Your closing comments were so spot on and well thought out. And not just for something as insignificant as a camera company. Onward we go....make it so.
You do not waste our time. It is very considerate of you. You pack the info of three reviewers mumbling in one clearly articulated sentence. You say stuff others do not. I actually understand you. Great job, Undone. Keep doing that.
After watching like a thousand X-T3 reviews and videos in general, I found yours, wich is in my opinion one of the most objectives and from a viewer point of view with a great dynamic in the conversation, thanks.
Well Gerald, I’m video first kinda dude also, though I’d say about a year ago I realized that I’m neither just a photographer or filmmaker, I’m a story teller and I enjoy and use both output equally. And with all the tech we all know is out there, it is always hoped we will get one day a respected “hybrid”. Great review. Truly.
That is one great review. And the best APSC camera to date. If there's one thing Fuji lacked it was video ability. But now, they have exceeded all aspects. Finally, the company that is fully dedicated to Crop sensor, is now the top crop sensor. I'm undone. And I hit the like button 3 times.
Thank you for the excellent review! Your comments about fanboys at the end were spot on! As a Torontonian in Australia seeing the Toronto skyline and Cayuga speedway gave me some serious homesickness!!!
Got the X-H1 and it was/is perfect for the style of shooting I do---handheld, Rokinon lenses. I will definitely buy the X-T3....and wait impatiently for the X-H2. These are awesome cameras with the best image and color out of the camera I've ever seen. Thank you Fuji for saving me from going back to Sony.
If you watch Kai W's pro photographer bad camera (or some similar name) challenge, you see pro photographers shooting with toy/pinhole cameras and creating amazing pictures. It's not the camera, it's mostly the photographer and the subject.
Glad Fuji made a camera that fits your needs. I will probably replace my other X-T1 with an X-T3 this year. Between the X-H1 and an X-T3 all bases, both photo and video should be covered for what I do. BTW, that Ferrari looked SWEET! I bet you had a blast driving it.
Yo Gerald, great meeting you at the Fujifilm event. I loved how you wouldn't stop bugging Billy about video centric features, ha ha! But now I get it, you're video first. Solid review. Keep the good work.
Yeah, you too! And yeah, that's me, the annoying video guy. 😃 Someone's gotta be THAT GUY who asks the nitpicky video questions. Haha. Thanks for the kind words on the video.
This is the first video of the X-T3 that has gotten me considering upgrading from my trusty X-T1. Well done and thoughtful. Nice job tearing up the track in that Ferrari.
Looooved this video! Just Got my own Fujifilm X-T3 and your videos are part of the reason. I actually did a video with my first impression of the camera, and I gotta day, I was surprised. I’ve used canon my whole photography life, but it’s always felt like the shoe didn’t quite fit right with me. The style and feeling of canon just wasn’t my cup of tea. Now the shoe finally fits and I feel more motivated than ever, with my Fuji xt3.
Cool, it looks fujifilm is in the game. I am definitely not going to replace my sony equipment, but I am very pleased that fujifilm has been able to solve so many issues.
Not for sure if this question was asked. @ 10:45 Gerald mention heating issues with this model. Has anyone experienced a over heating issue where the unit will have to shut down and cool itself off? I remember working with a Canon T series and it would always over heat turn itself off and we had to wait. I produce live local plays which last anywhere from 90 mins to 3 hours. Really impressed with the reviews and specs of this Fuji beast out the cage. Please help with your insight
I just bumped into your videos recently and I just need to say how great you're, and please even when you start to be super big here, do not lose your essence and therefore how great is the way you communicate with your subs, like that video that have more than 300 comments and you're still answering questions. That's really remarkable and amazing! 🤓 Now, one little question: I see a lot of video oriented talk about the XT-3 body but almost no one talks what Fuji lenses do well in video. I've been reading a lot of different stuff about poor performance lenses in video and that all of them are great, so since I don't know how the world of Fuji works and I really want to join the x-t3 boat, would be awesome if you could cover that a little :D
Thanks a lot! Appreciate your kind words. I'm not an expert on Fuji lenses, but I know what you mean. From what I've been hearing from people with more Fuji experience than me, it would seem that the f/2 versions perform a bit better for video than the f/1.2-f/1.4 versions. I haven't done a side-by-side though.
