      LuckyLucOnBass I didn’t hold off and I got an xt 2 a few months ago. Looks like I’ll have both a Fuji xt2 and xt3. A great setup that in total will cost about as much as one full frame camera and a few lenses.

    I'm so excited to buy the Fuji X-T3 for filmmaking. I'm using the Fuji X-T2 until now but I'm looking forward to the new autofocus and the new 4K 60fps movie mode.

    Great addition to the line up. My only gripe is, it does not use the xt100 screen mount (aka self screen). I thought that would have become the standard for all x cameras, as it solve all the different positioning you would want from a screen.

    • @alexreynoldsjr
      @alexreynoldsjr 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Fuji for such an awesome upgrade, but I'm also wondering why Fujifilm decided not to use the more versitle screen from the XT100. I also figured that would be the standard from here on out.

    The XH2 will be a killer upgrade. Already love my XH1. Please put out a new much larger battery and a headphone Jack to the XH2.

    • @BenjaminFreddie
      @BenjaminFreddie 6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I also love my XH1. If the new video features of the XT3 were added to the XH1 in a firmware upgrade(a) that would be amazing. Or just in the XH2, then it would truly be a step up above the rest of its competitors. I really prefer having IBIS and the deeper grip though, so I will probably not go for the XT3.

    • @timothylinn
      @timothylinn 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Per Fuji itself, the processor in the X-H1 is maxed out. That's why some of these features, 10-bit video for example, didn't make it into the body.

    • @fellowcitizen
      @fellowcitizen 6 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Now that the X-H line has been introduced, I hope that we won't have to wait for a full cycle for them to update it to gen-IV features.

    • @jpmagpayoful
      @jpmagpayoful 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I shall also wait for the XH2. Kind of annoying that they had all these features in the bag but did not release it with the XH1. IBIS and bigger grip!

    Fujifilm is killing it for sure! While the more expensive XH1 is killed by the XT3. For those bought the XH1 in July, we now wish we haven't bought it. Why Fujifilm is doing this? Don't tell me the XH1 is still selling better than XT3! Cheaper XT3 has better codec and can do 4K 60fps! Filmmaker like myself needs a better codec and most of us has gimbal or Steadicam for our filmmaking. Thank you Fujifilm for killing the XH1!

    I been the canon Full frame since 5D mark 2, recently upgraded to 5D mark 4, its a great camera. But I just do see myself staying with it, as its great for busy events. But this Fuji camera speaks to me on artistic level. Which is what camera should do. It should engage you on a very personal level.

    Couldn't find a proper feedback channel for Fuji so I guess I'll leave my comments here. Have been a Fuji fan for many years, from the original x100 to XT3. I have had the XT3 for few days now, and have used it for a proper commercial job in China during the last few days. Here are some suggestions and feedbacks: The OIS on some lens are buggy, at least on the 18-55mm. It some times shifts the image even when place on tripod. This is major issue when shooting video, sometime I can't even turn it off. BT connection is not stable, it fails to connect occasionally when the camera is wake from sleep.
    Overall the camera rocks solid! superb color and dynamic range. Robust codec. Here are some suggestion for the future firmware updates.
    1. Enable the ISO and Shutter to the two dails when Movie Silent Control is enabled. Its painful to adjust these setting with touch screen.
    2.Instead of showing Shutter speed in movie mode, shutter angel is preferred . This more usable when shooting variable frame rates.
    2.Aspect ration guidelines. 2.35 / 2.40
    4.Seperate Q menu and My Menu memory for video mode and photo mode.
    Really love the camera, already placed my GH5 and A7sII on eBay now.

    Fujifilm needs to correct the long-standing firmware blunder in the X-T1, X-T2, and X-T3. Namely, the Fuji firmware resets the self-timer EVERY time the cameras go to sleep or are turned off. This is a huge pain for tripod shooters. Fuji simply needs to include a menu item for the self-timer that will RESET or NO RESET. Let's fix this blunder, Fujifilm.

    Hey, thanks for the info. I'm looking to swap my camera system from canon and this x-t3 looks really exciting. I shoot mainly nature photography and can already see which landscape lenses I would use but I wonder if Fuji will make any longer primes (eg 400mm, 500mm) as that would really be exciting to couple with this camera... Yes I know they have a 100-400mm which would be a good walk around lens but I wouldn't want to be limited to that as the 200mm isn't really long enough...

    • @Pir8Pete99
      @Pir8Pete99 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I own the 100-400 lens with the 1.4 extender and I assure you it is just the best lens set-up and oh oh so sharp. In full frame terms it extends to 840mm. Can't wait to put that set-up onto the new XT3.

