Me, who just casually trades away many of his legitimately caught shiny pokemon because he has a lot of extras: I'm doing my part to crash the black market!
Back when Ruby and Sapphire were out I remember coming across ebay listings selling shiny mons where the seller would have you mail them your copy of the game so they could do a trade and give your copy back. As a kid I wanted to do it so bad but I didn't want to risk my game being stolen. I also recall seeing people send carts fully loaded with shinies from gen 4-5 games too. Selling hacked/likely hacked pokemon goes back pretty far, too bad they flood surprise trades making them unavoidable now.
I actually sent my copy of Emerald out to this ebayer a few weeks ago and he put all the event items in the game for me like Aurora Ticket, Mystic Ticket etc. There are some good eggs out there.
@@LavenderVer That's really amusing, because Action Replays weren't terribly expensive back then. I shinied my entire collection in Ruby when I was a kid.
I remember back in the Diamond/Pearl days I hacked pokemon for other people for free, but I only limited it to 6 pokemon per person. Some people wanted pokemon that were clearly hacked, like a shiny Zapdos, with a specific nature and hidden power (Which were impossible to make look legit with the trainer IDs I had access to and I had access to quite a few) while others wanted legit looking pokemon, like a regular Raikou with good IVs with a Timid nature and HP Ice (Which was kind of fun since I had to track down trainer IDs from the gamecube games to make them look legit since roamers in gen 3 games are all bugged to have 0 IVs). In those days pokemon had hidden pokemon IDs, which means it needed to have a specific nature, correct values of IVs, correct caught location, the corresponding trainer ID, secret ID (Basically another trainer ID, but hidden from the game) and trainer name and the correct game tied to said trainer. Creating legit looking legendary pokemon in those days was kind of fun since they were basically a puzzle to solve and my good ones would get by all checks. As for the normal pokemon, they were super easy. Making them hatched from eggs means you can basically do anything you want with them since pokemon from eggs have super lenient PIDs. They can have any combination of nature, IVs and even be shiny. The only things you had to do to make them look legit, is make sure they don't have more EVs than possible and that they don't have any illegal moves including illegal egg move combinations to make them pass the legal check.
I remember when I was a stupid kid when SwSh released, I got one of these hacked Pokémon and was extremely scared I would get banned or something. It was my first experience with Pokérus, so I began to search online to see if it was a hacked status and refused to actually absorb any of the information I looked up, concluding that I was 100% banned. When I released it, I remember using the Master Ball it was holding to catch a random Pokémon, then release it.
I remember back when Sword and Shield were still the most recent games, I would see eternamax eternatus raids, and I would think it was the funniest shit ever. Also, I have a confession to make... I foolishly traded some of the hacked Pokémon away when I got them for the first time, since I didn't want to make it my problem. Now I know better to just release the hacked mons on sight.
That's what iv been doing lol online everyone and I mean EVERYONE has the same legendaries, 1 being Darkrai, I noticed immediately when I got my 1st Darkrai it was holding a master ball, I tripped out, took the ball traded it out and when I got the chance despite the fact I had already received and traded 1 I decided to see if it was an accident. Nope. 8 of 10 will have a MB on them as the item they hold. So and they're always shiny. If you come across a shiny Darkrai in this red PokeBall that makes no sense, doesn't matter the name or what have you, get it. 8 out 10 chances to get a MB and we all know how awesome MBs are. And it looks cool that you have so many because you get like 2 per game if that so.. do with that what you will lol
My stance on hacked Pokémon has always been that it’s harmless if you’re doing it for yourself to play with casually-Pokémon is a game we play for fun so if that’s fun for you, whatever-but keep them away from other people. No trading them to other people who haven’t expressly said they’re okay with it (so no flooding surprise trades with them), no using them in actual tournaments where other people made real effort to prepare their team. Games are meant to be fun so you should play however’s fun for you, but respect other players and don’t try to ruin their fun.
