@@DisasterAreaDesigns Thank you, I was about to ask the exact same question . . male to male mini usb cable (6", right angle to straight, come in package of 2) doesn't work out of the box .. I have a spare one for free if anyone in Toronto / Canada wants it for their C4 and DMC.Micro
@@tree-style Yes, exactly - the C4 checks to see whether there is bus power on the USB, and if not it doesn't communicate. The DMC.micro and other DMC Gen3 devices DO send power on the port but only if the "ID" pin is set correctly, which is one of the things the gHOST adapter cable does. I asked Source Audio to disable the check to support those rare cases when we don't have power present on the port.
Two questions: 1. Is there a way to have the micro pro start up with the device bypassed? I have my c4 set to start up bypassed, but the dmc micro starts up showing the device active. So I have to press and hold the alt button twice so that the micro pro is back and sync and controlling the c4. 2. In preset mode is there a way to set it so I can scroll through the presets without activating the c4. I have named my presets and would like to be able to scroll through them to find the right one without also turning on the c4, then I can switch back to device mode and activate the c4 when it's time to use it.
This may be exactly what I’m looking for, and to possibly ease the buyers “regret” I’ve been feeling. Hopefully i understand this pedal. This is my issue. Ever since I saw the first review for the source auto Ultrawave (bass) Ive been looking forward to getting one. I don’t have a “desktop” computer, just an ipad and iPhone. I was hoping that was all I needed, to be able to use all the functions of the pedal, but now that i have the SA Ultrawave, I’m not sure that’s the case. I’m able to get into the app…via headphone jack, but for whatever reason not via usb/lighting port. ANYWAY…I’m loving the community presets and found a way to make a lengthy (not unlike this comment…sorry for that) preset list, but am only able to access the first 6 with “just the pedal”. Before returning it, i thought, maybe ill get the midi pedal (just to scroll through the presets), then realized “if this pedal is stumping me, I’m sure the whole “midi” thing will just give me brain damage. Then i saw this… Will this pedal scroll through presets? Are the presets actually saved to the SA Ultrawave pedal itself? With this pedal…will I always have to be attached to a computer to access all the presets? And can i do all of this with my setup (sans desktop) or should i just realize, with my computer ignorance, I’m not qualified to have a pedal like this? If this question is to stupid to answer, I’ll understand. I’m just frustrated with my own stupidity. Thank you for at least reading this. Cheers
You can set up the Source Audio pedals just fine using the 1/4" cable to your phone, and after that you can use the DMC.micro or pretty much any of our controllers to access all 128 presets on the device. To be clear, they only HAVE 6 presets unless you burn more into the pedal, and for that you need either the phone app or the computer app. After that it's all gravy. Feel free to email our support folks if you need more detailed help, it's not ideal doing a bunch of tech talk in TH-cam comments.
@@DisasterAreaDesigns cheers. No problem. I really appreciate you getting back to me. Ill look into it that. It sounds like its going to work tho. Thank you again and again.
Can this be hooked up to the C4 and another pedal via the midi out (e.g. a whammy) and be able to scroll through each of the presets/intervals independently? Like hold to change pedal instead of hold to bypass? Thanks heaps
Question about the C4. Can you easily scan through presets or do you have to access them one click at a time? Also, can you simultaneously play a preset and search through presets?
Now that 9 months have passed I can answer. You can have 3 green and 3 red presets for a total of 6 at any given time. If you want a different 6 you have to connect via USB or headphone jack control and go into the software and update your pedal with the 6 you wanna use. This guy's awesome pedal allows you to scan through ALL the presets from your feet, without a PC
Question for you about CC messages. I'm using the DMC.mirco Pro with the C4 (which is awesome) Something I haven't been able to figure out is how to make CC calls to the C4 to toggle the bypass switch on or off (CC# 105). I'm sending the CC to the DMC.micro Pro from a Matthews Futurist. PC works perfectly. I'm just not able to get CC messages to pass through the USB of the C4. Thanks! This video was super helpful. :)

I was having issues as well but I found that setting the MIDI channel to one on the Neuro App and then making sure I use the USB and ghost cable provided AND they are plugged into the devices with the proper end fixed the problem! It mattered in my case which end of of the USB and ghost cable went into the two devices. You wouldn’t think it would matter but it sure did for me. Works fine now.
@BillonBass Nice. When I ordered my pedal off eBay, it didn't come with any cables. I ended up having to order their gHost cable as the one I got off Amazon was junk. Made ALL the difference.

I have two classic micro's. Updated to the 2.0. One Micro controls 3 Source Audio pedals (C4, Nemesis and Aftershock) and an Alexander F13. I'm using the SA Neuro Hub. The 2nd Micro controls 3 Meris pedals(Enzo, Polymoon and Mercury 7) and a CBA Warped Vinyl. The Meris pedals are hooked into a Meris I/O. All of this go into a couple of Midi Solutions Thru boxes and off to the Micro's. All 3 SA pedals are hooked to the Hub with 3.5mm TRRS plugs. The Meris pedals are TRS plugs into the I/O. I've used my DMC Micro PRO with my C4 for over a year now, they have lived on my pedalboard. All of sudden they wont communicate with each other anymore. I've swapped USB cables and factory reset both items and they still wont communicate. Might I need a firmware update for the DMC Micro PRO? Do you have a video for that procedure? I already updated the C4 in the Neuro app.
I figured it out! It had nothing to do with the MDC Micro Pro. I had to go into the Neuro App for the C4 and turn on USB-MIDI skip power check, under Hardware Options.
Perhaps I could look this up, but your perspective is valuable and maybe there are others who could befefit from your answer. Allen, I have this midi controller showing up any day now to use with my C4. From everything I've seen, and for the handful of presets I wish to access in a live playing environment, this purchase will be worth it's weight in gold. The only thing I see as a drawback, is the amount of cabling I need to zip tie together and tuck out of the way for my board to stay clean. But, it means my C4 can sit top row of my board while I use the controller to access and active my C4. Pretty slick

Sounds like it's not connected, then. Make sure that you've configured the C4 to use MIDI channel 1 and that Skip USB Power Check is set to ON in the Neuro App or Desktop. then make sure you have the cabling right - adapter to DMC, then cable to adapter and C4 (or Ultrawave, Spectrum, etc they all work the same.)
