigi" are two different series (no, there is no Cross Over Game. That would be like saying there is a Zelda game on the CDi). I hope that Pikmin 5 will not be called Pikmin 5, but get a unique name.
Same... just wish they put a tiiiiny bit more effort into Pikmin 1+2... I'm still more happy than disappointed, but... I just hate seeing missed opportunities.
Hopefully it’ll show Tanabe that people want the old paper Mario back and don’t really want dumbed down and bland pointless puzzle game paper Mario. Super paper Mario as well would be great. Origami King was alright but the lack of uniquely designed original characters outside the forced arts and crafts characters and the pointless battling system made me quit and then sell it. Found the first part fun but tbh, despite Origami King being stronger than Colour Splash and Sticker Star, I feel I’d much rather enjoy thousand year old door and Super Paper Mario. Yeah, I want Paper Mario to return to its original whimsical roots when being paper was just an art style and it was more focused on story.
Funny story, I had thousand year door as a kid and you know how you could level up your “skills” after getting a certain amount of exp. points? (I forgot how many skills you can level up) well I would only upgrade the same skill every single time and by the end of the game, I couldn’t pass the game because I needed to level up the other skills to beat the last boss. It was horrible I don’t think I ever fully passed the game as a kid. 😅
I've been saying for a while now that it would be amazing if they remastered Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn. A lot of people skipped those games because they were on the Gamecube and Wii, respectively, and it would be a cool way for modern fans of the series to revisit these titles, as well as letting Smash fans see where Ike came from.
When they announced the remake of Super Mario RPG I was kinda shocked, cuz I was so resigned to them never touching that title ever again (because Square owned a lot of the rights to it). That game, along with Paper Mario 64 and Paper Mario and the Thousand Year Door, are my favorite games of all time.
I’m holding out hope for Kid Icarus Uprising since it was SUCH a massive and ambitious game and people took note… But since everyone already wants that too, I’d have to go with Kirby Triple Deluxe and Planet Robobot. Oh and also EverOasis. No other reason, just that I like the game’s setting and gameplay setup and I think it would be neat.
I would love to see them bring those Kirby games as well, but not sure they will do it now that Kirby’s 30th anniversary is over, so if they would’ve brought those, it would have been sooner like around when they brought over Return to Dreamland onto switch. Also wish they ported Epic Yarn to switch instead of porting it to 3ds in 2019, of which unlike Triple Deluxe and Planet Robobot, I’ve never played Epic Yarn. So hopeful they eventually port that, too
A version of Kid Icarus Uprising that can actually be played left-handed would be cool. Then again, seeing as Skyward Sword HD didn't bother to add a left-handed mode, I'm guessing that Nintendo will find a way to make a Kid Icarus Uprising remaster still be borderline-unplayable left-handed.
I wouldn’t have gotten into Pikmin without the remasters. I thought, “hey, two games for $50, sure I’ll give them a try” I immediately fell in love with the series and I’m definitely gonna get Pikmin 4 when it releases
Back in the Wii u days they allowed you to get a free game if you purchase Mario kart 8 within the month it came out and I chose Pikmin 3 that game gave me so much nostalgia for Metroid prime that I would have picked up Pikmin 4 if I didn't have a massive backlog of games to play. It's in my futer log. At one point I just started picking up video games and never playing them because I just wanted to get to them eventually but I was playing through other games.
For a lot of years now, for every new announcement, stage-appearance, and Direct, I've been sitting there half-jokingly, half-desperately thinking to myself "Please, let this be the one. It's gotta be this one. It's gotta finally be time for a sequel to F-Zero GX". I played the ever-living hell out of that game as a kid, and even replaying it as an adult, it's STILL the coolest, biggest, fastest racing game I've ever played. Arlo's points here give me just a little spark of hope that they could actually do it. Even if it wasn't a full-blown sequel, and "just" a Metroid Prime Remastered-treatment of F-Zero GX, I'd be absolutely over the moon for that.
This is so true. At minimum I'd really just love for nintendo to port it to switch and see how it does. GX is already borderline a perfect game, and if nintendo could just give it a shot to see if it could sell well at a reasonable price tag after a port there's nothing I'd want more
@@LuigiXHero No, you're right, it was developed by SEGA, so I take your point. That being said, I really don't see why the whole franchise had to die with GX. And it's not like SEGA doesn't release games on Nintendo platforms, so I wouldn't think it's beyond the pale for them to partner up again for a remaster.