There's a site I've bought the occasional pokemon from for personal use, considering they charge less than a dollar per pokemon and you can have them tailored to your preferences, and changes made don't affect price at all, I think it's a good deal
@@brendanboomhour7606 yeah I did that with shiny Calyrex and his two horses back in the swsh days. they were the only shiny pokemon I was missing and i had no other way of obtaining them. thanks GameFreak.
@@EmeraldSands tourbament play is a completely different topic, the gameplay should be the battling and practicing with your team, not breeding/reseting games to get what you need, especially with how much it costs to actually get dlc pokemon genning shouldnt be so damming as it used to be before

@@RetroNChey so this might a be bit late but there are people that do this for free, these websites and groups that charge are super scummy. but that might be the point of the video so I apologize
@@iniassmith3434 I do believe the point of bringing up PKHex in a sly manner was to say that needing to pay money for these things is inherently a scam, though I COULD be mistaken-
@@Its_Asteria i mean theres a lot of reasons for competitive genning. Honestly i believe the Pokemon Co. should gen all teams on the spot for tournaments, more efficient and lets players quickly change teams if some new meta gets introduced.
@ be careful we don't want a repeat of what happened in the competitive scene. Disclose its genned or related to a genned Pokemon if you give it to any friends!
I keep my received hacked shinies on Legends Arceus, and my kid has a blast playing with them. He just likes getting them all out and watching them interact with each other :) Occasionally he asks me to move some to Violet so he can have picnics with them. It's pretty cute, and feels like making the best use of a pokemon I wouldn't normally bother with.
I always take their items and then release genned Pokémon whenever I get them. These sites are scummy. My jaw dropped upon seeing that ‘deal’ for $60. Very informative video!
I do the exact same thing! I have so many master balls and ability patches now, so I’ve started using the master balls to catch Paradox pokémon in the hopes that they get sent to Scarlet and the patches to change the abilities of random pokémon I get in trades before I send em back out into the world again. I figure if I’m gonna get hacked items one way or another, might as well use them to help other players!! and releasing the pokémon takes hacked mons out of the surprise trade pool, so it’s a win for everyone (though lately I’ve noticed a lot are only holding things like shell bells and heavy-duty boots now… at least I don’t have to grind for money ever again, I guess 😅)
Pro tip: releasing a pokémon automatically puts the item in your bag; you don't have to take it off first. I have so many Master balls I'm never gonna use...
I remember the saddest thing. Crown Tundra came out an I found one of these bots on a random regular trade. My mind not reading the name saw a shiny Tapu Coco and immediately thought ‘Omg! It’s a shiny legend I can’t let this go!’ So I trade my own LEGIT shiny Sceptile for it. And I still find it depressing to this day. It took me so many raids to find him and then I just let him go for a hacked shiny.
@@PokeDJ-17 rip. If you have any of the other switch games, I could try to hunt you a Treecko in Scarlet? It can be isolation hunted, so it shouldn't be too hard, and I could use whatever pokeball you originally had it in
From my experience, URL nicknamed Pokemon have been a problem in Sword/Shield since late 2019-early 2020. I blame Machamps Gym for it. Fun fact: Selling Pokemon Breaks the Switch's End-user License Agreement.
I remember it in X and Y. It's got worse, though. Edit - I think currently there is an issue in XYORAS where all wondertrades end up being with hackers. One I remember was a shiny level 1 treecko with egg moves. Its nicknames and OT were to a hacking site like in this video. Anecdotally I remember the GTS in X and Y being filled with hackers offering lvl 100 meta set legendaries, in exchange for a pidgey or something. With the nickname and OT being the site once again. At that point wonder trades were fine
There are actual discords that do all that for free with it being exactly what you request. There are just some queue times tho and you can pay for express bots, but again thats completely optional. I've used it, but i dont battle online or battle anyone besides the computer, for that matter. I've just messed around with it.
