Hey thomas I wanna ask about a video that you uploaded and then removed, I'm talking about the FERRARI PUROSANGUE, I think the car was in blue color. May I ask why you removed it?. I liked that video a lot more than the other video where you review the car in the snow. Thank you for clarifying.
Land Cruise is used for rescruer, War zone, and all kinds of applications when the environment is like hell. Hybrid is very smart and well proven technology, reliable, and efficient. More durable than any Turbo gasoline engines and any diesel post 2008 with complicated expensive emission systems. All way with hybrid if possible. Toyota with NiMh battery and hybrid technology since 1998. EV is stupid for such applications. We still need heat generator (ICE) and long range. Any EV will dropped the range as much as 40% in cold weather. But not hybrid.
Leather is disgusting, why people still opt to sit over dead animal skin is troublesome. Toyota is still way late to the new energy game, the Leopard 5 will leave this Prado in the dust: this Toyota is a hybrid with a foolish electric motor and a 1.87kWh battery. Why in this world is not Toyota making this as a PHEV run by two electric motors and an efficient smaller ICE range extender could only be attributed to their undeniable wish to sell lots of fossil fuels.
I really feel like Toyota have knocked it out of the park with this one. It looks fantastic and if it is even better than previous models both on and off road, sounds like a win-win all around.
The retro look brings back memories. My family lived in South America in 1970s , the standard executive car for the company were Toyota LandCrusiers and VW Beetles ( they wouldn’t over heat in 42 Celsius temps) and Landcruisers would never get stuck in unpaved muddy roads . My family’s other car was. Mercedes from those years also built like a tank . I currently own a Toyota 4 Runner which is a Japanese Tank , can’t wait to see the Lexus version of this new Land Cruiser. When we came back to the US , my dad missed his Beetle so much .. he bought a Porsche 911 .. honestly not as indestructible as the Beetle
0:27 Thomas perfectly co-ordinated with the car's colours, again! 🤗 This man has style. 5:44 The Japanese are just so sensible with their separate A/C controls. Bravo.
Toyota nailed it with this one, and it'll be another product to sell like hot cakes. Thanks for the video once again, Thomas. You always deliver the information perfectly and straight to the point!

Great, great review once again, Thomas! I have been watching your videos almost since the beginning, and it's so amazing to see the progress and your enthusiasm evolving. Thanks for a great review and a great tool, nice presentation. When I buy this vehicle, the first thing I will do is take the spare tire out of its slot at the bottom, buy a nice cover and put it in, instead of buying the 7-seater version, I will buy the 5-seater version and when I go long distances, maybe if I have room in the trunk, I will keep the spare tires in the trunk of the vehicle. When they are on the bottom, it is not very practical to use and they get very dirty.
You know, for what it is as a highly capable off-road machine, I think the styling and features are fantastic and can’t wait to see it in person!!! Thanks Thomas!
Love almost everything about this. Its got hints of the FJ and looks like they took some inspiration from the new Bronco too. The only thing I really hate is that they got rid of the electric sliding back window. The pop-up one is just inferior in terms of functionality. Its probably one of my favorite features on my 4Runner.
Almost a year later, I still think this is the best colour coordinated car review on this channel. I know you coordinate your clothes with the car colours on all the reviews, but this one is excellently done.
Toyota has hit the target 🎯 what brilliant modern retro style we have been waiting for. So glad Toyota did not follow other OEM with touch screens, good old push buttons for practicality. Beauty with reliability ❤ 🇬🇧
I think the exterior styling of this is quite nice. The crisp angles all over really convey the ruggedness and off-road capabilities. Design of the front and rear lights is pretty good (with the exception of that tiny turn signa at the rear). The interior looks a bit cheaper than I would've hoped for a car that will probably be quite expensive. It just looks very plastic-y, whereas in many of the previous gens of the LC, it was quite luxurious for a capable truck. All of the physical buttons are nice, though, and the rectangular overlapping dash elements are a nice and unique design touch. The all-digital instruments are disappointing. Responsiveness of the central screen looks very nicely responsive, though. And yes, I also prefer fixed rear floor mats, but hopefully they know what they're doing. I have to say that the third row being typical fold down seats instead of the sideways-folding seats like the old LCs is a little sad, although these are of course much more practical. I'm now very curious what the bigger version looks like and how it's different than this one.
As a happy 2020 Land Rover Defender owner, I must say this looks strikingly similar in many places. I do also see Bronco in there. I don’t really see Land Cruiser, but we’re really just comparing boxes on wheels at the end of the day. Lovely review as always guys!