@@geraldundone thanks for your answer Gerald :) This mislead of information is what scare me, Fuji is not extremely famous here (Portugal) and I don't have friends yet that use it. I will try to test drive a body in a store nearby but I don't think I will succeed. I'm eager to dive deeply in the fuji wagon with a great cage and a atomos V, but I need to make sure all these checkboxes before.
Awesome video dude. I seriously appreciate your perspective on the camera market. I feel like you do a really good job of approaching things from a journalist angle. Bringing accurate news and updates to the forefront. Often times that may mean that your opinions change with the market and you're not afraid to put that out there.
Thanks for your honest review Gerald. Indeed I'm pleased with my XT3 and all their subsequent firmware updates which brings me closer to the XT4 level. No biggie on the IBIS since, as stated, I use a gimbal for almost all of my video. Keep up the great work.
Man, your XT3 footage in the talking parts looks a lot better than the Panasonic footage. I've seen this before with someone reviewing the X-H1. They were doing the talking parts on their Panasonic GH5, and then showing clips of the X-H1 throughout the video. Every clip of the Fuji was strikingly better than the Panasonic. Color and image is why I switched. Thank goodness I don't have to go back to Sony Zombieland.
You think so? I'm still a bit partial to the GH5's look. Obviously you like a vivid image, because Fuji has that in spades. I like both, but I've always liked the smooth, cinematic look of the GH5. The Fuji is really nice for punchy portraits and outdoor details though.
Yup. I think so. And it's not the vividness. It's the color, the texture of the skin, the beautiful smooth and gradual roll off--all of it combining to compliment the person's face. And there's something "off" about the face color and texture of the look of the GH5. I never liked it--better than Sony, but, sorry. No cigar. That's why I kept looking. The colors of the Pani in comparison to the Fuji seem a bit dead and lifeless. Yes, in general the Fuji colors pop. But that's not it. Sony colors can pop--and I wish they wouldn't. There's something really special about the Fuji look--something Je ne sais qua. And I'm not alone in seeing that. Just look at the footage on DP Review where Jordan reviews the X-T3. It's all shot on the X-T3, and it looks gorgeous. It's not the vividness, or the punch portraits,or outdoor details. It's the artist's eye applied to the science of color. You can see it in Canon and Nikon too. Most else looks clinical and unnatural to some degree. But I will say I saw a real improvement in the GH5s---but try as I may, I just could never live with the MFT sensor--and I tried!
@@avarmadillo The GH5 colors push a bit to yellow and green, you can see it easiest with skin tones and green plants. The GH5S looks better but still pushes a little too magenta for my tastes; I agree that the out of camera colors from the Fujis are more pleasing. Judging from the comparison footage I've seen, GH5 video still looks sharper than XT3 footage but some people prefer a softer look.
One thing you did not mention and I don’t blame you because no one else mentions it including Fujifilm, and that is the optional battery hand grip allows the use of three batteries! Two in the grip and one in the camera. I don’t know of any other handgrip that does that. You did mention that an AC power plug comes with it that charges the two batteries in the grip, but I think it charges all three batteries and powers the cameras as long as it is plugged in. Which is awesome for corporate interview duty like I do. And one other feature that nobody mentions, the audio is really good! It records in 48 kHz 24 bit depth which is better than 16 bit like many pro video cameras. I’m a sound mixer and use a Sound Devices MixPre-D screwed under the T3 for recording direct to camera audio. I used to do that with the Canon 5D mkII and it produced OK sound but this T3 sounds so much better. I actually do single system sound for Corp interview gigs unless they are willing pay for double system and post to sync it.
Just found your channel. Loved your no nonsense review. I wish more gear reviewers were like you. Im going to check out your other videos now. Subscribed.
Just stumbled upon your channel, this was by far one of the best reviews and entertaining videos on the XT3 by far. Congrats man!!! You got yourself a follower.
Fuji I LOVE your flip SCREEN concept! They have in my opinion the best flip screen arrangement on the marked. Makes high/low photo a breeze compared to the Panny/Oly/Canon idea where you have to flip it all the way out before rotating etc which makes you miss the moment. 100% cudos to Fuji here. This vlogging-thingy is just for a few users compared to the large amount of photographers out there.
