15:08 is what stuck for me. I was so hyped for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. Genuinely really great games. And then I went online and didn't want to play it. The cheaters make you not even want to play them.
No, i want my 200 hours into Scarlet and Violet back. Besides the graphical style, which i actually appreciated (the way they handled each model) The story was bad, the performance was bad, and overall the mons were lackluster. Their games need true evolution, heck even a revolution to get back into the game after Palworld.
I think it’s too early to say Palworld is a Pokemon killer but I’d rather Palworld and Pokemon to vibe off each other like Star Trek did with Star Wars. It was Star Wars that allowed Star Trek to revive itself with sci-fi movies. So I want Palworld to bring Pokemon back and we stop getting stupid looking Pokemon. I feel Pokemon needs a game based on improving mechanics and that probably would help Pokemon a lot

I see 3 major issues with Pokémon atm: 1. Cheaters in VGC (Obviously) 2. The greedy behavior of adults around the TCG (Remember McDonalds and the Van Gough Museum) 3. The distribution of the anime in the US. I don’t know what’s going on with Horizons and Netflix, but the episode gap between the Japanese and English releases are ridiculous. I feel like these issues just turn off existing fans and contribute to the failure to capture new fans.
I agree but how could you blame people when tcg can make you cash. Everyone needs cash. It’s an unavoidable situation as long as the cards are worth money.
i saw some pictures of the devs with a deck of palworld cardgame. dunno if they plan to release it or if it was just some kind of a joke to them, but the image was pretty real... maybe they are holding it just in case
Oh I hope not. Model kits would be cool, but if PalWorld goes Mascot Franchise the way Pokémon did, we'll see a bloated PokéDex 2.0 and the same drop in quality with the games all over again. Games First and foremost.

I live in Japan and Pokemon is still very popular with kids here. Mainly kindergarteners up to elementary school kids. Surprisingly a lot of kids here know about palworld and are interested in it
Yeah, some Pals do look like pokemon, but that's like 6-7, out of 110 Pals. Some Pal designs are really great, top tier stuff, like shadowbeak, ragnahawk, faleris, quivern and chillet. As to why play Palworld? It offers a COMPLETELY different style of game. Survival, open world, crafting, real time combat AND monster collecting, that's what palworld offers in a single 30 dollar game, pokemons offers monster collecting and turn based combat, for 70+70+35 DOLLARS. That's it. I've been a pokemon fan since 1999, so I've literally lived through the whole existance of pokemon, and the quality drop after black and white was tangible, they were the peak of quality and game design for pokemon, and that was over a decade ago.
In my personal opinion, I don't think this is a "Pokemon killer". Not even close, because its really not a Pokemon game, that would be something more akin to Casette Beasts. But I do think that Palworld and Pokemon can absolutely co exist easily. It has its fair share of flaws, and its still in Early Access, it is literally not finished yet, but Palworld is pretty much its own bizarre unique thing that does its own gimmicks and niche. The whole game feels like an elaborate unhinged shitpost and I am absolutely here for it. And I don't care what anyone says about the designs. If nobodys gonna call the many Souls likes out there as ripoffs of the Souls games (Mortal Shell is really similar to Dark Souls to the point I actually wasn't aware Mortal Shell wasn't a Fromsoft game), this ain't a Pokemon ripoff. Plus, as you mentioned, there is an astounding amount of care and thought put into the Pal designs that have intrigued me more than the last several gens of Pokemon designs. Daedream, Cawgnito, Dazzi, and Flopie are my favorite designs right now.
Palworld is a Monster Capture contender. Healthy competition is always good for any market or business: if two people have to fight for your money and attention, the one with the best deal wins. Palworld only a Pokémon killer if Game Freak doesn’t learn from themselves, Palworld, or any other Monster Capture game on how to improve their games.

@@Aigle662frileux finaly the realistic take, after a franchise becomes as big as pokemon is, it is only itself that can actualy "kill" it off with missmanagment. Best example of franchise doing exactly that atm, is star wars, all just complete incompetence, political pandering and missmanagment of epic proportions. And even then it's a slow burn of a "death", that even then "can" be salvaged, (at least the extended universe)
I felt destroyed when I saw the origin forms for Dialga and Palkia as that meant that they were now cannon and there is no way to fix it. Palworld is good for Pokémon since it’ll make the devs have to step it up even more and deliver more awesome stories and gameplay. It’s a win win for everyone but Pokémon community would have you believe otherwise.
Ok now I see it. This is going to encourage pkmn devs to enhance their creativity. I was worried about the platform longevity. I like the use of “canon” pertaining to pkmn forms in this statement.
No it isn't its not even similar to pokemon other than throwing balls, they didn't finish craftopia I have zero hope for this game, nor is it going to kill a 20+ year franchise with a serious competitive scene. It's probably going to cap out at about 15 mil copies the last pokemon sold 23 million copies. Pokemons gonna be around for a long time still.
I can empathize with you all. If you're in Tristate, there are a few gaming cafes to help get your fix. Not nearly as many hours as playing on your own laptop, but it can stave off the hunger to play
To me if some of the people that quit pokemon stay gone no big loss, they bitch about everything. I stopped taking their criticisms seriously with Scarlet and Violet when they took the scene when you make a sandwich out of context. I'm enjoying Palworld because I want to get back at that level 35 Mammoth motherfucker that raid my base. I'll be honest the survival stuff can be overwhelming.