Yeah, this is crazy great. It helps reinforce an IP’s presence, AND respect the hard work that’s gone into their growth! I still ain’t giving up hope on Galaxy 2 though- more people need to experience that game.
I agree, Arlo. Nintendo’s making a really excellent decision with all these remasters. A lot of these comments say the same thing I’m about to, but giving us these legacy titles will introduce and/or coax us back into their IPs and give them popularity again. The more popularity they gain from remasters, the higher the demand for sequels. I’m seriously holding out hope for Kid Icarus to make a comeback, painfully so, so hopefully we get somewhere good with this.
I'm hoping that this will become a bright future for Nintendo game preservation, allowing new people to play these old games on the NES, SNES, N64, GB, GBA, etc online collections on switch or remastering/remaking these beloved games of the past for newer generations to experience.
I became a Pikmin fan because of the legacy bundle. I haven't bought it yet because I like physical, but them releasing it and caring about the series, and how cool they looked made me try three. Now I'm extremely excited for four and one/two, and will definitely be picking them up
Personally the linear approach didn't directly bother me as much as Egadds sudden abductions or how forgettable the mansions were past the first one. I played through the game twice and I couldn't tell you the names of the mansions other than Gloomy manor and I think haunted towers?
@@BlaizeTheDragonthe 3rd one was a Clockwork factory, can’t remember the exact name of it, but then the 4th and 5th were Secret Mine and Treacherous Mansion. Secret Mine was the snowy mountain log cabin mansion while Treacherous Mansion was like a culmination of all the mansion themes combined into one big, final mansion, with different exhibit rooms representing the prior themes and aesthetics
I hope they do the shadow drop thing again for Luigi's mansion 1 closer to the Dark Moon release. I have always wanted to play that series but I refuse to start anywhere but the beginning.
thats the main reason i was hyped. id say its a lock to get shadowdropped when that newer one comes out. I absolutely love that first one, but they lost me with 2 + 3.
I screamed when Prime dropped and jumped out of my seat when Pikmin 1+2 dropped. If we saw Paper Mario TTYD on Switch I think I’d need to be hospitalized.
The only thing I don't like about the shadow dropping is that for people who prefer physical they have to wait quite a few months before they can get their hands on it, but I do think it's important that Nintendo capitalise on the initial excitement straight away. A tough one
I’m actually pretty excited for Dark Moon HD. It’s one of my most nostalgic games personally and the remaster will make revisiting it much more pleasant.
@@WohaoG Ehh it's not too surprising. Dark Moon has a lot of charm and some people really like the linear sections myself included. Have been seeing a lot of people say it's their favorite game which is fair; that's not a take it's an opinion
@@willwunsche6940 I personally haven't played dark moon so I can't say if I like it or not. I have played(a little bit) the 3DS Remake of LM1 and liked it and think the art style complaints people have are overblown
I've seen a bunch of buzz about Pikmin online recently that I've never seen before, even somewhat hitting more mainstream gaming circles. It's very cool, makes me feel like 4 could do VERY well, especially considering there's not really much else coming up soon. It's also a very "summery" game for the most part and suits the vibe. It literally comes out RIGHT once I go on break so it fits the schedule pretty insanely well for summer holiday game.
The Gameboy and Gameboy Advanced emulator they used for NSO is actually top tier and really good which is surprising! Nintendo Europe's RND team really knocked it out of the park, but we need Virtual Console back. Paying for online is a scam and while the subscription is a decent value it sucks we only have the option to rent old games
@@willwunsche6940this has nothing to do with game preservation. It's still relient on Nintendo servers which will likely close in around 2026-7. Game preservation requires physical copies and publicly owned servers
@@TimTacTV Game preservation requires none of that. Maybe for game accessibility, but preservation has absolutely nothing to do with being able to play a game. Any game code that Nintendo has locked up in its headquarters is preserved, even if none of us can access it.
I can’t believe twilight princess and wind waker still aren’t on switch when the next console is very likely going to be launched next year. Especially when they already did HD remasters for them on Wii U. I could see these as a shadow drop now to extend the Switch at the finish line
Tbh the fact they made HD versions on the Wii U is likely why they never made it to the switch. But they hadn’t done a Skyward Sword HD yet, so they did that instead.
@@dpackerman4203 seeing as how the Wii U was by faaaar their worst selling console ever with a tiny install base, there’s no way that’s the reason. Skyward sword being out doesn’t prevent them from releasing those 2. It’s practically already done. They could’ve done one a year if they really wanted to
Totk is still rather new so they don't want people to change focus to wind waker and tp so soon. They're probably gonna wait for it to die down on sales first. Also depends on if we get dlc or not.