Thanks for confirming Fuji is still using a 4GB file limit. I sync long takes from 3 angles so that's important information to me and has been hard to come by. The XT3 has the best out of camera colors I've seen but I'm sticking with the GH5 until they remove recording limits with unlimited file sizes, improve IBIS and are proven to be more stable (XT2 and XH1 had some freezing issues). I'm hoping the XH2 gives us all this at a competitive price and soon.
Great review! I'm loving this style of videos where you talk about the camera capabilities and say whether it's worth it or not based on the camera itself and not like some TH-camrs that say it's worth it because it's the "perfect backup" for an $8k main rig. Keep it up, Gerald! You're getting better and better with every video! Cheers!
I'm so excited to buy the Fuji X-T3 for filmmaking, I'm already in love with this camera after only watching this video. I'm using the Fuji X-T2 until now but I'm looking forward to the new autofocus and the new 4K 60fps movie mode.
What do you think would be the considerations between the Sony A7 III with a samyang lens and a tamron lens VS Fuji X-T3 with 3 fuji lenses, kit and 2 primes? I'm trying to figure out what to upgrade to next...
Great video, Gerald. This is the first time for me in your channel. I am much more interested in pictures than video production, but I have to shoot some vids every now and then. Anyway, you caught my attention, and will follow you. I like how articulate and understandable you are, even for a non "video geek" :) Good luck with your channel !
hi gerald thanks for all the great content would you rather recomment xt3 or sony zve10 if they are priced the same? i would love to know your opinion on this one
Looks nice and Wow finally 60p 4k! Sony better release 4k 60p. I doubt Sony will do 10 bit internal, but it better at least be 10 bit external. Nice review by the way.
Great demo! I'll add that no stabilization is a big deal. That footage you shot looked straight out of a GoPro -ha! Making the X-H1 (same price if bought used) the better camera and value. Subscribed!
xt3 in 2021? i am looking at a 2nd hand body for 750 and am tempted :) or would an x-s10 at just a little more be more suited to see if i like the fuji system? biggest advantage of a new xs would be ofc return policy....
Hi Gerald, I watched a lot of X-T3 videos and I think the image is excellent but the frame rate is really weird. I mean, it feels like there are some frames missing, spoiling the flow. I have watched these videos on a top PC and also on a Macbook Pro to check and I was really disappointed. Do you think it's because of the settings or it is a problem with this model? Thanks!
A year completed and this camera is still outstanding. Can't believe that I haven't bought it yet. Now I have enough to buy XT3 but a question I would like to ask, that is it still worth buying ?
Myself I failed to get smooth gimbal shots with the X-T2 except with very wide lenses. It just didn’t quite make it without any internal stabilizing to round off the small shaking. Even after being pushed in a wheelchair inside I needed to stabilize in editing. So I don’t know if this would be a good gimbal contender. There are of course better gimbal operators than me out there than me. I solved my problem by keeping the camera, selling the gimbal and sticking to tripods. Anyway, very informative video, thanks! I think I will upgrade to this.
Another helpful video! One of my biggest areas of ignorance is color correcting and grading. I would love to see you teach about this topic if you are inclined. Things I don't understand: The "Log" profile - what is it and why is it supposed to be so great? What is Cine-D and Cine-V (in my Panasonic camera - I'm guessing others have it too), and why are they desirable versus, say, a "vivid" profile or the Log profile? Why do people want "flat" video that they can "grade?" Why not just get it out of the camera as close as possible to what you want, and then use post production just for minor tweaks? Why isn't it as common to have "raw" video as it is to have "raw" still photos, to offer a wider range of correction before unwanted artifacts start appearing? I know you have a video about color science, which is related, and maybe some questions are answered there, but overall I think these are different questions and a different general topic. Anyway, I think that would really be helpful for a lot of people because it would help us pick what color profile to shoot with and have an idea of how much work we will have in post. Thanks!
This is *exactly* what I was looking for, except for no IBIS... but form my experience is so much more about how stable *you* are ;) Definitely gonna get this one as my next camera!
