Some great variants here. The Pandora's Box 6 and its many clones are still hard to beat for bang for buck as there was a great jump in emulation quality, with PSX addition, and the important indexing feature which was added then oddly removed from later models!

I have a few questions regarding the 3D pandora Saga:
You mention that the 3D Pandora saga has all the data on the microSD and is limited to 64GB? Could you not just upgrade to a bigger microSD?
Does this have the ability to play older games without any screen tearing? As well as can scores be saved at all on those older games say like pac-man even after the system has been shut down?
Is there a way to add coin operation to arcade versions of games?
Sorry for the late reply. The Saga3D is using linux partitions, so it's limited to 64gb unless you can expand the partition somehow. The Saga3D doesn't have any screen tearing, and the only way to save scores is to use the SAVE STATE feature.
Coin operation may be possible, but these machines are not made to be used exactly like the real arcade. They work best as an emulation box that is on timed play when you use a coin.

do the controls have the same accuracy from one box to the next? and is it best to upgrade the buttons and joystick?
It's always best to upgrade buttons / sticks... But sometimes you can get lucky and have a decent set on the get-go. I was extremely lucky with my set of baolian buttons / sticks- but sanwa / seimitsu are a level above.
If you're meaning accuracy as in controller latency, then that is dependant on the box itself. This is why we have mentioned latency in this top ten list also.

You mean follow Dajoho's guide on PG3D-Hax.uk? Yeah... But you need to remember that you're the one responsible if you mess anything up.
Sorry if this question has been asked before, but what is the best Jamma edge arcade monitor friendly CGA 15khz Pandora board that I can currently get?
That's also able to run the wonderful Pandory tools too of course. I'm assuming it's the DX - but am hoping the might be another option with slightly more grunt. Thanks.
Pandora board- the DX is the only one that supports pandory.
If you want more grunt I'd suggest going for the arcipi or the RGB2PI, or whatever they're called. Unfortunately pi boards are pretty expensive now though.

Should i go with the treasure 2 or a pandora 3d saga if i dont want to jailbreak it?
Why no Jailbreak? I'd say 3D saga if you like the power of the 3D but, less controller latency- but the Treasure II has... issues with ... heavier things. Also if you don't have a ribbon cable / arcade controls/ buttons- you'll have a bad time. Use only a microsd and you can have emuelec and you wouldn't even need a jailbreak.

I had a 4s+ then a 6 and now a 3D but iam not really happy with the 3D it has lag :/ yeah i know i can jailbreak stuff but my laptop is in bad shape at the moment. I would prefer a plug and play device with cool shmups on it. Soo what would be the best option? (I would mod it into my pandora 3d case from iyo)
@@bonggzilla do you have lag? I have a pandora box 3D WiFi plus (4018 games) and I got lag on my TV but I don’t on a monitor (I’m not sure if the length of the HDMI cable influences on the performance / input lag). I have to investigate further TV configuration and so...
Did you try it on a plain monitor, not a TV? Different cables or cable lengths?

Is there an updated to what would be the #1 since this video was made. I’d like to buy one and am looking for an all in one with the 2player board.
There's been no real changes... But the DX has gone up a bit to become one of the most desirable options. If you don't need PSP / DC emulation- then the DX is a good one.
Been watching through this, and I'm wondering: there are a lot of promising options, but if I'm mainly looking for a box that plays arcade games smoothly, with minimal/no screen tearing, which one would you recommend?
Either the saga 4188 or Pandora ex 8000. Basically the top set. Dx cx and Pandora x games all have tearing at stock.

