    I’ve had Thai-Chinese landlords that I rented my condos from in Pattaya. I never received my full deposit back despite I left the place perfectly on order and clean. ( They’ll make up an excuse to keep the deposit). Good to rent from a reasonable Westerner.)

    I've not seen Brian Jacks since about April 2010 when he passed me on Pattaya Klang near Beach Rd. I know he used to frequent Canterbury Tales, as I've spent many months there over several years. It was perhaps my 1st go-to for accommodation providing they had a room available for the next month or so. Ive actually stayed there since Thomas the Danish guy's taken over. Jes a very good fella too.

    I remember Brian Jacks always dominating BBC Superstars. If he puts the same effort into his apartments, they will be good. Looking at the map, you would need transport to get there and get about, but I am glad I know about these units now.

    Hey Heath, I really liked your first vid on the View Debut this one is even better. I'm in the middle of the USA and after seeing your first and then having the answer from you about market prices I was betting busy with the things that are necessary for international travel. Then I heard that the Thai Gov. was instituting new tourist regulations, then easing a bit, then another change, etc.etc. I am unjabbed and intend to stay that way, so when I see the various rules on and off and up and down, then I notice all of the masks on folk, in the clips around Pattaya and BKK, I realize that I would probably get crosswise with the authorities. But keep up the great work of showing the side of Pattaya that isn't a bar. Your eye for what is of real interest is fantastic. Thank you.

    • @oneendofthailand
      @oneendofthailand  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the kind comment. Yes, the U-turn regarding jab requirements did cause some confusion. However, keep in mind that many Thais (especially in BKK) wore masks before Covid, so I imagine they will continue to do so. At this time (12/01/23) you do not need to show proof of being vaccinated to enter the kingdom. Thanks again. 👍

    I remember watching him do that record, think he might of done one for squat thrusts, but that could of just been on superstars, i was around seven or eight. Such a humble person for someone who was such a big star. The hydraulic superstar bull worker is still going strong , i still use it for warm ups now and again along with my Joe Weider weights I got in my early teens and have the mounting bracket as part of a pully rig i made out of an old bench to hold the weights on. I've got a shoulder impingement I've been sorting out since October but will be back at in another six weeks or so. Hi Heath, have you ever thought of renting a small 2 bedroom house? I’ve been living in Jomtien now for nearly 3 years and me and my Thai girlfriend have just started searching, would be a change from living in a condo. Some we’ve seen are usually around 10/12,000baht a month near the Caddyshack pub area so far! Maybe we should checkout the darkside as well! Brian’s a great fella, his place is very affordable for what you get! Your vlogs are getting better for sure, good to chat with the guests 😊

    • @oneendofthailand
      @oneendofthailand  ปีที่แล้ว +4

    Very interesting video. Great information and a wonderful documentation of the place. I have only one question....where are the ladies? Is this an exclusive 'men's club' complex? In today's world you never know so I thought I would ask because I am coming to check out the Pattaya area with my wife and daughter in March 2024 for a month. We are the same age as most in this video.

    • @oneendofthailand
      @oneendofthailand  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks. No, it's not exclusively a men's club. It would be fine for your wife and daughter depending on the available room size of course. Your daughter (depending on her age) would probably find the area a bit dull compared to the activities available in other areas. Many of the guys there live with their Thai girlfriends. The guys in the video were just the ones hanging around the pool when I visited.

    • @jimblakeslee473

      Thanks for the immediate reply. My wife and I are in our mid 60's and my daughter is 43. My daughter will not be moving there with us. I am an avid paraglider pilot and am interested in flying the sites on Koh Larn. I am looking for a neighborhood away from the sex traffic and go go bars. My wife would like to be around active expats her age who do things other than shop and eat all day. We qualify for the retirement visa and will be looking for either a bungalow on the beach or a condo close to the beach with an ocean view (full ocean view... not a slice of the water between two other towers. LOL) We have a budget of 88,000 baht/$2,500 US per month. I will be visiting for a month in Feb/Mar 2024. I'll keep watching your videos for more information. Thanks again for the reply.

    I lived over the "dark side" from 2010 to 2015, aged 40 to 45. That was a life time ago. It should not be called the dark side (yes Im aware of the lack of street lights, certainly back then) it should be called the "enlightened side" because the fountain of knowledge is there. Always has been. Not the laughable beer bar drunks or rookie youtube vloggers who plague central Pattaya.