I tried reporting the machamp guys before but Nintendo didn’t do anything. They probably didn’t see my report as I imagine a ton of people make random reports. I’m certain that them smelling anyone making money off of their stuff would get them going nuts, so maybe the attention you’re bringing to it would help! Great video btw. I always love watching your content. It’s both relaxing and engaging
I have an idea, spam Nintendo's social media accounts with links to this video, should help actually getting those scammers taken down if Nintendo actually knows how they operate
Nintendo does not care about this lol. They are more worried about shuffling out more merch for babies, rushing out game titles and appeasing shareholders, also Nintendo doesn't make pokemon lol, that's the pokemon company, which gamefreak only owns 1/3 of You spamming reports about people "copying Nintendo" is a fruitless endeavor too, Nintendo is a giant multinational video game media corporation, they look at consumers like miserable people who can't grow up because life sucks so why not cash out on this misery the system produces. Idk why people simp and act like watchdogs for Nintendo, people had some really cool fan projects and pokemon inspired stuff that was taken down wrongfully, it's like any other soulless group of corporate ghouls trying cash out on for their personal material interests while only appeasing shareholders, treating workers like crap, garbage pay, long hours etc etc In other words: why do you care so much
Man, I used to enjoy surprise trades, just giving someone one of my unneeded pokémon and hopefully filling out my dex a bit more. It’s unfortunate how it changed. I kind of miss the GTS from gens 6 and 7, but the thing is, INSANE hacked pokémon trades were a thing there too. Wanted a legendary? Cool, but you gotta trade the other person a gendered legendary- something not possible without hacking. So like, what was the point of those? They clogged up the trades then and surprise trades are clogged now…
Not to mention all of the pokemon that were named slurs that would have been easy trades to make but obviously no one would trade them since nicknames couldn’t be changed. GTS turned into a disaster area
Surprisingly, with the shut down of the official servers the gts for DS games has kinda recovered. Sure, there's way fewer listings, but they are pretty in line with how i'd think the gts was intended. People offering version exclusive mons for one another, people offering slightly rarer pokemon for trade and of cause all the trade evolutions. Sure its not terribly active, but at least last i checked (maybe a yaer ago or so?), it was enough to be worth checking out.
If you've got Pokémon home you can do wonder trades in bulk on there. Still might run into hacked mons but it's far less likely because Home's restrictions apply to all Pokémon traded.
Now i have an idea to create a site that legitimately trades Shiny Pokémon FREE OF CHARGE, bcs ppl don't want em or are giving for the generosity of their heart. I imagine you can put all the info like, Nature • Movesets • Which game it came from • Stats etc. Also, the more ppl are reviewing the trader w legit Pokémon, the more the trader is boosted n such. I just have an idea and a dream tho. Wish me luck 🎀
So there are actually a bunch of twitch streams that are like this. They have a few hacked switches, and just gen your requests. You can even get all the info you want, for free, and all you have to do is wait in line (a lot of times the wait period is less than 5 minutes).
To some extent that's a good idea, but people will always use others for own gain. Some would absolutely ask for ludicrous things, like Colisseum bonus disc Wishmaker Jirachi with a good nature and great IVs, gen 1 origin shiny mewtwo from VC yellow, shiny manaphy and so on, overall insanely difficult hunts that are some legit hunters white whales. I would rather it be a form of request board, like say the mon you want (let's say rockruff for this) and extras you'd like (own tempo for dusk, maybe an egg move) while keeping IVs (impossible to manipulate in wild encounters, which is most of ScaVi extra shinies) and nature (mints) as more of a "bonus" request than a mandatory. Some comp players DO have extra shinies from breeding for their team, but far less than random phases and the like
@@Arcanua Sure, but i want to focus on the hacked shinies reputation by creating an actual good rep website for it - It's going to be tough with Trader Reviews, the trades themselves and verification of hackedmons, cause you don't know if people actually spent the time hunting for it. I'll need to change the site's idea since it has too many holes. Maybe i'll just create a site where i can hunt for your ideal Pokémon? EV, IV, shiny even if you want! I don't have any fanbase yet so it's going to be bearable early on. I just want to create something for the community man...