Hey Gerald, thankyou for the review. Im a Fuji owner with an Xt1 and two XT2's I had never been that concerned about video until recently when I wanted to start making my own short videos. It instantly became apparent that the XT1 was next to useless. The Xt2's were ok but I got a sever dose of Camera envy when my mate showed me the Northern Lights video from his Sony A9. Its good to hear that you rate the XT3 for video, and this review may mean I buy an xt3 at some point soon. I would be interested in hearing your thoughts on a comparison between the sony a9 and the fuji xt3 for video ? Which should I buy ?
Honestly, bang for buck the X-T3 crushes the a9. There's benefits to both, but the X-T3 packs just so much into its package it's an easy pick. The a9 beats it at sports shooting for sure, but for video it's X-T3 all the way.
@@geraldundone hey many thanks for taking the time to reply. I wasnt really expecting you to.Its great to hear that you rate the xt3 over the A9. So my next Camera will be the xt3 for sure. Just need a good pay day :)
I love what Fuji is doing and how they treat their customers, but I honestly just don't like the 'retro' styled bodies as much as a body on something like the GH5 or G9 (Panasonic). I've never used the X-H1 (I had an X-T1 & 2 and a few X100's in the past)...so I would probably prefer the X-H1. Although, I still think the X-H1 is a little too hampered compared to a G9 body with regard to ergonomics and customization. The G9 and GH5 bodies are near perfect for quick changes to exposure comp and aperture in aperture priority with how I have the dials configured. Everything is right at my fingertips on my right hand.
Yeah, I'm with you on that. I get it when people say they love the look of the Fuji. I can totally see why they would, but for me personally I'd rather have modern dials and aesthetics. I find the ergonomics of my GH5 superior for sure. But it's all a matter of taste I presume.
Gerald Undone The problem is, everything else about the Fujis is so tempting. I love all the little details like the modern/classy menu system, the font and details in the EVF and how the info changes when you rotate the camera, etc, etc. If money was no issue, I'd have an X-Pro 2, X-H1 and plenty of Fuji lenses too because their lenses are just sexy too :-) But being more practical, I really don't need another camera right now (have a G9 and a7R3). I'm really curious about that Panasonic full frame rumor though. If Panasonic were to make a FF G9 with a great sensor similar to the a73, oh my! Panasonic probably does more right than most brands right now but that much smaller 4/3 sensor has been what kept a lot of people from converting to a Panasonic system.
Hey man, have you seen any issues with the 2.10 firmware update, or has the 4gb limit truly been removed? I’m starting to pine after this camera!! With the x-t3 so you feel there’s any reason to consider the x-h1 to a hybrid shooter such as myself?
Yes, the 4GB limit was removed. And no issues that I've seen. Still loving this camera. The only real advantage to the X-H1 is the IBIS, but that's not a big deal to me.
Let me nitpick further, they should have given Pagani or a Bugatti instead of a Ferrari. Anyhoo, great review man. Not getting this but Fuji is getting really serious about their hybrid ambitions and I might get one next year or the XH2. Fujinon glasses are awesome and the line up is huge. I use the GH5 & GH5S, so yea I'm used to bad AF. GH5 thought me how to master Manual focus as a one man crew at times. Sometimes having a reliable AF helps, especially in the wedding industry. About commercials, it's manual focus. I've always been an admirer of Fuji colours, my dad a professional hobbyist uses Fuji XT2. I'm sure he'll get this and I'm pretty sure IL get that from him. Cheers mate.
Good stuff. Does it have zebras? Wave forms? Also how is the auto ISO? Heard a rumor that the X-H1 has a noticeably "stepped" auto ISO. Do you have to overexpose flog two stops the way most people suggest to overexpose SLOG?
Zebras = yes. Wave forms = no. I never tried auto ISO--not something I use, sorry. For F-Log I just exposed to the right on the histogram and it turned out okay. Zebras help too for that.
Excellent video. I'm on the fence in choosing between the Fuji X-H1 and the X-T3. I'm primarily a portrait shooter, but I may start doing occasional video. Which camera would you select between the Fuji X-H1 and the X-T3 if you were only buying one camera?
