few things about his annoyances, is you can go to settings to enable dark theme + make the unlock button unlock all doors instead of the driver's only.
@@Moon222If I press the door unlock on my driver’s door, it unlocks them all. If I just want to unlock the driver’s door I just grab the handle and open it. That leaves the other doors locked.
You can change the rear door beep in the mid display , just have to go into the setting, plus you can turn off the auto door lock feature, in the display in the middle of the car. Just turn off the speed lock and you are all good. Plus Touota dealer can turn off the rear door beep completely, service department can do this for you. Enjoy, they are an amazing car.
Should I really go to a dealer to turn something off… that’s exactly what puts so many buyers off buying new…the unnecessary hassle because of beeping extras…
You can actually unplug the cable from the speaker, it’s in the boot lid next to where the subwoofer is housed. Did this on my previous fortuner and now on my FE LC 250.
Hi Ronny, some tips on your annoyances…. If it’s anything like the 300 you can do the following 1. Tailgate beeping. The service department can configure it to only beep once 2. I’ve updated my setting so that when I put the vehicle into park all doors unlock. Noting there are a number of different configurations available. Looking forward to more videos on the 250’s journey
Last thing I want is my car unlocking when I put it in Park or even turn it off. Imagine the kids in the back and wife with you and you stop somewhere and select P and then carjackers jump out to steal it No way. And carjacking is on the increase in Aus.

I watched your video with great interest as an owner of a Jeep Rubicon with eTorque. The 48V assist mentioned, Jeep made available in early Wrangler JL models. Mine is a '21 model purchased new. As with the Prado, the Rubicon also has sway-bar connection, rear lockers including front lockers and many other "off-road" tools. The beeps, locks and other "annoying" things you should be able to find in menu settings with the ability to turn off/on or edit as desired. The bright instrument display on a Rubicon can be simply adjusted using a "wheel" knob on the dash, even when driving. The Prado is an amazing vehicle. Time will tell if the legendary Toyota stands up to the legendary reliability.
Ronny I have had success just unplugging speaker under the rear bumper to remove that beeping noise or you can turn the volume down sometimes with a OBD adapter and the carista app. This was on a Kluger so hopefully transferable to this vehicle!
In India I have a vehicle called the Toyota Innova HyCross (also known as Innova Zenix, based on the TNGA-C platform) which also has this beeping while opening the tailgate and it allows you to reduce the volume of the beeping noise. Have set it to Level 1 from Level 3 that it came with from factory.
Love your videos! We get all the same Toyota’s with similair specs in South Africa and have similair places to explore. Just a quick heads-up on the 1, door unlocking. It can be set to unlock all doors (including boot) on the driver’s door. 2 The beep is irritating when you do open the boot though!!! (thank goodness for that built-in window latch) 3. And the bright display can be adjusted in the digital settings.

Ronny, I knew you had some of the specs wrong in previous videos and didn't say anything which is why I respect you coming out and correcting it. You're not wrong in the very little information provided from the start with models and colours, and luckily like you I order the Altitude which was supposed to be delivered next week but now a 6 week wait due to a ship failing quarantine. I mainly picked the altitude because I didn't need 7 seats anymore, the tyre setup, sway bar disconnect and diff lock. Having said that the whining I've seen on FB regarding the 7 seat having no room behind the seats has been in there for all 7 & 8 seat 4WD model and different vehicle manufactures and if you don't want 7 seats take them out. The box is a bit odd but that is removable also. I will look forward to more videos including mods for the wise Ronny and hopefully by the time my vehicle arrives i will have all the information. Keep up the great videos.
So agree with your comment on bright screens. Years ago I had a series of SAABs and got addicted to the improved contrast and eye relief when night driving by pushing a button which switched off all lights except the speedo. I currently drive a Paj Sport which is old school instrument cluster and achieve s similar effect by turning the reo switch all the way down. However, when I drive a new car at night I find the dash lighting, touch screens etc have overpowering illumination. It’s dangerous, unsafe and mind blowing stupid that our safety authorities think that this is safe design practice.

