You mentioned a poss vid about connecting w/o gHOUST adapter, using just USB mini to USB mini. Is that out there? Thanks

Hi and thank you very much for the video! I have two questions:
Does this setup allow to forward an incoming MIDI clock (from the input MIDI of the Y cable) to the C4 ?
In this setup, is the incoming MIDI clock received from the input of the Y cable passed to the output of the Y cable too ?
    Thanks for your help!

Yes, any incoming MIDI is routed to the USB and the MultiJack (if enabled.) That includes clock, although you may find that the C4 is not happy receiving clock over the USB. It's usually okay but if it locks the USB then you might wish to try it using the MultiJack instead.

Hello there! I’ve been using the DMC Micro to change patches on an empress zoia. I was wondering if I can use the thru function to plug a midi keyboard to control/play patches on zoia as well. Thank you!

    • @DisasterAreaDesigns
      @DisasterAreaDesigns  2 ปีที่แล้ว

Sure - you'll need the MIDI y-cable to access the thru function for your keyboard but after that it should work fine.

Hi there! Thank you for these awesome tutorials! Does this work with pedals that receive MIDI via TRS input like the Meris or Alexander?

Yes! We did discover some small issues with sending MIDI sysex over the 1/4" that are fixed in the latest release. You can use the DMC.micro to interface your Meris pedal to any of the various editors.

Hey man Ivr sent some questions via message without reply but, I have a midi baby 3. It says in manual, one multijack can accept and send midi over a split TRS cable? Is this true? I am only looking to use a small 3 knob midi controller one the ring of the left jack, with the midi output passed through a Din to TRS adapter to another device. Can it transmit full 5 pin midi data in this way? Thank you

You're the man Matthew!! Thank you so much for this. . .
    Questions.
I'm only using the DMC micro to control my C4, while im using a Soleman to control the DMC and other things.
    3 part question:
With the Soleman when selecting output messages in 'Panel' mode you have to select the MIDI channel you are sending a signal to...
    Part1
Do i have to send a signal to the DMC MIDI channel with the C4 preset # i want?
or do I send a signal to the C4 MIDI channel with the preset/data number i want? The video mentions that the C4 is MIDI channel 1 and it says the DMC can be MIDI channel 1-16 ... Do i send the signal to the DMC or the C4? Does either work depending on application?
Is it the DMC MIDI channel when i want 'DMC made presets' and the C4 channel when i just want to skip the DMC altogether?
    Part 2:
Does it matter what the Soleman global MIDI out channel is?
    Thanks!

Send a program change on channel 16 (or whatever you've set the DMC input channel) to load a preset on the DMC. It will then send out messages on its own channels.
Send messages from your master controller on channel 1 to control the C4 directly. Remember that the C4 prefers to see MIDI CC messages rather than program changes.

Hi there, thanks for the video! I'm having problems like the one that occurs on the 4:30 mark. My DMC micro freezes. I'm using a Boss ES-5 as the controller (instead of the other DMC micro on the video) and I am sending CC MESSAGES ONLY as recommended. I did the C4 oriented reset and everything worked fine initially.
Well, after changing some presets (either using the ES-5 or the DMC directly), the DMC freezes and I have to disconnect and re connect the USB cable.
I have tried factory resetting the C4, updated the DMC to latest version and did the C4 reset procedure again but the problem still happens.
I should mention that the DMC also sends midi thru (the Y cable) to a meris MIDIBOX with 3 devices and the multijack is connected to a Chase Bliss pedal. So there is a total number of 5 midi devices, 4 of them I can scroll presets in the DMC and the other one is controlled only by the ES-5 thru the DMC. The DMC thru configuration is set to 'All'.
Again, when I power everything up, it all works fine for a while and then the freezing happens, it's very random. The freezing only happens when sending commands to the C4.
Do you have any idea of what might be happening? Is it the DMC, the C4, the USB host adapter? Do you recommend any action?
    Thanks for any help!

Yes, there are some issues with MIDI clock and the C4, we're working with Source Audio to resolve them as quickly as we can.

Hello, please, is DMC.Micro capable to change tube amplifier channels (1/4 TS cable)? If not, what Disaster Area device is reccomended for it?

Is it possible to send a midi message into the USB port of the micro and have the micro change channels on a jhs pedal?
Almost like the midi solutions midi relay box or Morningstar relay box.

    • @DisasterAreaDesigns
      @DisasterAreaDesigns  2 ปีที่แล้ว

Not at this time, but it would be a pretty simple thing to implement in a future firmware update. Email us and ask, we'll put it on the to-do list.
You can use the DMC itself to fire the MultiJack relay, either manually or saved as part of a preset. We just don't have a specific MIDI command for an outside device to control it.

Thank you for the reply. Yeah I might grab one in the future and my pedal board is controlled from an iPad so that’s a super useful function.

Anyone use the 5 pin port for midi?..I have my Meris Enzo hooked up to it and every time I turn the Enzo knobs I get a sort of crackling sound.. Meris Device B,C4:Device B...Raster 2:Device A via USB(not set up yet)When I connect the Enzo through the Multi jack or Have the Enzo going without it connected to the micro there is no issue so it's definitely something got to do with using the 5 pin midi port on the Micro.Or the cable maybe(New too...They are both brand new..I have tried different options on the Micro like device channels,Midi thru etc..The dip switches are on on on like the manual says...I have a C4 hooked up to the multijack and am planning to connect my Raster 2 to the usb(If it's supported...
