- The Mazda CX-30 has remained a left-field choice in the Malaysian compact crossover space since its introduction, on account of its slightly-premium positioning on the market. That didn't detract from its positives though, like excellent ride & handling, a fantastically-built interior, and comprehensive specifications. However, after lengthy delays, local distributor BERMAZ has finally managed to get the CX-30's local-assembly plans on track and has brought to market the revised, and more affordable CX-30 CKD to market.
With a simplified lineup, one engine option and a significantly-reduced price, we take the Mazda CX-30 CKD out for a full review to see if anything has been lost in translation.

We have a base model Pure here in Australia as our running around car. The car is filled with features (including heads up display) and its fit and finish feels premium. The drive is quiet and handling is sharp. My only complaint about this car is the size of its windows. They are high and small, making it really difficult to reach the machine (grabbing a ticket on entry and then making payment at exit) at the entrance of a carpark.
I agree with you Aiman. This car feels very upmarket, like a Merc or BMW without the expensive price tag.

Excellent and spot on review Aiman! the CX30 does offer more value compared to HRV and Cross. And i did not regret getting the CX30. Initially was about to buy the HRV but when i compared the specs for the price i was about to pay, CX30 trumps HRV.
Power=Honda
Comfort n space=Toyota
Quality n driving dynamics=Mazda

i mean it is priced very close to the cx5 with the same engine/gearbox combo,with a bit more interior space and fully independent suspension

Until Mazda redesign their center console with decent display for map, Apple car play, android TH-cam etc etc .I'm not goin near Mazda
You get navigation info displayed on the screen from the brilliant heads up display.
Mazda made designed the infotainment that way as they believe it's safer for the driver to have less distractions.
Just let us know what car you will be getting, so we can stay clear. ...'if you're watching TH-cam whilst driving 😂