@@americawalk1154 We used emuelec with it. The light gun at the time was the wiimote / mayflash bar, but gun4ir will work okay- the steering wheel was the xbox360 steering wheel. We have a separate video for that (search emuelec on treasure ii)

Harnesses are usually universal with the Pandora units. The biggest difference between the 3D and the 3A (Box 4, CX, DX) are the back plates. The holes for HDMI, USB being in a different place. That, and if video is being output on the JAMMA edge or not.
what model of lcd are you using on naomi? seems to fit perfectly

despite the pandora games 3d+ is quite high up the list, metal slug chugs frequently even with pandory flashed on it. Thou, it's a great video still
Yep... That's because it's a Pandora Games 3D+ downgraded to the Pandora Games 3D firmware. The original NeoGeo also slows down, but with the older firmware, we can insert FBA configurations to boost the cpu core... I swear I mentioned it a few times in this video ;-) - You can easily get Metal Slug to speed up in RetroArch too, if you wanted to install that.

Just a question. You say that Pandora Games 3D+ and Pandora 3D saga have the Amlogic S812 board but you also says that 3D Saga is the fastest and the lower in lag!!
More over, the 3D saga has 1080p output and the 3D+ has 720p output, how is it posible? You need a more powerful hardware to play 1080p than to play 720p resolutions!! 😵

Saga output is 720p ... They share the same chip but the software is different, and even though they share the same cpu, the board is laid out differently
So per the video the Pandora Saga 3D can be flashed to a 3D+? Is this separate from using the Pandory tool?
There's an article on pg3d-hax.uk re the crossflash.
We haven't tried the plus firmware on the Saga, but even if it were possible, all of the games installed would be incompatible, and it'd destroy your games list on the microsd. Be careful when you mess with firmwares.

No worries- and yes, there is no screen tearing with this system.

I have a Pandora Box 6, and while it does run games quite well, there's some noticeable screen tearing in certain games, especially in the Marvel vs. Games. Any ideas for boxes with similar specs that have little to no screen tearing?
Most, if not all boxes here will have less tearing than pandoras box 6. Are you running it on a 15khz cga monitor?
@@TeamPandory I was running it on a 27-inch PC monitor. I have a 32 inch Samsung monitor now, but I haven't tried it on that yet.

@@SN-vr1xt Pretty much any if not all of these boxes will be a step up... Only the bottom few have screen tearing, and those at the top really do open up a new level of Pandora experience with psp / dc play (tekken 6 / marvel vs Capcom 2)
Each one will have it's quirks / annoyances, but that's what you get with these cheap boxes.

In reality I will probably only use, old favorites, donkey kong, dig dug, Galaga. All vertical I think? Kinda answering my own question 🙃. But I have never used either one before. @@craigcoffman69 We've reviewed two vertical Pandora boxes- Take a look... The KOA2 / Vertical DX machines will have the forced HD filter off in the next version of our tool, PandoryDX- should be out any day now- we're making the final touches to it right now.

Depends on the box. Usually you'd need to hide them from the list by using their settings screen.

They're similar products. The sellers and factories like to rebrand them all. To shop, or even advise on which to get is extremely difficult.

@@SuperRiddick69 if you need cga 15khz, the only boards that can output that on the jamma edge are the dx, cx, and the x games- which are not capable of running mvc2
@@SuperRiddick69 if you have a VGA or hdmi input , then any of the other boards will be good with your system provided you use a jamma harness.

Yep. DX jumped a few places due to Pandory being released on it. A few of the boxes have ceased to exist and more clone systems have appeared that mostly suck.

I'm currently trying to find a solution for my 15hkz to do this, but as far as I know, easiest box to use for this is the jamma dx or cx.
For the saga you will need to convert the vga signal and feed it directly to your board, as all other boards output in 720 or 1080p, at 60hz or so

@@juaneaab6795 That converter would only allow JAMMA controls to be used with a family machine. You need to convert the VGA signal to 15khz / and also the resolution, too

What screen do you have ? How is it connected ? Hdmi or vga ?

@@EfthimiouE if It's vga, I think many of these boxes are compatible. The one you may have issues with are the true 1080p ones like the key7.
I don't really know for sure as knowing only the size of your monitor and input doesn't tell me what it can display.

For them games you should be fine on the 9H. Just stretched on a 16:9 screen.