I highly doubt its a pokemon killer. Also lets be real here. Because its mostly PC based, there is definitely going to be cheaters in Palworld too. Also I dont think Palworld is even really "filling" the gap for pokemon players. Yes there are a lot of pokemon players playing the game but Id guess no more than 25-30% of the player base. Palworld is picking up momentum with a whole bunch of OTHER players. And thats because Palworld is a completely different game then Pokemon. The only real similarities are similar designs in monsters only, and the ability to catch said monsters. If you simply took the design aspect of the mons out, it would not feel like pokemon game at all. Now I do think it does things good that Pokemon needs to take notes on. I do hope this drives the Pokemon company to do better because honestly it realistically wouldnt take much for them to over shadow Palworld. SV was already a pretty good game. Just make the next one glitch free, and add some of the elements of Palworld, crack down on cheating more, and done.
Maybe it’s irony I’m remembering this now but most of these mechanics besides Camp building and the amazing breeding mechanic can be found in Pokémon Legends-Stealth, Free aim for capturing, Material gathering, Crafting with materials Most of those you said were terrible or tedious in some regard So why are you enjoying them now
I won’t disagree with the curiosity. But many of the mechanics introduced into Legends Arceus were also found in New Snap, a game Verlis liked. Which game am I describing: You spend the game revisiting the linear areas, doing multiple things to complete individual PokéDex entries, increase your rank by your Dex progress, point and click to interact without battling, and the boss of each area is a large glowing Pokémon that may or may not have a puzzle in how to interact with it. I called Legends the Let’s Go for Snap mechanics instead of Go.
Unfortunately the crafting aspect of Pokémon Legends and PalWorld are on completely different levels. You’re comparing item crafting and collecting materials to actual base building and crafting things from equipment to weapons, to capture tools AND furniture, construction tools, harvest tools, shields, firearms, equipment for your Palmons. Pokémon Legends had nothing like that. I have just recently (like a week ago) revisited Legends and its crafting system was very barebones. Pokémon is very “user-friendly” in the sense that they hand feed you everything. Nothing in PalWorld is given to you. You have to work for everything and that’s where the time difference in investment comes from. Yet, you still have the catching and training aspect of your Palmons that Pokémon has.
It has been that way forever. Each pokemon generation only has maybe a dozen good looking mons, usually only the legends, starters, and a few standouts in the middle.
Pokemon about to try and drop a million "new" Pokemon in every design just so the cry babies can say its copied. LMAO. If people don't think every game took inspirations from others, are delusional.

I think we are just outgrowing pokemon at this point. The series doesn't seem like its going anywhere considering its only major change was open world, but even that has limits.

