  • Here you go guys and girls, the typical fuel consumption figures you would get driving the locally-assembled Mazda CX30 under typical traffic conditions.
    We are quite impressed with the result, considerimg that this is a 2.0 liter engine and the weight of the CX30 is 1.43 tons.
    Yes, we also sell the Mazda range of vehicles through our channel; to make your booking, go to shop.yskhongdriving.com

    I just returned from Sydney in my cx8 2.5 LITRE NA. We clocked 405km with 33.0 litres that's approximately 12km a litre. Failed to run Sydney Melbourne 870km in under one tank of 74 litres with a full load of 4 adults, plus a full load of cargo.

    • @YSKhongDriving
      @YSKhongDriving  ปีที่แล้ว

      With a heavy load, consumption does suffer a bit.

    Proud owner of CX30 here. Been comparing with Corolla Cross & HRV. Even though these 2 have a bigger legroom, but in terms of design, interior quality, handling, ride comfort and NVH, CX30 far more ahead.

    Very Impressive for a heavy 2.0L car. What was the tire pressure at? My Jazz only gets about 12-13km/l average city and housing area drive, very little highway. I can get 15-16km/l if I pump 250kpa instead of recommended 230kpa for tires but it is too hard and bumpy.

    • @YSKhongDriving

    Everyone knows Hybrid is the most fuel efficient engine there is. There isn't any more advancement you can do to combustion engine to make it be any more efficient as it already is. Variable cams, more powerful spark, piston shut off, engine shut off, turbo, supercharger, GDI, new alum/aloy/titanium engine parts, composite engine parts. We done it all. Adding electrical drive from wasted engine power is the best solution for combustion engines.

    • @fktaufik9252
      @fktaufik9252 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      i can see 3 things mazda can do to further improve their engine.
      1 - use pre chamber ignition = higher compression ratio.maybe can go upward 15-18 : 1
      2 - use valvetronic = 100 - 110% volumetric efficiency. 0 pumping losses.
      3 - use ZF tranny = whenever a gear engaged , only 2 gears spinning along instead of spinning all sets of gear altogether.
      once done, then we can see ultimate ICE for maximum fuel efficiency !

      Hybrid for city drive okay, but long journey highway drive became a liability. Regardless of its technology like Skyactiv, ultimately this Mazda is a 2.0L. Is there a way to have fuel consumption of low cc car like 1.2L while having high torque at low rpm, for example 230Nm at 1750rpm, so powerful that C segment SUV and van also use this 1.2L, I think there is.

    Looking to change my old Civic FB. Considering the CX30 as a replacement, test drove the car and found the engine noise a bit loud compared to my old Civic, I'm guessing this is due to the high compression ratio. Did not drive it on the highway though, but is torque readily available for an overtake?

    Big fail on mazda side. They've stripped the cars of all that made them mazda just to save some imaginary litres. My 20 year old 2.0NA Audi burns no more than 7.5l/100km at any speed under 130kph.

    • @YSKhongDriving
      @YSKhongDriving  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I think the fuel economy was not achieved at the expense of stripping away features to save weight, although weight saving is one of the ways. It was the SKYATIV trchnology in the engine design, which runs a 13:1 compression ratio, amd the SKYACTIV transmission which is xompact, and has a lockup system that operates from as low as 8 kmh onwards to eliminate slip and the i.e.loop that contribute towards better overall fuel consumption, plus diligent use of high tensile steel in the right places to save weight that all work together, so it is rather unfair for you to make a sweeping statement that may confuse other viewers.

      @@YSKhongDriving Mazda asks almost 40k for this car that has torsion beam suspension, stamped control arms, hardly gives 7l/100km, not very fast(non-turbocharged version), simple mcpherson front suspension, not a very dynamic car. The fact that you have to nurse the car to get anywhere near 7l/100km tells you where Mazda have arrived. Don't get me wrong, I love Mazda, my favorite brand, but for less than 40k I can get golf GTI, the new Honda Civic, Audi A3&A4, toyota corolla, Skoda Octavia, Seat leon for the same amount or even less... I'd say Mazda 3 is a great car only if it was 20k-25k instead of nearly 40k. It might sound unfair, but that's purely my unbiased opinion.