@@PiggyBonkers0309 To be fair, training Pokémon is pretty tedious so some people generate Pokémon with perfect IVs and all that to skip the process. Helpful for Pokémon like Gholdengo that already has a tedious method of evolution behind it. Though the best feeling comes from sweeping one of those teams. I did with my legit shiny Espathra, Speed Boost + Lumina Crash indeed went brrrr
The only one of these URL shinies I have kept is a breeding Ditto. No use throwing that away when it could be used for good. Unlike the URL starters I always see failing in online Tera Raids...
Yeah, I keep 'em for as long as it takes to work up a good descendant, and then release the genned one. Then I can flood the market with legit babies, which also bring in more scam ones to further purge and release. Puts me in mind of Shadow Pokemon purification haha
I've never really had this problem (seeing as I've never used the wonder trade system on Sword) but it's crazy the lengths these websites use to cover their tracks. And it's also crazy how even though you paid these expensive ass prices to get these Pokémon, only one came with your specific requests, and one didn't come at all. That's a straight up fucked if you ask me.
I remember getting a Pokémon generator software when Nintendo DS games where popular. You build your Pokémon and it generated an Action Replay code you can use to get your Pokémon and as many as you want. It was pretty rad. I wish I could use those on modern consoles.
I'm not super against genning in a Pokémon you want, despite it being looked down upon. If it's for casual use, then by all means When you ask for ACTUAL money? Nah fam, now it's a crime
Genning mons for competitive is a good thing. Removes the 37362i715 hours of setup or money you have to spend because something (caugh urshifu caugh) is so broken your loosing without it (i hate it). But genning shinys to flex with them? Brother huge L
@@doktorsmiles2034 It doesn't take anywhere near that long to setup a mon. It hasn't since what Gen 7 at least. These sites/hacked Pokemon have been around since the 3DS, if not earlier in the DS days. Pokemon X and Y had a lot of hacked shinies in the wondertrades.
I remember there being an exploit in the 3DS web browser anyone with pkhex could use to inject shinies by generating a QR code and scanning it on your 3DS. For like am inth or two before it got fixed people could generate as many as they wanted for free.
Why anyone would spend money on this is beyond me. Like even if you want to just hack in unobtainable shinies, PKHex has been around since forever and it’s free. If you play competitive, just breed for it yourself. Idk why you’d treat the main series like Showdown where you have perfectly curated teams in seconds. People who actually breed their competitive Pokémon deserve so much praise.
I have Purchased 2 Illegal Pokemon back on 3DS era in ORAS on Ebay. It was a Shiny Ponyta and Shiny Kyogre. I felt weird about it after I learned Kyogre was shiny locked and was confirmed they were illegally Genned. The third Pokemon I officially shiny Bred for was Ponyta to make up for that mistake in my life. I am now a casual Shiny Hunter and waste hours upon hours of my time obtaining a different coloured model.
And now you can do the Shiny Ponyta quest in Legends Arceus, and as long as you don't turn it in to complete the quest, you can reload the area for unlimited shiny Ponytas legitimately 😅
@GiuseppeGaetanoSabatelli I didn't know at the time it was infinite I turned it in long ago 😆 I got Ponyta Community Day from GO too, so got a few in different games
This is why I stopped doing Surprise Trades. Imagine trading away your breedjects and then you get a URLmon. I'd be funing and I just instantly released them.
@@mr.oshawottryana.m.1785 Those are different words. Legal means something you can get in game and it won't get you in trouble. If you can get a masterball in your game, then every masterball is legal. Legit means legit, which they are not because they were made on a computer.
I recently saw Verlisify for the first time and asked how, if genned Pokemon are freely accessible to everyone, is it considered cheating, and he basically said that anyone who doesn’t see how hacking a switch is cheating is considered an idiot. I bought Scarlet in August 2024 and haven’t played Pokemon since alpha sapphire, so can anyone explain how acquiring a genned Pokemon leads to your switch being hacked please? Thank you to everyone who takes the time to read and respond to this question. I genuinely don’t know much about all this stuff.
@@christopherlarson7579 If by genned pokemon you mean generated there isn't any way for your switch to get hacked [even if they edited the code of the genned pokemon to somehow be malicious because of the hack check systems in place!