Never played Pikmin in my life, and have never cared because I had no way to play them. When they shadow dropped 1+2, it got me interested, so I plan on picking it up to play on a plane flight next week. If I like them, I’ll pick up 3+4 too. And that’s the beauty of remasters.
I imagine they're doing these remasters to pad the last year of the switch, and I'm 100% on board with that. There's so many games I would loe to play again, but I'm very much not gonna bring out my old consoles, if I even have the game anymore. I really hope we get an actual SM64 remake, heck a DK64 remake would be a dream. Even a Chibi Robo remaster would make me so incredibly happy. The possibilities are endless since there's so many amazing games they could remaster or remake.
Good take. It would be smart to have certain teams work on remasters/remakes/ports of games that people have been dying for while bigger teams tackle what's next for their main series like Mario, Legend Of Zelda, etc.
call me crazy but i don’t want nintendo to spend time and resources remaking a game when people who already own it don’t even care enough about it to play it, just port them all to switch on NSO and make new games - maybe let 3rd party developers remake games.
we’ve literally already gotten a SM64 remake, what’s gonna happen next? In 10-15 years we need them to remake it again with even better graphics? The graphics don’t make the game.
@@KobeLoverTatum The problem is that people don't already own these games. Most people don't have a GameCube or N64, and a lot of people have been born after those systems released (myself included). A lot of the titles for those systems are very expensive now, and a lot of them have outdated control schemes too. That's why remasters are so valuable and I and others will buy these games for the first time
I’m pretty sure this is what’s gonna put the switch to year 10 as they planned. Remasters and remakes are crowd pleasing, easy developed, nearly guaranteed successes. It also builds recognition and excitement for future releases. It’s actually a master stroke if you think about it.
Nintendo finally realized that instead of rereleasing the same game with a $60 price tag, they don’t HAVE to rerelease the SAME game with a $60 price tag
Remasters are a great way to extend the life of an aging console. I feel that the next console is still a ways off (maybe another year or two out) and remasters help to fill in the gaps in the game release cycle (since the focus is likely shifting to developing games for the new console) and giving the switch a bit more mileage before its successor is released.
that may likely be why they waited on remasters! they allow for a buffer before the next console's games, especially since we really only have a few completely new first party nintendo games to look forward to rn with mario wonder and that peach game. I could see the next console launching in 2 years with a new animal crossing, 3d mario, or mario kart game as a launch title since those games sold so well
I’m so simple to please that if they did these ports without enhancements I’d be happy but all the work getting put into each one so far has been outstanding. The pikmin bundle was absolutely perfect timing. I was upset I didn’t pick up the Wii ports before the Eshop closure and it’d been bugging me but then they go an do the switch port. Hope to see double dash or the pokepark games come back
I think all Arlo needs is a Remaster of Paper Mario: Thousand Year Door, but I always wondered what he would do if he saw the trailer, and what would he say?
@@peco595 I disagree, it has its own share of obnoxious bits, fun bits, and good characters. That 30 BP limit makes a lot of things generally worthless though and a lot more static.
This was so extremely overdue. Only giving players a single month to get through 1+2 (and possible 3) before 4 releases is insane. I'm still flabbergasted that they didn't just do the full Pikmin 1+2+3 trilogy as a single package back in Spring/Summer 2022.
Not really that insane in Pikmin's case. I just finished all three games in 5 irl days, which is about 35 hours combined playtime. Just the first two was 20 hours. Granted, I know my way around but was a little rusty. Maybe double my playtime for newcomers, and 50 hours in a month for 1+2 alone isn't that insane of an ask.
@@QwixLF That’s 7 hours per day, kid. Not everyone is on summer break, people have full time jobs. 35 hours of gaming is a solid 2-3 weeks for most people. 50 hours for most people is at least 4-5 weeks minimum
Congrats on the ability to house hunt! We just got ours a few years ago and got very lucky litterally months before the market crash and pay about the same as we did on rent. It's a very exciting journey to get something truly yours. Get ready for those first time home blues though. Something always pops up within the first year even when it seems perfect
I can see you took the bare minimum with you on your house hunting trip. Squishy Metroid amiibo are of course 100% vital to any successful relocation process.
Nintendo is basically going on a killing spree with they're old games, but instead of killing them, they are making them even better than before in a way.