Hello from Canada, this looks really good but happened to your 2 door Land Cruiser? 🤔We were so jealous of Europe's access to a more compact 2 door Toyota 4X4.
Great review. It's very rare to hear reviewers mentioning that the Prado is sold in Africa other than just mentioning Australia, New Zealand, and Japan. I'm from Kenya and the Prado is a status symbol, hugely popular on our roads. The popularity and association with Government agencies, politicians and bisiness people has made it the dream car for most people. So, next time it would be great to hear reviewers, especially from Europe and America, mention Africa as markets for vehicles like this one. Thank you.
I just got back from Morocco (Fes) and couldn't believe how many Range Rovers I saw out there, more than Prados I think. Very surprised to say the least!
Prados are incredibly popular in Australia too. There was some concern they might not be as long lasting as the bigger Landcruisers but we are seeing some clock up over 500,000km with no major problems.A saw one that had done 950,000 km.A friend has one that has done 330,000 km including towing and it still feels and looks almost new.
In general, I think Toyota's design team is doing some good stuff. They hit a home run with the RAV4, and then hit it out of the park with the Grand Highlander. This Land Cruiser is another great design. Not quite perfected yet maybe, but give it a couple of years and a transition to the solid state batteries, and it should be at it's best. I really like these three models.
@@lettuce1305 may be but see the headlamp rings are have a cut on the upper side. Of course the land cruiser has its own styling but I feel inspiration was the defender.

The Toyota Prado still has useless boot space with 7 seats up, yet I love it anyway. I hope they produce a version that carries the spare tyre at the back. For the overlanding community and here in Africa its very important that we can install long range tanks underneath
I wonder how popular the 5 seater will be. Personally i never have enough people in a car with me to warrant 7 seats so having extra boot space/storage would be far more practical.
This pretty much ticks every box. Better looking than the defender and g wagon and most likely as good or better off road. Love the retro design elements mixing old with new. This might end up being toyotas best selling car. I will definitely be getting one the next time I change and it will be my first toyota.
But they should clarify their land cruiser line-up... Because if you go to a toyota dealer in south africa for example, a land cruiser could be 10 completely different cars... There's the 76 series, this new one, the prado, the v8 supersport... It's very messy
@@bringbacktheolddislike305 Depending on the market, names are altered. If you think this is messy, take a look at how the Nissan Sunny/Versa changes names in different markets, and if you look into previous generations, you're in an actual mess.
@@bringbacktheolddislike305 "This new one" is the new Prado, so should not be any confusion there if you have an IQ above 50. In markets where the LC 300 is sold, the car in the video is called the LC Prado. It's not exactly brain surgery.
very informative and great video as allways, thank you. my feedback for the future videos: the camera or smartphone you are recording is set a little bit to dark. to much contrast and i could barely see anything in the interior and trunk. also the camera somehow changes the hue in a kinda wierd way.
The reliability will be second to none and for many many buyers out there that will be enough. Overall a much improved and attractive new model - not LR luxury but good enough for any undecided buyer to fall for the Land Cruiser besides the fact that stealing a Land Cruiser will be a lot harder than it is for any Land Rover... Toyota has now hit the hot spot and Ineos prospective customers will certainly give it a good look as well. We can only hope Toyota will restraint from exaggerating its prices like LR and Ineos have done... if it does then it will have a very large chunk of the market for itself...
This is what a new generation 4Runner should look like. That's what it reminds me of. I'll have to wait a few years to find a 2-3 y.o. one. I rarely buy new vehicles and at the prices these days I don't think it's in the cards. I really like the sand w/black trim & wheels color scheme. I see room for a golf bag when 3rd row is up! How does it ride on the highway? I never leave the pavement except for the rare occasion of a dirt driveway in Maine. Is there no pure gas option, V6?
Like the design. Like all the improvements. Worthy updates on the Prado. Pity about the engines. I would have expected a competition to the Ford Everest V6 (also VW Amarok). A nice V6 diesel would have been great. I assume it would have put it against the LC 300. Great review, great car.
Awsome design , is there a slightly compact version of this available in uk ? Rav 4 design isn’t as nice as this car , only if rav 4 can be redesigned to look like this
Nice car, I like the design both inside and outside to, but as for the engine for European market I think a 3 liter V6 diesel would be better for such a big car, especially if you want to tow more than 2,5 ton. As for the review, good job Thomas, as always! We like Autogefühl !!! Greetings from Hungary and Transilvania! 👏👏👏
Would love that Thomas shows this car to the German car makers how they should build their cars...THE LONG TERM QUALITY AND REALIABILITY part..😂😂😂 Sorry but that is the first thing that comes to write 😂

