    Hey man, thanks for your videos. You have helped me so much. I really appreciate what you do. Anyway, I have one big favor to ask. Maybe you have a video on this, so if you do, just send me a link. I was hoping you could make a video setting up a TX16S to use with True Flight Evolution. I mean setting mixes and all channels needed to control the Sim. Setting flaps, landing gear, dual rates, and reset button. And whatever else possible. I think it would be helpful to a lot of people. I've looked all over TH-cam, and I can't find anyone who has done it. Thanks in advance. Keep up the great work.

      Thanks for your comment, love hearing someone was helped by my videos. I've not heard of "True Flight Evolution". Do you mean Real Flight Evolution?

    • @jacecruz

      @shanesdiy lol yes, Real Flight Evolution. I keep calling it the wrong name.

    • @shanesdiy
      @shanesdiy  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Could be a good video. Basically you can consider Real Flight as the receiver and it reads the transmitter outputs for control surfaces however they are sent. Because of this any mixes, dual rates, and expo you create in the transmitter model will be used for the plane. No need to try and create mixes, rates, and expo in the simulator. Changes to the safe mode gyro settings are a little trickier.

      @jacecruz 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @shanesdiy I got as far as to set the modes to a switch and the reset to the engine cutoff switch, but I can find the correct channel for the landing gear. I guess that's all I need at this point. Everything else works.

    • @shanesdiy
      @shanesdiy  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Within the description of each airplane, they often will say what channel is used for gear, flaps, etc. Once you find a plane with that in the description, I believe all the planes with retracts will use the same gear channel. You just need to map the desired gear channel in your TX to a switch in the mixer. Then go into the controller setup in real flight and assign the switch there.

    Valla...

      In English...
      The WS2000 just allows your PC to see the transmitter as a PC game controller. It should work fine with RealFlight 7 as long as your PC recognizes your transmitter as a controller.

      Otra pregunta jaja.
      Utilizas receptores ELRS/PWM 2.4 GHz para los aviones o solo estás utilizando el módulo multiprotocolo 4 in 1 con otras marcas de receptores?

    • @shanesdiy

      Solo uso el 4in1 actualmente. No he probado ELRS. Tengo receptores Spektrum y acabo de recibir dos receptores Radiomaster R88 V2 que voy a comenzar a probar con el uso del protocolo FrSky D8 o D16.

    Thanks for this video Shane. I've been using my TX16s with USB and RF EVO for several months as I learn to 'fly'. This video convinced me to give the WS2000 a try. Just received it today and the setup was petty quick on my TX16s. I've got the control surfaces working. I figured out the modes by modifying the airplane setup in RF for the few planes is train on. I'm pretty happy with it so far. I think I have dual rates working but am having a hard time getting my head around using channel 5 for dual rates. I use EdgeTX and ELRS for my flying models and dual rates are setup in the INPUTS tab so it's much different from RF. I've found some posts in the RF forum on dual rates but they always refer to the spektrum radios when describing the setups. Do you have any pointers for us TX16s users?

    • @shanesdiy
      @shanesdiy  ปีที่แล้ว

      You can do it in RF but I prefer to do it on the TX just like a real plane. The TX sends proportional signals to the PC just like it would a receiver so any dual/triple rates, expo, etc you setup in the TX will be functional on the sim. Don't link your rate switch to output channel 5, just keep internal to the TX and build it in the Inputs tab like normal. I often use the sim to experiment with new ideas for rates, logical switch and special functions code I want to test.

    • @shanesdiy
      @shanesdiy  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The WS2000 is Spektrum DSMX protocol, you need a 4in1 module to bind to it. The Pocket transmitter isn't offered with an internal 4in1 so your only option is to add an external 4in1 module if you want to bind with protocols other than ELRS.

    • @shanesdiy
      @shanesdiy  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Absolutely, I've used my TX16S and my Zorro with a USB cable in Joystick mode many times. Since I got the wireless dongle, I just prefer to use that to limit wear and tear on my radio USB ports. Just use the top USB port and the screen should pop up asking if you want to use Joystick mode, storage mode, or serial mode. Just select Joystick and click the scroll wheel or tap the screen button.

    Thanks a lot. Could you explain how to set up on the radiomaster a 3 way button, for realflight for example SE to select the 3 flight modes?

    • @shanesdiy
      @shanesdiy  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      In the radio you just need to setup channel 8 with SE as the source in the mixer. In RealFlight you assign the switch the same way I did with the DX6i but with the 3 way switch you'll get -100, 0, +100 instead of just -100 & +100.
      Note that not all RealFlight airplanes have all 3 modes. The AeroScout, for example, has safe, intermediate, and AS3X but if you switch to Draco it only has Safe, AS3X, AS3X so two of the switch positions will just be AS3X.

    i wish you showed how to do it on TX16s, do I need to create a model on TX16s and anyhting other than that after i bind it to transmitter?

    • @shanesdiy
      @shanesdiy  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, you must create a model on the TX16S just as you would for any model as I mentioned at the beginning of the video. I just made one called "Sim". You must program all sticks and switches you plan to use in the sim so the PC will recognize them. The controller setup process on RealFlight is the same for any transmitter so what I showed in the video with the DX6i applies to the TX16S as well.
      Let me know if you have any questions.

  • @jaceksoltys

    any special setup for Dx6i is required? I have successful bind but input detection for new profile doesn't work :(

    • @shanesdiy
      @shanesdiy  ปีที่แล้ว

      Maybe windows isn't seeing the dongle and properly assigning the drivers? If you type "game controller" in the windows search bar, typically in the lower left, you should see "Set up USB game controllers" appear. Click that and when I have my dongle in the PC "SPEKTRUM RECEIVER" appears in the list. Do you have that? If yes, then setting up the transmitter in Real Flight should work.

    • @jaceksoltys
      @jaceksoltys ปีที่แล้ว

      @@shanesdiyt that's the thing that it is recognized by computer as game controller with status OK, binding seems to be OK (led stoped blink) but I did test from properties and it's not working, any idea why. I would like to think it's configuration issue, not faulty dongle

    • @shanesdiy
      @shanesdiy  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jaceksoltys I just tested mine and in windows for Game Controllers, if I click on the "SPEKTRUM RECEIVER" and click properties, a "SPEKTRUM RECEIVER properties" window pops up. When I move the sticks and switches that are programmed into my "RC Sim" model I do see them move on the test window. At the top there is a "settings" tab where you can calibrate. Perhaps try that?
      Did you create a model and setup the control surfaces on the transmitter? I guess you had to if you were able to bind...
      On your dongle, is the LED on steady after you bind the DX6i? Should be on, not flashing.

    I have an DXe transmitter, it has an Aux (2 pos) switch but RFE doesn't recognize it. I have used other RCs software and it works. Anyone have this issue with your transmitters (either brands/models)?

    • @shanesdiy
      @shanesdiy  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The transmitter switch must be assigned to a channel in the transmitter model setup at the radio level. To really tweak the DXe you need a bluetooth dongle and the mobile app. I think there is a way to adjust the preset model without the app and you need to select one that uses that switch/channel such as one with flaps.
      Once that switch is assigned to a channel, in the controller setup in RFE you can define what the channel/switch does.

    • @shanesdiy

      Happy to help sort it out. There are many reasons you may not be able to bind and most of them aren't because the radio is crap. Can you be more specific? What radio are you using and if it is a Radiomaster TX16S like I'm using do you have the 4in1 version and do you have it set to the correct DSM protocol?
