    It is a great all around camera. I shoot around town and landscapes without a problem. Not wanting to use this camera for anything more. I have my Sony A7RIII for portraits and nature. Always take both camera's too the field here in Farm Country and take pictures of the same items, as a way to compare later on. But, I would highly recommend the Fuji X-T3 as a camera you can grow with and it will perform as you intend it to...enjoy!

    I’m a still photographer. I agree about the tech. I think Fuji pretty much has perfected the still world. Future advances will probably continually be in them video realm. I have a T20 with a 27mm permanently fixed. Always with me because it’s so light. H1 for special stuff like longer lenses, night shooting and to carry those larger lenses. Now, my flagship was my T2. When the came out with the T3 I said I wasn’t even looking at it, and most of the advanced I don’t care about...except one and you mentioned it. Two extra meg? If I can’t see it with a magnifying glass I ain’t buying it.
    But... The EVF on the H1 spoiled me and when going to the T2 I, like you, could actually now see the freakin’ little pixels and the morey they create on straight lines. Had to have the new EVF. Cost me $800 to upgrade but the EVF alone is worth it. Now that my two main cameras have an super EVF I can’t imagine needing to upgrade (T20 is about the same resolution because the screen is so small) I’m calling an absolute one year moratorium on camera stuff. I meant bodies. Now that I have IBIS in the H1 I’ve been threatening to get the 90mm f2. AND THEN THAT’S IT, well...unless they redesign the 18mm and/or 35mm 1.4, but they’re not going to do that for a while. I’m saving for the X200 with 36-ish meg, a fixed 40mm f1.7 and FF sensor. Then I’ll be set for all time and probably get hit by a bus the next day.

      I hear ya, Thomas! The EVF on the X-T3 is brilliant and pretty much on par with the X-H1...

      @jaeAre200 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree with the EVF on the XH1. It spoils you sooo bad. Have you tried the pancake lens on the XH1??? No one tries it because it looks funny, but I love it. The improved auto system makes it perform like the F2 lenses but has the smaller form factor.
      Also, great video STREET SHOOTR!! I saw you in DTLA once last year when I was doing some streetphotography, and we did the normal "bro" thing to do, we just saw eachother and looked at eachothers cameras to see what we were shooting on hahaha. You had the Ricoh and I had the XPro2 testing the Mitakon F0.95 (btw, not that great for street).

    I was looking at upgrading my Canon 1300d but wanted to save more, then I had no choice, me, my 1300d and my G7 X, plus backpack and 3 spare lenses and other bits decided to slip 10 feet down an embankment into a river, everything ruined. Thankfully I’d got new home contents insurance about 2 months prior, BUT, made a point of getting “ Outside the home accident and theft cover”, they were great and quickly paid out. I really didn’t know what I wanted, I’d been looking at the 90d for so long but for some reason I’d stopped looking at it, really wanted Mirrorless and after dismissing the Canon R due to the size and price of lenses and the Nikon Z6 mainly due to the CF Card, I went for the XT-3. To be truthful I’ve had my doubts, mainly due to not being able to get out to a main City as much with the current situation so doing more and more Landscape. For Street I love it and now after a few trips I’m starting to like it for Landscape too, but still wonder if I should have gone for Sony but it would have been an older one. Got it for a bargain too, new for £1149 with the 18-55mm lens, then a used “Like New” 35mm F2 WR which looks like it’s never been on a camera. Lens prices coming from Canon are expensive but better quality than the entry level Canon lenses. I do need a longer lens and as I’m unable to work it will have to be a used one but I got the 35 from MPB and it’s great plus I’ve never heard a bad word about them. My biggest issue as you also mentioned is BATTERY LIFE, or lack of it.
    I’ve started using back button focus but I really need to learn Zone Focusing.
    So glad I found your channel today, love it already
    Cheers guys

    hi there, i am an xt2 shooter. did some work with fuji system - weddings, events, models, concerts........
    i don't hear people talking about xt3 low light improvements(exception AF) over xt2, i had few bad moments with mine and it makes me worry cause it wasn't an issue with older canon systems. higher shutter speed is the most important for catching all these moments and fuji just falls apart on higher ISO's. if i need to go higher than 1250 i know if no light hitting my target its all ready going to be mushy and after noise reduction its getting worse, and i need to draw back facial futures back pixel by pixel on PS.
    I LOVE FUJI till i get indoors with little lighting or event and u not allowed to use flash. i just used to reduce noise and clean some artifacts to bring picture back on canons ( not very often scenario but it was possible ), and as i just said fuji just falls apart and i tried few fuji cameras just to make shore mine is not broken.
    Please some one let me know about ISO on xt3! is it better ?????
    days are getting shorter and my work is getting more stressful

      I never had an issue with high ISO performance on the X-T2 so I'm not sure I can help you there... I don't normally shoot at night but the few times I did with the X-T3 everythign looked great. I'd say I'd be comfortable shooting with it up to 6400 ISO and 12,800 is "just" usable...