They really struck while the iron was still hot. The Mario Movie, the Hollywood park opening, A game for Mario, a game for Luigi, a game for Peach, Oh you thought we were done? WE GOT WARIOWARE, WE GOT SUPER MARIO RPG It's like a PythagoraSwitch machine of so many dominos falling in line perfectly, A couple JABS followed by a HOOK, UPPERCUT, KNOCKOUT
It's kinda wild, I actually didn't realize how up my alley Pikmin was! I really liked the Overlord series growing up, and it's honestly extremely similar! Now I have like 4 new games of something like that to play and I'm excited
What remasters/up-res re-releases* from the Gamecube/3DS/Wii/Wii-U are you hoping for? Let's be honest that's all the Pikmin releases were, I'm not complaining though, I'm having a blast playing them.
I'm not sure why it does considering Pikmin 1&2 weren't even remastered. It is not an exaggeration to say they're just ports with HD HUDs and very specific texture updates. I just wish I knew why they Don't want to port Twilight princess and wind waker HD...
Honestly, I'd be okay if the last years of the Nintendo Switch were nothing but remakes and remasters. Give me remakes of Super Metroid, Hey You, Pikachu, Kirby 64, and Chibi-Robo, and remasters of F-ZERO GX, Star Fox Assault, Pokémon Colosseum and XD Gale Of Darkness, and Wind Waker HD and Twilight Princess HD.
Can't wait for Hey! Pikmin to get the remaster treatment. Arlo's reaction would be priceless (and a massive overreaction like the last time). He HAS to play it eventually.
I've been playing it right now. Kinda. I keep ignoring it because it's really dull. Arlo and everyone else really don't have to play it. It's very very skippable.
@@KruelAidManf they do reuse the switch remake engine I hope they improve the controls. Links awakening on gb felt better than switch. Because while it was on a dpad you still smoothly move between the 8 directions instead of being hardcore stuck to them.
When they released 1&2 pikmin 4 was going to be my first Pikmin game, but the they announced it and I immediately bought 1&2 and loved the series my first hour or two playing Pikmin 1 and loved two even more
If we could get remasters of really any of the mario & luigi games, I would seriously be so happy Not only would it allow more people to experience those incredible games, but it would give just the slightest smallest bit of hope for another new game in that series 😭😭
They aren't going to. The vast majority of Zelda fans have only played BotW and TotK. They are not asking for a remake of the Oracle games or Minish cap, they are asking "open world Zelda with X thing." It is making so much dadgum money there is absolutely no reason for Nintendo to remake or port old titles, let alone make new more traditional Zelda games. It will just distract from sales of Totk. We are not going to get something like Wind Waker HD on the switch, in five to six years, we're going to get a BotW esque game sailing on the ocean. It'll simply be replaced. People will forget that wind waker ever existed, and those that do know will have little desire to play it, because it has been harvested for parts.
@@WasatchWind that’s not how that’s going to work. People aren’t going to forget wind waker. Maybe like some Zelda fans that never touched a Zelda game before that want to pretend they know Zelda but like majority of the fandom isn’t going to forget Zelda. This ain’t some virtual boy levels of forgettable where games would legitimately be forgotten. Hell if people can’t forget the cdi games what on earth makes you think they’ll forget wind waker?
@@WasatchWind in between Botw and Totk, Nintendo made a Link’s Awakening remaster and released Skyward Sword HD. It’s not crazy to believe they’ll make other remasters, like the Oracle games or Minish Cap, while they start working on the next mainline game. I’m actually counting on it.
My perfect remake would be a Mario 64 with the original mechanics, but new textures and models (Much like Render96). And then right after you beat Bowser, Kamek shows up and teleports you into a second HUB world with a whole new set of more challenging levels that take advantage of the incredible moveset and mechanics of 64.
It's been great seeing Nintendo embracing HD remasters this year, if the rumours are true then Paper Mario TTYD might be coming to Switch in the future, which would be so cool, and a smart move for testing the waters for a classic PM experience in the future! It's a win-win, curious to see what else they remaster (Kid Icarus Uprising would be pretty cool)
Just this year Kirby RtD, Metroid Prime 4, Advance Wars, Baten Kaitos, Pikmin 1 and 2. I do feel they're leveraging more their old and new content. Since new content seems to be steadily becoming more expensive to produce. I see it a bit like how Capcom has been doing these collections and rereleases along with some new entries and remakes.