Until Gamefreak implements an anti cheat server like mobile/competitive games banning players for the use of genning pkmn isn't gong to happen sadly. The company itself is behind on standard content and performance. Palworld should be a wake up call to them if anything.
It's sad, but good too, that monster catching game with guns is more creative with their designs than current Pokemon. I LOVE that Anubis design and want something like that for Lucario, maybe an evolution or form or just a new Pokemon that in the region it appears people compare to Lucario. Thank you for this.
I really do not like people who diss on Palworlds designs and claim there is no originiality. Palworld has a fair share of genuinely well done designs that I find very remarkable and can stand on their own feet. Personal examples are Cawgnito, Dazzi, Mossanda, Kingpaca, Daedream, and Flopie. They have such remarkably eye catching designs and its a crying shame at how they get dismissed.
I think with enough time, all internet-based hobby "communities" turn to absolute trash, but the Pokemon fans are some of the most deranged people online. They're at least on par with the smash community, general esports fans, etc.
I cant wait to try Palworld when I get a chance. I can definitely see it pulling a lot of the unhappy Pokemon audience away from Pokemon for good. Cassette Beasts is another masterpiece indie game that improved upon the battle mechanics and had a far more interesting story than Pokemon, so I could see that growing into a competitive franchise as well, but I dont think the devs intend to focus on Cassette Beasts as a franchise and it didnt take off like Palworld did unfortunately.
And I also do not know what the problem with Pokemon fans is. I personally know people that play both Palworld while enjoying it and also playing the Pokemon franchise for what it is. How is that even possible in a world where everything needs to be in clear black and white?
As someone that grow with the first 5 generations and came back for Pokemon GO I can agree that the pokemon fan community is one of the things that drives me off the most, my usual friends dont care much about the games and only joined me for GO for like a month, and if I talk to people online they turn everything into drama and try hard-gatekeeping stuff, I like most of the mechanics or at least have adapted to them but the pokemon community has very strict ideas of how to play, I just like to experience the ones that catch my attention the most.
I must disagree on the claim that the pokemon community is the most toxic. The most toxic community is by far the smash fandom. Why? Well, bring together the worst part of multiple different fandoms, throw in a huge dose of misdirected passion and you got one of the most sensitive communities who think that not liking a character is an attack on them and their family.
My nieces and nephew LOVED the pokemon anime but when i tried showing them the games like Shield, they got bored with it REALLY QUICKLY. For one they had to read the dialogue, no kid wants to read dialogue to an RPG trust me. Next because there was so much story and hand holding they asked me if i had any other games to play. Thankfully i had some mario games, because Pokemon games just aren't appealing to a lot of kids because of how standards have been raised now. If pokemon had Voice actors and animated the games like they did the anime the games would sell out, digital sales would be through the roof. But they won't because their lazy and cheap with the series now.
Game Freak is objectively not lazy and cheap with the series. Voice acting isn't necessary and I would personally hate it, I do not find VO interesting and just mash through it. With voice acting you are also stuck if a character is a miss or giving a poor performance. Testing in game development shows that players need the dialogue especially for a kids game or they get lost and disinterested in the game anyways.
@@Verlisify While what some of what you say is true i'm talking about modern day children in trying to connect with a video game. It's hard enough to sell kids on certain games ESPECIALLY rpgs which are TEXT HEAVY games. The only reason a lot of kids get into the games is thanks to their parents and the Anime but when the kids see the games aren't like the Anime they get disinterested in it. Which is why i think there should be Voice Acting in a Modern pokemon game, ESPECIALLY for kids! Kids don't read the text a lot of the time, they LISTEN and Watch the characters. They see the personalities of the pokemon and Apply it to their imagination for the games. Lets face it, the Animes played a HUGE ROLE in getting people to enjoy the games because we applied our knowledge form the anime to the games to make it more interesting. As it is, pokemon in the games aren't as expressive or as emoting as the Anime. So thats why Gamefreak needs to make the games more like the Anime otherwise this franchise is gonna slowly die out.
You don't seem to understand these things are tested for. Also there are going to be cultural differences. Its not any developers responsibility to cater to kids with no attention span and Pokemon beating almost every AAA title in sales shows thats good development practice. Without text kids get distracted and lost so they quit anyway as stated in interviews. You can't win with kids these days since they are fried from tik tok and smartphones.

Pokémon is far too big to fall. I see palworld as one of those new franchises that's there to compete against others until a few years later, people will slowly stop talking about it and move on with something else.
Not to mention, where was this similar controversy about palworld when Digimon, Monster Rancher, Jade Cacoon, Neo Pets, Yo-Kai Watch and Nexomon came into existence.
Pokémon Company have gotten complacent. There is no doubt about that. Although, I’m too far deep and I’ll be buying more Pokémon games. But I will be checking out Palworld later on just to see how it goes
Well, my 14 year old niece will always be a fellow Pokémon fan for life. 😂 I love Pokémon, have loved it since gen 1, but it's definitely been lackluster in terms of gameplay for years. It's kind of why I latched on to Palworld recently.
Paul world is more rated R Pokémon, but it gives people what they want, if Pokémon was more like the cartoon😮 we would be able to explore at our own pace, and find secret treasures, eggs, and interesting side events. Basically if they made an open world Pokémon game that wasn’t split into two versions just one version with all Pokémon, but everyone plays it and they can encounter different things not everyone plays the same. That’s a good diversity.
Where is all the blood, cursing, and nudity? I've been looking all around for it since I started playing Palworld. So far it's been unfortunately PG-13 at worst

Game Freak is going to have to at the very least take notice of just how popular Palworld has become. The game is gaining numbers like crazy. But I think this can only really be a good thing for Game Freak. For the longest time they didn't have much competition, but now they do. As for the VGC side of things, at this point, they need to just do a hard reset. Just get rid of the old guard, and crack down harder on hacking.

I have to disagree on the newer pokemon designs being bad because I actually like them (especially zeraora), but I definitely agree with the Palworld being unironically more fun than the actual pokemon games (though that is probably because I play the PMD games anyway). As for Minecraft, I unironically think newer Minecraft is horrendous and Mojang is making it even worse by not actually fixing bugs that has LITERALLY PERSISTED FOR DECADES. As a Minecraft veteran that has played so many older versions of Minecraft, I think that older Minecraft versions are the best and I still play in the Alpha Minecraft versions and Alpha Minecraft mods specifically for that reason. (Not to mention that Alpha and Beta Minecraft are free compared to the "official release" anyway, so it is a win-win situation for me.)