That means only one or two controllers worked when plugging them in via USB. These should be mainly used as arcade boxes with bartop arcade style controllers plugged in via the harness. If you want the easiest non-faff solution, currently the DX with PandoryDX installed is the one to go for. - Which is in the top 3, if this list was to be updated ;)

@@gks554 cheap PS3 wireless style (with usb dongle) from AliExpress, the logicool Xbox360 compatible that looks like a PS2 pad, and maybe the Xbox 360 pad for pc.

Ok, sorry for being too persistent, really am, but I just dont get one thing, how come on your compatibility chart it says only Xbox 360 wired controller works on saga? Did you just forget to update it or..? Ps3 with dongle? Are these all on Ali express? Why is everything changing. First Xbox 360 seems fine, then it may not work. Then ps3 will then won't. What is going on?? Again, apologies for the disturbance all the time.
@@gks554 you need to realise that this video was made years ago when only a few Pandora boxes existed. The saga you have may be totally different from the one that's in the video.
Xbox360 console and the xbox360 pc controller are different. I'm sure the pc version works but the console version will probably have issues.
The ps3 style cheap pads (not the official Sony ones) are on AliExpress, and they usually come with the super console X and other systems.
Lastly, these Pandora boxes are best played with arcade sticks and buttons, and the saga is one of the worst when it comes to controller compatibility.

YES, MOST OF THE ONES WE HAVE USED HAVE THIS CAPABILITY, HOWEVER THEY ARE GEARED TO BE USED FOR TIME, RATHER THAN FOR COIN/ CREDITS

Best Pandora box... Without controller lag... There's always going to be a slight bit of delay, but the lowest is probably the DX, followed by the Key7, then the SAGA 4188 or EX2.

@@bonggzilla The saga 4188 is pretty much a pg3d wifi with lower latency. I wouldn't say it is a major step up. Might be worth trying an Android box with emuelec or perhaps a minipc next?
Got a arcade machine and to be honest not really happy with the games, 6000 games but so many versions of the same games, no snes or console games which makes me real unhappy, prbably some cheap knock off, on the menu screen it says OS PANDORA GAMES AUSTAR-L01, Please let me know whats the best replacement? Currently the best one to get is probably the pandora box DX. It is a sure device to work with pandory that can enhance the experience somewhat.
They've nerfed the pandora games 3d so much that it's no longer a decent buy. And the copycat products with similar names doesn't help one bit.

He has dreamcast, nintendo and super nintendo consoles and games like that. Check this link > pg3d-hax.uk/buying-a-pandora/ , If you want him to have no hassle, then go for a Pandora 3D 6 button bartop box with wifi - They're usually the safest bet. Make sure you don't get a 7000 games model. 2650, 4018 or 4118 games is usually a safe bet.

@@gabedel9456 the 3D+ used an FBA variation that adds a LOT of latency, and breaks games- so that Capcom fighter with the beasts, simply doesn't work.

@@gabedel9456 they keep messing around with the firmware / software to increase "security"... The 18s is pretty much the pandora saga 4188 with a skin. But there are even 2 versions of that now too. It's a mess.
Hi, I have a pandora 6s, which however does not satisfy me very much, although I am not very interested in the emulation of newer or 3D games. I would like to change it ... which one do you recommend? (for use on VGA / HDMI monitors). This 6s that I have is in a stick with which I am fine, possibly I could only change the pandora card inside, keeping the same dashboard? I have seen that usually the exits on the back are always the same.

ARRRGHHHH! Lowest latencies are seen on the DX/CX/Key 7/ SAGA 4188/ Pandora SAGA EX / SAGA MINI TV BOX. PG3D+ has noticeable latency, PG3D has less, but may be noticeable by some.

Light me , to use on Arcade Cabinet we need jamma conncetor for Buttons and Joysticks ,wich Pando 3D we need in this case to get the two players wires connexions and all the best 3D games ? not Yet Atomiswave and Dreamcast games ?
The pandora games 3d in light green jamma is your best bet. Hdmi or vga for monitor and no cga