Definitely the X-T3. I think it's a much better value and beats the X-H1 in most ways except for IBIS. And if you're primarily doing photos the X-T3 will be a better choice there too.
I definitely think that this is a better camera for video. I think it's one of the best cameras for video out at the moment. You'll find much better video autofocus results on this model over the D7100. But it has so many other great video features you'll likely also appreciate if you're into shooting video.
This is a pretty sweet camera; Fuji really impressed (and surprised) me with this one. I've heard a rumor that they'll be implementing the exFAT file system with a future firmware upgrade to eliminate the 4GB filesize limitation. I hope that's more than just a rumor. There's not a huge amount for them to do to make an X-H2 the hybrid cam of choice: IBIS, obviously; fully articulating screen; remove all recording limits; use the GFX battery; get rid of that 1.18x crop and 4:2:0 limitation internally, and...that's about it. Oh, they could make an XLR adapter like Panasonic has. I think if they added some type of USB-C expansion port that's not on the side of the camera, they could make some type of "cine-dongle" device so that a fully articulating screen wouldn't interfere with the ports. Perhaps make the hot shoe smart so the XLR adapter could also provide those other ports. Seems like that would be a good all-in-one solution for the type of people who need that functionality, anyway. The other big thing I'd like to see them do is make a proper cinema camera to compete with the Sony FS5; Fuji makes the incredible MX and MKX zooms that would be a perfect match for such a camera. They'd need to make AF versions, and an add-on zoom motor, but they've got the optical experience to sell such a platform. I'd also like to see an ultra-wide zoom added to that family at some point.
Agreed. We'd obviously have to pay a premium for that in this hypothetical X-H2, especially if it has no recording limits. I do think it's workable though. The body would be bigger as well, but I don't know if that would really bother anyone.
Isn't the X-H1 smaller than the GH5? I don't think the size is a problem. The bigger body would also allow for better heat management. I've no problem in paying reasonable prices for increased capabilities. Honestly, the only big disappointment for me with this camera is the lack of a fully articulating screen. I wonder if the 4K 10-bit 4:2:0 could be increased to 4:2:2 if limited to 24/25p. That would be sufficient for most filmmakers, I think, and is the kind of thing that could be accomplished in firmware. Same thing for 400Mbps in lower framerates and lower resolutions. It's the total bandwidth that is an issue, and should only be an interface update to enable certain combinations that fit within the available internal bandwidth limitations. All together, this is incredible competition for the GH5S, and I'd like to see some noise comparisons between them. Bigger sensor vs dual ISO is an interesting battle. It looks like the Pocket 4K has them both beat (handily) based on the footage I've seen, but that's a very different type of camera.
Thanks! I didn't use the 50-140 much, but one of the other guests at the event brought one and I used his rig to shoot him while he was having his turn driving. It worked really well for tracking and framing the Ferrari he was driving around the bends and blasting past me. Got some great footage for him. I bet you'll have a good time with it. 😃
I think the reason why they have the same battery and no IBIS is that of the size of the Camera. If they were to add that two feature, then they would have to redesign a good majority of the camera
Wonderful review!! Thanks for staying video focused. I’ve really been loving your videos, honesty and overall attitude. Quick question regarding shutter, does the XT-3 have a shutter angle option with something similar to GH5’s ‘synchro scan’ to address using mixed lighting and flickering light sources?
Thanks for the kind words! I wasn't able to find any settings for shutter angle, so I think you'll be stuck using the standard stops. It does have flicker reduction, but that's more of a stills feature.
Yeah, unfortunately it still chunks em up into 4GB. There is a rumour spreading that they'll implement exFAT via firmware, but I don't know if that's possible or factual. It was a disappointment for me for sure. Makes editing a decent bit more tedious.
Gerald Undone that’s a huge disappointment. I’m always surprised how far they can push their cameras with firmware but I don’t know how much the xh1 can go. They said zebras aren’t possible because of processing so then what else is there to give? I’m a gh5 / Fuji shooter and the ibis is almost unusable compared to the gh5. It’s the first Fuji camera I’ve been let down by
I know what you mean. I didn't love that about the X-H1 either. I should mention that the X-T3 does have zebras. That was an improvement I forgot to mention in the video.