Pokemon has been stale for a very long time. Don't get me wrong i used to absolutely love Pokemon but I have never seen a lazier developer than gamefreak. Also the idea that palworld is copying Pokemon is goofy considering gen1 Pokemon is copy/paste dragonquest. Palworld gave us what we wanted from Pokemon.
I seriously doubt this will pose a threat to Pokemon. Everytime something new comes out people are always quick to assume it'll kill the previous franchise, yet it never happens. This won't last long either.

These are titans that will always be living at the top untill thier creators stop making them. Also there have been challengers agianst pokemon so you can say they werent. As someone who is a Sonic Fan I did not believe that there was another fan base that could be more toxic... until now. Also I really liked Legends of Arceus it was more of what I was wanting in a pokemon game, yes it was buggy but I think it was a step in the right direction (just my opinion).

I think also people are enjoying the nostalgia of playing a game like this. The core gameplay is super solid and fun, but it has some hilarious glitches and bugs that you can laugh about and enjoy with your friends. Reminds me of the early 2000s days when you and your friend would find some super funny bug in windwaker or something but still love the game
never was that into pokemon, i was more like a digimon kid but this palworld game its AMAZING i mean, IT HAVE SOMETHING i like that...i dont know exactly what, but is that thing pokemon does not have i mean, the joy of seeing your pals helping and following you, and they are more interesting to me like, i never tough to buy a pokemon... i dunno anything related u know but i would LOVE some palworld plushies, like the depresso or lamb thing haha :V it feels like a "pokemon for all ages", instead of what i felt with pokemon wich is "its just for or must for kids"
For example, if we had a open world, Pokémon game that was big like legend of Zelda, with all the environments and regions are the same but depending on the person and how they play, you can encounter different scenarios, and Pokémon may appear more frequently or less often 😮 someone may even find a high-level or very rare Pokémon, or even an egg, and it turns out to be something later on in your journey maybe even a legendary depending on your play style things will take shape and take route
pokemon has fallen off hard. it's only a fucking embarrassment now. the massive pokemon bubble is popping. like the 08 housing market bubble. i hope other major shit franchises we grew up with pop too. like gta and nfs. my biggest regret in life is that i don't have the money or skill to take them down with a better experience first. i'm trying with small games first, but it's been over 2 years since i started funding my first game. it's hard trying to make a game company on a retail paycheck. i have my entire game roster completely planned out for 15 years though. 1 big interconnected world through very different periods of time, with effects felt from previous game's events. and they're all different genres. got a open world crime and racing game. then a military war game. then a nuclear zombie apocalypse survival game. then a monster catching/raising adventure game. all pc exclusive (cuz consoles are picky and dead) and infinitely updated, never abandoned, so your online memories never get lost to a shut down void. no greedy shit. earn your rewards instead of buying them. no day 1 patch. released fully completed. full mod support. full community interaction. treating employees like actual human beings. etc. i can't fucking wait to shake the current gaming world. either AAA games ditch the shareholders and make true passionate games again thanks to my competition, or their bubble pops and i buy them out and i fix their shit back to what i remember growing up with. everybody wins! :D... just gotta get this first game released though, then let the snowball start rolling. in case anyone's gonna ask. my first game is based on the giant truck chase sequence from sonic adventure/generations, but with customizable cars instead of sonic. survive as long as you can, avoid traffic and the truck's weapons, unlock vehicles and upgrades, get the highest score on the leaderboard. nice and simple. next small game is gonna be a night drag racing game based on nfs ug2's city drag tracks with the nfs prostreet burnout mechanic. these first two small games will probably have some whale hunting greedy stuff in it for the sake of kickstarting the greater good goal of making huge games, otherwise my huge ambitions will never be reached in my lifetime which is already sailing on by at an alarming and depressing rate lol. i'll be transparent with the early greed though. with warning that it won't get them any advantage over players. just skipping some grind and unlocking stuff themselves, and that at the end of all there is in the game, everyone will be on equal footing with only skill between them. i won't take any pleasure in whale hunting to get started. but that's the gaming environment we live in at the moment so i might as well use a bit of it to fund a righteous purpose in bringing back the golden era of gaming. :p if only i could just find some rich gamer who's sick of the way things are now to fund me so i can just skip straight to the good stuff. (don't suggest gofundme or kickstarter, i already tried. that shit's like trying to win the lottery, especially since already rich people just pay their way to the top of the page)
Palworld had blown me away, the sheer amount of care they have put in to there game is crazy, in this day and age im so use to games charging a huge price for a game thats glitchey and broken at launch and hardly any content, then palworld is showing these big gaming company's the way forward😂❤

