    I built a cheap custom MAME table using an old, unused pressboard TV cabinet and cheap EG Starts parts. The joystick - which looked just like your #5 here - was TERRIBLE. I replaced it with a Baolian (your #2) and found it to be quite good. The EG Starts buttons, by the way, are cheap, too, but I actually like their light resistance. And the grandkids love the bright LED colors which enhance the fun of the custom cab. Note that I don't play fighters, but rather the "golden age" classics I played in jr high and high school (class of '84) back when they were new, like Defender, Asteroids, Berzerk, Frogger, Sinistar, Xevious, Donkey Kong and Tempest, to name a few. Thanks for the informative review.

    Ball tops are ok for beat em ups, but fighting games need a bat

    Making a 20 dollar stick box with a zero delay encoder for my PC. Will give the baolong a try as I'm not looking to drop more for a JLF than i'm willing to pay for the stick's inner components themselves. If the only negative is loud microswitches than I'm more than ok with that. Thanks for the vid.

    Zippy comes closest in my personal experience - looks like a Seimitsu LS-32, feels like an LS-40, so it's a weird hybrid. First thing to do when getting a Zippy joystick is to replace the microswitches that come with it - they're nice and soft but don't last long. I recommend Cherry D44Y switches (D44X are leverless similar to those on a Sanwa JLF, while the D44Y use lever-like arms, which is what this joystick and its parent stick uses). It'll be stiffer, but they'll last a damn sight longer.

    I got a zippy and actually find very accurate. My bao long has the bounce back issue.
    Maybe you had accuracy problems with the zippy because you used one with a much longer shaft. I wonder how different could have hour experience been with a regular balltop version of the zippy!

      Yeah definitely could have done with a shorter shaft. I've since increased my
      Collection... Lots of Seimitsu around here :-)

    Nice reviews. Oh, BTW, Baolong effectively translates as "Rich Boy". Well, as best as possible I guess... Good comparisons. I ordered and tried Zippy branded joysticks myself, but was not impressed. Thanks for posting.

    All you wiggle sticks with the high pitched clicks better run, better run...

      @TeamPandory  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The little wigglessticks need to become standard. Noone needs a long shaft.

    • @TeamPandory
      @TeamPandory  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The cheapest one, no- it's taller ... Re; shaft length- Check out Bao Liang, and ask the seller to properly check before you order.
