Hahaha as someone who once awkwardly high fived a girl goodbye, i feel for this. I still remember it every so often and cringe.
A tip is to give someone sincere compliments and to actually listen to them when they are telling you something, people like it when someone is genuinely interested in what they have to say
There was this time when I was in year 7 when me and this girl had been talking for hours over text and irl every day, we laughed at each other's jokes and made eye contact even though we're both really socially awkward. We would both ask the other person loads of follow-up questions. Basically, there were all the signs, and it almost seemed like we were unofficially dating. Now, I was just a stupid year 7, remember. So I was considering asking her out, when literally the day before I was gonna make my move and ask her out, I found out she had a partner. Puberty sucks.

Not that I'd know, being a (probably) aroace female who has mostly guy friends. I typically have a fairly friendly demeanour, so I'll smile and try to find moments of touch. I'm afraid to make people awkward though, by making them have the wrong idea.
I've had this one friend who my spider sense told me is into me. He seems to look at me and (try to) hang out with me a lot, which we do sometimes, eventhough we're in different academic years. When we knew eachother for a few months or so he even asked me if I wanted to come over tomorrow, which I couldn't because of some extracurricular activity, which he felt really embarrassed about. I figured (well, only now really) that he must've had collective embarrassment about basically asking me out.
And then there's this guy who asked me to go to dinner with him. I missed what I think was an intense hint (I even remember him being quite nervous and stumbling when asking this question).
Again, I'm just stating this so people know I am 100% oblivious and unsure of romantic hints and really shouldn't be taking my opinion as fact. I'm still friends with friend A and B, and I still have yet to get any conformation, so if you're a flirting expert feel free to judge (and maybe ask some questions for more details of the situation)

About the eye contact thing, I will say, as someone on the spectrum, that doesn't always mean anything. I physically cannot make prolonged eye contact with anyone no matter how I feel about them. So I was flirting with someone that's definitely not a thing I would be doing.

There was a time where I was drinking at a motel with people from around thhe world (we all came down to perform at thhis festival) amd thhis girl came up to me telling me to come up to her room,she was reallyy attractive all the guys were eyeing her. I am getting so sick and tired of people assuming I am flirting with them, just because I happen to be nice to them or interested in what they say. Just sad to think that the world in general is about treating each other with cold or annoyed indifference, so when you get an ounce of 'normal, decent, human interaction' it is perceived as special or even flirtatious.
Yes, of course I am interested in what you have to say and how you feel, but that does not mean I want to take you home!

@@SamBrickell it's called "commenting" not "whining". I am not blaming anyone or asking for sympathy, just describing something that happens. There are a lot of lonely, desperate people out there that misinterpret signals, I am not blaming them (I understand where it comes from) even if it is very annoying.
What's sad, is that not one woman has ever engaged in anything with me. Women never even acknowledge my existence.
As a woman who have had multiple crushes on dudes that knew for a fact that they were single , i didn't made a move cause society told me it was the man job to make the first move... assuming you are a guy so maybe that's the case with you too

@@NotUnique_ Yup, society says the man should always make the first move, but that is far harder to do if you are a guy, chances are, you'll be shot down, or get a very negative reaction, like oh god no!. If a girl wants to ask a dude out, just do it, the chances of a woman getting rejected by a guy are far lower than a guy getting rejected by a woman.
@@KrunchyTheClown78 i totally agree.. men have it hard and we live in a time where guys are expected to do everything, picking up females and making the first move and paying for the dates and providing etc etc.
With that being said and regardless of the gender i feel like making the first move and getting rejected is better than doing nothing and waiting for the other person to do all of that.. when I decided to do something about it and got rejected twice i felt shitty and unworthy of love yet somehow relieved because I did it and the rejection played a huge part in figuring out what i really want in my SO
And now i kinda feel like yeah it's painful but it's not e entirely my fault you know what I mean?