A 2015 SOC without any customisation can give we all this kind of games. Imagine what a latest 2022/23 SOC with customisation can do for a Switch 2 ❤. Current Nintendo, Ubisoft, Activision in FTC case already start talking about next gen Switch. It's near guys
on top of promoting upcoming games, stuff like the long rumored F-Zero GX remaster makes me think that it could also be a potentially good way to test the waters and see if people would buy a brand new entry in a more obscure series. Additionally, seemingly all the original, unique toad and enemy designs are present in SMRPG remake, so perhaps Paper Mario TTYD HD isn’t off the table?
With Nintendo proving that 3DS games (and by extension, DS games) can be ported to Switch, this only fuels my pipe dream of a Phantom Hourglass remaster on Switch.
I’m still losing my mind over Super Mario RPG. Nintendo can’t bring my parents back, but dang if their not close with a remaster like that. This game was so neat and dear to me, and the music so good, I use to record the music on cassette tapes to jam to later.
The changes in the Pikmin remasters are indeed quite modest, especially compared to what they did with Metroid Prime. However, laying here in bed playing Pikmin 2 in 720p and widescreen on my Switch, I really just feel that I'm a lucky guy. I love these games SO MUCH, they are so infinitely replayble, and I'm just so happy that I can FINALLY play them again.
So hyped for these remasters, it is why I am now planning to get into Pikmin! I would also like to get into Luigi's Mansion but the old-school Gamecube original and it's more grungy vibe is what most interests me most, so I am really hoping 1 comes to Switch. Would also like to get into Zelda but that one that always caught my eye was Windwaker due to it's cool cell-shaded style, so that's another one I am holding out for.
Super Mario RPG is an almost universal like. That one is not surprising. Remaster Earthbound, and that might be another "where's the fire?" moment, like MP4.
It would be absolutely insane if the next Nintendo console doesn't have backwards compatibility with the Switch after all this. Which is exactly why I don't think it'll happen and once again Nintendo will flirt with irrelevancy
The fact that we’re STILL not in the “oops all spin-offs” stage that typically signals a Nintendo system is on its way out gives me hope that Nintendo’s next system will be backwards compatible with Switch software.
as a new pikmin fan i love that 1 and 2 are finally on switch but i am mad because i have to wait so long to get the physical copy. and im also mad i had to buy a used wii u to play them but this is a good thing overall and i cant wait for pikmin 4 the demo was sooooooo much fun
Love these remasterers. I think the next one is gonna be Luigi’s Mansions, since we’re getting the Dark Moon remaster too. All 3 Luigi’s mansion games on one system!

@@FlowKom yeah. If I wasn’t such a simp for Skyward Sword then I wouldn’t have bought it for $60. It should’ve been $40 like Metroid Prime.
Going off of “Remakes are preludes to get exited and bring in fans to new games” I love the idea that the dark moon HD would be the prelude to a more serious remaster of Luigi’s mansion 1
PLEASE give Luigi's Mansion 1 the Prime Remaster treatment!
Would be weird if a whole series is on one system but each game is a different quality lol.
The more games Nintendo remasters, the more people become aware of old titles, and the more interest in sequels grows. I see this strategy as an absolute win.
Very much agreed.
And the better they're preserved.
This better indirectly lead to Sega making Ristar 2. No I won’t make it.
Man... that Kid Icarus footage you threw in towards the end there made me feel all kinds of things. One of the best games I have ever played. It'll honestly be a crime if it never gets a sequel or at least a remaster
I need that so badly. They need to do this.
@meatbasedvegan4859I'd settle for adequate controls
God, I must have played Kid Icarus for 200 hours on my 3ds.
I feel forgotten series are getting a chance to finally reach new audiences that could love them
like F-zero? we shall hope.
Yeeeeees. Chronotrigger next plzzz
@@turtleanton6539 chrono trigger is a square enix product, but i do agree that it should come back too. Its also on steam btw.

@@turtleanton6539 I'd be so worried they'd mess up a CT remake somehow. Like, I'd be hyped, but also nervous and anxious all the way to early reviews.
Having full sagas on a single console it's huge, I'm loving the Pikmin approach and I hope to see other sagas receive the same treatment in the future
Same... just wish they put a tiiiiny bit more effort into Pikmin 1+2... I'm still more happy than disappointed, but... I just hate seeing missed opportunities.
I would love a remaster of Thousand Year Door
👀👀👀
If I could pick any game for Nintendo to even just PORT to the Switch it would probably be Thousand Year Door
It looks so fun; I’m never played it and would love to
Hopefully it’ll show Tanabe that people want the old paper Mario back and don’t really want dumbed down and bland pointless puzzle game paper Mario.