@@christopherlarson7579 It doesn’t result in your switch getting banned at all. The only way that a switch can get banned is if you mod the hardware itself, such as by jailbreaking it. Anyone who says that a genned Pokémon can get your switch banned is just an idiot (aka Verlisify lol). Genned Pokémon can get you banned from official tournaments if they are genned with bad data, but if they are identical in every way to a legitimate Pokémon, nothing will happen and you can use them freely.
Probably because some people were too lazy to rely on luck to actually get them legit...also shiny locked mons weren't a thing till gen 5 apparently. I even had to look around on official Pokemon sites for confirmation just in case I wasn't sure if I got a hacked mon. I think the only Pokemon that was unavailable as a shiny prior to gen 5 was Arceus.

Since the 3DS services are no longer available, nintendo has made getting my pokemon from HG/SS impossible. While it may be possible in other newer games, its no longer the same pokemon. I'd rather have an exact copy of MY pokemon that was hacked in then going through the hassle of *maybe* getting a new version of that pokemon from some event that may or may not actually happen. I just wish they kept pokemon home open on the 3DS so that I don't feel the need to use these services in the future.
@lackofcheese344 you can no longer download those from the eshop though, so if you buy a factory reset 3DS without those apps there is no way to retrieve them.
Its not really fair to call people lazy when a good amount of meta pokemon now have a dlc paywall or if a game regulation changed the meta where a pokemon you took time to train turns out to be banned next season. A good amount of pokemon are still very difficult to get on certain IVs that you want like for blood moon ursa, urshifu, ogerpon, landorus, calyrex shadow rider, heatran, etc. Im honestly very much for free genning thanks to how long it still takes to make a full team of 6, especially with how much it costs now to make a good team. These kinds of service arent generally bad, when a discord server is nice enough to allow it for free, but yeah the sites where you have to pay like the ones you showed those are really scummy.

My first run of Scarlet, I didn't see a shiny until after I beat the game. I recently started a new playthrough, and as soon as I got my first badge, I went to Kitakami and found a Shiny Nosepass lv10. Then within days, I came across a shiny Shinx lv12, followed by Shiny Male Litleo lv15 or so. I decided at that point that I was finding them fast enough that my run would be a shiny team run, and that same day, I ran into a Shiny female Snorunt and Shiny Gumshoos within 10 minutes of each other, I was SHOCKED. I then spent the next 2 days looking for shinies around the map, and while spawn-hunting a group of Gyarados for a cool Red one, I found a Shiny Dragalge instead. My team isn't competitive or anything, but all shiny and all legit! :D
A solution should making pokemon showdown offcial or create a pokemon stadium, you still have to buy the game or dlc but can transfer a mon there or make a ''digital copy'' and there you could customize it, this would eliminate or at least drastically reduce these pirate sites
I learned how to gen pokemon my self cause i was sick of the website nicknames and ot from wonder trading so after learning how this was done, i got a second switch, and changed the names on the ot and nickname and send it back out like everyone else does. now all i do is have max herbas and give myself shiny sandwiches to shiny hunt legit lol. if someone asks me to make them a pokemon i refuse cause im not like that.
I don't play many games anymore, but even back when I did I never played competitively because of how much time it takes to just make a good team, and then how much more time you have to invest to make alterations or new teams which can be a necessity often... So I never played much because it's just not feasible for many people that can't play video games hours per day. I wish pokemon gave you an option to play competitively like pokemon showdown. Make the campaign more grindy for bragging rights, maybe make a competition to show off your pokemon with leaderboards in some way, or to allow raid battles and other reasons that breeding would be used other than shinies... But then also make a competitive multiplayer that you can either build teams super easily and free, or a method to work your way up in multiplayer to make it easier and easier the more you progress so you can work up the ability to make teams easily the more you play. But this is game freak we're talking about, they're lazy as hell and we won't see much improvement in anything for a while. Hopefully AZ will be good at least at the foundation, not just copy paste and little effort put in with shitty performance.
