Undervolt your RTX 3080 Ti for more FPS and Lower Temperature! - Tutorial

  • Undervolting really seems to be the best option in terms of GPU optimization for the RTX 3000 series. Be it a 3090 Ti, 3080, 3070 Ti or even a 3060 Ti, I’d still recommend doing it. If you do it properly, you’re gonna lose virtually 0 performance or even get an increase, while dramatically reducing heat and power consumption. Today we are featuring a RTX 3090 PNY XLR8 triple fan and using an 850W 80 Plus Platinum Corsair PSU!
The tutorial also works for the RTX 3090 Ti

This was without a doubt the best tutorial for this process on youtube. Way too many other channels try to pad their videos with A LOT of useless information that does nothing to educate you on the process and the reasoning behind each step. Your conciseness and ability to present a lot of information in an easily digestible way is a talent to be commended. I was able to achieve a stable undervolt; my performance is the same or better, and my temps dropped 10c. I haven't had a single stability issue. Stable Diffusion renders are also faster too.

Legendary dude, thank you. I've heard loads about undervolting but never tried it before- I only ever tried putting core clock up in afterburner and never got better performance (because it was hitting thermal throttle) - after about 2 hours playing around with this I've settled my 3080 Ti on 1845MHz @ 806mV running stable in Kombustor, with the benchmark up from 5507 stock to 5817, huge performance gain AND it's running like 8-10 degrees cooler with the boosted performance! That's insane!

INSTANT subscribe after watching this and applying this method. And I would like to add that I don’t subscribe to just anybody, the content has to be AMAZING and I must say you are no exception to that rule. Every other video I’ve watched has said NOTHING about the minus 300 and THEN choosing a voltage. Everyone just says to run a game or benchmark and see what your average clock is and at wheat voltage, then try applying that clock speed at 50mv less, then 25 until you crash, then add back 10mv. Every single time I had tried that I could not get stable clocks nor correct voltages either! I applied your -300 THEN applying the 850mv and WOW. So far results are insane. Still testing but current I have my EVGA Rtx 3080 to FTW3 Ultra down to 1860 at the 850mv you suggested and I’m still going higher at the same voltage while dropping 10-20 degrees AND achieving more performance! You are a literal god and will update when final results are achieved! Thank you so much I cannot express my gratitude enough! Keep up the good work :)
Edit: after messing around with this for around an hour or so I was able to go to 1890 at 850mv!!!! Absolutely incredible. Still testing to see how high I can go in memory

I'm a bit confused with my results. I have a 3080ti Founders Edition.
I tried the 850mV +165mhz in curve editor to get to 1830mhz, and while the benchmarks report mV at 850, I'm still pulling 350 watts. The only way I've reduced wattage is adjusting the power limit down, but if I take the power limit down to 90% I lose a decent chunk of performance.
Do you know what I'm doing wrong, or is it just my card?

I would like to unvervolt my 3090 because I need it to match the power of my intel i7 7700k. So basically I want to reduce the overall performance power of the 3090, but my pc keeps freezing, cus I only use PowerLimit. I'd really appreciate your response. (Edit: I discovered if I put my hand on the top fans, it felt hot, but I was monitoring the temps and GPU was below 70 and cpu above 70 for a bit. After that I reduced Power Limit to 65%, core clock -450 mHz and memory clock -250 mHz and its running fine with some stutters. But I feel my settings are kinda sloppy since I don't have much experience doing this, should I underclock my 7700k too? im confused). Thanks in advance.

Set it to 750mV and 1700Mhz with no memory offset, PL at 100% still. I’d also recommend doing something a bit different from what I recommend to most people, being reduce the memory clock by 500-1000Mhz. This is because Zotacs have an issue with memory cooling.