Especially now that they're kind of cult classics among the FE fandom.
That hope for Kid Icarus Uprising has only increased since the direct
Yesss!! Holy crap, yes please!!!
I think at least there's a LOT of hope for the paper mario titles to get remastered since Intelligent Systems helped with them
I’m holding out hope for Kid Icarus Uprising since it was SUCH a massive and ambitious game and people took note… But since everyone already wants that too, I’d have to go with Kirby Triple Deluxe and Planet Robobot.
I thought, “hey, two games for $50, sure I’ll give them a try”
I immediately fell in love with the series and I’m definitely gonna get Pikmin 4 when it releases
Same here
Don't skip Pikmin 3! It's a gem.
YES YES YES YES YES YES
I started with Pikimin 3 Deluxe, I had WII U but didn't get it then.
GX is already borderline a perfect game, and if nintendo could just give it a shot to see if it could sell well at a reasonable price tag after a port there's nothing I'd want more
the could make an ultimate remaster merging the arcade version with the game cube version.
Wasn't it developed by Sega? Don't think there is really much of a chance for a remaster. Though I am unsure why no sequels were ever made.
Really happy about pikmin 1 and 2, because now I can play it after years of watching that trailer in Luigi’s mansion as a kid.
Remaking a handful of games is nowhere near them making all old games playable

It's very cool, makes me feel like 4 could do VERY well, especially considering there's not really much else coming up soon. It's also a very "summery" game for the most part and suits the vibe. It literally comes out RIGHT once I go on break so it fits the schedule pretty insanely well for summer holiday game.
Hopefully Nintendo is taking game preservation a bit more seriously now!

As horrible as Nintendos practices are, I would 100% buy a Twilight Princess port/remaster

Arlocast was the best, man. Sucks that it’s never coming back… 😢
I’m pretty sure this is what’s gonna put the switch to year 10 as they planned.
@@kingkrelly1315 isn’t link between worlds basically a retelling of a link to the past?
@@WasatchWind in between Botw and Totk, Nintendo made a Link’s Awakening remaster and released Skyward Sword HD. It’s not crazy to believe they’ll make other remasters, like the Oracle games or Minish Cap, while they start working on the next mainline game. I’m actually counting on it.
Bro where is mario rpg in the thumb nail, probably the most anticipated remaster there is.
That would be badass.
Now then, take my money and give me ETERNAL DARKNESS remastered!
Now remake Link's awakening with a saving Marin from being trapped as a seagull forever quest .
Just me, a Golden Sun fan, waiting. Patiently.
Sucks that they are all stuck on early 2010s hardware with blurry 720p graphics...
With Nintendo proving that 3DS games (and by extension, DS games) can be ported to Switch, this only fuels my pipe dream of a Phantom Hourglass remaster on Switch.
Imagine Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks reimagined together as a bundle; that would be really cool.
I’m still losing my mind over Super Mario RPG. Nintendo can’t bring my parents back, but dang if their not close with a remaster like that. This game was so neat and dear to me, and the music so good, I use to record the music on cassette tapes to jam to later.
Thanks for having amazing audio even tho you are on a trip, definitely makes the video way more enjoyable
Sometimes I wonder how Arlo is operating his puppet's both hands and head at the same time.
What puppet?
The og Dark Moon reveal was also out of nowhere too, so I found this pretty funnt
I really hope the next 3DS remaster for switch is Kid Icarus Uprising!
Did you lose or sell your GameCube copies?
So hyped for these remasters, it is why I am now planning to get into Pikmin! I would also like to get into Luigi's Mansion but the old-school Gamecube original and it's more grungy vibe is what most interests me most, so I am really hoping 1 comes to Switch. Would also like to get into Zelda but that one that always caught my eye was Windwaker due to it's cool cell-shaded style, so that's another one I am holding out for.
Super Mario RPG is an almost universal like. That one is not surprising. Remaster Earthbound, and that might be another "where's the fire?" moment, like MP4.
I can't believe arlo is close to 700k subscribers... I remember when he had 200k!!
You know you like a series when your worried about how newcomers are introduced to it. Arlo is the king of this
It would be absolutely insane if the next Nintendo console doesn't have backwards compatibility with the Switch after all this. Which is exactly why I don't think it'll happen and once again Nintendo will flirt with irrelevancy
I need to live long enough to see a re-imagining of Golden Sun 1&2
Some of my favorite memories on a handheld growing up as a kid
That would be awesome!