      @@karledwards hi, thanks for quick response, i know i need to get hands on xt3 and see for my self if its suits my needs. maybe ill stay on fuji system and get xt3 due i already heavily invested in to fuji. even ill go for different system i still keeping my xt2 as secondary camera. if someone asks me about can u do professional work with fuji i would say definitely yes, but there is better options for a bit more money.

      Yes the Xt3 has worst iso performance than the xt2 .. It has been recognised by a few bloggers .. And with some lenses it performs better than others. Yet it has a better chip ... And focus speed etch.. So I am told. However For Weddings I prefer the Nikon D750 as for the image quality.. I still prefer the Nikon D750 😄

    Do the strap eyelets get in the way at all when pressing the shutter button?

    • @karledwards
      @karledwards  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not really. Any camera with a top mounted shutter is going to compete for space with the strap eyelets... I typically ru n the strap between first and second fingers when i hold the camera. Gives me free access to the shutter without having the strap between my hand and the camera body. Not a problem at all for me...

    What do you think are the disadvantages (or advantages) to be an APSC instead of a Full Frame for street photography?
    Considering the comparison between the xt3 and the a7iii.

    • @karledwards
      @karledwards  5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Hi SodaLemon4 - It's funny, I had recorded an entire section on just this topic but it ended up on the cutting room floor...
      There's no doubt that all other things being equal full frame sensors will outperform aps-c sensors. But we're talking about pushing both systems to their extreme limits to see the differences. It's not 2003 anymore and aps-c has come a long way. For all intents and purposes you'd be hard pressed to see the difference in normal shooting conditions.
      This being said, there is a visual difference introduced by using wider angle lenses (a 23mm lens gives a 35mm field of view on aps-c but the 23mm lens creates a different look than the 35mm). But again... this is very slight.
      I've shot some of my best images on aps-c and even though I'm currently shooting on full frame I'd consider the two to be interchangeable for the way i shoot. No technical stat will change the content of your images... and that's what people are "really" looking at!
      Hope that helps!

      I’m torn between the XT3 and a7iii too. Long time Canon shooter. I keep bouncing back and forth between the 2, but I’m leaning towards jumping into the Fuji system...

    • @karledwards
      @karledwards  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      They're both excellent choices. Having used both, and as a long time Fuji guy... I can say that the Fuji would win out for me if I didn't already have the A7iii. There's just something about Fuji cameras that inspires me to use them. A lot. Amazing colors plus the raw files are a dream to work with in Lightroom. For the money it's tough to knock the X-T3!

    • @Soda_Le_Moon
      @Soda_Le_Moon 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@karledwards The element that makes me uncertain is the color science in the Fuji system. I have used a Leica M10 for a couple of days and I was really surprised about the colors and the consistency of the paste. They were so good directly out of camera. Are the Fuji colors in the same level of magnificence?

    • @karledwards
      @karledwards  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hmm... Fuji reputation is based largely on their colors straight out of camera. Nothing to worry about there. But it's a subjective thing so I can't really predict what anyone will like more... A Leica M10 and lens is also 10,000 bucks so there's that to consider as well...

    Hey... just came back from a trip to NYC and I took my X-Pro1! Still use it and love it. Buuuut the only real question is should I get the XT3 in black + silver or all black?
    I got to play with the A7iii and XT3 while in New York. And they're both great. Honestly though, the XT3 feels better in the hand and the glass is amazing and reasonably priced. Plus, the weather sealing is better than the Sony. It was raining while I was in NY and it was on my mind the entire time.. (stressing about killing my beloved XPro1). Still flip flopping between the two. Should be buying one of these cameras by the end of the year and have a feeling I'm going to stay with Fuji.

      Not sure what you're referring to when you say you don't mean taking people from far away in a car park of people's back... Are you referring the one shot in the sample pics that showed a woman walking away with several cars parked beside her? How would any other camera have taken that shot better? LOL!

      @@karledwards All youtubers claiming to make street photographies are displaying boring pictures of people walking away, or just passing by in front of a wall, empty streets, little flowers, sun reflecting in a building windows, shadows of people looking at their smartphones, the back of an old lady carrying a shopping bag, etc. Nothing interesting, engaging, nothing emotional, nothing that moves me, and that everyone forgets immediately. They all have high opinions on their latest EVF with 1 trillion pixels, that is so much better than the previous one of course, but take the same crappy pictures. Not that I consider myself better, but I can at least say that people passing by in a street is not enough to make a good picture, even with intense contrast added in lightroom. You've got to have more than that. And only then can you say that the XT-4 with its 5 petallion pixels is fantastic for street photography... Sorry I'm a bit sarcastic and I understand the "not every shot is going to be a winner" thing. I'd just liked someone could prove it one day.
