    @osr garage: the way to go back just cruise control is with the “mode” slider on your left hand side. You just slide it and select whether you want the travel assist, or ACC in VW terms, or just dynamic cruise control.

      @offtheshelfrides  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Interesting, I will try that the next time I'm out.

      @@offtheshelfrides correction! The ‘mode’ slider allows you to switch from dynamic to regular cruise control. The driving assistance button is the one that allows you to turn the wheel assistance on and off… at least when the 3.1 operative system has been installed. Hope you get it soon. Thanks for the content you produce.

    Why would you want to turn the lane assit off? I wish it automatically come on whenever the cruise control is turned on.

    • @offtheshelfrides
      @offtheshelfrides  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don't like the lane centering. I like to drive. I only turn it on if I need to get something, stretch, etc.. so I would like to be ae to turn it on when I need it and back off.

    • @dleasman
      @dleasman 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Turning off is beneficial when you are going into an area with a lot of exist or forks, because the car sometimes wants to take an exist, and you have to fight the wheel to stay on the primary road. It does the best that it can, and when out on open road, it's nice, but when you enter a metropolitan area, it would be beneficial to be able to turn it off without stopping cruise. At least the cruise is adaptive, as with most new cars with radar. I have 5 cars with lane monitoring, and this is a problem for all of them.

    • @offtheshelfrides
      @offtheshelfrides  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@dleasman yes, I would like to shut it off but keep adaptive cruise active. I have had other cars that it shut off and left the cruise on

    OSR, big fan of yours, but I’m fine with the way the lane assist works. I don’t expect the car to drive for me, just nudge me if I get distracted and wander. It does that well.

    • @offtheshelfrides
      @offtheshelfrides  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's not the lane keep assist feature that bothers me, unless I am taking an off ramp and don't use the turn signal and it fights me, it's about not being able to shut off the Lane centering without shutting it all off and the cruise control and people behind thinking your braking

    When the truck in front has turned right, you can likely press accelerator to help the Assist accelerate faster without disengaging Assist, if it is like similar systems I have used

    My TA will sometimes fail to turn on at times emitting an annoying beep. Dealer cant seem to find it. They can't even turn off the annual inspection notification. Pretty useless

    • @offtheshelfrides
      @offtheshelfrides  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yea, my dealer doesn't have a problem resetting the maintenance notification. Not sure about TA. Sounds like a faulty sensor maybe.

  • @claytonhossie1589

    I believe it is controlled by the center screen in settings. If you can't find it check the manual or dealer. That car has a whole lot of stuff going on. I just looked at one thus weekend.

    • @offtheshelfrides
      @offtheshelfrides  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's not. You can turn off the lane keep assist off in the menu, but you can't turn off lane centering after activating it without turning everything off. The new software fixes those issues.

  • @JonnyTQuest
    @JonnyTQuest 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    It was pointed out earlier that this issue was resolved with Software Version 3.1. I have a y22 ID.4 with version 3.1 and easily switch from TA to ACC with the left side steering wheel control button. Also, many, if not all, of your complaints with ID.4 software is resolved with version 3.1. Hope you get the new 12v battary and module upgrade to allow OTA updates soon so you can get the latest software. You will then Love the ID.4 as we do!
