- Up early again for a roadtrip to Blackpool to catch the low tide with the CTX3030 in search of the Bling Bling. Few nice finds made the journey worthwhile. Three disasters happened with headphones, scoop and camera.

Enjoyed that Mal, keep the vids up mate.
nice- your video is my first like....
Thanks for the comment and like. Watch many of your videos with interest. Your on my subs list.
It's 2 degrees, absolutely freezing. Except you just said its 2 degrees. Great video by way :)
Hi Dave, Just bought an Excal 2 and will be doing these areas especially Blyth, Low Hauxley, Cambois etc...
I think the blank bullets are from an army demonstration a few years back. They acted out some manoevers using blanks aplenty during the airshow day.
Thanks for that Bill I wondered how they got there.
great video and finds, there should be heaps of stuff the amount of people that must have got popped up and done cartwheels on that beach over the years ha ha oh that may have just been me..
amazing video thanks yes its deeper than my GT so happy to sell my sov GT can't wait to test the ctx on sunday :)
nice beach :) sorry about your scoop & camera :( great video :) HH!
"The big one" used to be in my home town of Southport, just a little further along the coast.
The CTX is going really deep in the sand
first... great finds mate cheers
nice finds, I will give blackpool a try in the summer i think. I live on anglesey , so there is lots of beaches to keep me bussy.
Great day out there!
I was also sorry to hear about the bad luck, hope you can get the scoop fixed up cheaply!
hi just sub to your site.i live in Blackburn about 15 miles from Blackpool. you did very well like you say a hard beach to detect.in the 40 tis you couldn't get on the beach for people.pity no gold but thats how it goes im off to angelsey as soon as the weather improves see what i can get down there.all the best mal gl hh.enjoyed your videovery much.catch you soon mick
I did a bit at Whitley Bay and Blyth years ago. I'm from Darwen, Lancashire.
nice video and finds Malc, interesting how brass doesn't go turn the colour of the old coins and brass shells, this side of the country they would be green, wonder why that is?
happy hunting
Paul
ok thanks Malc
OMG THAT GUY YOU SEEN WAS MY GRANDAD NO LIE
nice Beach hunt with the CTX it's not that cold where I'm from Rob from Anaheim ca, 7 miles from Disneyland
CD ? OMG... i need this :P
I'm just starting metal detecting and one of my first finds was a 1942 3 pence. In my back yard in Virginia. Haven't a clue how it got there. enjoy your videos.
Hi David, that's why I love this hobby with the great mysteries that it brings. Might have been a GI that brought it back as a souvenir of their visit to UK.
Thanks for watching just finishing another for posting.
great video, cool finds
how do you like your ctx 3030
im thinking about upgrading to a minelab and the ctx seems
like it would be a great all around detector
loved the video
good luck and happy hunting

In answer I just sort out what can be recycled and place in recycling bin rest put in general waste.
That's good news Mal cant go wrong with an all weather camera.
+Stephen Tebbutt Thanks for watching and commenting.
The FT5 has been for many a swim and takes great underwater shots and video as well.
HH Mal
Hey man. Nice video. Random question but have you ever hit Tynemouth or Whitley Bay beach areas?
Maybe you want to have a look at the beach scoop "Berlin" made and sold by detectorist.eu on the net. Just got one myself for 99 €. happy hunting!
sorry, mean't don't understand why the coins and brass don't turn green like this side of the country
i like finding coins when they are embedded into another mass of something.
ok, let me ask how far is blackpool - it looks like a nice spot, do u ever hunt down by that roller ride ?
good luck on the bling bling - vibes crossing
see ya 3030 man
Dear Mal im an avid watcher of your vids which i find a great help and metal detectorist myself could you help me where can i get the beach scoop that you use for the beaches as im due to go on a beach in the next few weeks
Hi there. What does the hard pack consist of what you found the 2 p in ? Great vid !
The hard pack is the layer below the brown sand where items have formed a concrete type layer. Mostly crushed shell, stones, black sand and finds have been pressurised by the weight of the sand above over many years.
All heavy finds sink to this layer and no further with as in the video can result in being bound into the matter. It a reaction between the various items and sometimes called "concretion" which forms around metals.
Thank you for answering. I ask because I found a very same object but on a beach and to my surprise protruding from one side was an old Pit Token. Never bieng able to understand how it came to be like that. Thanks for the Knowledge. ;)
Good day Mal Happy new year to you. Do you do any filming in the water?
+Stephen Tebbutt Thanks for watching and commenting Stephen.
Yes I do film in the water but normally when its warmer and I get into the surf or this year rivers going to get my attention on new permission. Some footage from Bournemouth and Corfe has a bit of water hunting. Great little camera panasonic FT5 I use is fully waterproof and stands up too everything I put it through.
HH Mal
Something to help you dig more efficiently on sand.
Sand Scoop with ROBOHANDLE®
thats my cd of the peir omg lol imk not even joking lol
You had a bad trot at black pool, did your camera work after it went for a swim. did you get it fixed.
+Stephen Tebbutt Thanks for commenting and watching.
yep camera lasted about another two outings then the helix seized up with the grains of sand. Total writeoff. Now use a Panasonic FT5 and nothing can harm it. Waterproof, drop proof and sand proof.
HH Mal
Tried joining MLO and it keeps saying that I have to complete image verification- there’s no image to be seen anywhere on the registration page or the contact us page.
Hi Tony see if you can see the Im not a robot box and just place a tick in it then it should take you to the verification page.
You can contact me through messenger Malcolm Potter Minelab Mal or email Malcolm.potter@sky.com.
HH. Mal
i know this is weird but ar you scottish or northern english
Scottish from Edinburgh
i always leave 1pences and 2 pences in the sand / ground not worth the effort digging.
don't you need a license to use the metal detector in public places ???....
See comment below. Only need a permit on Crown Estate foreshore and it's free.
Awesome !! For a beginner...which the best detector on ratio value/manageability ??
Hi Joao,
Firstly you need to set a few parameters on where you will be hunting, beach, land or both and importantly what is your budget. Then we can look at the detectors that will be suitable. Remember that inland you will need permission from the land owner to hunt their land. Send a PM so we can discuss further in detail.
hi, mal !! I'll try in the beginning to do my search in the beach, as in yarmouth, cromer, seapol and so on !!...my budget isn't much and as a started i don't want to spend much !! i am looking for a cost/efficiency detector !!...one that do the job and that will pay itself and an upgrade, as i keep going, if you got some info on this specs i'll be very ablidge !! cheers !!
i know this is weird but ar you scottish or northern english
Or Irish? I'm so confused :/
