- WHAT HAPPENED?! 🤯🤯🤯
This was a rollercoaster of emotions, we were happy, scared, disappointed, relieved, scared again, and then SHOCKED! 😱 We get why Joel was kind of weird when he found Tommy but we are happy he made the right choice in the end 😌
But please let it be just a cliffhanger and that he's ok... 🙏 we can't believe he died just like that after everything they've been through! 😭 We were not expecting it this soon, it can't be true! 😫
Thank you for watching, we hope you enjoy the reaction and have a great day, love you! 💝 - บันเทิง

It broke my heart to see such a strong man like Joel break down like that. It’s like Bill said, he was never afraid until he met Frank. Because now he had something to lose. Also, Congrats on 6k!! 🎉🎊
Thank you!! We can't believe how supportive you've been! You're awesome 🥰
Joel's breakdown was painful to watch, but we believe it's necessary for his growth.
Thanks again, love you! 💕
The thing is, you can pick up Joel and Tommy's relationship since EP1. Joel had always been Tommy's caretaker, he kept him fed, out of trouble, and even kept him alive. Joel was Tommy's guardian, and the only family he had left after Sarah was gone. When Tess came along, Joel still didn't open up fully to her, despite their years together. Tommy was all he got. So when Tommy went silent, he was afraid something had happened to him. His panic attack was the result of thinking something actually did happen to Tommy, after Joel talked with the Native couple. So imagine how Joel felt when he found Tommy, living his best life, without even letting Joel know he was okay. Joel was relieved to find out his brother was alright, but then he felt left out, abandoned, like Tommy doesn't need him anymore. So he shut himself out from Tommy, that's why he initially lied to Tommy, and all the tid bits saying he and Ellie were doing alright on the road. But a man can only hold in everything alone for so long, eventually the dam breaks and Joel falls apart, hence the emotional scene. So yeah, while Joel's response to Tommy's confession was uncalled for, his feelings were justified.
Absolutely, their dynamic is very well written. Joel as the older brother feels responsible for taking care of Tommy, but that "instinct" isn't very prominent in younger siblings.
I hate crying but i always cry to that ellie joel scene when ellie basically lays it all out.. ellie is so vulnerable in that moment and taps in to joels vulnerability and it makes me cry man good sceene.. good episode ❤
We were so scared! We truly thought he wasn't going to make it 😭
Yeah, Tommy totally failed Joel by not sending him one final radio message to let him know he's okay. He just broke off all contact out of the blue, basically abandoning Joel. He's 100% justified in being pis*ed off with him.
Exactly, that would have solved everything. That makes us think about what would have happened with Ellie if Joel wasn't involved. In a way, it's a good thing he had to leave the QZ in the long run.
22:00 This whole scene just hits so hard. *Stellar* acting by Pedro.
There is not a moment in this show that we've said: mmm that acting was a bit poor. All of it is outstanding and Pedro's performance was insanely good there.
I love that couple in the beginning. Northern Exposure.
Right! They were living their best life al alone haha also they knew how to 😁
No matter the outside temperature of the environment, the internal temperature of a human being stays the same.
So even if it is cold outside, you are still nice and habitable to a fungus that lives inside you.
The outside temp only matters if you can no longer maintain your body temp, which generally only happens in warm-blooded animals when they a die
Right, we just thought it needed a warmer environment because of the explanation we got in the introduction, but you're right, if it already mutated, the temperature doesn't matter anymore 😅
32:35 Shit, that gut punch ending. I'll talk about it more next time.
On a lighter note: the outro song is a minor-key version of "Never Let Me Down Again," the Depeche Mode "80s means trouble" song that started playing on the radio at the end of episode 1. It's sung and played by the showrunner's daughter, Jessica Mazin.
We couldn't believe it ended there!
Also we didn't catch that reference, thank you so much! It really adds to the scene if you know what it means.
Just found your channel, and I've subscribed. I've gone back to watch other postings, too. I really liked this series, and I am impressed with all the performances, especially Pedro's. The scene where he confesses to Tommy about his fears and concerns made me tear up. As a father, I find myself empathizing with Joel. I can't wait for season two! Great reaction! I'm looking forward to watching more of your reactions! 🙂
Thank you so much for joining and the support!
As daughters, we see and feel the other end of it. It's heartbreaking, but we'll always feel safer with our dad. And we know Joel says Ellie's just cargo, but we know that's not true anymore.
I'm surprised there aren't more human settlements in the mountains as you guys said the cold should keep the zombies away but also people as they wouldn't be able to wander the wilderness without proper winter clothes and rations though I suppose farming would be difficult
Right, mountain life isn't an easy one, and it's hard to establish a settlement without trouble coming up.
1:35 Ellie's scream was devastating. I really wonder what direction, if any, they gave her on set, because that wasn't just a scream. That was *pain.*
Yeah, Bella keeps proving the amazing actor they are again and again.
Ay, no, I missed this live! Anyway, let's watch now.
Don't worry, it came out in a different schedule than usual.
Oh, and medical PSA: If an object is embedded in your body, leave it there if you have a chance to stabilize it and get immediate medical attention.