Me too. Like you, I use the GH5 and GH5s for my professional video work, Also used the XT-2, but always thought the GH5 was better for video. Fuji just seems to have crushed it with the XT-3, though.
Great review man! Thorough (like, including the helicopter blades) and entertaining, and informative. This camera is tempting me to switch brands. PS: How does one get invited to these events?? I know in your recent milestone videos you mentioned that your videos weren't always camera tech, and your sub count is still sub 10k, like mine. Did they reach out? (Yes, I'm being intrusively "nosey" lol)
Thanks for the kind words. I'm glad you liked it. I was invited, yes, by them reaching out. From what I gathered by talking to them during the event they choose people based on personality and what they think might fit well with their brand. I think it is likely my mission to be objective and avoiding fanboyism that likely helped. Also, many of my camera related videos get over 20-30K views, so that helped buffer my lower sub count.
My biggest concern with this no doubt wonderful camera is heat management. No ibis and the 4gb files is manageable but overheating when recording 10bit internal renders it unreliable and unusable for serious video work. So what do you think, are one hour interviews doable (repressing the record button and battery life notwithstanding)?
I think so. My total record time during this video was 1h16 or 76 minutes. At the end of it it was pretty warm, but not so hot it was concerning. Some people reported better heat dissipation with the grip attached, but I did the 76 minutes without the grip. I used about 1.25 batteries total. I tested with an external recorded and there was barely any heat at all due to offloading the recording, so that's always an option too. Environment might play a factor. My studio was about 23-24C during the video, and I think at those temps you can safely get over an hour of record time.
I have a question.. Sort of a camera newbie, looking to buy my first camera, mostly for video. I love the soft, filmic look of the Nikon D850 but it's out of my budget (and hard to find I hear). Out of the sub-$2000 offerings, which would you choose if that was the look you were going for? Appreciate you greatly
Good question. It is an in-camera processed slowmo. So you set the framerate and sub framerate and it does the rest. So you can't capture at 120p straight and so no audio.
Awesome. I was looking at the XT-3 but... I though GU said it had major faults (I forgot you were reveiwing the XH-1 which interestingly has dropped a lot in price to $1200 USD) thanks for a great and always honest videos and robust AF tests. Best part of the video was left off the table of contents: The end where you ask if you are going to sell all other brand and go all in on Fuji! and troll other brands That's the stuff legends are made of.
the XT-3 is definitely a great option right now, I'm more of a FF fan, but considering that fact that the Panasonic S1 will be available in 6 months, I'm considering moving to Fuji. I'm also considering the Sony A7III, but the 4K60 on this one makes me want this one more, and probably Sony's A7sIII will be twice the price as this one. It's quiet a hard decision now a days to select a camera with so many great options available, I think Canon and Nikon missed a big opportunity with their EOS R and Z cameras, too bad, but then again, better for us to have other options available.
Yeah, it's quite a busy landscape of options at the moment, which can be both exciting and puzzling. I agree with you though that more options is better. Cheers! 😃
why does the xt3 have such harsh exposure changes when in aperture priority mode...i cant even video a sunset to speed it up later in post like i do with my sony A7rii without it flashing so badly as the sun set and the light got progressively dimmer....i was using the 16mm f1.4
I've watched at least a dozen reviews on the X-T3, and I must say that this one was easily one of the very best, thanks!

Someone's gotta be THAT GUY who asks the nitpicky video questions. Haha.
Thanks for the kind words on the video.
Coming from XT1 it’s a no brainier for me. Great review.
Snap though will keep xt1 due to its made in Japan and my love for it :0
This is the first video of the X-T3 that has gotten me considering upgrading from my trusty X-T1. Well done and thoughtful. Nice job tearing up the track in that Ferrari.
Haha. Thanks! I actually just posted a new video on the X-T3 today. Check it out: th-cam.com/video/NKyNTfxj3Ik/w-d-xo.html
Great review! I'm totally sold on the X-T3! Thanks!
i don't get it. how you are not already one of the top youtubers? when it comes to product info, you're the best!!! keep it up!
Thanks so much! Really glad you're loving the content. Cheers! 😃🙏👍
Great job on the vid bro!
Thanks, Lee.