Wow Ronny, you got the new LC 250. So interesting and all the new info you put out on it like the swaybar disconnect makes a difference. I'm really looking forward to more of this vehicle on the channel now. Yeah 👍🏼👍🏼
Congrats on the new Prado Ronny , will be very interested to see what you do with it over time. I seriously considered one as I am stepping out of my 2021 Fortuner, but after much time comparing two vehicles, I have just ordered the Ford Everest Tremor V6 , similar $ dollars as well to the Prado. I will be towing a van and 600nm ticked the box for me, as well as all the standard offroad gear fitted to the Tremor. Gr8 channel mate keep it coming!
The beeping from the tailgate is really annoying, I just disconnected it from my lc300. It’s easy to do, if you look under the rear bumper, at lc300 is on the driver side, there is a connector you can take out, and that’s it! Easy fix and a lot less noise in the morning 🤠

There should be a dial or knob to adjust digital display brightness near the steering column. Classic toyota product. You probably have it turned to daylight setting and so it won't auto-dim when the sun goes down.
Only Landcruisers and flagship lexus models are made in yoshiwara factory in Japan. The prado is a LC, its made along side the 70 and the 200/300. In fact, in many parts of the world the landcruiser prado is the only landcruiser they get. If you're not towing, and you've got a family who enjoys spending time outdoors then the prado is the right option. That's why its so popular globally. I get why people call it a shopping trolley but it also shows a lot of ignorance on their part. Personally im loving the look of the new prado, but I'll be buying it in gx550 overland guise. Looking forward to this build and im very happy to see its not "another game changer build " of a 70 series or 300.
Congrats on the new purchase Ronny. I look forward to the testing, mods, and reviews. The 2.8 is in the new 70 and still in the prado. I predict that the new hilux will come with a new range of engines. Perhaps a 2.5 twin turbo and 2.0 vnt, but I doubt that they'll carry the 2.8 over.
Top tip Make sure you put 5/40 oil instead of 0/30 oil they do 0/30 for admissions but it doesn’t hold up to temperature well and oil breaks down quicker
5/40. still needs changing every month.. next to water..funny new cars use this crap, which goes past the rings burns away, then the greenies, epa, get angry, but they want all this crap..
Always wortthy of the LANDCRUISER badge, always have been a light version but still a cruiser.. they get a lot of hate in AUS because it's not a V8 but overseas they are pretty popular... Looking forward to seeing where this new rig goes - as always thank you for the great content Ronny, is still informative and well put together
I am very exited Rony bought this 250. I am thinking to buy his car and i cannot wait to wath all the tests he will do with this car. Please Ronny more videos
At 350 000 kms and original CVS after heaps of 4wding in a Prado 90 series, I believe you can get across Australia, and back again in a brand new one. They are by definition, a Landcruiser
Will be keen to see what can be built in the back with that box of electrics under the flooor. I love my 150 with 150 litres. Probabjy not as much of an issue going forward as I’m not likely to be doing desert trips like canning stock route again. But one stop Norseman-Ceduna was nice, avoids highest priced fuel!
i went to have a look at the seven seat VX yesterday.... sat in the front seat and it was fantastic.... feel of the new seats and comfort was great. asked to see the boot and the salesman apologised.... after opening up the rear door i could see why. the gaps between the seats and storage box are cavernous (7 seat)..... you could lose a small animal down there, (it is literally open) you can cover it with a rubber mat.... like my current GDJ150 (later shape). difference is the mat in my VX is for catching crap and saving the wear on the floor... in the new 250 it could be for covering up a turd which is the 22cm deep well that is the rear seats design. for a car that costs over $90k for the variant we were looking at... it was a 7 step walk away the 7 seat versions for mine. such a shame for a aesthetically pleasing vehicle for the most part.