Why did Toyota offer two dashboard designs for the new LC Prado that only differed in volume knob locations? While the one shown here, which is likely to be the one offered in most markets, has the volume knob just above the USB ports, the US model has the knob in the panel between the gauge cluster and the infotainment screen. Odd.
This new Prado is a downgraded model for us they will give us 2.4T with 280PS while the previous V6 4.0 can make 271PS so only 10 horsepower difference and it's not that big so I prefer the previous 4.0 V6 on the old Prado against the 2.4T and I hope Toyota release for our market the 3.4T because it can make 349PS around 70 horsepower difference and that good Second thing the new Prado only has front EKDSS only, while the old Prado had the old KDSS but was in the front and rear Third thing and this one not only in Toyota its general in car industry that I don't like the digital gauge at all i want the old analogue gauges back like what Toyota did for the land cruiser they didn't remove the gauge analogue
I agree with you on all points. They should at very least give an option for customer if we want digital or analogue gauges. I would definitelygo for analogue ones.
Yes I like the look of this a lot. If I heard correctly, should be able to get a good spec, without animal skins, and with a hybrid that might not attract a massive environment tax here in France. Looks great too. Perfect replacement for my Wrangler 4xe??
@@mohammeds5458 well obviously because using the skins of defenceless terrified exploited brutalised victims is a horrific, disgraceful thing to do, especially as we know it’s entirely unnecessary and there are far better, less archaic materials available, which also happen to be much better for the planet too. So any good, decent, progressive person should always try to avoid using animal skins. The added benefit of course is that cloth seats get less hot in the summer and less cold in the winter, and usually breathe better and can reduce weight, hence most prestige manufacturers are now progressing back towards them. I’m surprised you have to ask……did you not know this?
Also: animal skin seats can be really uncomfortable. I have partial animal skin/alcantara seats in my car, and I find them quite painful after an hour or so in the car.

What happened to the "small offroader" like the original RAV4, anything to bear competition with the Suzuki Jimmy, Fiat Panda and Dacia Duster?
I love the style, content and production quality of your videos Thomas. 👍🏻😀
It would be nice of you measured the length of the whole cargo area to see if it is long enough to put down the seats and sleep in the back.
Great review again !!
I think Toyota has nailed the design on this one. Good job.
Probably the best 4 x4 for the real world... Basically it'll go anywhere and last forever
any news on pricing for European market?
Lovely vehicle and really like the design and styling. Made me laugh you trying out the far rear seats!
Bummer that you only get rounded headlights on FE and it’s not an option on non standard models:/
I'm not a 4WD person at all, but that is a nice bit of kit. Plus we know down here in 🇦🇺🦘, Toyota 4WDs take our harsh outback conditions. Well done Toyota. 👍
I like it very much, back to past kind of design 😉😊
Finally some good looking vehicles from Toyota this year. Very Retro
Looks really good inside and out. I can imagine myself driving in Arizona to the Grand Canyon in this 😉
Hey thomas I wanna ask about a video that you uploaded and then removed, I'm talking about the FERRARI PUROSANGUE, I think the car was in blue color. May I ask why you removed it?. I liked that video a lot more than the other video where you review the car in the snow. Thank you for clarifying.
Same video! th-cam.com/video/yFROgVhQhjQ/w-d-xo.htmlsi=iozvxRBmfBXghEoP
Hope Thomas review the Land Cruiser LC300 version.
Nice video.
@miyahtallulahthe new defender is meh
Defender got far better looking as classic than this one.
@@bringbacktheolddislike305 "This new one" is the new Prado, so should not be any confusion there if you have an IQ above 50. In markets where the LC 300 is sold, the car in the video is called the LC Prado. It's not exactly brain surgery.
Nice work. This is the car I’m waiting for.
I currently cruise through Europe with my dog in a Seat Ateca. This is definitely high up there as an awesome replacement to aim for in the future.
In love with this car.
very informative and great video as allways, thank you. my feedback for the future videos: the camera or smartphone you are recording is set a little bit to dark. to much contrast and i could barely see anything in the interior and trunk. also the camera somehow changes the hue in a kinda wierd way.
It looks partially (at least) inspired by the new defender and I love it!
yeah but the defender is exponentially uglier
ANy idea id the final FIrst Editions in Europe will have a sunroof? or at least the possibility to option it.. thank you!
The outfit coordination is amazing today.
What is the volume of the trunk in liters?
In the 5 seater configuration?
500 Liters?
600 Liters?
It looks like a big Jimny ❤
Very nice video!!! I'm not a Toyota guy but from this review I like the new land cruiser very much.
👍
Very clean design. Is there a way to remove the front lettering on the grill? Also, why did they go with a screen for the gauge dials?
The reliability will be second to none and for many many buyers out there that will be enough. Overall a much improved and attractive new model - not LR luxury but good enough for any undecided buyer to fall for the Land Cruiser besides the fact that stealing a Land Cruiser will be a lot harder than it is for any Land Rover... Toyota has now hit the hot spot and Ineos prospective customers will certainly give it a good look as well. We can only hope Toyota will restraint from exaggerating its prices like LR and Ineos have done... if it does then it will have a very large chunk of the market for itself...
Here in America it is only coming out with Hybrid power and 5 seater option.
I actually like the round headlights more than the triple beam.
Only thing that I dislike about this vehicle is I wish it had the rear window of the 4Runner that can roll up or down.
Absolutely love this, fancy the higher spec version next year potentially.
Always loved FJ. Good to see a ripened version of it under Land Cruiser label. Waiting for black colour!
These are going to be impossible to actually get.
Marked up like crazy.
Fucking dealers 😡
Awsome design , is there a slightly compact version of this available in uk ? Rav 4 design isn’t as nice as this car , only if rav 4 can be redesigned to look like this
Nice car, I like the design both inside and outside to, but as for the engine for European market I think a 3 liter V6 diesel would be better for such a big car, especially if you want to tow more than 2,5 ton.
As for the review, good job Thomas, as always! We like Autogefühl !!! Greetings from Hungary and Transilvania! 👏👏👏
really excited for the 2.8 1GD turbo diesel hybrid with the 8 speed auto.
A proper V6 Diesel for Europe would be a wet dream
Diesel is the reason why they are so great and why everyone prefers them
What is the fuel capacity of the vehicle? Is it still 150 litres like the 150 Series Prado?
Love the design. I thinks it can hold for decades. And touch/physical controls proportion on point. Previous gen now looks like it's from early 2000
In profile, the little white “spoiler” above the rear glass greatly improves the design vs. the usual boxiness. Sportier.
Would love that Thomas shows this car to the German car makers how they should build their cars...THE LONG TERM QUALITY AND REALIABILITY part..😂😂😂
Sorry but that is the first thing that comes to write 😂
Nice review. Really like the (re-) design of the Land Cruiser 👍
I really wished that Toyota offered that 2.8L Turbo Diesel here in the States...
That particular engine is lit 👑
But Murica hates diesel.
@@destroyedsoul1791 America doesn't hate diesel. Liberal politicians hate diesel..
Diesel is sh1t. A four cylinder diesel is noisy, dirty and expensive to maintain. Nothing to do with silly USA politics
@@markjonz Toyota's diesels are amazing little engines. I don't know what you are talking about..
It's wading depth? You recomend this or land rover defender?
Great job, Toyota.