What really ends up happening is the game is forgotten within a year and the titan will still be standing at the top. This is an endless cycle. Happened with wow multiple times, pokemon has had this multiple times, mtg has had this multiple times. They are all still at the top. This will be no different. While palworld is a nice game. It will not make a titan collapse.
For me why it's a Pokemon killer is because it just goes to show that these people had a very limited budget and limited knowledge and accessibility compared to a giant corporation like like Nintendo. It goes to show that the Pokemon company has been delivering copypasta garbage for years and and have not been worth the price tag
History proves you are wrong. Titans dont have killers. WoW had how many "WoW killers" in its time. hundreds. Magic the gathering had "Magic killers" while yugioh and pokemon tcg are doing great, Magic is still at the top. Pokemon is no different in its genre of game. You cant kill a titan unless it wants to be killed and that only happens if the company stops making it. This game will vanish before the year is up just like every other "killer"
The main reason the pals seem so agreeable is the organic emotions they display as they undertake various tasks (especially given the Palworld open world design).

I haven't heard of kingnappy for a long time, i watched their vids a bit during X/Y and PokemonGo lol, ik he liked gengar a lot, tho i don't keep up with any poketubers.. i'm thinking of that one girl who dressed as pikachu tamachi i think and many others xd but I keep up with gaming news in general not just pokemon.. i didn't know those allegations and i looked at their channel & damn lol. oh well. Pokemon really needs to step up their game, have competition, and not produce crap. I never considered Digimon or Yugioh as direct competitors.. they have monster keeping in common and stuff, but no.
I still hold pokemon dear to me, I played red version repeatedly on a hand me down gameboy color until I saved and got a 3ds and X. Now you got the new speak of genned mons that are different than hacked mons because no sturdy shedinja. I was one of the few psychos that played through the battle chateau, tree, etc since it was basically a solo game to me, I've done pvp some but why get stomped repeatedly by the hacked in perfect shiny teams in a volatile meta when I can get stomped a few times against some tough opponents but eventually brute my way through with my favorites? I think GFs phoning it in because of the rampant toxicity and cheating.
To think PalWorld servers have been leagues better than Pokemon single player offline games. lol Personally even on our 10 player server its been fine. This game is only going to grow. Cant wait. Love this game. Straight facts though. Pokemon is being held up from its 30 year old fans base.

15:08 is what stuck for me. I was so hyped for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. Genuinely really great games. And then I went online and didn't want to play it. The cheaters make you not even want to play them.
No, i want my 200 hours into Scarlet and Violet back. Besides the graphical style, which i actually appreciated (the way they handled each model) The story was bad, the performance was bad, and overall the mons were lackluster. Their games need true evolution, heck even a revolution to get back into the game after Palworld.
I think it’s too early to say Palworld is a Pokemon killer but I’d rather Palworld and Pokemon to vibe off each other like Star Trek did with Star Wars. It was Star Wars that allowed Star Trek to revive itself with sci-fi movies. So I want Palworld to bring Pokemon back and we stop getting stupid looking Pokemon. I feel Pokemon needs a game based on improving mechanics and that probably would help Pokemon a lot

I see 3 major issues with Pokémon atm:
1. Cheaters in VGC (Obviously)
2. The greedy behavior of adults around the TCG (Remember McDonalds and the Van Gough Museum)
3. The distribution of the anime in the US. I don’t know what’s going on with Horizons and Netflix, but the episode gap between the Japanese and English releases are ridiculous.
I feel like these issues just turn off existing fans and contribute to the failure to capture new fans.

I live in Japan and Pokemon is still very popular with kids here. Mainly kindergarteners up to elementary school kids. Surprisingly a lot of kids here know about palworld and are interested in it
Yeah, some Pals do look like pokemon, but that's like 6-7, out of 110 Pals. Some Pal designs are really great, top tier stuff, like shadowbeak, ragnahawk, faleris, quivern and chillet.
As to why play Palworld? It offers a COMPLETELY different style of game. Survival, open world, crafting, real time combat AND monster collecting, that's what palworld offers in a single 30 dollar game, pokemons offers monster collecting and turn based combat, for 70+70+35 DOLLARS. That's it.
I've been a pokemon fan since 1999, so I've literally lived through the whole existance of pokemon, and the quality drop after black and white was tangible, they were the peak of quality and game design for pokemon, and that was over a decade ago.
In my personal opinion, I don't think this is a "Pokemon killer". Not even close, because its really not a Pokemon game, that would be something more akin to Casette Beasts.
But I do think that Palworld and Pokemon can absolutely co exist easily. It has its fair share of flaws, and its still in Early Access, it is literally not finished yet, but Palworld is pretty much its own bizarre unique thing that does its own gimmicks and niche. The whole game feels like an elaborate unhinged shitpost and I am absolutely here for it.
And I don't care what anyone says about the designs. If nobodys gonna call the many Souls likes out there as ripoffs of the Souls games (Mortal Shell is really similar to Dark Souls to the point I actually wasn't aware Mortal Shell wasn't a Fromsoft game), this ain't a Pokemon ripoff. Plus, as you mentioned, there is an astounding amount of care and thought put into the Pal designs that have intrigued me more than the last several gens of Pokemon designs. Daedream, Cawgnito, Dazzi, and Flopie are my favorite designs right now.