I guess I can kind of understand a kid wanting a something unobtainable like shiny mew or jirachi... But who would spend money to get a pokemon that they could get themselves with a few days of work?
This is why I prefer hunting it myself. I don't care about the stats, and the effort is worth it not only for a Pokemon you can name yourself, but also train in the way you want
Whole video was great but I really liked your closing points. Nothing I hate more than being traded one of these by somebody who TOOK THE ITEM OFF. It's literally the only thing that makes getting these tolerable and I can't stand when people decide to scam someone else by retrading it after removing the one silver lining
I remember people showing off their hacked Pokemon on the GTS in Black/White. That's a very nice shiny Reshiram you have. Asking for a level 1 Charizard for it, which is impossible to get, just to show off to the world that you have a hacked shiny Reshiram. People forgot that uh, you could just also hack in a level 1 charizard and swipe the reshiram.
I have basically given up on main series Pokémon games on the switch, BUT I have had my fair share of hacked Pokémon I found via wonder trade. I would usually just release them if I got them. I also found a LOT of hacked Pokémon on the gts in Sun and Moon back when that was still active
As a person that has played Pokémon, but I always found really annoying. Was that every time I would play Pokémon I would always find that person with a whole team of hacked Pokémon and use a whole team of legendary and shines to beat me

I got a copy of White 2 in 2022. The save file that was already on it had like 3 shiny Arceus, 999 gold nuggets and 999 masterballs lol

Yep, grab the stuff and release aka delete these url mons
Lol I did the same. Sadly they don't always come with said items
I just keep the hackmons around to breed legitimate Pokémon from them.
I even have two dedicated boxes called "The Hall of Shame" for them.

100% agree with you.

I do the exact same thing! I have so many master balls and ability patches now, so I’ve started using the master balls to catch Paradox pokémon in the hopes that they get sent to Scarlet and the patches to change the abilities of random pokémon I get in trades before I send em back out into the world again. I kind of miss the GTS from gens 6 and 7, but the thing is, INSANE hacked pokémon trades were a thing there too. Wanted a legendary? Cool, but you gotta trade the other person a gendered legendary- something not possible without hacking. So like, what was the point of those? They clogged up the trades then and surprise trades are clogged now…
I kinda miss it too, although, there's this annoying trainer in the gts... cough... Snivy... cough...
Don't forget the mons up for trade that crash your game if you look at their summary screen :(
Now i have an idea to create a site that legitimately trades Shiny Pokémon FREE OF CHARGE, bcs ppl don't want em or are giving for the generosity of their heart.

You can even get all the info you want, for free, and all you have to do is wait in line (a lot of times the wait period is less than 5 minutes).
you would be a hacker, everyone knoes that any shiny traded is automatic hacked mon but good luck on your service
People already do this in official pokemon groups...

If pokemons competitive szene had less barrier to entry, most of the genning wouldnt happen.
Hacked Pokémon were around like this even since Gen 3. People sold Emerald cartridges fully loaded with all 386 shiny mons.
GameSharks and action replays made obtainable generated pokemon easy
@@divineboi97 Gamesharks can also have downsides, like one of the people I know used a gameshark on one of my pokemon games without my permission and it corrupted the cartridge to the point where I couldn't save any files from that game.
@@djbaconbitzinc was the code he used legit from the cheat code book or something he wrote himself
@@divineboi97 I'm not sure. Also I didn't even know there was a cheat book. All I know is that they we're cheat codes for lv99, all shiny, 100% catch rate (any poke ball), all mons can be caught in the wild anywhere.
I have like 100 shineys from wonder trades and I love it. We have a real life team rocket an I love it I don't pay for any but I respect it
Imo I don't care about genned Pokémon. When I receive one, I just let them in my box for collection purporses.
Though I would never buy one in real life, I love to have many variants and shinies on my collection.
Reminds me of when I decided to look into a youtube/twitch channel that trades people duped Pokémon on streams as well as through discord. I never ended up doing anything with the information I gathered after all my editing though originally I was planning on working on a video since the information went deeper than I expected.