The diff ratio has been dropped to 3.5 for the 250, so people looking to put 33" tires or bigger on means it won't pull the skin off a rice pudding let alone tow something.
Fantastic episode, looking forward to seeing how you go with the 48v n the adblue, especially remote touring. Seems like Toyota see's the marketability of the Landcruiser name
I see Tough Dog Suspension have already clocked up 1,000kms testing and have now just swapped out the factory suspension to raise the car & beef up the suspension with their own product & are now out bush doing R&D to test and dial it all in for the best combo package before they launch a decent package which the Prado definately needs as top priority. Next it needs 17inch rims with decent tyre wall height as a must do mod and the best looking rim for that is the ROH Assault in machined finish "Stunning Rim" (17 x 9" preferable neg 22)
Great video Ronny, looking forward to see more on beach and sand dunes as well as towing and what accessories can be powered with the 48 volt electrical system; looks like a factory snorkel? Finally, no one likes AdBlue but if its helps the planet, I'm in.
Congratulations brother. I just got mine last week and I love it. There are easy fix for some of the problems you mentioned: 1. If you forgot to switch the night mode on your screen, you can kill the brightness of the screen by using the scroller button above of the boot openning button. It won't change to night mode, but it won't bother you anymore. 2. For the boot noise. Long press ok on your steering wheel, go to settings and you will find the option to change the setting. PLEASE. Dont cut any wire 😂😂 Enjoy
Hey Ronny. Love the LC250 Prado. Looking forward to your in depth reviews. The tail gate beeping can be turned off with software from dealer. I have the RAV4 Hybrid and it originally had the same annoying beep. Simply ask Toyota to disable it on your next service (or tomorrow if you can’t wait that long😂).
In terms of the locking mechanism of the door. You can change it in the system settings where when you put the car in park, all the doors unlock instead of only the driver’s door. Had the same issues on my LC300
We will get the 48v assisted Diesel here in Switzerland probably next Year. So the LC is a really worthy candidate for what my next vehicle would be. As we wont get the 4Runner ,which im interested too, without import it from the US. So in terms of reliability, spare parts availability, possible legal parts tuning options and of course the 10 years warranty, perhabs it will definitly be the LC. Keep us up with all the updates on yours 👌🏼😎
Good on yah Ron. You have great tastes, as that’s the same grade and colour assuming it’s glacier white, as what l want to get in a few years time, when l can afford it. So for me for now it’s enjoying watching videos of people like yourself who own them to gauge what they think of their vehicles especially if it’s an Altitude. Early media reports suggested that the Altitude had the same features as the VX minus a few things like adaptive suspension, but didn’t mention TPMS missing. The spec sheet says otherwise only on VX and Kakadu. Spec sheets can have errors. Are you able to please confirm if the Altitude does or doesn’t have TPMS?
you should be able to adjust the beeping sound volume or turn it off perhaps when you open the back door. Also the brightness of the display should automatically dim at night.
The reason it says LAND CRUISER in bigger letters on the back and a separate badge from the PRADO, is because in the USA this car will be called LAND CRUISER without the 'P' word.
I really like the 250 Land Cruiser. Here in Portugal and most of European countries, it's known only as the Land Cruiser, we never used the Prado naming.
The only thing I wouldn’t feel safe about it is rowing. Regardless of the number of gears, still got an underpowered hilux engine. Looking forward to see your review on the towing
Seen you with the 76 at Galleria when I was having a look at these new Prado’s! I know the RAV4 you can turn on “unlock all doors” and also adjust the boot beeper volume all in the settings on the cluster
You can usually adjust the lock system in the combo meter to open the entire system or just the driver. Alternatively, the car was stolen as the doors were being locked.
Can someone explain to me the practicality of 48V hybrid system. It doesn't propel vehicle just easier starting, any negligible fuel economy improvement would be outweighed by e the weight? and I lose 40 L fuel capacity.