Pokémon will not change their course, and we will continue to get half baked games that are never quite patched to a steady playable quality. They’ll see it as “people don’t care about loading screens, assets like NPCs taking 30 seconds to load in, frame rate, overworld texture quality…” and continue to make subpar games with mediocre stories supported by having Nostalgia, Pikachu, and Charizard.
But if Palworld has staying power, then I’m right. Due to how different the games are, people will still buy both Pokémon and Palworld. But Game Freak will feel the pressure of fans not spending as much time on their games, and maybe some dropping because Pokémon can’t make a stable game with fast loading times.

I felt destroyed when I saw the origin forms for Dialga and Palkia as that meant that they were now cannon and there is no way to fix it. Palworld is good for Pokémon since it’ll make the devs have to step it up even more and deliver more awesome stories and gameplay. It’s a win win for everyone but Pokémon community would have you believe otherwise.

I highly doubt its a pokemon killer. Also lets be real here. Because its mostly PC based, there is definitely going to be cheaters in Palworld too. Also I dont think Palworld is even really "filling" the gap for pokemon players. Yes there are a lot of pokemon players playing the game but Id guess no more than 25-30% of the player base. Palworld is picking up momentum with a whole bunch of OTHER players. And thats because Palworld is a completely different game then Pokemon. The only real similarities are similar designs in monsters only, and the ability to catch said monsters. If you simply took the design aspect of the mons out, it would not feel like pokemon game at all. Now I do think it does things good that Pokemon needs to take notes on. I do hope this drives the Pokemon company to do better because honestly it realistically wouldnt take much for them to over shadow Palworld. SV was already a pretty good game. Just make the next one glitch free, and add some of the elements of Palworld, crack down on cheating more, and done.

You spend the game revisiting the linear areas, doing multiple things to complete individual PokéDex entries, increase your rank by your Dex progress, point and click to interact without battling, and the boss of each area is a large glowing Pokémon that may or may not have a puzzle in how to interact with it.

Unfortunately the crafting aspect of Pokémon Legends and PalWorld are on completely different levels. You’re comparing item crafting and collecting materials to actual base building and crafting things from equipment to weapons, to capture tools AND furniture, construction tools, harvest tools, shields, firearms, equipment for your Palmons. Pokémon Legends had nothing like that. I have just recently (like a week ago) revisited Legends and its crafting system was very barebones. Pokémon is very “user-friendly” in the sense that they hand feed you everything. Nothing in PalWorld is given to you. You have to work for everything and that’s where the time difference in investment comes from. Yet, you still have the catching and training aspect of your Palmons that Pokémon has.
Legends' crafting system was crap compared to Palworld. Also, there was no breeding in Legends Arceus.
Palworld’s crafting is rewarding. PLA’s is such a chore and not as rewarding
It has been that way forever. Each pokemon generation only has maybe a dozen good looking mons, usually only the legends, starters, and a few standouts in the middle.

Until Gamefreak implements an anti cheat server like mobile/competitive games banning players for the use of genning pkmn isn't gong to happen sadly. It's sad, but good too, that monster catching game with guns is more creative with their designs than current Pokemon. I LOVE that Anubis design and want something like that for Lucario, maybe an evolution or form or just a new Pokemon that in the region it appears people compare to Lucario. Thank you for this.

Palworld has a fair share of genuinely well done designs that I find very remarkable and can stand on their own feet. Personal examples are Cawgnito, Dazzi, Mossanda, Kingpaca, Daedream, and Flopie. They have such remarkably eye catching designs and its a crying shame at how they get dismissed.

Cassette Beasts is another masterpiece indie game that improved upon the battle mechanics and had a far more interesting story than Pokemon, so I could see that growing into a competitive franchise as well, but I dont think the devs intend to focus on Cassette Beasts as a franchise and it didnt take off like Palworld did unfortunately.
And I also do not know what the problem with Pokemon fans is. I personally know people that play both Palworld while enjoying it and also playing the Pokemon franchise for what it is. How is that even possible in a world where everything needs to be in clear black and white?
As someone that grow with the first 5 generations and came back for Pokemon GO I can agree that the pokemon fan community is one of the things that drives me off the most, my usual friends dont care much about the games and only joined me for GO for like a month, and if I talk to people online they turn everything into drama and try hard-gatekeeping stuff, I like most of the mechanics or at least have adapted to them but the pokemon community has very strict ideas of how to play, I just like to experience the ones that catch my attention the most.
I must disagree on the claim that the pokemon community is the most toxic. The most toxic community is by far the smash fandom. Why? Well, bring together the worst part of multiple different fandoms, throw in a huge dose of misdirected passion and you got one of the most sensitive communities who think that not liking a character is an attack on them and their family.