Edit: Now that I'm reflecting on it since I have been inactive for a while I think I'm going to re-edit the video and see what I can do with the footage since after looking back at it the concept was very interesting and I had a well structured intro. Thanks for the inspiration to be motivated again!
1:55 The photo with the fighting tera type shiny Haxorus is me! My first ever shiny received in a tera raid and was super excited! Until of course along came with it a suspicious amount of herba mystica from the raid. This prompted me to post that screenshot on my Reddit, confirming my suspicions. A shame really but a shiny and herba mystica nonetheless🤷♀️
@@YoursTruly007 wait, I've never played the newer switch games, how could you get a hacked pokemon through a raid? Aren't they similar to like, wild spawns but in a cave??
@absolutemaniac7368 I believe they host them under account names from discords etc and if you join them they are always shiny. I found it to be more prolific and easier to spot with the sword and shield raids. I have no idea how they actually do it lol but I was farming for fighting tera shards that day and just wasn’t paying attention to what I joined and yeah🤷🏻♀️

@YoursTruly007 that's so odd.... I do wonder how they get away with smth like that
First time viewer here.
I remember the DS/3DS days where up to gen 5 to 7 every trade felt natural and like real, also nice emote smileys hoodie design for your sprite icon.
A lot of people say my shiny Pokemon on my competitive team are hacked Granted the Mimikyu and Dusk Mane Necrozma (Necrozma half) are, but my CInccino was traded to me by a friend in a Union Circle, and my Shiny Eternatus is from the GameStop distribution.
I missed the gamestop shiny eternatus distribution and I'm still mad about it lol
I think its important to understand that all competitive players have "fake" pokemon. Just not from those sites. "Fake" pokemon have gotten so good its nearly impossible to see a difference to a real one. But again people who get those have their own sources they do not share
Yeah, my shiny arcanine is really cool right? Dunno why I named it that though, don’t ask.
I will willingly admit I got a ditto from machamps 2 years ago just to comment on how bad the price gouging is now. I paid 5 bucks for that ditto with everything listed in this vid included, even my OT.
In my four days of owning a copy of Shield, I didn't finish the game until day 2, since I used day one to shiny hunt a cinderace (shiny japan ditto method). I used the wonder trade with like, the 4 whole pages I had of scorbunnies I had. I had a lot of trades, the only actual legit shiny I got from it was a Dubwool, but the non legit ones...
I essentially mugged them of their held item and sent them to the Inceneration box
Why anyone would spend money on this is beyond me. PKHex has been around since forever. Better yet, just breed for it yourself. Idk why people want to play the main series competitive like Showdown. People who actually breed their competitive Pokémon deserve so much praise.
For pkhex you need to hack the switch. And breeding skarmory egg moves is a pain, it's easier to just buy it. I didn't even buy it shiny.
@@komi___ egg moves are easy now lol. Just gotta give it a mirror herb and remove slots for the desired amount of moves, and then put it in a picnic with a Pokémon that knows the egg moves for like 60 seconds and then exit the picnic. Your Pokémon will have the egg moves now
@@HookersAndCoke Neat, didn't know that.
@@komi___ The only limitation is that if a pokemon learns the egg move via the Mirror Herb, it needs to do so again if it forgets the move. basically, breeding an egg move will make sure it's permanently in the movelist...for that game, since home now saves moves per-game.
Traced to sword and shield? Sir, this was traced allll the way back to the XY Wondertrade days
Yeah, and the 3DS had an exploit that let people generate them pretty much at will
This was going on in X and Y too. Aka since Wondertrade started. Not sure why you say it started in Sword and Shield.
I don't even suprise trade anymore due to these hacked pokemon flooding the suprise trade system.
I wont say no to a foreign ditto which was blatantly hacked, its just more convenient to get it immediately compared to wonder trading for a legit foreign ditto for hours upon hours. Doesnt mean im happy about it, the implications of its existence honestly speaks more about GAME FREAK's incompetence than these jokers giving me the keys to an easier shiny hisui Zorua to advertise to the same kids who have learned to ignore advertising over the past decade shoving the stuff down their throats.