    Fuji please add the Electronic Image Stabilization to the XT3!! It would be just completed then. As for these great video specs you need some possibilities to stabilize the footage. Not everybody wants to use a gimbal. Not everybody is just filming on a tripod. Please add this feature as you did on the XT100. Maybe even a better version. After seeing footage with the new GoPro Hero 7 there must be a way! Sony gets the A7000 released soon with a good IBIS I guess. I understand the point of having IBIS just with Fuji’s XH series as one of the selling features. But this camera is just too big for many customers where the XT3 fits perfectly. So if we don’t have the chance to have IBIS in the XT3 (what would make it the best camera period) please release EIS with the upcoming firmware. I would buy immediately after that! Just want to travel easy with one XT3 and two primes and be able to take awesome pictures AND awesome usable videos!!.. Would make me happy and switch finally from Panasonic to Fuji. Finally... Thanks Fuji!

    I hope that weight is always considered. I went with the Fuji X-T2 in part because it was so much lighter than comparable DSLR cameras. I photograph birds and I carry my camera on long hikes along with a 100-400 mm Fuji telephoto. All of my shooting is hand held. Weigh is important to me and more features invariably means more weigh. I love my X-T2 and will likely buy an X-T3, but eventually weigh will become a deal breaker for me.

    • @fujiguys
      @fujiguys  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for your thoughts Victor. The X-T2 is a great camera. Adding lenses is always a good idea. The X-T2 grip is not compatible with the X-T3, partially due to the different configuration of the X-T2; having a co-processor in the grip.

    This makes things difficult. I have the xh1 and love a lot of things about it, but right now, the only REAL benefit (besides ergos) is IBIS for legacy glass and primes. I wonder if I should keep it and pick up the X-T3 for additional work, or just sell it and have the 3 be my main body.

    How's the shutter sound? X-T2 or X-H1 like?

    • @fujiguys
      @fujiguys  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      It is closer to the X-T2, as it has a similar shutter system. The X-H1 is quieter, due in part to the IBIS, plus slightly thicker body construction.

    • @Thomas_Geist
      @Thomas_Geist 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Fuji Guys Channel Being Fuji guys I guess does not make you engineers. The quiet shutter has nothing to do with IBIS. It is a separate damping system and probably the best I’ve ever seen (heard, that is.). And does, by the by, take up more room making it impractical on the X-T form factor. Fuji has done a good job cutting down rolling shutter on the electronic shutter where you can customize the sound to fit your every mood. I actually tried getting rolling shutter on my X-T2 for the effect and couldn’t see it on cars moving by at 20MPH. NOT ENOUGH ROLLING SHUTTER. I WANT MORE ROLLING SHUTTER. YOU HAVE NOT TAKEN INTO ACCOUNT THE ROLLING SHUTTER ENTHUSIASTS AMONG YOUR FANS. A ROLLING SHUTTER OPTION WOULD HAVE BEEN NICE, YOU KNOW. BY GOD, WHAT WERE YOU THINKING?

    Two of my biggest complaints with the X-T2 solved. 1) Mic and headphone jack on the body. 2) Graceful switching between batteries. Now, will we get unlimited video record times? I’d be happy with unlimited 1080 for some of the work I do. And, can the camera record video to both cards simultaneously?

    • @fujiguys
      @fujiguys  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for your feedback. When recording to card there is the 29:59 record limit. For unlimited times, you will need to record to an external recorder. The X-T3 does offer simultaneous record to HDMI and SD Card, but not to both cards simultaneously.

      X-T20 has already had some excellent sales, and will presumably have some even deeper discounting now. It has 90% the capabilities of the X-T2 and looks nicer. The difference for stills is identical between the X-T2 and the X-T20, and not as significant between the X-T2 and X-T3 since it had matured so far already (mainly big video improvements.) So I'd suggest an X-T20 during the Cyber Monday sales as it's highly capable and probably very close in stills image quality to the X-T3.

    Okay, so a few nips and tucks here and there and finally with a touchscreen... So basically an XT-2 with nips and tucks and a touchscreen with how many lenses again? Oh and I didn't hear anything about IBIS. The XT-2 was available in the silver finish, so that isn't new. So it took Fujifilm how long to come out with just these few changes? Trust me, I love the XT-2/3 due to the setting dials on the top since I'm an old film guy, but, if they still have a meager lens offering, then why should I commit to this camera system? Additionally, why didn't they go to a full frame sensor?

    As far design goes, I wouldn't mind seeing crisper and cleaner lines. Right now there's a bevel to everything, makes it feel a bit more cheap (nitpicking but hey). And the chrome finish on a Leica for example is much nicer, but maybe that's not something which can be done at cost.

