    Pretending I don't know what I'm doing at work with people that don't like me. Pisses them off two-fold

      Search Joan Collins on the court stand trolling her questioner 😂. It's from around 1990 or so.

    not a psychological trick but it’s kinda fun to see people’s reactions. if you’re having a conversation and you just stop talking. like you can look at them but don’t nod, or say mhm or anything. it’s like the ‘still face’ experiment they’ve done on babies, but adults get just as uncomfortable. they have no idea what to do bc you’re obviously following along and looking at them but not giving any social cues. it’s also a way to tell how self centered a person is, if they don’t even notice what you’re doing and just keep talking to themselves basically

    When someone walks in the room you say "How high are you today." They will look at you confused and say "what." Then you say "Hi, how are you today"
    Another trick is when someone's writing down a number, tell them they need to use the lowercase 6 instead of uppercase 6

    4:59 my mum has been working in the daycare field for 20+ years and told me that if one of her kids fall, and it's clear they didn't hurt themselves and are just looking for reactions from her or her co-teacher, she will start to clap and cheer "yay" and the child 9/10 don't cry and move on with their day. Now if the child starts to instantly cry, she will check it out first and go through with the normal procedure set in place at her daycare for incidents.

    I watched a video somewhere and when you do rock paper scissors after you say scissors quickly say what color is your shirt and they'll usually throw scissors so you can kinda always win

      @fridge3489 I was just adding another psychological trick I heard like how you do rock paper scissors shoot if on paper you ask what color shirt it's likely they'll throw scissors probably cause you interrupt them and they just finish their thought

    I use the "kill them with kindness" trick, but it's usually to piss someone off who pissed me off. "Hey! How's it going?! How you doing?! Isn't it a great day!?" Accidentally made a lot of friends with people who pissed me off.

    When my kids are having a hissy fit about something I encourage them to cry louder and harder. I tell them if they do it right it will magically solve everything. I have a whole prepared speech about it which I deliver in my serious voice. They naturally perceive that my argument is ludicrous and that they aren't actually getting anything from the behavior. They usually give up and walk away after about 30 seconds.

      I'm definitely a name-forgetter. When I watch a film, I have subs on for the first third, just so I can READ the names as they're spoken, to help cement them into my brain. As for IRL, oof, I come across as antisocial, but I don't mean to. How do teachers in higher ed remember 40 names in a class just by seeing their hands go up?

    9:52 but if you deliberately misunderstand the other’s words and make it into something stupid that they didn’t mean, you stand a chance of the person either thinking you’re too stupid to understand or thinking it’s not worth talking to you about anything that you disagree with

    in my experience, if you want to appear calm in a stressful situation, eat or drink something. it makes everyone think youre calm as hell because youre munching or sipping. i keep a little bag of cheezits and a bottle of soda on hand just for this reason. it also helps to keep you calmer too.

    That "thank you for your patience" instead of "I'm sorry" would be a lot more effective on me if I didn't hear it about 20 times a day at work while on hold with insurance companies. Now whenever I hear it, it just sounds like patronizing BS.

    The flipping a coin one is from a movie

    • @KF-hf4nt
      @KF-hf4nt 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm sure I saw this on Frasier where he can't decide who to date and Niles tells him to flip a coin. He scoffs but plays along. When Frasier flips the coin and covers it with his hand Niles asks 'quick, what side do you hope it landed on?' and Frasier admits he wanted it to land on a specific side so he chose that lady. Then Martin praises him for the idea before Niles smugly flips the coin again but it hits him in the eye and he stumbles over

    The story at 4:22 sorta messed me up. Because not everyone cares that you’re hurting. Most of the times it’s usually “sucks to suck. *insert conversation changer to- “go get help” instead of “ I’m sorry that happened” (from the toxic ones) ... how do they not care that THEY have made someone feel as bad as they had felt, or worse.... ???? Or purely forget?
    The amount of selfishness humans have these days, is shameful and embarrassing to be categorised as the same species
