For small wrists, like ours, the size of this watch is perfect. It looks much better on you than your old Grand Seiko.
Taking the reduced cost at which you acquired it, you lucky bastard!, the cost of maintenance was not onerous at all. Have you thought about re-plating it with gold? Or do you prefer to keep it in its original state (I would re-plate it :))

I looked a bit into replating, but apparently, the outcome can be mixed if not done properly. I'll keep it in mind though.

Is there anything about this quartz movement that is grand? Better quality crystal? How accurate is it running after all of these years?

The movement is rated to +/-5 seconds per month. The twin quartz models of Grand Quartz were rated to +/- 10 seconds per year. Some Seiko Superior watches were rated to +/-5 seconds per year, which matches or even surpasses Grand Seiko Quartz calibers. I changed the time on my Grand Quartz due to filming so I'm not sure how accurate it is, but overall it's been pretty accurate.