The leather on the seats looks a bit nasty but the car itself looks great 👍👍
Why did Toyota offer two dashboard designs for the new LC Prado that only differed in volume knob locations? While the one shown here, which is likely to be the one offered in most markets, has the volume knob just above the USB ports, the US model has the knob in the panel between the gauge cluster and the infotainment screen. Odd.
Brilliant design!
Thanks!
Highly appreciate the support !!
This new Prado is a downgraded model for us they will give us 2.4T with 280PS while the previous V6 4.0 can make 271PS so only 10 horsepower difference and it's not that big so I prefer the previous 4.0 V6 on the old Prado against the 2.4T and I hope Toyota release for our market the 3.4T because it can make 349PS around 70 horsepower difference and that good
Second thing the new Prado only has front EKDSS only, while the old Prado had the old KDSS but was in the front and rear
Third thing and this one not only in Toyota its general in car industry that I don't like the digital gauge at all i want the old analogue gauges back like what Toyota did for the land cruiser they didn't remove the gauge analogue
I agree with you on all points. They should at very least give an option for customer if we want digital or analogue gauges. I would definitelygo for analogue ones.
The presenter is Very Detailed Oriented and concise. Excellent Review.
That hard plastic above the transmission tunnel will get scratched very badly if someone put their feet over it. 😢
Is already looking scuffed. What was the designer thinking. I put this to Toyota Australia telling them to put carpet.
Wonderful. But please back horizontally-split rear tail-gate: so practical, so sensible
They probably can’t do because of weight?
@@inMotionOutdoors Composite
Has FJ Cruiser vibes.
What is the measurement from the floor to the ceiling? How about rear to back of 2nd row of seat when collapsed and folded forward?
Yes I like the look of this a lot. If I heard correctly, should be able to get a good spec, without animal skins, and with a hybrid that might not attract a massive environment tax here in France.
Looks great too. Perfect replacement for my Wrangler 4xe??
Why without animal skin?
@@zoid9969 indeed, and can be less supportive/gripping in tight turns etc.

That's total pure BS I've never heard it before.
Does it still come standard with rattles, tupperware interior and calender for a speedo?
Where are the mounts for ZPU-14.5 or ZU-23-2 placed?