And thanks for that sweet shot of my driving the Ferrari. Loved it! 🚗
One of the best videos on this camera. I am strongly considering picking it up next week. Thanks!
So much fun watching it! New follower is born!
Awesome! Thanks for saying so. Happy to have a new follower. 😃
Thanks for mentioning liner focus, it's really helpful!
Congrats on almost 8k , keep up the good work !!
Good review, seems well balanced and practical. Thanks for taking the time to make and post.
I just bumped into your videos recently and I just need to say how great you're, and please even when you start to be super big here, do not lose your essence and therefore how great is the way you communicate with your subs, like that video that have more than 300 comments and you're still answering questions. That's really remarkable and amazing! 🤓
Now, one little question: I see a lot of video oriented talk about the XT-3 body but almost no one talks what Fuji lenses do well in video.
@@geraldundone thanks for your answer Gerald :)
This mislead of information is what scare me, Fuji is not extremely famous here (Portugal) and I don't have friends yet that use it. I will try to test drive a body in a store nearby but I don't think I will succeed. I'm eager to dive deeply in the fuji wagon with a great cage and a atomos V, but I need to make sure all these checkboxes before.
You deserve over million followers!! Great channel 😊
Thanks so much! That's very kind of you. 😃
Awesome video dude. I seriously appreciate your perspective on the camera market. I feel like you do a really good job of approaching things from a journalist angle. Bringing accurate news and updates to the forefront. Often times that may mean that your opinions change with the market and you're not afraid to put that out there.
Thanks a lot, Ryan! That's really nice of you to say and I really appreciate it. Cheers, man! 😃👍
All the info I wanted to know. Excellent review!
Isn't sharpness more contingent on pic profile settings and lens quality rather than something that's set in stone?@@PeterMKent
Subscribed.
Awesome! Thanks a lot. I appreciate your kind words and sub. Looking forward to more comments from you in the future. Cheers! 😃👍
Just stumbled upon your channel, this was by far one of the best reviews and entertaining videos on the XT3 by far. Congrats man!!! You got yourself a follower.
Awesome! Thanks. Glad to have a new subscriber. Cheers! 😃👍
Does anyone else treat Geralds videos like an encyclopedia of camera info?
The charger that comes with the grip can also be used to power the camera. Handy for shooting prolonged video sessions indoors.
Cheers!
Thanks a lot! Appreciate the encouragement. Cheers! 😃👍
I'm trying to figure out what to upgrade to next...
awesome review, spot on, fun to watch and many great examples. Also thanks for the toc (chapter indes). subscribed!
Thanks, Christian! Happy to hear it. Cheers! 😃👍
Thanks, Julien. Appreciate the support and the follow. Cheers! 😃👍
hi gerald thanks for all the great content
would you rather recomment xt3 or sony zve10 if they are priced the same?
i would love to know your opinion on this one
It's been crazy watching your Fuji ride. X-T3 looks incredible I wish it had IBIS T_T
Thanks for the quality Gerald =)
Shooting sports - at night under the lights and dimly lit gyms ... would you recommend? Or better to stay with canon 7dmii or Nikon D500? Thoughts?
Looks nice and Wow finally 60p 4k! Sony better release 4k 60p. I doubt Sony will do 10 bit internal, but it better at least be 10 bit external. Nice review by the way.
Okay, I've been wondering about the video capabilities with the X-T3. I'm running a GH4 and looking to add a second camera as an a cam.
Great demo! I'll add that no stabilization is a big deal. That footage you shot looked straight out of a GoPro -ha! Making the X-H1 (same price if bought used) the better camera and value. Subscribed!
Great review. Debated back and forth between the X-H1 and waiting for the X-T3 but think the X-T3 makes more sense overall.
xt3 in 2021? i am looking at a 2nd hand body for 750 and am tempted :) or would an x-s10 at just a little more be more suited to see if i like the fuji system? biggest advantage of a new xs would be ofc return policy....
Hi Gerald,
I watched a lot of X-T3 videos and I think the image is excellent but the frame rate is really weird.
Another question!!!!! Would you recommend the XT3 or the XT4 over a full frame camera? For example the Canon R or Sony a III or the LUMIX S1
Man the little things of editing in your videos makes me wanna watch more of your stuff hahahaha.