Here in Norway, the 90, 120, 150 and now the 250, have always been named just Land Cruiser (not Prado). It's interesting how car manufacturers market their models different in parts of the world.
You can adjust the screen brightness. You can also configure it to switch between day and night (automatically senses and adjusts brightness down for night). You need to get to know your vehicle better, mate.
Was at my local Toyota dealer this morning. A few things to note: the 250 has a 12V battery - it's probably charged from the 48V unit but there's still a lump of lead-acid under the bonnet, and no obvious space for a second battery. The front badge on the Kakadu is the current Toyota logo; all other variants have TOYOTA (I'm not shouting) at the front. Standard tyres on Altitude are Toyo Open Country x-A/T 265/70R18 but I can't find any info on the "x-A/T" designation - could be an OEM-specific model.
in the us model you can lower brightness of with the dimming dial on bottom right (for you) buttons. mine was alright super bright, and the setting on screen did nothing. weird.
love to see a comparison with the 150 kakadu, still the best all round 4x4 for most people....shame not a bigger fuel tank, that could be a deal breaker for Australian remote driving
You say it can go to a 33 to 35 inch. But like my MR Triton, the second you go to a bigger tyre, you can't fit it where the spare wheel goes. Does the new Prado spare wheel well fit a bigger spare?
It is fiddly but you can disconnect the rear speaker that beeps when you open the rear door.. had to do it to my Fortuner Crusade, there are many videos on TH-cam.
Is it a real Land Cruiser? Time will tell. For now, I think the Australian version that you have with the diesel is more of a “Land Cruiser” than what we are getting in the U.S. for us the only way to get a 300 series is to buy an overpriced LX600. I’m currently very torn between the 250 and a used 200 series. And I am extremely excited to see what you do with this. Cheers from Washington State.

😂😂😂😂😂yeah right
towing reduces the adblue range SIGNIFICANTLY so be prepared!!!!
Does it? I wonder why it doesn't seem to make a difference on prime movers...
Just top it up like you top up your fuel 🤷♂️
Ad blue isn’t an issue. My Mercedes 4x4 has had it for 5 years. Never had an issue finding it or buying it.
Hahaha your kidding right, you are talking about Toyota here this engine will be around for another 20 years. Why would Hilux be any different
Landcruiser Prado - the most under rated, and excellent 4wd on the planet!
I'm looking forward for this series of your 250 LANDCRUISER PRADO
Excellent and useful advice and good presentation. Thank you
Awesome! I picked my Altitude up on Wednesday. Can't wait to see what to see what tips and mod ideas you share with us!
Thanks for sharing, you just reminded me to love my 100 TD Sahara that little bit more!
These look so cool! especially in that army blue...with rims and tyres, tough as.
i went to have a look at the seven seat VX yesterday.... sat in the front seat and it was fantastic.... feel of the new seats and comfort was great. asked to see the boot and the salesman apologised.... after opening up the rear door i could see why. the gaps between the seats and storage box are cavernous (7 seat)..... you could lose a small animal down there, (it is literally open) you can cover it with a rubber mat.... like my current GDJ150 (later shape). difference is the mat in my VX is for catching crap and saving the wear on the floor... in the new 250 it could be for covering up a turd which is the 22cm deep well that is the rear seats design. for a car that costs over $90k for the variant we were looking at... it was a 7 step walk away the 7 seat versions for mine. such a shame for a aesthetically pleasing vehicle for the most part.
Looking forward to this series...
As for the beep, you can get it coded out... The dealer might be able to help there
Good review especially from someone with loads of off road experience.
Thanks.
Congratulations brother. I just got mine last week and I love it.
There are easy fix for some of the problems you mentioned:
PLEASE. Dont cut any wire 😂😂
Enjoy
The best thing is Ronny said I can have this thing when he's done with it. Hey Ronny 😉 Just a carton what a steal
In terms of the locking mechanism of the door. You can change it in the system settings where when you put the car in park, all the doors unlock instead of only the driver’s door. Had the same issues on my LC300
Congrats Ronny !!