I've used pokemon home's mobile version to find language specific mons. As well as looking for them in discord servers I'm in.
I've also got friends from other countries rhat I can easily get opposite language pokemon from.
So it's not too difficult so to speak.
But yeah if you haven't tried those methods, I'd recommend that. That way you don't have to wonder trade specifically
I got a ton of fake hacked Pokémon all the way back in sun and moon before the ultras came out which really made me hate the fact you can’t change nicknames
These were still up and running on USUM when I bought my 3ds 2 years ago. Damn, that's annoying.
If the mons have a special Pokeball; I keep them for breeding legitimate pairs then release them permanently.
If it's caught in a regular ball; they get Thanos Snapped immediately.
1:26 there were some hacked Pokemon from what looks from a website in sun and moon as well
Edit: you can also find them (or used too) in x and y
11:48 there are other discords like this that does the same for free
How to help this situation.
Make a box named FLIPPING TRASH.
Put all your hacked pokemon in it.
Show your friend saying there actually real and tell him you have his favorite shiny
Release it in front of him
If this process works you will know if he yells at you and punts you to the moon
My brother got a cosmog from one of these sites back in 2016
My son's game is FULL of these. All of his Pokemon are level 100 hacked shinies with a website for a name. He loves them. He's not buying them, he's got them from Surprise Trade, so I'm not going to make him release them. I just don't get it. Then again, I think if this were a thing when I was 9, I definitely would. I know I used Action Replay cheats to get 20 shiny Lugia in grass patches when I was around his age.
I release the Pokémon and just take the master balls because I can’t say no to free master balls lol

I’d love if someone could talk about the old Pokémon GTS DNS thing. Where you would put in a DNS code and when you logged onto the gts you’d receive a seemingly random Pokémon, it was a corner stone of my early Pokémon years but no one seems to ever mention it and no one has ever done an “explained” style video on it (that I’ve found)
Maybe if Nintendo allowed shiny hunting all legends we wouldn't hack them in.
Yeah, it's slightly less annoying to me when it's a shiny you can't legitimately get anyways

I understand why people hacked in previous games, where grinding without glitches and proper timing would take weeks, but I’m pretty sure one run through SV’s base game festival tournament with an amulet coin gives you enough money for a full set of IVs of bottle caps. Takes a bit longer if you want a certain attack or speed IV, but that is literally it. Mapped it all out, it’s like 140,000 pokebucks to go from a Pokémon with ideal moves and nothing else to a perfect nature and IVs, not to mention the amount of EV items, TRs, and caps you can farm from event raids

True, though legit always beats hacked :)
A solution should making pokemon showdown offcial or create a pokemon stadium, you still have to buy the game or dlc but can transfer a mon there or make a ''digital copy'' and there you could customize it, this would eliminate or at least drastically reduce these pirate sites
this is effectively just an ad for these sites lol
If you wonder trade youd already know of em tbh
I learned how to gen pokemon my self cause i was sick of the website nicknames and ot from wonder trading so after learning how this was done, i got a second switch, and changed the names on the ot and nickname and send it back out like everyone else does. now all i do is have max herbas and give myself shiny sandwiches to shiny hunt legit lol. if someone asks me to make them a pokemon i refuse cause im not like that.
lmao just pkhex them
I don't play many games anymore, but even back when I did I never played competitively because of how much time it takes to just make a good team, and then how much more time you have to invest to make alterations or new teams which can be a necessity often...
I like how this video essentially doubles as admitting to buying drugs while simultaneously exposing the dealers.
🤫
Was that every time I would play Pokémon I would always find that person with a whole team of hacked Pokémon and use a whole team of legendary and shines to beat me
The thing is I missed walking wake, gouging fire, and raging bolt events and they are some of my favorite gen nine mons. It's like Nintendo pushes people to these sites by making the best mons limited time events.