If, on the other hand, you have no reasonable hope of immediate medical attention, and you have to get on a horse and ride away at speed because you are being hunted with murderous intent, you'll probably do less damage and be less bad off by pulling it out, carefully.
Either way, your outlook is very poor.
Getting on a horse, that thin would turn into a meat grinder.
Next episode will blow you away ❤
14:30 This is a tricky dilemma. Tommy clearly didn't consider that breaking off radio contact would give Joel the impression that something bad had happened to him, and Joel is understandably pissed. But then, Tommy doesn't strike me as the thinking type, so I can't really blame him. He is a capital-F Follower. He was told "no radio contact," he obeyed. If he had mentioned that he was in steady radio contact with Joel, Maria would probably have been fine with him sending a note. Maria knew from Tommy what kind of person Joel is, and I bet she would have liked to avoid Joel coming to investigate.
That's pretty spot on. We'd say Joel has his reasons to be mad anyways, even if Tommy isn't the thinking type. It shouldn't take a lot of effort to think about your loved ones, right?
@@NerdishReact I know, right? It's one of those things where you just want to slap him across the forehead. "Tommy, think!" But on the other hand, if Tommy *had* told Joel, the show wouldn't have happened, so...
Get better soon 🍀
Thank you! She's feeling much better now 🤗
24:30 This interaction is another improvement over the game. It's basically the same dialog, but in the game Joel is again acting jarringly angry, while here he is acting hurt and angry. It's a lot more relatable and human. The voice actors in the game were great and did a great job, but Pedro and Bella are simply on another level.
Nice! We love how the production found places of improvement and put extra work on making them work properly.
I do get your little pause there... I think the last words during that are so pertenant 'joel now you have ellie' and yeah...yeah ❤ now he does.. that was such a great reaction girls ❤
It was like Joel didn't want to admit how much he cared about Ellie until he couldn't anymore 🥺
I'll always love the look on Tommy's face when he realizes he's a communist
HAHAHA PRICELESS
33:33. I’m thinking all these options are great options!😆🌿🌸
Lol 😂
Can't wait for you to see the final episodes.
Almost there!!
Joel doesn't want to take Tommy from anything. He is in chaos because the person who meant the most to him that he lost Tess trying to find didn't care enough to let him know he's okay. Joel told Ellie you keep going for family. It's his single guiding principle, and now that he's found Tommy safe and happy he realizes Tommy was okay letting him think he was dead. That's straight up betrayal. Maybe not everyone has a sibling, but imagine your kid just lets you think they're dead or unsure of what happened to them. No one expects a parent to just get over that. Why do people expect a sibling to do the same?
That's a really good point. Tommy should have said something before going MIA.
Congrats on 6k on episode 6!🥳
Thank you so so much! You can't imagine how much you're helping us 💖
We're glad our content reached you and we hope we keep creating things you enjoy ❤
You made our achievement of 6k subs so much better 😊 Love youu!
Whole point of this show is to keep fighting and this episode enforces that... It was slower which is a given but it literally nailed the theme of the show overall.. bella ramsays scene with joel in the bedroom makes me cry every time.. its genuine.. this episode we are seeing genuine shit... In tlous world genuine notmally means ffs but not today.. this was real ❤
Yes! We keep getting surprised at the acting, they have perfect chemistry.
13:05 LOL, you nailed it. I have one other problem with communism, but this is not my TED talk.
Lol 🤣
11:00 Yeah, Ellie is definitely not feeling great about this place. But as she says later, she has severe abandonment issues. Understandably.
Totally understandable, she's so young still.
When it really comes down to it tommy is right and joel is right.. this is the theme.. fighting for something.. tommy has fought and has found his peace.. joel is still fighting.. both brother will never truly be at peace but both had different experiences and expectations..it was really nice yo see towards the end here yhat even though they both have identified end goals they put em aside for ellie ❤❤❤ i think thats very rich and actually somewhat humbling.
Yes, you can see how both sides perfectly portrait the reality of the situation. But in the end, brothers are brothers and they came around. It was lovely to see 💖
21:01 Well, ain't that the truth. :)
🤭🤭
Cool up to the tommy joel talk here..just gonna throw in a few ❤❤❤😢😢😢😢 cause.. fuck.. that was an amazing scene.. this show is 🎉
Totally, it felt really genuine.
Finally someone gets that Tommy never asked Joel to do it. Joel was an overbearing older sibling. Of course with massive survivor guilt, but still.
It's a hard situation, he should have said something still because, as Joel's brother, he should know him enough to know he would cross the globe to find him, even if he didn't ask. They both did something wrong.
@@NerdishReact they both did something wrong is a pretty good summary of all of TLOU
Ps..get well soon... ❤ Better not be ye old cordycepts 😂😂
Lol she recovered, maybe she's immune 😬
thanks for reaction
Thanks for watching!
Some species of ants who have to deal with this kind of fungus will leave guards at the entrances to their hive. Those guards will smell every ant coming in, and if they detect an Infected, they grab it, take it well away from the hive, kill it, then kill themselves.
Ohh that's insane! What amazing creatures.
Another good episode!