Looking forward for the future content 👍🏻
What’s your thoughts on the factory Snorkel/RAI? Is it truly functional for water crossings etc?
Lith ion battery will love water crossings.
you should be able to adjust the beeping sound volume or turn it off perhaps when you open the back door. Also the brightness of the display should automatically dim at night.
The reason it says LAND CRUISER in bigger letters on the back and a separate badge from the PRADO, is because in the USA this car will be called LAND CRUISER without the 'P' word.
Appreciate the review mate and looking forward to more!
Rear door beeper. If you can find the speaker put a bit of Gaffer tape on it. Will make it a lot quieter. Providing it has a normal speaker
I really like the 250 Land Cruiser. Here in Portugal and most of European countries, it's known only as the Land Cruiser, we never used the Prado naming.
Wow, who would have thought you’d do that. Another great video.
Nice Hilux.
Um, or Prado LC.
Top vid as usual, thanks.
I want to know if you can tap into that battery to Run 12v accessories. Mainly a fridge!
24v would be better for the fridge
There is probably a 12v step down somewhere
Just plug the fridge intro the supplied 220v outlet.
@@terrydennis467 they are run by the tiniest little inverters that you would be lucky to run anything on the outlet
Awesome snorkel(air intake) design😘 "Safari" time to bring in next generation R&D
This is going to be my next 4x4 forsure 👌 love the look of it
The only thing I wouldn’t feel safe about it is rowing.
Lucky bugger that you get even as good as 87 liters. the USDM one has a single 68 liter tank. 110 is fantastic, especially as a diesel.
You can usually adjust the lock system in the combo meter to open the entire system or just the driver. Alternatively, the car was stolen as the doors were being locked.
What can you do (4x4 wise) without voiding the warranty??
Regards r
Congrats on your minivan purchase.
Can someone explain to me the practicality of 48V hybrid system. It doesn't propel vehicle just easier starting, any negligible fuel economy improvement would be outweighed by e the weight? and I lose 40
L fuel capacity.
Is the running gear as strong as the 300? CVS, drive shaft etc.
I’ll find out soon mate
Addblue is the killer for me.
I've got the 48v rouge, so it will be interesting to see what related mods you'll do to your Prado.
Adblue isn’t a problem at all, seriously it is a non issue.
Great video mate. Keen for the next one!
I'm pretty sure you can change the door lock settings like on a 200 and silence the beep of the tailgate?
in the us model you can lower brightness of with the dimming dial on bottom right (for you) buttons. mine was alright super bright, and the setting on screen did nothing. weird.
love to see a comparison with the 150 kakadu, still the best all round 4x4 for most people....shame not a bigger fuel tank, that could be a deal breaker for Australian remote driving
You say it can go to a 33 to 35 inch. But like my MR Triton, the second you go to a bigger tyre, you can't fit it where the spare wheel goes.
Does the new Prado spare wheel well fit a bigger spare?
Well let’s find out 🤞
It is fiddly but you can disconnect the rear speaker that beeps when you open the rear door.. had to do it to my Fortuner Crusade, there are many videos on TH-cam.
Can you manually open the rear hatch? What if those electric motors fail while on tour, can you get to your food and water supplies?
Is it a real Land Cruiser? Time will tell.
For now, I think the Australian version that you have with the diesel is more of a “Land Cruiser” than what we are getting in the U.S.
for us the only way to get a 300 series is to buy an overpriced LX600.
I’m currently very torn between the 250 and a used 200 series.
And I am extremely excited to see what you do with this.
Cheers from Washington State.
We have the hybrid here in Canada. We are liking ours so far!
HI Ronny, there is +900 pages manual! And try to stick with a nerd to improve the LC software, you are not over with beeping stuff