    • @Thomas_Geist
      @Thomas_Geist 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Tj Holowaychuk No, you are not nitpicking. Aesthetics is important. A Leica M3 is the same shade of silver as the M10-P and all the lenses. Smart! Fuji produced 3 great little f2 lenses but the silver only matches ONE enthusiast grade camera, the X-T20. NOT smart. If they don’t clean up the silly angle on the X-Pro dial deck and have a silver version that matches the lenses I won’t buy one. Invent your own tone of silver but then stick to it across the line for bloody sake. Silver...Graphite...graphite/silver; and now champaign and not quite so silver silver/graphite on the XT100. Nothing better to do? Write them a letter. I have. Who knows.

    • @slothsarecool
      @slothsarecool 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Agreed, it seems like a missed opportunity. I realize not everyone likes the same things, but their bodies and lenses still look and feel a bit cheap to me, even with materials being the same it could be cleaned up easily with design

    I'm thinking of switching... BUT. how is it that you call it 10bit if it only records 4:2:0 on the card? You can record externally 10bit 4:2:2 already on X-H1 and X-T2 so is there really much difference on the colour information?

    • @fujiguys
      @fujiguys  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      The X-H1 and X-T2 record in 8-bit colour. 10-Bit refers to the number of available colours (8-Bit is about 16 million, 10-Bit is a little over 1 billion colours. So, the colour palette is much larger with 10-bit. The 4:2:2 versus 4:2:0 refers to the compression of the file.

      I'm waiting for the handsome and heavy-duty X-H2, too; though, if the battery grip is compatible between X-T2 and X-T3 then that could sway me.

      One point to consider is whether in-body image stabilization. If you want IBIS, then the X-H1 is for you.

      Amateur Sleuth I cannot imagine an
      X-H2 being released for another year, but that will be an amazing piece of tech!

    Can anyone answer is there an adapter for Canon EF lenses to fit this camera and if so how would AF, IS, etc work? Looks like a great camera especially in the wake of the latest Canon and Nikon offerings. Like many of us though we're invested in another company's lenses so making a switch isn't an easy choice unless the camera can be adapted to work with some gear.

      We can't speak about the effectiveness of any given adapter. But, if other users have experience, please feel free to share theirs.
      Otherwise, you can search in other forums to find out the experience other have.

    XT3 is a beast :-) but please add EIS (electronic image stabilization) via Kaizen and the option to start and stop recording video with a FN button (also for XT2). pressing the fn button would jump into the video mode records video, press it again it stops the video and jumps back to image mode. having to use the dial all the time for hybrid shooters is not the way to go. On the XT4 XH2 just add a video record button.

      dsphotoblog.com I’ve been say that about EIS for months and would have bet a week’s pay they were going to when they announced a few more meg on the sensor. Why would they do that, I asked myself? Of course, EIS coverage. To be honest I’m shocked they didn’t. Maybe they did increase the sensor coverage and will provide it later in a firmware upgrade if sales get soft. 24 to 26meg. Impressive, but I think I’ll keep my X-T2.

      @@Thomas_Geist yeah the Fujifilm X-T100 already has a very effective EIS (Electronic Image Stabilization), so fuji doesent have to start from scratch. I think billy said in the press conference that now its easier to copy and paste options from one camera to another, so i really think they can do this on the XT3. It makes a LOT of sense in a camera with so many video features. And please make that start/stop video via fn button!

      dsphotoblog.com Interesting concept. It would be cheaper all around to basically make one core camera with all the electronic features and put it in different bodies with some of the features just turned off...for the time being.

    • @dsphotos
      @dsphotos 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Thomas_Geist i agree, of course not every feature will work in their older models, because of processor limitations, but the XT3 has that very powerful quadcore which should be able to give us the best EIS on the market. All of these youtubers and comments say xt3 is such a great camera BUT...no ibis..see what i mean, the EIS would be a very positive argument for Fuji to sell even more and its a winwin for them and us customers.

      dsphotoblog.com Ah, you’ve discovered the heart of the issue. Adam Smith tells us markets were driven by supply and demand and that’s true to an extent. With the advent of advertising one side of that equation can be manipulated to some extent, but the equation stayed basically the same. But now with technology being able to create things 20 years ahead of the demand side even knowing they need something the game is taken into a third dimension: Marketing strategy. You advance the capabilities of any product based on that. How do you inch the tech forward so as to milk any new feature for its potential profit limit before introducing something brand new but that you had on the shelf for a decade? It’s a war including market research, R&D and intelligence on the competition. Of course they COULD have put EIS into the X-T3 but didn’t.
      These are not stupid people. They question you must ask is, “why didn’t they?” And to answer that one must know the dark arts of market strategy. If a few months down the line Fuji “discovers” a way to put EIS into the T3 with firmware most consumers without engineering or marketing experience will say, “oooh, but a bunch of clever fellows,” when in fact that was the plan. Wait until sales soften a bit and THEN pull the trigger. Did they do this with the T3? I don’t know, but that’s the way the tech game is now played.