My nieces and nephew LOVED the pokemon anime but when i tried showing them the games like Shield, they got bored with it REALLY QUICKLY. For one they had to read the dialogue, no kid wants to read dialogue to an RPG trust me. Next because there was so much story and hand holding they asked me if i had any other games to play. Thankfully i had some mario games, because Pokemon games just aren't appealing to a lot of kids because of how standards have been raised now. If pokemon had Voice actors and animated the games like they did the anime the games would sell out, digital sales would be through the roof. But they won't because their lazy and cheap with the series now.
Game Freak is objectively not lazy and cheap with the series. Voice acting isn't necessary and I would personally hate it, I do not find VO interesting and just mash through it. With voice acting you are also stuck if a character is a miss or giving a poor performance. Testing in game development shows that players need the dialogue especially for a kids game or they get lost and disinterested in the game anyways.

It's hard enough to sell kids on certain games ESPECIALLY rpgs which are TEXT HEAVY games. The only reason a lot of kids get into the games is thanks to their parents and the Anime but when the kids see the games aren't like the Anime they get disinterested in it. Which is why i think there should be Voice Acting in a Modern pokemon game, ESPECIALLY for kids! Kids don't read the text a lot of the time, they LISTEN and Watch the characters. They see the personalities of the pokemon and Apply it to their imagination for the games. Lets face it, the Animes played a HUGE ROLE in getting people to enjoy the games because we applied our knowledge form the anime to the games to make it more interesting. As it is, pokemon in the games aren't as expressive or as emoting as the Anime. So thats why Gamefreak needs to make the games more like the Anime otherwise this franchise is gonna slowly die out.
You don't seem to understand these things are tested for. Also there are going to be cultural differences. Its not any developers responsibility to cater to kids with no attention span and Pokemon beating almost every AAA title in sales shows thats good development practice. Without text kids get distracted and lost so they quit anyway as stated in interviews. You can't win with kids these days since they are fried from tik tok and smartphones.

Paul world is more rated R Pokémon, but it gives people what they want, if Pokémon was more like the cartoon😮 we would be able to explore at our own pace, and find secret treasures, eggs, and interesting side events. Basically if they made an open world Pokémon game that wasn’t split into two versions just one version with all Pokémon, but everyone plays it and they can encounter different things not everyone plays the same. That’s a good diversity.

But I think this can only really be a good thing for Game Freak. For the longest time they didn't have much competition, but now they do. I have to disagree on the newer pokemon designs being bad because I actually like them (especially zeraora), but I definitely agree with the Palworld being unironically more fun than the actual pokemon games (though that is probably because I play the PMD games anyway).
As for Minecraft, I unironically think newer Minecraft is horrendous and Mojang is making it even worse by not actually fixing bugs that has LITERALLY PERSISTED FOR DECADES. As a Minecraft veteran that has played so many older versions of Minecraft, I think that older Minecraft versions are the best and I still play in the Alpha Minecraft versions and Alpha Minecraft mods specifically for that reason. (Not to mention that Alpha and Beta Minecraft are free compared to the "official release" anyway, so it is a win-win situation for me.)

Pokemon has been stale for a very long time. Don't get me wrong i used to absolutely love Pokemon but I have never seen a lazier developer than gamefreak. Also the idea that palworld is copying Pokemon is goofy considering gen1 Pokemon is copy/paste dragonquest. Palworld gave us what we wanted from Pokemon.

As someone who is a Sonic Fan I did not believe that there was another fan base that could be more toxic... until now. Also I really liked Legends of Arceus it was more of what I was wanting in a pokemon game, yes it was buggy but I think it was a step in the right direction (just my opinion).

