  • Earlier this year we released the DMC.micro PRO, our updated miniature MIDI controller with a host of new features. It incorporates a slick OLED display, advanced firmware with preset naming and more custom options, and also works with our web-based editor software.
    But what happens if you have one of the older DMC.micro units? We have a version of the same advanced firmware that will run on your controller available for free on our website! You can get the same advanced functionality, barring a few small things that require the new display.

    For anyone having issues on Mac- Make sure your Terminal has "Full Disk Access" or the update will not run.

    Hi there, trying to understand if the DMC micro with this "new" 2 years old firmware can receive an external clock coming from a Boss ES-5 and send it to my devices (mainly CBA), or from my Logic pro but after watching the video I am still not sure I should update (and therefore lose all my presets). Is that possible? I have my DMC micro for several years, and it's very useful though, but that would be great to be able to control tempo from my ES-5.

      Hey there! The DMC will pass through any messages it receives, including clock. You'll need to use our MIDI-Y cable to access the MIDI input and output pins of the port, but other that that there are no special settings you need to mess with. The v2 firmware can also serve as a master MIDI clock if you prefer.

      @@DisasterAreaDesigns great! Thanks a lot for your answer, so did the former version allow this already ? (receiving external clock) or do I still have to upgrade it? I never managed to do this, I do use a Midi Y cable between the ES8 (Red input into midi out), the DMC (white double cable into midi port) and a morningstar midi box (black output into midi in), is that correct? Or perhaps there's something to do with the CBA pedal itself (sending it a CC for allowing the external clock). Very hard times here for me understanding midi!

      @@IvanTirtiauxIn theory yes it should, but it definitely works in v2. I would recommend the update, it allows the use of our web editor which is really convenient. Make sure you have the MIDI input channel of the DMC set to something other than OFF, 16 is usually safe.

    Why there are no Fractal products listed as "devices"?
    I understand it can be done as a custom, but is there any cons on using it with an FM3?

      Most Fractal devices are best controlled by something with a lot of buttons! Even the FM3 is pretty easy to use with its built in controls. But that's why we added the CUSTOM options, so you can support whatever devices you want, as well as the UTIL modes to map your own buttons.

    Is this easy access to setup mode coming to DMC-4 Gen3?

    Is there any way to increase the sweep speed of an expression pedal?

    • @DisasterAreaDesigns
      @DisasterAreaDesigns  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      We do apply a bit of filtering to the expression input to keep noise out, but a lot of the problem lies with the MIDI pedals you connect. Not all of them support fast expression moves over MIDI.

      @@DisasterAreaDesigns Ah ok, I seem to remember reading the update notes on your beta firmware, one of them being increased expression pedal input speed, but I could be wrong. When I've got the pedal plugged directly into my HX Stomp, it's really quick. But when it goes through the DMC, it's super slow :(

      @@DisasterAreaDesigns Ah yes, in Version v2.01 "Increased expression pedal update speed" - do you recommend updating to the beta firmware if it'll increase the sweep speed? Cheers

    Is there any chance of a Windows updater? I don't have access to a Mac.
    Thnx

    Will it scroll a Roland gr 20?

    • @DisasterAreaDesigns
      @DisasterAreaDesigns  ปีที่แล้ว

      Sure, the Roland just needs program changes to change presets. General MIDI driver would work fine.

    is this new? it seems like the new firmware is how my dmc.micro has been set up for months.

    • @DisasterAreaDesigns

      It's been available for a few months now, yes. We had a semi-open beta for this and now it's in full release.
