    Thanks... nice and informative... ❤FYI... I recently bought a similar watch to your donor watch with the same damage on the Seiko logo... 😅

    Love these early high quality quartz watches. Have twin quartz king and grand. Looking to buy a superior also. 20,10 and 5 sec accuracy a YEAR...

      You have a good set of Seiko quartz watches! I love them too.

    Thanks for the detailed explanations on the differences between this quartz and mechanical movements. I have been interested in the early Seiko quartz watches and feel they are really good quality as was demonstrated by the disassembly here. When they were introduced they were among the most expensive models in the Seiko catalog!

      Thank you, Maksim for your comment! Looks like you know the history of Seiko watches better than me. And it is a nice thing!

    Do you know how to open Seiko 9943 8020 back case? It doesn't have 2 windows like yours...just one.

    how do I change the battery? a nickel coin turns the cover but I can't lift the cover off - there is nothing to grab onto to pull the cover

      There are engravings on the cover for Close and Open positions. The cover should pop up when it is in the open position. Just make sure you turn the coin far enough to get to that point.

      @@ValentechTime hi, no it does not pop up - I will try to use a suction cup that you use on laptops try to "pull" the cover off. very frustrating.

      @@user-jv9qz2bu1r Sometimes these covers are screwed too tight by previous owners, for example when putting too thick battery. I'd open the case back and see if cover is stuck. You will also can remove the battery this way.

      @@ValentechTime Hello Friend. I used my Swiss Army knife blade to try to pry the back of the case off. Once, twice, three four times. Then I said okay next try the battery cover yet again. There was nothing to grab on to! No purchase. But I said don't give up try to grasp it, try, try. And on the court attempt the battery cover flew out. I can not read the model number on the Japanese Sony battery (SR 448W is my guess) but it was chunky as you suspected. I happened to have Swatch batteries on hand and they were at least 50% slimmer - Renata 390 - and I slipped one in and it began to tick. Hallelujah. That was 5 minutes ago and you are the first to know. Now I need to replace he black leather watch band - what do you recommend? the small holding strap under which the main straps tucks in came loose. At the same time - can I glue this? or no? .BTW I have a few old Seiko's - in addition to this King Quartz I have an Actus Silver Wave blue dial - what a handsome watch!!

      @@user-jv9qz2bu1r Very nice, you did it! The correct battery is SR1120 (or 381) for this watch. But if your battery fits, it could be used too. In regards of gluing the small band over to the the main band, I doubt it will last long. Actus is a nice watch. I have it as well, it's based on the Seiko 6106 movement.

    Interesting video. How much force was used to break the clutch like that?

    • @ValentechTime
      @ValentechTime  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Probably a lot of consistency was needed in rotating the crown while filling some resistance. I'm surprised that other gear(s) got unaffected. Thank you for watching, Michael!

      I guess we need to wait 50 years to get the answer. 😉