Agreed!! And that cliffhanger!? 😬
I think you were just joking about “horse boys” 😂, but in case you weren’t, “cowboy” is the term for those types of people who ride horses even if no cows are involved. Obviously it comes originally from the fact that they generally herded cattle, but the term became more generic than that even though it doesn’t really make sense (and horseboy would be more logical). Anyone who rides horses as a big part of their living/life (not counting jockeys in horse races or other sporting competitions alone) is probably considered a”cowboy”, especially if they wear a “cowboy hat” and also use guns and/or lassos. 😜
Loved the reaction as always! Glad you got a “breather” from the otherwise relentless sadness of this show. Three more to go! 👍
Lol we were totally joking with the cowboy/horseboy situation 😂
Thank you so much! We were happy for a moment, at least before we saw that cliffhanger 😭
Guys there are 9 episodes.
Right! We don't know why we thought there were 8 😅
9:00 Where you are, would you call "horse boys" caballeros, gauchos, or something else?
Vaqueros, which also uses the word 'vaca' (cow) in the beginning as a prefix 😉
@@NerdishReact D'oh, forgot about vaqueros. Of course, that's what they call them in Sonora as well. I think "caballeros" is a term local to the US southwest, like New Mexico.
This one definitely was chiller.. kinda some really hard themes... Like family is a bitch man init 😂😂😂 truly... That kind of glue is in of itself is dangerous..but i digress. What i think about this episode in particular is the dumb reality that kin can be anyone... Especially in an apocalypse but more generally just anyone.. joel sussed that out after seeing his blood kin was fine..realising this new kind of kin needed help and that's sorta how kinship works.. its a mechanism engrained in everyone the best of us will cotton on to..the last of us will fade away..
Right, that makes a lot of sense!
I don't know if you are gamers. If you are not you should definitely watch the playthrough of the videogame for comparison. It's totally worth it.
Also, you're not ready for the next episode.
Thank you for the recommendation! We've never seen it.
16:50. Never have I seen better arguments for and against Tommy not telling Joel about his spot! Phenomenal!🌿🌸
Thank you! We're sisters so it's easy for us to put our self in that sort of situation 💕
🐑
In many ways, albeit a bit strange, is the movie vibe of "Jeremiah Johnson"...which is perhaps within the top 10 movies of all time.
As an one off movie, "Jeremiah Johnson", can't be beat. And, it's got Robert Redford when he was at the top of his game.
Kin means a whole bunch of things...basically, it's family, in an older definition it means collective knowledge.
And why is communism a bad word? Communes were perhaps the ultimate idea to forge strong communities?
Anyways, whatever, just following the story....;-)
Joel is being a dick, but, it is because, this "brotherly" rupture has pitted competing mindsets/agendas....they are not the same people from episode 1. Time has happened.
LOL...too much craziness...This is how a totally dysfunctional catastrophically insane world would be. Maybe? Makes you wonder was this a thing before the outbreak?
Just saying, life is boring in general, 1/2 into the video, let's watch it unfold.
All the best.
Cheers.
Too much craziness indeed haha 😆
The communism part was hilarious, Tommy couldn't believe he was a part of that. It kinda shows that Joel wasn't wrong worrying about Tommy, since he dives head first into things without knowing exactly what it is that he's getting into. This time it was an awesome and functional commune, but it could have been anything and Joel knew the risks.
Joel's wrong for wanting to drag Tommy away from a happy life, and Tommy's wrong for not trying to let Joel know that he is okay. Really hard to find the "right thing to do" in regular life let alone in a world that's fallen.
Absolutely, they both had their reasons but they both did something wrong, like what happens in real life. Amazing writing.
Kinda agree but same time I don't think it was such a bad idea especially since joel basically explained he felt he was wrong to take ellie.. nothing wrong with self doubt.. tbh this episode kinda goes a long way to explain yhe whole mechanics of kinship and even more extreme focus on the older sibling..no that it matters..but gives focus.. no one was right essentially.. works out but tons of cogs spinning there and none of em wer due seizing up.
@scarymonsterrs
Joel didn't want to tear Tommy out of his happy life.
Joel just wanted his brother's help with a specific mission. Regardless, Joel has taken on a long, arduous and life-threatening journey in the belief that he will save his brother. Only to find out that his brother has built a new life for himself in safety and peace and is not willing to help him!
I still don't understand why Joel and Tommy couldn't have both gone with Ellie. Two capable adults are better than one. It would have reduced the risk for both of them.
That's true! It would have been a nice alternative.
Theyre both wrong in a sense, but i think tommy is more in the wrong. Joel had been in cantact with tommy back when him and tess were still living in boston. Then all of a sudden tommy stopped communication and joel was paniking wondering what happened to his brother. Joels entire adventure is based on him saving his brother bc he thought something horrible had happened to him. Come to find out through all the traumatizing events to get to tommy, tommy had been living his best life with not thought of joel at all. Tommy was being a bad brother.
Joel was wrong for expecting tommy to just drop everything and leave with him. In my opinion thats no where near as bad as tommy cutting joel out of his life with no explanation.
Absolutely, it was all avoidable with just one message explaining he'd go somewhere where he'd loose communication but he'd be fine.
