I watched the whole thing and not a second wasted this is one of the best jam packed informative video productions I have seen on TH-cam. You got a like from me and I'm sharing with friends.
i was really confused at 8:13 ... if you move the whole curve down it actually applies higher voltage. So it wouldnt be "too undervolted", its rather high voltage at low frequencies. Somehow the voltage is on the x-axis and the frequency on the y-axis, which i find very confusing. In the second step the "vertical" line then does the actual undervolting. With these axis you need a steep curve to undervolt, not a flat one and not a curve close to the x-axis
I think that laptops are “locked” meaning you can’t tweak voltage and fan speed or curves, but you can tweak clocks (inside the power limits of course). My laptop is doin that too
@@agamemnonblanas8941 Oh great so they literally only thought about PCs and didnt care about laptops because you can easily overclock laptops too but ofc theire weaklings and dont want to "risk" anything
laptops have their own unique blend of power management (usually letting GPU "steal" power from CPU and vice versa), and the cooling has to handle both CPU and GPU, as well as battery heat. Just adjust the settings with your laptop's oem app.
i dont understand why hes pulling down the curve anyway? On this graph that means everytime the card wants to run a certain clockspeed it will need a HIGHER voltage now?? shouldnt you move the curve upwards and then just cap the highest frequency?
Hi, MSI Gaming. Why is my Curve Editor (AfterBurner) for my AMD Radeon RX 6700XT different from yours? 3:04 Mine has 2 separate graphs, Frequency above Voltage, with the X-axis showing only 2 values, the R side is P-State 1, the L side P-State 0. Had to go to my Program Files (x64), then find the MSI AB exe and click on it's properties. Most programs have the version number of the software within the application's window under "information"!

Results are unstable, rtx3080 brand new. What might be some things that causing it? It says limiting factor: voltage like yours but instead of succeeded, it says OC unstable however it still selects a curve en settings and stuff
how the hell do you get the voltage monitoring and voltage slider to work w/ a 4070 super?? I've had 3 Zotac Amp Extremes over the last 8 years with this same PC and i've always been able to monitor voltage and use the voltage slider (although it was just a % slider and I couldn't put in exact numbers), but I just bought an ACTUAL msi card (4070 super gaming x slim) and I have a greyed-out voltage slider and no monitoring, despite trying all checkboxes (over and over again...), drop-down menu options, and re-installing the application (and trying different skins..). Nothing works. Is there a way to do this with a 4070 super without doing anything crazy like changing BIOS's or dismantling the card itself?
I had same issue!! Under the greyed out "Clock" section - click the up arrow! Your GPU should be the second option. Idk what that first option is - but my hunch is - if you have an x3d CPU, it has its own mini GPU. Im assuming thats what MSI is finding and wont allow you to change settings on. since it wouldnt have its own fan etc...
@@Blkswan911 I actually figured it out yesterday. Someone pointed out that there was a new version of Afterburner. I googled it and, sure enough, a new beta had been released 2 days ago. So i dont get it, whats the point to overcloking if there is no game improvement. Any suggestions. I have an rtx 4070 ti and the must im getting is 110-120 fps 💀.
That is not undervolting. Flattening the curve up/down at a certain point means you are limiting the frequencies and thus limiting the voltage accordingly but that is NOT what is behind the true purpose of undervolting. Limiting the frequencies and voltage is trivial. Because it's the same as a simple power limiter. They could put a power percentage limiter option and that would do the exact same thing. The true purpose of undervolting is maintaining the same frequencies AND lowering the voltage to the point you get the best benefits while the system remains stable. The only true undervolt in that graph would be possible if you could move the points to the left. Telling the GPU: "keep increasing the frequency as usual.. but don't feed more power than...x"
I agree with you, every time that I see this tutorials where they flatten the line doesn’t makes sense, maybe I am just stupid :u Btw would be crazy if this guide is wrong because this is the official channel for msi afterburner