I think also people are enjoying the nostalgia of playing a game like this. The core gameplay is super solid and fun, but it has some hilarious glitches and bugs that you can laugh about and enjoy with your friends. Reminds me of the early 2000s days when you and your friend would find some super funny bug in windwaker or something but still love the game

it feels like a "pokemon for all ages", instead of what i felt with pokemon wich is "its just for or must for kids"
For example, if we had a open world, Pokémon game that was big like legend of Zelda, with all the environments and regions are the same but depending on the person and how they play, you can encounter different scenarios, and Pokémon may appear more frequently or less often 😮 someone may even find a high-level or very rare Pokémon, or even an egg, and it turns out to be something later on in your journey maybe even a legendary depending on your play style things will take shape and take route
pokemon has fallen off hard. it's only a fucking embarrassment now. the massive pokemon bubble is popping. like the 08 housing market bubble. i hope other major shit franchises we grew up with pop too. like gta and nfs. my biggest regret in life is that i don't have the money or skill to take them down with a better experience first. i'm trying with small games first, but it's been over 2 years since i started funding my first game. it's hard trying to make a game company on a retail paycheck. i have my entire game roster completely planned out for 15 years though. 1 big interconnected world through very different periods of time, with effects felt from previous game's events. and they're all different genres. got a open world crime and racing game. then a military war game. then a nuclear zombie apocalypse survival game. then a monster catching/raising adventure game. all pc exclusive (cuz consoles are picky and dead) and infinitely updated, never abandoned, so your online memories never get lost to a shut down void. no greedy shit. earn your rewards instead of buying them. no day 1 patch. released fully completed. full mod support. full community interaction. treating employees like actual human beings. etc. i can't fucking wait to shake the current gaming world. either AAA games ditch the shareholders and make true passionate games again thanks to my competition, or their bubble pops and i buy them out and i fix their shit back to what i remember growing up with. everybody wins! :D... just gotta get this first game released though, then let the snowball start rolling. in case anyone's gonna ask. my first game is based on the giant truck chase sequence from sonic adventure/generations, but with customizable cars instead of sonic. survive as long as you can, avoid traffic and the truck's weapons, unlock vehicles and upgrades, get the highest score on the leaderboard. nice and simple. next small game is gonna be a night drag racing game based on nfs ug2's city drag tracks with the nfs prostreet burnout mechanic. these first two small games will probably have some whale hunting greedy stuff in it for the sake of kickstarting the greater good goal of making huge games, otherwise my huge ambitions will never be reached in my lifetime which is already sailing on by at an alarming and depressing rate lol. i'll be transparent with the early greed though. with warning that it won't get them any advantage over players. just skipping some grind and unlocking stuff themselves, and that at the end of all there is in the game, everyone will be on equal footing with only skill between them. i won't take any pleasure in whale hunting to get started. but that's the gaming environment we live in at the moment so i might as well use a bit of it to fund a righteous purpose in bringing back the golden era of gaming. :p if only i could just find some rich gamer who's sick of the way things are now to fund me so i can just skip straight to the good stuff. (don't suggest gofundme or kickstarter, i already tried. that shit's like trying to win the lottery, especially since already rich people just pay their way to the top of the page)

What really ends up happening is the game is forgotten within a year and the titan will still be standing at the top. This is an endless cycle. Happened with wow multiple times, pokemon has had this multiple times, mtg has had this multiple times. They are all still at the top. This will be no different.
While palworld is a nice game. It will not make a titan collapse.

For me why it's a Pokemon killer is because it just goes to show that these people had a very limited budget and limited knowledge and accessibility compared to a giant corporation like like Nintendo. History proves you are wrong. Titans dont have killers. WoW had how many "WoW killers" in its time. hundreds. Magic the gathering had "Magic killers" while yugioh and pokemon tcg are doing great, Magic is still at the top. Pokemon is no different in its genre of game. You cant kill a titan unless it wants to be killed and that only happens if the company stops making it. This game will vanish before the year is up just like every other "killer"

The main reason the pals seem so agreeable is the organic emotions they display as they undertake various tasks (especially given the Palworld open world design).
You do have a point Pokémon need to up it game 😅 after platinum stuff went downhill legends Arceus was good. The only reason because of that because they had Hill they don’t even acknowledge the game they only do because it got popular like legend of Zelda twilight, princess.😢

I still hold pokemon dear to me, I played red version repeatedly on a hand me down gameboy color until I saved and got a 3ds and X. Now you got the new speak of genned mons that are different than hacked mons because no sturdy shedinja. I was one of the few psychos that played through the battle chateau, tree, etc since it was basically a solo game to me, I've done pvp some but why get stomped repeatedly by the hacked in perfect shiny teams in a volatile meta when I can get stomped a few times against some tough opponents but eventually brute my way through with my favorites? I think GFs phoning it in because of the rampant toxicity and cheating.
Palworld is more like 30% pokemon, 50% Ark survival 10% legend of Zelda Breath of the wild and also with guns
To think PalWorld servers have been leagues better than Pokemon single player offline games. lol Personally even on our 10 player server its been fine. This game is only going to grow. Cant wait. Love this game. Straight facts though. Pokemon is being held up from its 30 year old fans base.

Pokemon doesnt make good designs now like people compare cinderace to verdash but versash is just better in everyway, cinderace looks like a cartoon character like if buggs bunny was a superhero or something while verdash looks like some humonid animal that lives in the woods, which thats what pokemon is supposed to be.
