  • This is an intermediate class perfect for those who would like to learn the Classical Mat sequence.
    Susanna has been teaching Pilates over a decade. She initially studied the method in Oxford with Stott Pilates, where she completed their Full Advanced level certification.
    After years of teaching the contemporary Stott Pilates, she ventured into the classical work and got hooked. In her quest to deepen the knowledge of the original work, she travels extensively to learn from the original students of Joseph Pilates and world’s leading classical teachers. She is currently doing the Work under Jay Grimes, 1st generation teacher.

    I love that video, brings me back to my beginning of learning pilates in 2006. Easy to find "pilates" on youtube, hard to find something that feels authentic.

    I've done so many different pilates and yoga workouts and somehow until now haven't heard the 'lift in the stomach' cue. Gratitude! Little things like this can be a game changer!

    Ohh, I wish Susanna would make exact flow for beginner level. It was perfect - flow, duration, exact amount of guidance! Please please make the same flow for beginners

    I really love this, just perfect timing and length to do it at home. Clear instructions and the real stuff classical Pilates, thank you for this! On the other side it is the most Ad interrupted video I've ever come across so I have to pause and re-continue every 3-5 minutes, wonder why, this does not happen on other channels.....thank you all the same, great class!

      Hi Eva. Thanks so much for your feedback. We are happy to hear that you love this video. Susanna Foustok is an amazing instructor! The ads were placed on automatic settings which means TH-cam decides when the ads will be placed. We noticed that on this particular video, ads were placed every 5 min which we understand can be very disruptive to the viewers. It is now adjusted so you should be seeing far fewer ads in the future:)!

    The moves changed too fast and it was not challenging. I wanted to do more reps than 5😕

      You can probably put the video speed on slow

      Speed is appropriate pace for Intermediate level - you may want to stay on beginner until you can maintain control at this speed.

    In what world is this classic pilates? Pilates is turning over in his grave. It is classes like these that turn off many people away from pilates and causes injuries. Smh

      She stuck to the classic tradition level 2 as I know it and have practiced it for over 20 years.
      The side leg series is a variation of what a usually do; however, I am not a Classical Pilates trained individual.

      This is absolutely the classical mat sequence for intermediate level. Good cues and always with control.