Subbed and bell right here.
Ha! Awesome. Thanks a lot. Happy to have a new subscriber. 😃👍
Sweet overview, thanks. Thorough yet to the point. Looks like an awesome camera
Fujifilm xt 3 released in 2018 but still it can compete with the new released canon r7 and r 10 for video.
You are such a badass with this exotic super cars!! I love your channel recently subscribed!
Thanks so much! Appreciate you subscribing. Cheers!
Is there any way I can get a similar profile on Canon like the Eterna Profile? I really like the desaturated look.
Thanks!
Thanks for the suggestion! And the kind words. I think that's a good idea. Cheers!
Great review! Thanks!
This is *exactly* what I was looking for, except for no IBIS... but form my experience is so much more about how stable *you* are ;) Definitely gonna get this one as my next camera!
Hey, i want to buy a XT-3 for shooting musicvideos which lenses would you recommend me to get? Except the 23mm. Under 1000€.
Thank you!
Thanks, it's not marketed well here in India. So looking up any information is tough. This one fits perfectly for my scenario.
If you dont consider money and size, would you choose an Xt3 or an a7iii ? (mostly for music video shooting and some documentary work)
Hey man, have you seen any issues with the 2.10 firmware update, or has the 4gb limit truly been removed? I’m starting to pine after this camera!! With the x-t3 so you feel there’s any reason to consider the x-h1 to a hybrid shooter such as myself?
Yes, the 4GB limit was removed. And no issues that I've seen. Still loving this camera. The only real advantage to the X-H1 is the IBIS, but that's not a big deal to me.
Gerald Undone do you enjoy using the xt3 as much or more than the G9? And wow, that Eterna looks beautiful!!
Fantastic review! You remind of Caleb Pike with your indepth review! Love your style, subbed!
Thanks! I'm glad you liked it. Appreciate the sub.
Caleb is a cool dude. I enjoy his videos. Sounds like you got good taste. 😜👍
My Nikon d7100 has some little problems with AF-F (continuos)..... do you think is this model better for video?
I definitely think that this is a better camera for video. I think it's one of the best cameras for video out at the moment. You'll find much better video autofocus results on this model over the D7100. But it has so many other great video features you'll likely also appreciate if you're into shooting video.
Love your review! Good job
Love you Gerald. Great channel man!
Thanks so much! 😃
I can't wait to test my 50-140 on this and not on the xt1, time for an upgrade. Great vid buddy
Is the video crop mode 1.16 is only for 4k 60p or can it be from 24p up to 60p? Just clarification.
Hey! One BIGGGGG complaint I had about the xh1 was the fact it uses fat32 instead of exfat. For file formats. Did you notice a file limit size?
Great video Gerald! Subscribed
Great review. And pre-ordered.
Thanks! And nice. I hope you like it. 😃
Me too. Like you, I use the GH5 and GH5s for my professional video work, Also used the XT-2, but always thought the GH5 was better for video. Fuji just seems to have crushed it with the XT-3, though.
Gerald, I can shoot DCI 17:9 to one card and 4K 16:9 to the other simultaneously.. Am I understanding this correctly?
All of that makes sense. Lovely channel, man! Keep up what you're doing here.
Gerald Undone Thank you for answering, sounds extremely promising! Will conduct my own tests when I get the camera.
My favourite is still currently the GH5 with runners up being the Sony a7 III and Fuji X-T3.
Thank you!
Thanks for the review!
does 120p record without in camera slow motion WITH sound and AF so you have more options in editing it? Thanks!
Good question. It is an in-camera processed slowmo. So you set the framerate and sub framerate and it does the rest. So you can't capture at 120p straight and so no audio.
that is REALLY too bad thx!, i guess its another negative about the camera,
Jack Pakkel no camera does 120 with audio. I’m pretty sure most cinema cameras don’t.
Cheers! 😃
with HDMI output (monitor), the screen turns off? Thanks, great channel!
why does the xt3 have such harsh exposure changes when in aperture priority mode...i cant even video a sunset to speed it up later in post like i do with my sony A7rii
without it flashing so badly as the sun set and the light got progressively dimmer....i was using the 16mm f1.4
